The entrance is so quick if you do not know where it is you will pass it just like I did but its a quick turn around to get back. There is so much parking here for the area, such a shock! The banana is delicious but does not hold up well. I tried to eat half and put it in the freezer to get back to it and the texture was off. I will eat it quicker next time.
Bananarchy is a place I love to treat myself. I don’t think I’ve had the same combinations twice. Today’s frozen banana was dipped chocolate and vanilla and covered with toffee, Oreo and coconut. So good! If you go to one of their 3 locations on a Saturday, for example, be prepared to wait for you banana. But believe me, it is worth it! Go check em out.
I have ordered from here multiple times but once I have tried to cancel my order and the phone number was out of order and I couldn’t cancel. Still very delicious I don’t suggest ordering online though.
Awesome frozen bananas! We got the whole but theyre huge and definitely would have been fine with the half
Really yummy!!! You can make your own banana and choose from lots of toppings and sauces or you can have one of their fun banana options. I made my own and got my nana dipped in chocolate with caramel drizzle and nuts. I got the large and it was huge! My family decided it would be best to get a small if you are getting something with a lot of toppings. But get a big if you are just getting chocolate covered nana. Loved all the arrested development jokes!
Its the best frozen banana stand in town. Play bananagrams while you wait.
Pretty much tastes like a tube of banana ice cream, encased in massive amounts of chocolate and your favorite toppings. My wife and I tried a few different kinds and Im pretty sure anything with toffee in it is a solid bet to order.Very nice staff and this area isnt very crowded at 7pm at night, in the middle of a pandemic. Ill be coming back.
A must stop its incredibly tasty
Cute little date night spot! I ordered a halfsie peanut butter pie (vegan) and my husband got a wholsie make your own (chocolate with Oreo crumbles). Both were delicious. I love that they have vegan options. 🌱Great friendly service!I would love for them to change from plastic one time use spoons to a sustainable stick. However, the stand does compost.(It is relocating to the old Trailer Park location.)
So good! Love the vegan options! Thank you. We will be back.
Excellent option and concept.
I love Summer Moon! I always get the half moon iced coffee. I recommend drive thru vs dining inside.
I’ve been coming to Bananarchy for YEARS, I’ve never seen anything else like it. Of all the dessert food trucks in town, the bananas take the cake. I love the Cookie Crumble, but OMG at one point they had this AMAZING chocolate dipped and strawberry/nutella covered banana. Wish they’d bring it back. Also with their hours were consistent with what’s online, sometimes I pull up to the truck and they’ve closed long before their supposed closing time. I drive like 20 miles just for a banana so it makes me super sad when they’re closed :-(
There was just one person working there and she was taking orders and serving as well! It seems she was tired and irritated..Before we placed the order she was like i have a long list of orders, she noted down our order and shut the window.. almost 30+ min later we got our order.. everyone waiting there including us were irritated... speaking of the treat.. it wasn’t exceptional either.. just a coated banana.. certainly not worth the wait and cost ($5 + tip) for a single banana coated with chocolate and served with an irritated look!!Several people went next door (magnolis), since the server had shut her window and was not taking orders!!They need to improve their system and efficiency ( the girl was writing each order with a pen and paper, she messed up an order before us) or else it’s not worth it!
If you like frozen bananas youre going to absolutely love Bananarchy! I loved the hand drawn menu and the owner was a pleasure to chat with. I ordered the Peanut Butter Pie, which was dipped in vegan chocolate, sprinkled with graham cracker crust, and topped with peanut butter. It was DELICIOUS!!! Ill definitely be returning in the future.
Our family was visiting Austin and of course started touring all the Food Trucks. Bananarchy was our FAVORITE! We went 3 times in the 4 days we were in Austin. I personally loved the Vegan Chocolate with nuts. Healthy and delicious.
Freaking delicious! Felt like I was on an episode of arrested development. Cant believe how good a frozen chocolate and nut covered banana is. I would compare it to Bombsticks if anybody remembers those old ice creams they use to have in stores but a little better.
Love this amazing food truck find! The staff is friendly and awesome and the selection is delicious.
A must go!!! My favorite is the vegan chocolate banana with Oreo and peanut butter 😍
Simply a lovely tasting dessert! Didnt know what to expect, but I was so impressed by how great all the toppings and coating came together.
Frozen Bananas, dipped in vanilla. chocolate or peanut butter, and then covered in various toppings including graham crackers and toffee (my favorite). Theres not much to it, but thats the beauty of it. Bananarchy is fantastic in its simplicity and operates out of a food stand. very quick service and delicious cheat snacks.
This was a fun stop while in Austin. The two ladies at the booth were very friendly and helpful. We shared their largest menu item and we barely could finish it because it was so big! The fun part is that its in a food truck park.
One of the best dessert foods I have ever had. How are there not more of these places? Amazing.
Decent place. Bananas covered in all things good. Wife got the Joe Banana and it was COVERED in coffee grounds which is interesting. I think there are much better places to grab desert here.
My first experience with Bananarchy is one Ill never forget. Frozen bananas hand-dipped in chocolate and clustered with toffee bits is pretty much the best dessert Ive ever had!And theyre not even pricey, which is even better. I highly recommend them. Tons of banana options, nice staff, and great location.
Super bummed. Drove to the Live Oak and 1st location from my hotel (in town for business) based on the outstanding reviews only to find no Bananarchy truck. Called them twice and received a voicemail twice with no information as to a closure, relocation or other. No such help found on their website either with Live Oak still listed as a location.
This place is so charming and the frozen bananas are always delicious. The staff are always kind and friendly. Im getting close to filling my punch card!
Love, love, love this place! Been going to Bananarchy since they opened. I gotta be honest, for me, frozen bananas are comfort food but...these aint your mamas bananas! Lots of creative choices and a flavor of the month keep me from ever getting bored and theres always service with a smile.
There are so many amazing food and dessert trucks in Austin. I love them all, but I can easily say Bananarchy is hands down my FAVORITE dessert truck in Austin. The prices are super cheap and reasonable, and Ive never had a more delicious and unique dessert. Everyone has to go every day for the rest of their lives. Its AMAZING!
The bananas are great and especially refreshing on a hot summers day in Texas! Only cost about $3-$5 too. Awesome location by other food trucks, although perhaps if busy it might be hard to find parking.
Simple, Sweet and plain delicious! These frozen bananas taste amazing every time! I highly recommend the Texas Two Step!
Great late night dessert, we had 4 different flavors and they were all great.
Probably the best banana based dessert Ive ever had! I loved the variety they offered:)
I know you can get a bundle of bananas for cheap at the grocery store but these are some awesome frozen bananas. You can get them dipped and chocolates or peanut butter or whatever they have for special and then topped with countless choices. Its a great summer snack that reminds you of ice cream because its cold but is healthier. Heck - even my dog loves them (plain of course).
So so good and massive!
One word: delicious. I dont know if Im just fooling myself, but I dont feel as guilty when eating a frozen banana compared to something like cheesecake. The frozen bananas were very affordable. Theres also a super large menu to choose from. You also have the option of creating your own frozen banana. I tend to be a picky eater, so having that option was great. The service was great and the people were super friendly. I recommend this as a great after-dinner (or before) treat hands down.
Chocolate covered frozen bananas...what more could you ask for! I only wish they were open year-round and the location was a little closer to my house. I love the vegan chocolate with coconut. I also like that they have specials that change daily. Last time we visited, the food park had a giant Jenga to play with while you waited. Super fun!
This is one of the real world benefits of Arrested Development; Im not sure this fine establishment would be here if it were not for the show. Anyway, I popped my frozen banana cherry at Bananarchy, as such, I dont have anything to compare it to. But Ive gotta say, the experience was almost divine. The bananas are frozen to perfection (not solid like a brick). And the toppings are mixed and applied in the perfect ratios.Oh, man, just typing this review makes me want to head across the river and pick up a frozen banana.
Its not just bananas, but chocolate-covered bananas with nuts. Or white chocolate bananas with sprinkles. Or maybe Vegan chocolate bananas with Reeces. Whatever you want on your frozen delicious banana, you can get at this fun little banana shack based on the hit-show, Arrested Development. The girls in the shack even wear the headbands with a plastic spoon in the front. They are fun and funny. If youre in Austin and want a delicious, rich, Austin experience swing by the groovy gals at Bananarchy.
Frozen bananas dipped in your choice of chocolate and toppings. Its pretty good and there are vegan options. Be careful because it is only open during part of the year. Be sure to check before heading over.
HOLY BANANAS!!! This place is AMAZING! If you love Bananas and chocolate, this place is a MUST Visit. They have different choices like vegan chocolate toppings like peanut butter granola, coconut, and etc. The Banana Lady is hilarious too!
SO yummy! I highly recommend this place, and where else can you get them??? If you havent tried it yet, you should! My friend doesnt even like bananas, but she loves this place! The staff is really nice too! Whatever you get, get it dipped in toffee!
We LOVE Bananarchy and were so excited to have them cater our wedding :) Anslee was amazing from start to finish and our friends and family are still raving about the bananas! I would highly recommend for catering or a visit to one of their food truck locations!!!
Showed up 10 minutes before said closing time and there was no one in sight with all the lights out. I know I was cutting it close but have the decency to stay open until you’re supposed to. I’m very disappointed.
Theres always money in the Banana Stand. This place is excellant. Theres nothing like a frozen banana on a hot day. They people working inside and always smiling and you can park right next door. Stop by!
This is one of my favorite places in Austin. The fact that it is only open seasonally just makes it more special.
My favorite food truck by far. They give that Arrested Development feel all frozen banana lovers want. Food is prepared quickly and accurately, and all their employees are incredibly friendly.
These bananas are delicious! They are kinda healthy and very decadent. They are only open for the warm part of the year so make sure that you go when its hot outside!
Hate the Taste ! It is a frozen banana on a stick with chocolate sauce and your choice of toppings. Thought it would taste good, but it turned out pretty bad. May be the preparation was not good or the combination tastes weird in general. Personaly, not gonna recommend it !
Oh man. I got a Groupon for this place and it may have been the best $5 Ive ever spent. The little shack isnt much to look at, although it is covered with Arrested Development references that I imagine would be amusing if I had seen the show. The bananas were freaking awesome, perfectly sweet and cold but not icy. Mine was covered in rich chocolate and rolled in crunchy toffee bits. Next time (oh yes, there will be a next time) I might get real crazy and go for the swirled dip - peanut butter and chocolate, maybe? Mmm.
Yum! Can’t say enough good things. We always make this a summer go to spot.
Awesome place for dessert! Frozen banana dipped in chocolate, vanilla, or peanut butter and topped with crunchy goodness.
Amazing hand dipped frozen bananas! Gluten and dairy free and vegan options!
Has tons of dippings and toppings options to build your own banana! Truly unique
Such a unique food truck and delicious eats too! Frozen bananas are the perfect treat during the summer
If you havent had Bananarchy...what are you doing?? They make the best frozen bananas dipped in chocolate and your choice of a milliok different toppings. Its so simple yet genius and somehow still healthier than doughnuts or ice cream. The food truck is open late so its the perfect guilty but not too guilty midnight snack. The only reason it gets a 4 is because its a bit pricey ($5) but TOTALLY worth it. I just know that I could make it at home for so much less. If they raise their prices more, I probably wouldnt continue tontreat myself, but for now Im bananas about this place. ;)
Such a fun place! Great combos for your bananas! A unique dessert in an awesome location!
Loveeeeeeee this place. The bananas are so goooooodd such a good frozen treat on a hot summer day.
Delicious bananas dipped in chocolate, nuts, and a plethora of other toppings. Fun late night dessert spot.
Bananarchy is like a dream come true. When Mother Nature gives you Banana Weather, it would behoove you to not go over to this little stand on S Lamar for a frozen treat.I have never ordered something that wasnt delicious, and Ive had most of the menu. You dont have to be a huge banana fan either. The banana, though the star, isnt the primary flavor. The toppings are where the magic happens, and it is indeed magical. If youre unsure, get a halfsy, but youll be wishing you got the whole thing before long.
I understand the entire cast (and director/producers) of Arrested Development have visited Banarchy at one time or another. Its one of my favorite places to go during the summer months for a refreshing treat, and always takes me back to the hilarious antics of the Bluth family when I go. Im not even really much of a banana eater, but their frozen banana concoctions are all pretty amazing.I tend to stick to the Cookie Crumble, but The GOB is incredible too (but I recommend splitting between at least 2 people).
So good. You cant go wrong with any of them, but one of my favorites (I think it was a weekly special) was the salted caramel.
My have is the chic with oreo banana. Customer service is always the best, and the employee is always friendly and quirky! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
So cool and I love bananas!!! They have a menu with a few unique creations and build your own. The are deliciously sweet and have a frozen banana in the center. My wife even loved the vegan chocolate, she prefers it to the regular bc its not as sweet. But all so delightful funny and satisfying. Even the smaller (halfsie) is big enough to enjoy. Side note, can get mess lol.
Bananarchy is a great dessert trailer in Austin. A great place to bring a date after dinner, to just sit and chat.
A good banana, but I dont think it was great. However, if you like chocolate, and you like bananas, this might be the place for you.
SO GOOD. Go for the toffee one. So incredible. You will not regret it.
Delicious and simple. Friendly staff. Great location. Quirky names.
Different trucks to choose from...all good
Theres always money in the banana stand! Actually, I dont know if they have money but they do have delicious bananas.
Yummy bananas, but a bit expensive. They are worth it on a hot summer day. My favorite is the vegan chocolate with sometype of nuts. They are inspired by arrested development. THey are hard to find, never know where they will be.
Probably the only place in town where you can find this kind of variety for frozen bananas. Never disappoints!
My favorite place in the whole world!
These bananas make an awesome snack anytime of the day. many different options to choose from, including vegan options!
Amazing, the banana tasted great with the toppings. Definitely a returning customer now.
My favorite dessert! Cookie crumble is delicious
Delicious! But make sure you call ahead, especially if its a beautiful day - like most trailers, they occasionally are sold out.
Bananas + great toppings=great price! What else could you ask for on a hot summer day?!
Great place! My husband and I love it!
They always know how to make a delicious chocolate covered banana!!! Come to Austin for the frozen bananas!!
We always love going to Bananarchy every time we go to Austin, so we made sure to involve them in our wedding. We worked with them to serve frozen bananas (halfsies) at our wedding cocktail and it was a hit! All the guests loved it. The bananas were delicious! The team sent out a professional banana dipper to the wedding as well as the all the bananas, dipping sauces, and toppings we wanted. It was awesome and tons of fun! Afterwards, just before they left, they dipped all the remaining bananas in random dippings and toppings which was a pleasant surprise the next day in our freezer. Service was fantastic. These guys are the best thing in Austin. Highly recommended for both catering AND eating!
Deliciousl and the people were very nice!
They catered a work event I attended, and I am not usually a big dessert person and am lactose-intolerant, which limits my dessert choices anyway - but WOW this place was so amazing that it is a good thing I dont live in the area or I would be going there all the time!
Bananas, chocolate, peanuts, oh my! Freaking amazing news on a spoon!
Huge fan of absolutely everything about this place! Wouldnt advise getting it covered in coffee beans though
Great desert place for people who like 🍌and chocolate.
