Great selection of coffee right off 1st street. I ordered a latte with the house made vanilla and cinnamon syrup and it was like drinking a yummy pancake. The vibe is chill and has good places to study or hang with friends if you want to get a pretty good cup of coffee. I would have liked to see the shop using Austin or local roasted beans but not a problem.
Comfy atmosphere, just quiet enough to study and focus, as long as you dont sit near a speaker. Has both comfortable couches and wooden stools. Great location, windows let in natural light. Parking lot has about 10-15 spaces. Restrooms are clean. Outdoor area is spacious and has just the right amount of shade, theres a few small tables on the deck too. Staff is friendly and professional. Menu is simple, coffee is great quality, and they make their almond milk in-house! All in all a great place to start the morning.
Really good spot to hang out and drink a cappuccino. Coffee was really good. 4 Stars instead of 5 because I ordered a bagel, was not asked if I wanted cream cheese with it so I assumed it came with the bagel. It did not, went back to the counter to order cream cheese, it was $.75 which was not the problem, the problem was their credit card has a $1.00 minimum, so I couldn’t get cream cheese because I don’t carry cash
Ended up here by chance since we wanted to try Gordough’s ... and they are across the street. Staff was friendly and coffees were delicious and great compliments to the “Big. Fat. Doughnut.” from the food truck. They serve a selection of pastries as well, though we didn’t try them. Good prices on the coffee and it was great to have a ceramic mug! Plenty of seating inside and out and right next to a Moon Tower so you can cross a few “must-sees” in Austin off your list and enjoy some great coffee while you are at it. Per usual, saw plenty of people “at work” on their laptops, so assuming they have free WiFi as well.
Went here while waiting for a table at Elizabeth St Cafe across the street. It was relatively quiet at 1 oclock on a Sunday. The weather was very nice so we decided to sit outside where they have picnic tables and other seating areas.I got a cortado and my wife got the Autumn spice latte. Our barista was very helpful and also had 10 years experience, which made for some really great art in our coffees which was a nice touch. Both drinks tasted amazing and the combination of the weather and the environment made it a great experience. Would recommend.
Probably one of the most underrated coffee shops in ATX. Highly recommend. The coffee is good and the staff is friendly. Love sitting outside and getting some work done as well!
The coffee here is alright, theres not much special about it. I got a cold brew that was watered down by the time I received it, which was pretty disappointing for the price I paid. Its far too overpriced for the coffee quality. Since the pandemic is going on, youve gotta order outside and wait for your drink there which is totally understandable. But itd be nice to have some sort of shade to sit in and wait considering it is summertime in Texas.
Seventh Flag Coffee is permanently closed and Word of Mouth Bakery is now open at this location as of Feb 12 2021
An amazing cup of coffee and amazing people. I drink a lot of coffee at a lot of coffee shops as I travel often. This was exceptional! I highly suggest the homemade vanilla cinnamon latte! It was great and less expensive than the chain coffee house.
Friendly staff with sustainably sourced coffee, you really couldn’t ask for more. This location also has pastries that are delicious. Really couldn’t ask for more while in Austin.
They have one really good, comfy couch that you can just fall back into (one of the couches with a really deep seat). They are a little tight for good seating outside of that one couch, though, so if its busy this might not be the best place to hang out. Coffees good too!
Delicious coffee. Beautiful space. Vaulted ceilings with pine. There were a lot of people working there. The AC was perfect on a sweltering Austin summer day.
Friendly staff and the place is great with nice indoor and outdoor spaces. Not a ton of parking so you might have to park on the street to the southwest of their parking lot. This is NOT a Starbucks so don’t expect 50 variations of coffee. They serve real and good brews here.
Great coffee spot on South 1st! Staff has always been super friendly and warm. Place is usually packed inside but they have a nice outdoor area with picnic tables and its dog friendly!
Better than Jo’s and Mañana in my opinion. Parking was easy and the vibe is super chill. My latte was much stronger than others I’ve gotten in the area which is 👌🏼 in my book.
Great spot-I had a latte and breakfast taco and sat outside at a picnic table to enjoy. They had a water dish for the dog, a really nice clean rustic industrial vibe going, and most importantly, really smooth flavorful coffee. The staff was funny and nice. Highly recommended.Update: I came back here and had a great cappuccino. They have almond and whole milk so I went with milk. I got a bag of beans to bring back to Boston with me and the guy working the espresso machine listened to how I make coffee (cold brew), what flavors I like, and gave me a great reco. Love it here!
I LOVE 7th Flag. Kind customer service, delicious high quality coffee, dog friendly, cute setup, stellar location, love the outdoor area and by far the best prices in town. In speaking with an employee (possibly the owner, not sure) he was passionate about obtaining the best ingredients and not raking his customer’s wallets across the coals. Genuinely good folks running the place. My new coffee spot for sure!
Friendly service, really good coffee. Only 4 stars because they are missing out on a huge opportunity. The outdoor area is large, but its ugly. Just some beat up tables in gravel next to a busy road. It could be a great chill spot if they make a project out of it.
This place has a cool interior and lots of seating outside too. Their cold brew was really good, unfortunately they dont have a decaf option so we also grabbed a hibiscus tea which was pretty good. They also have some merch you can buy in the store.
I thought the coffee was good, but not great. Although I did get an iced coffee and my guess would be their hot crafted drinks are probably better. Very cool little place though with some nice picnic table seating outside.
Very nice staff, ample seating indoors and outdoors. Parking on the street, down the block. Good price point. Can bring the dogs. :)
This place is one of the larger coffee shops I’ve been to in Austin - which is nice because that means plenty of studying room. However, the menu is extremely small and limited. There aren’t too many options and it is pretty pricey. I wanted a cortada with skim milk and they either have whole milk or house made almond milk (add a $). I spent $5 on something so tiny! But I would come back here just because there’s plenty of room to study.
This is one of my favorite coffee shops, and hands down they make the best mocha! I have nothing coffee related close to my work so I wake up 30 min early just to go here, I love it that much. Its wonderful!
Adorable little house on First Street that they have converted into a coffee shop. The interior is very sleek and modern. I really liked the wood paneling on the high ceilings; it really open up the place. They have Cuvee cold brew on tap (!!!). I ordered a second iced coffee and was allowed to get a large for the price of a medium on the second cup. Great environment, service, and coffee overall.
This place is the cutest. It has a large, outdoor courtyard to sit in. The baristas are super friendly, the coffee is pretty darn good, and the avocado toast is so delicious. The coffee was in the lower-mid price range, but the food is a bit expensive for what it is. Still loved it though! Cant wait to go back.
Cozy and quiet. One of the best coffees brewing here. Friendly baristas and right at the heart of South 1st st.
Great coffee with a small menu and cozy atmosphere. Seats are a little uncomfortable for extended periods of time but thats not too important.Staff is always friendly and having a good time.
Definitely one of the best places in the area. it has a cool interior. they have so many good reviews for a reason.
They will sell you coffee but wont let you inside to use their bathroom, even children. There were about 10-12 people in their outdoor area but no bathrooms. Poor customer service, average coffee.
This is the best new coffee shop to hit Austin in a long time. Its not as convenient as some and parking is limited, but their espresso drinks rival anything else available. I think at the very least they are ruling South 1st Street in terms of quality, and I have been to known to drive past other coffee shops that start with Hound to go to Seventh Flag from time to time. I know many judge coffee shops in terms of how conducive they are to getting work done (or going on job interviews, or sketching something of little consequence) and Seventh Flag does tend to get a little loud. Hopefully as they put on the finishing touches to the place, theyll be able to minimize some of that noise.
Okay so this spot is dope. They do something really unique with their espresso, when they serve the espresso shots it comes on a wooden plank with a side of seltzer water to clear your pallet and you chase the water with an Asian tiger blend tea. I come back just for the special espresso treatment, love it!
This is my go to coffee shop on this side of town. The staff is small, but always find a way to greet you with a smile and high quality service. You cannot beat the aesthetics of the house. Ive yet to be let down by any item Ive purchased from here.
Trying all the locally owned coffee shops on SoFi this is one of my favorites. Nice, light open space with plenty of room plus a porch and backyard patio. Always very friendly staff and today I just had a perfect cappuccino, perfectly balanced, perfectly temperature. This place also has the best coffee art Ive found even though I always get to go. Young vibe but totally welcoming just the way real Austin should be.
This place specializes in doing coffee and doing it well. I got an exceptional cappuccino here. The space itself is very minimalistic and has plenty of seating, including a large communal table.
Tea was delicious and outside area was a little sparce but enjoyable.
Except for lack of parking (typical for this part of town), youll get wonderful service and a spacious environment inside and outside for your work jam or meeting. Good vibe here!
Their staff is phenomenal. Friendly and energetic. The coffee is amazing- none of that weak stuff. I always find a seat, and stay for a few productive hours.
No decaf? Odd no? Its a coffee shop ..... Met a friend for coffee and she drinks decaf and they dont serve it so they offered her tea. Not the same thing. My coffee was fine - no complaints but it was unfortunate she was not able to enjoy a beverage. We had pastry-they were fine not amazing but average. Seating was interesting. I sat basically with my rear on the ground and knees at chin level and she sat in a towering stool. (We were both were at same table.) Maybe we werent hip enough to be there.
Cool littld spot! Simple menu, had some tasty looking pastries as well. Just got a coffee for a little less than $3 and it was tasty.
Very good coffee had a cold brew and iced vanilla latte. About the same price as Starbucks coffee but way better taste. Will definitely be back for more.
Underwhelmed. It was very quiet, but they still forgot one of the two coffees we ordered. (A simple process change could prevent that in future). Nice vibe and friendly staff. Very hard seats.
Quite the enjoyable atmosphere and vibe in this SoFi coffee retreat. We met one of the owners, Adam, and are impressed with his smoothly brewed cups of fresh-roasted Huckleberry coffee (Colorado). Love the close proximity to food trucks and South Congress shopping.
So fresh and so clean. Open. Bright. Charming. Not just like any other coffee shop. Certainly has a voice of its own.Social environment so you do dont feel like you have to have a library whisper. Hillbilly golf and bocci ball in the shady yard makes you feel like youre at your buddys house.I understand they will have beer/wine in the future. Ill be back for that with an extra star. :)
Nice and comfy :) i got latte, good one ☝️
Had the Gibraltar & it was terrific! Staff friendly and helpful. Gibraltar = 2 shots of espresso in an oversized shot glass with steamed milk artfully poured over. Fun & funky neighborhood.
I love it here. Quick and friendly service. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I loved.
Coffee was a little cool but a good brew. Otherwise 4 stars.
Get the avacado toast... pastries are yummy... coffee good. And yummy breakfast tacos. Nice picnic tables outside and nice clean inside. Very friendly staff. Everything you want in an Austin coffee spot
Good service, basic selection for a coffee house. Competitively priced but you come here for the ambiance. Good place to sit outside and people watch.
Really love the space. Coffee is delicious. Service smiles. I head here every time Im in town. Happy to recommend to all my fellow coffee enthusiasts.
Why does their flag logo thing make this place look like an anarchist collective? Anyway, coffee is good. Not locally owned, which is lame. But the coffee is always solid.
Cozy little place. Coffee isnt bad but has a limited pastry selection. Not a ton of seating inside. Some outside seating. Free wifi. Parking fills up quick since parking lot is tiny but there is street parking.
Seems to be a popular place to work and have a coffee. The couple of times Ive been it has been middle of the afternoon on a weekday and the place was full. Parking can be a challenge. I actually havent had theyre coffee yet but their tea was ok. I deducted a star because parking was a pain and nowhere to sit inside, but I guess thats because its popular.
Tired of lining up at a generic Seattle based international coffee franchise only to have a mediocre overpriced coffee and no where to sit, then Seventh Flag is your place to go (if you happen to be in South Congress area on 1st St.). Situated in a renovated house with outdoor seating in their garden, they also have parking in the rear. They have great coffee, delicious ham and cheese croissant among others.
Love this place! We came here everyday during our vacation for our morning coffee. Highly recommend everything but mainly the nitro cold brew!!
Toast and lattes are delicious- the toasts are giant and fresh and they do latte art in each latte and serve them in big latte mugs. Definitely will come back!
Nice environment, seemed like nice staff. In the time I was there, I saw a guy mistake an order and the water was gone.Nothing detrimental but nothing over the top, seemed middle of the road.
Good place. Coffee was good. The decor inside was a little meh.
Really good latte! I got mine with their seasonal lavender vanilla syrup and it was delightful.
Good coffee, good bagels, they have parking, Wi-Fi is excellent.
Doggos can come inside here (!)Bright, light, and friendly. Coffee is prepared exceptionally, and the roaster theyve been using recently makes a great bean.Food options are very limited, come for the coffee.
Spent a day working inside and outside on the picnic tables and it was fantastic. Cold brew coffee was strong and tasty, music was good, people were friendly. Plus some parking in back if you need it.
I only drink Espresso and this place serves a really nice Espresso.
A great little coffee shop. Parking out back, friendly baristas, very good coffee (and their own chai mix!), and plenty of seating. I didn’t work while I was here, so I can’t speak to the WiFi and outlet situation, but there were a good number of people around on their computers.
Great spot. Delicious lattes
Wow! Why have I never even heard of this place. Maybe Ive never seen it because the sign in their front lawn is understated. Who know. I will tell you this, though, I am more than a happy camper. The inside and outside both were spotless. Their seating is very comfortable and they have a large outdoor patio-ish seating area that is spacious and not cramped. The barista and cashier were very attentive as well! I ordered nitro cold brew with a little mocha and heavy cream. They dont have heavy cream but used milk, which they advised me of ahead of time. And they make their own dark chocolate syrup which I am a huge fan of. They also said they believed it to be at least 75% dark chocolate which I do not doubt because the drink had just a hint of sweetness - just how I like it! I also brought in an empty 44oz cup with a lid that they filled with crushed ice (the good stuff) and allowed me to fill my water from their ice water pitcher that is in the store fore customers to enjoy complimentary. I will be back!
I love their espresso presentation - its the best!Update: changing my review from 5* to 3* because you got rid of the espresso plank setup. That was my whole reason for coming here for a $3 espresso. :(
Excellent espresso drinks with a small bites menu. Almond milk thats made in house make it an excellent place for lattes/cappuccinos if youre looking for milk alternative drinks.
Great coffee and tea. This is an excellent spot to sit with a laptop or a book. The prices are reasonable and the baristas are always friendly. They have good wifi and decent outdoor seating.
Friendly baristas, great espresso and taco deli tacos! The cozy inside seating area has plenty of outlets.Outside its even better, everyone brings their puppies and you can choose to sit in the shade or sun.It would be the best coffee shop if the wifi signal picked up outside and if we could plug in outside.
The coffee here is quality. Ive yet to try something that I dont enjoy. Id easily recommend any of their offerings, especially the cold brew. The shop itself is bright with wood accents- very aesthetically pleasing. My only gripe is that it tends to be difficult to get work accomplished here. The space is smallish, the music playing over the speakers is just a tad too loud, and although the seating looks great its rather uncomfortable. Nice little patio to sit outside, though!
Nice little place for a coffee and cake. Plenty of room outside to sit down and relax in the shade. Pumpkin cake is amazing.
Some have noted that the selection is a bit limited but tbh what they do have is really high quality. They have what a great coffee shop needs.Super cute location, they have wifi but I dont care for it much as a place to work. Great place to meet with friends though! Or just a great place to relax and drink delicious coffee.
Cute coffeeshop-love the decor and how open and bright it is. I really enjoyed the chai latte-but 5 dollars is a little steep. Didnt have the toast but it looked delicious! Would definitely come back.
Great location and love the fact that theres a parking lot.Although this is nice coffee shop with a great location and parking lot in back, I dont think its the right fit for me for a few reasons.#1: Im not a coffee drinker, so I always order a juice, kombucha, lemonade, etc., but 7th flag doesnt have any of these options.#2: The interior design has a Bo Concept - modern & contemporary look. While it looks super sleek...there are no backs on the chairs. Perhaps this was by design to keeping people from overstaying their welcome... (: Either way - looks sleek but lacks in comfort.Pro - there is a sweet patio and porch with seating. If you are looking for coffee, arent looking to stay too long and have a really strong back, this is the place for you. (:
Pretty good coffee shop with nitro cold brew. Great sitting areas and a huge outside area with lots of shade and sun options
Service was great, coffee good quality. The ricotta and jam toast has a half inch of ricotta and a half inch of raspberry preserves slathered on toast, recommend sharing it.
Very friendly staff! Great teas. An attractive and comfortable space, too.
