Just discovered this coffee shop. First impression: Good (I leave that extra ⭐️ for my future visits, there’s nothing wrong with the place 😊). I had Mexican Mocha with almond milk, which tastes quite well. There is a small but cute patio in the front. In the middle of great South 1st St.

Always delicious and a great place to grab a coffee while waiting for your tacos at El Primo. The staff is super attentive and friendly. Drinks roll out quickly. Seating out from and out back. The drink is an iced oat milk mocha. Its socially distanced, glass protector, hand sanitizer, and very open. Theres an outside deck out back to hang and work if necessary.

Nothing bad to say about the place, didn’t love the drip coffee but it wasn’t too bad! Also, pretty cheap (10% cash discount), and super nice staff. Not a fan of the PB vegan cookie. I like the vibe inside, and there is a great back patio overlooking a creek with trees (careful though, the leaves like to really get in your drink). Real good spot tucked away off 1st.

This is a great place for a great cup of joe. The staff is always friendly and they know what they’re doing with quality bean sourcing & all the brew methods, in my opinion.Don’t let the simple facade fool you, there is a unique back patio that’s beautifully set on East Bouldin Creek.Twice I’ve been miffed when they closed early without updating hours posted online, but now the owner seems to understand how they can prevent disappointed treks in the future.

First time trying this place, the two workers who were there were extremely nice and helpful! The coffee was absolutely delicious, I just had to buy a tote bag once I had tried the coffee. The atmosphere of the place is very welcoming, and I loved that they were playing an older song of Beck’s, so their music was nice as well. I had the dirty Iced Chai Latte. It was just the right amount of sweet and a hint of the bitter you expect and appreciate from a quality caffeinated beverage. The barista was fast, friendly and offered a cash discount if you opt not to pay with a card. I went out back to their fenced in porch along a sometimes creek. The trees surrounding the patio make you forget you are just steps away from South First.

This is my first time here and easily one of my favorites in Austin. The vibe is very relaxed and the patio is so peaceful as my wife and i enjoyed the shade and nature chirping around us. The barista was helpful, friendly and extremely talented (the woman with long brown wavy hair). They serve Wild Gift. I had the house coffee and espresso, both were balanced, sweet, and flavorful with great body. It lacks the weird hip/posh nature that makes ordering awkward and relaxation impossible in so many craft coffee houses. Few coffee shops feel like home anymore. Props to Once Over for keeping it craft and comfortable.

4 Stars (Like it) for Coffee... First time here (Im actually here writing this review). Staff isnt friendly but not in a bad way, just quiet and not very informative. The ambience is quiet, which thats what you want from a place of work, but not cozy or welcoming. Cool deck though next to an almost dried up creek but chill!... The insufferable hipster-manchild behind the counter was condescending and rude to me while I was here. After receiving my order, I walked away from the counter and near the back of the place, and had a private conversation about how the row of art near us was terrible scribble scratch. (It was literally scribbled crayola on an unframed piece of construction paper selling for $80.00)He took it upon himself to walk past me and mumble, Why dont you read the artist description first instead of being judgmental? not even stopping to make eye contact with me as he said it, or give me a chance to respond. He then does another drive-by again, and once again without stopping, mumbled: The artist is disabled. Thats why it is so expensive. Is one not justified in judging a piece of artwork for its aesthetic value? I should remain neutral both in the presence of a Giuseppe Crespi and a scribbled piece of paper? A disability somehow raises the value of a product or service? Thats the most pretentious thing I have ever heard. I truly am sorry youre 35 and still pouring coffee working for tips.

To be fair, I’m a barista so I’m really particular. My shot was sour and I could tell by smell it wasn’t pulled correctly. Milk was too foamy. But the place is cute and the baristas are friendly! Chai is okay but the milk was a little too foamy. I tried a shot, a cortado and a chai. The cortado wasn’t made traditionally (too foamy and too hot). But if you’re looking for a cute spot and you’re not super particular about your coffee, then you’ll probably like it

I randomly searched for local coffee shops and this was #3 and close to where I was. Right off the bat, parking is tough. The parking lot is small and hard to get out of if its full (it was for me). Once in, the atmosphere had a very hipster feel. Seating inside was full but plenty of seating outside. If its rainy though, the outside is not covered. I tried their iced coffee ($3.50 if you pay cash. Credit is a bit more. I think they only have one size) it was OK. Not the best Ive had, but not the worst. WiFi was kind of slow. Over all. Its O.K. After moving closer to town Ive been trying every coffee shop on S. 1st. There is a Starbucks slated for Oltorf and 1st and I want to keep my money local. Tried Once Over and got a lukewarm cappuccino and heavy helping of surly but decided to try a second time thinking it might have been a fluke. Same lukewarm cappuccino, same woman, friendlier this time but gave her a twenty and got back $6. Pointed it out and she made it right but her demeanor made me realize it was a conscious attempt.
