Busy road and a gem of south Austin. It is very cute inside and the coffee (iced americano) is not watered downed at all. Strong and flavorful. It is not acidic, it taste groundy. Fans of Colombian or Guatemalan will love the coffees here.

Always delicious - a classic coffee house you don’t have to be a hipster scientist to drink coffee here. Good news though hipster scientists! They have delicious twists on things to add to your drink which you’ll likely enjoy - everything they make here is delicious and the back patio feels like a secret garden. Go check them out!

Coffee is fantastic. The reason I put 1 star is because I want to warn people about parking behind the building. My car got booted right in front of my face when I walking back to my car. I parked in the lot behind the building for 3min... I got my coffee at 4:30pm. I walked back to our car at 4:31pm. And, the time on my boot ticket said 4:40pm.. This is insane... That parking lot is a scam... If you check the reviews for other business on that street, you will see so many people talking about that parking lot scam.

Came in, greeted kindly, ordered a cold brew and picked up a Thunderbird bar. The facility is cozy and the there is an easy-going feel to the place. My order was handled promptly and received service with a smile. I will definitely come back and repeat. I recommend this place if you want an alternative to corporate coffee. That and I like smaller coffee houses. Thumbs up.

Enjoyed the latte here. They only have paper/plastic cups, so that was a bummer but nice vibe otherwise. Not sure about the “organic/fair trade” claim - saw nothing in here to indicate that was the case (coffee bags didn’t say it, and some of the coffee flavor pumps were Ghirardelli, but they did have organic bananas- so who knows). You have a selection of hot and cold coffee, beer and wine as well as some food, mostly prepackaged. They have outdoor picnic tables as well with umbrellas. Everyone but us was on their computer so seems like the place to come to get some work done. We dug the music they had playing and it wasn’t too loud (weekday morning). Think they have live music as well. Give it a try!

The experience at Irie Bean is Austin in a nutshell. From the soft spoken, friendly staff to the worn hipster-esque esthetic, this place is more than a tourist trap. Although a little more than I’d like to pay for flavored hot water and a stroopwaffel... this is a great way for an out-of-towner to start their day.

Great neighborhood hangout posing as a coffee bar. And I mean that in the most complimentary way. They have fine coffee and offer all of the amenities of a local coffee shop. However, they transform in the evenings into a whole other thing. The backyard alternates as a movie theater, music venue, and local pub, with a space shared with East Side King. So, get your great local food and a can of Pearl Snap, and catch the Thursday night open mic. Very friendly. Relaxed. And kids like it, too.

They have couches and tables if you prefer to sit at a desk. They also have beer and wine, in addition to live music.
