There are so many different flavors here that it was hard to choose. Tried the coffee with cream, dark chocolate olive oil and sea salt, vanilla pear cheesecake, horchata texas sheet cake, roasted beet and fresh mint flavor, and a few others. The service was quick and the ice creams were quite good. Parking is in the parking garages nearby.

Good ice cream, but covid freaks that don’t accept cash. Forcing you to use a. Card. By the way how is a card cleaner? The girls probably touch it more than cash. Running my own restaurant and accepted cash the entire time. Hand washing prevents the spread. Some people don’t like using credit cards, this is a dumb policy. But hey, pay the fees on your sales.

I was a bit skeptical when I was looking at the flavors online, but the unique creations I had were all really good! I did have a bit of a hard time distinguishing between the coffee with cream and caramel salt lick, as they both had very similar tastes, which was a bit disappointing (though they were both still very good). The dark chocolate also had some salt in it, but I really like that combination. I think the most interesting flavor was the goat cheese and thyme. It was a pretty bold goat cheese taste, but thats one of my favorite cheeses so I loved it. All of the flavors I tried were very smooth and creamy. With all the unique flavors, I would definitely prefer to come here over most other regular ice cream shops.

The coolest thing about Lick is that they come up with the craziest flavor combinations. On my visit, they had Goat Cheese with Thyme and Honey, Lemonade Pound Cake, Honeyed Peaches with Rosemary, Loquat Margarita, and Roasted Beets with Fresh Mint. The vegan options are usually pretty limited, unfortunately, but when I was there they had: Peach Berry Swirl, Coconut Caramel Cream, Chocolate Chocolate and then Coconut with Avocado Curd is made with egg so it’s just dairy free.I got a couple of scoops in a chocolate waffle cone. They said that the waffles that they make in store are dairy-free but made with butter and eggs, so they aren’t vegan. The flavors that I tried weren’t very distinctive and I was disappointed there weren’t any flavors with different textures, like crunchy graham cracker bits in the peach berry swirl, everything was one texture. The chocolate waffle cone was different so I was intrigued so I tried it and it fell apart everywhere, plus the taste of chocolate was pretty weak. I do appreciate that they don’t use artificial colors or flavors, preservatives or high fructose corn syrup along with using only locally sourced ingredients, which they list on their flavor boards.

Great dessert after some delicious barbeque.I had never been to this shop it small and nice. They have several unic flavors like carrot cake and goat cheese with honey. They were amazing by the way.If you are more traditionalist they do have milk chocolate ice cream and it is amazing. You should also try Texas sheet cake flavor its like a chocolate pecan cake only much better as an ice cream. The server is really nice they will ask you if you want your ice cream arranged a certain way, like what flavor on the top of your cone so consider that before you order 3 different flavors.

My favorite ice cream in Texas! Cones are made fresh on sight and all the ice cream flavors they have are as unique as they are good. I havent been to Lick in a long time and I was looking to get dessert somewhere else for a change, so I decided to come back here again. My first experience was average, but coming here again was a whole lot different. The wide variety of options they have here is crazy. Out of the 22 flavors here, I must have tried at least half of them before I could pick some flavors. I ultimately decided on Texas Sheet Cake and Candied Pecan & Bourbon. Although these flavors contrast, they were both delicious together. Refreshing and natural tasting. The flavors were rich and unique. In fact, all the flavors here are unique. You wont find your basic vanilla, strawberry, etc. Instead, youll find a different twist on them that will have you coming back. I know I certainly will. On top of that all, I got a waffle cone that they make here in house and its so good! Better than what you find at the store. Im glad I tried them again and was very satisfied with my experience. Cant wait to come back because there are so many flavors Id like to buy!

One of my favorite ice cream shops in Austin!! I love that they rotate through seasonal flavors, but I’m mostly glad that my all time favorite flavor (goat cheese, thyme, & honey) is a permanent flavor, thank god! I went recently because I was super excited to try their new seasonal flavor, CREAM CHEESE KOLACHE, and it was....incredible to say the least. I really wish they could make this a permanent flavor because I’m about to go back again just to get this flavor before it goes away!!!

Had sometime before my movie to grab some ice cream, so I took up that opportunity and did. So unique flavors I feel can work for an against an ice cream shop when it works you get a flavor that is totally new, and spectacular and when it doesnt youre just given a flavor profile that makes no sense and you wonder why not just go with the tried and true. Lick I feel toes that line basically as much as they can, I have never tried as many free samples as I did at Lick and it wasnt because I wanted to try all the flavors, it was because I was looking for one that I actually enjoyed. Now everything else was great, the service was friendly and welcoming, the shop was clean and the waffle cones are great and give you many options which I love. So, we are from Portland, land of Salt n Straw, and I would say that Lick is on par or possibly even better! The ice cream is light and the texture awesome. We went three times while in town and I ordered Brown Butter, Cilantro Lime and Vegan Tart Toasted Coconut every time. Im not even a big ice cream person but these flavors are so freaking awesome. The flavors are delicate and done so well! My husband was obsessed with the Grapefruit with Champagne Marshmallow, Texas Sheet Cake, and Lemon/Gin. Wish we could bring Lick back with us!The only issues I will state are the that serving/scoop sizes are quite small for the price, the waffle cones are okay but not the best Ive ever had, and this particular location needs better seating options. Going with friends to have ice cream and a chat is tough when there are only a couple benches/stools and no tables. Even a bar against the inside window would be helpful! Thanks, Lick! Love you! Ill be dreaming of the Brown Butter Ice Cream!

Flavors like Beet, Goat Cheese and Thyme, Salt Lick Caramel sound funky, but are amazing. The parking lot can be a bit of a headache, but only because theyre so popular. Weve been going to Lick since its early days. The ice cream is the best in town- creative flavors, small-batch and fresh ingredients that are locally-sourced. While the latter two are important, its the unique flavors that keep us coming back. Fresh mint with chocolate chunks; goat cheese, thyme & honey; and pecans & cream tickle your taste buds with flavor combinations youve never tried before (who serves up mint chip with FRESH honey?) and still reinforces nostalgia for the old-fashioned ice cream shop? Review №88

Lick Ice Cream is decent--maybe above average--in terms of consistency and general ice creamness, but in terms of flavors, its the best Ive come across. Theyll have some fairly-standard good flavors, such as Mexican Chocolate, but also plenty of unique, weird-but-good flavors, featuring combinations such as goat cheese, thyme, and honey, or cilantro and lime. Some of them sound gross, but theyre all actually delicious (unless you have the cilantro-tastes-like-soap gene, in which case all but that one are delicious). The vegan selection is small, but notable for the fact that they have a vegan selection, and doubly-so for still including weird awesome flavors. Coconut and avocado curd? Hell yes!In addition to the standard normal and standard weird flavors, they have seasonal flavors that pop up throughout the year, so its essential that you visit often. Seems theres a sweet potato flavor right now that I have yet to try.The people there are super nice, even when you try half a dozen flavors before choosing one, or two, or three (because, really, who sticks to just one when you have choices like these?) Also, you can quickly earn a free cone by using your punch card, unless youre like me and forget it at home every time, resulting in a dozen half-filled punch cards sitting in a drawer. The ingredients are locally sourced (at least to a reasonable extent), so thats nice. The only thing that isnt perfect about Lick is that parking is limited, but youll find a spot, and any frustration from that task will quickly be forgotten from the shock of sampling beet and mint ice cream and discover beets can actually taste good.
