Many things about this store are good, but I must be fair and square to give a helpful review for everyday customers. Many of the prices for alcoholic drinks (mainly beers) that you see displayed on the shelves do not match the actual price that you would have to pay at the register. And their excuse is always the same: It is not the same beer (or alcoholic drink) you are buying, but they place similarly named beers on those same spots on their fridge shelves (and the price that its shown is always lower than what you actually will be charged). I have experienced this multiple times and have complained about it numerous times, but no changes have occurred. This behavior has kept me from shopping in this store for a while. Please check how much you pay at the end to make sure it is what you thought you were going to pay.
We have been regular customers since 2011. This is a great neighborhood place with super friendly staff. They have an excellent and growing selection of beer and wine. Also, during the pandemic they have been diligent with their safety measures and tried to stock basic groceries, which is VERY helpful in limiting grocery store trips. Great place!
Great selection and even better service. Everyone who works there will always greet you with a smile on their face. They are always very thoughtful and will help find anything you are having trouble with. 10 out of 10
I like that they have really good coffee and if youre looking for something they dont have just ask the guy at the register to write it down and they will try to stock what youre looking for... also I was thankful they were one of the first to put up a huge plastic splash barriers back in March. Thats probably why its called First Food Mart.
I have to say, this friendly, welcoming neighborhood store not only provides with an assortment of beers, wines and small essentials...it encompasses the “small town” feeling. With that said, the safety measures in place because of coronavirus has made me feel safe and relaxed because of the acknowledgment from the establishment. I must say, they were the first to place a plexiglass in March to protect everyone and implement masks which makes one feel safer. Enjoy the establishment and say hi to Moez!
They have signs all over the door saying mask required but the cashier doesnt even wear one. When I called him out on it while checking out he got upset I was interrupting his phone call.
Best craft beer selection in South Austin, hands down. Will order just about any beer youre looking for.. but chances are they already got it!!
Love our neighborhood convenience store!
Great selection of craft beers and wine! My favorite convenient store in Austin!
1000+ wines & beers
They have Bud Ice, on ice, in an open fridge. Cant complain bout that.
