The Midas Shop in Barstow has been my mechanical shop for years. From an oil change to a transmission replacement, their work has always been “second to none”. I’ve even purchased tires there. The people there are courteous and cheerful and always make you feel like you’re important and matter. Anyone that takes their vehicles in for service anywhere, knows that you have to trust the people taking care of your car. Believe me, I’ve had some unfortunate dealings with mechanics at other shops. Not so with Midas, as I have complete trust in their staff. At the end of a service visit I’m always informed of the condition of the vehicle and sometimes suggestions for other items to think about repairing. These are always optional and never like a high pressure sale but shows me that they care. I take all my vehicles there, as do my parents, son, and granddaughter. I refer everyone I know to Midas! My three vehicles that I take there have 40,000, 150,000, and 250,000 miles on them! That speaks volumes!

Third day out on a 3330 mile road trip, fuel pump went out in Barstow.Called several shops in the area, none could help for several days.Called Midas and was greeted with friendly Karina. She was terrific along with the other office staff. Bobby and Shawn got the parts I needed, stayed until 7:00 in the evening to get the repair done and get my truck back on the road. All this was accomplished with temps in the triple digits. Just an amazing crew! Thanks again, and again, and again....you guys really saved my vacation!

My girlfriend and I were driving from LA to Denver when a metal pole speared my gas tank leaving us stranded near Barstow. We Contacted about 5 auto body shops within a mile of Midas. People were telling us 3 weeks, $2k dollars. Angela told us maybe they could find a used gas tank. Not only did they do that within 5 minutes of saying that, but they got us on the road in 24 HOURS!! I cannot say how nice and helpful they were. She called us to tell us she can pick us up from our hotel to! I work in the automotive industry, this customer service and turnaround is WAY ABOVE AVERAGE. I cannot say how happy i am to be home because of Midas Barstow

The only reliable vehicle service in town, that I have found. Knowledgeable vehicle maintenance crew with honest and understandable front office staff as well. I go here for all of my vehicle needs that Im too lazy to do myself and I always get the quality I would expect. Their staff communicates well and frequently. If youre looking for a regular maintenance crew for your vehicle these guys are tops.The manager cares about customers and seems to take good care of the staff.Overall, I would highly recommend that you start using this place, except on Mondays, dont start getting the place all busy on the day I come in. Find your own day

This family owned shop is so busy and for good reason. Incredibly friendly and helpful front desk staff. I broke down on the way to vegas and AAA towed me there. I deduct one star because my tire light was on and I asked them to address the situation and after 3 days of the car being there when they called me to let me know my alternator was repaired the tire light was still on and I had to leave to take the 3 hour drive back home so I wound up having to go to a gas station to check my tire pressure I was so scared to drive back home but I absolutely did not have time or the money to leave my car again. Despite this they were great people and they did the job

Very helpful! I had some problems with a repair done somewhere else and had my car towed in to Midas. They were really on top of things and kept in good contact with me during the repairs. They were extremely helpful and kind and even called the other mechanic shop to help find out what the problem was.

On July 25, 2021 i was enroute to Utah and in barstow I had my alternator go out. Luckily Midas was open on. Sunday. You replaced my alternator and had me on the road in about 2 hours. I made it to Utah in no time had a great vacation . Thanks to you. You guys did great work thank you

Had a new air conditioning installed same day I needed to get back on the road and cross the desert. Worked perfect and had great conversation with the employees while waiting.

Couldnt get my tire fixed since they didnt have it in stock but the service member was very nice and checked with a few places to see if they had it in stock. Would recommend this shop because customer service was amazing. She was nicer than Firestone and actually cared!

We had an emergency breakdown in the middle of the desert while traveling and had to get the car towed there. Despite how busy they were, they managed to work us in. They had a perfect diagnosis, and Angela and the rest of the team went above and beyond so that we could get on our way to visit my daughter. Including driving to pick up a part so that we didnt have to wait an additional day to have it delivered by honda, performing diagnostics so that they could order parts before they even had the availability to work on it, and more. They got us up and running in 2 days and I couldnt have been happier given the circumstances.

I was traveling from California to Texas with my 90-year-old mom on oxygen I guess I was overdue for a transmission flush and my car shut down going up hill which terrified my mom had to stop at Midas in Barstow to see if could fix the problem they were amazing knocked it out in less than an hour I was back on the road they made my life wonderful highly recommend them Barstow not so much🥳👍👏

Our car broke down on the highway on a trip through the area. These folks were great and took care of at almost closing time. They were fast, efficient, friendly and very reasonable on the price. So glad we choose them.

We were traveling all day to get to California to visit family when our car broke down 35 miles north of Barstow. We were very stressed out. Based on the great reviews we came to Midas the next morning. We cannot thank you enough for taking such good care of us. Although you were very busy, You managed to work us in and get us on our way five hours later. Thank you thank you were answer to prayer!

I have been using this Midas for over 3 years for all oil changes and most car repairs for two fleet pickups. They do a great job working with you on pricing and providing good information on highly recommended repairs vs. non essential repairs and explaining why things are recommended a certain way. They always follow up to make sure one is satisfied. If there are issues they have put effort into resolving them and are always very professional in their interaction with their clients. As of recent their wait times for repairs have increased so I would not recommend dropping in and expecting things to get repaired right away like back in the day, but I guess that just means everyone has figure out their a good place for repairs!

I go to Midas anytime either of our two cars need anything. They always fix it right the first time and make sure that we have safe vehicles that operate correctly. They have great a staff and are easy to go to for anything I need.

I am so grateful for Midas incredible service. I had been driving from Nevada to LA and stupidly put diesel in my car. Luckily, Midas was able to check on my car and run a diagnostic to make sure I didn’t completely destroy my vehicle that day. I was so overwhelmed and mad at myself, but the employees were really kind, considerate, and personable. I thought I would have to pay over $1000 for the mistake I made, but I was able to pay far less. They were able to clean out my gas tank refuel and make sure that any of the oil from the diesel was cleaned out of my car. I really appreciated their effort to make sure I could get the car running and head out the same day I brought it in to the shop. I had a great experience with them. I feel really lucky that even though I almost destroyed my car, I found Midas to help fix it.

I gave it 4 stars cause they didnt bother to call me when my car was ready and it had been ready for a while. Aside from that the people that work there are very nice. I would recommend them.

Came in because our muffler heat shield came off but they were full for the day, the lady working the front was very kind and tried to see if she can squeeze us in. She spoke to a mechanic and he came out to look at the issue and told us that we would be fine to drive and not to worry. He recommended we just get it installed during an oil change. He could have lied and made the situation seem worse than it is but was very honest.

I have a lifted truck and they did a good job dialing everything in and installing the new tires, which is great since lifted trucks are hard to align as it is. Everyone was friendly and helpful!

I was driving across the country and a wheel bearing failed along with its seal. Differential fluid was EVERYWHERE!. Broken down in the desert, my only hope was to have my truck and trailer towed to the nearest town. Surprisingly, Midas in Barstow was able to fit me in immediately and in good time, have me back on the road with a full repair and a little extra. 3000 miles later, I made it to my destination and the repair is still going strong. Thanks Midas in Barstow! You saved me.

Was on vacation when the radiator went out had it towed to them it was a holiday weekend . They called the next day with price and time. They got it done sooner than expected worked out great.

Midas in Barstow is one the best auto repair places I have been to. I originally went to the dealership and they told me they could fix my problem and referred me to Midas. The took time and explained everything with my vehicle. When I left they also checked up on me to follow up and make sure I was satisfied with the work completed. If I should ever need work done again I will definitely be back and I will be referring anyone I know to them. Great customer service.

I’m not one to rant about a place unless I strongly think that they do not value their costumers time or money. I went in for a simple oil change and used my military discount for 10% off a oil change, all good right. I was told about 45 minutes to a hour so naturally I said okay I’ll wait. 2 hours go by and I finally say hey what’s the deal, to then be told “ sorry you’ll have to wait another hour or an hour and a half. At this point I just said yanno what give me my keys I’ve waisted enough of my time here thanks. Poorly ran place, wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to go 1/5 stars.

These guys did a radiator replacement on my 7.3 powerstroke after we broke down outside of Baker, CA. They did a great job.

Our family van broke down in the desert near Boron, at midnight, packed to the ceiling with camping and rafting equipment on the way to Utah. With a 4am tow to Barstow, we randomly googled a Midas outlet, hoping the franchise had a reputation to uphold. Could have been a disaster, but we are SO FORTUNATE to have stumbled upon this place!!! They saved our trip!Everyone at this Midas shop was fantastic to work with... Arian, the owner, opened a bit early to take us in, and knowing our dire situation, scrambled to get us diagnosed quickly. (It was the day before Easter Sunday...) He was juggling 6 or 7 customers, and a parking lot full of vehicles, but was visibly focused on serving each individual professionally and efficiently.It was clear from the crowd of customers streaming in on a Saturday morning, that this shop is popular and busy for good reason. The turnover was quick and efficient, with old changes, tuneups, and major repairs rolling in and out of their 4 workshop bays. All the mechanics seemed hard-working and engaged.Within an hour or so, he laid out a few options for us, detailing the estimated costs, and time needed. He coached us on ordering parts directly, to try to accelerate their arrival at his shop. An hour later, when it was clear that we could not get an obscure part for our old Eurovan in time to make our rafting trip start date, he advised us on dependable vehicle rental outlets in town.We rented a Uhaul van, and successfully made it to Utah in time for our week-long wilderness rafting trip. During the drive I spoke with several folks at this Midas shop (Arian, Angela, Kenny, etc.), and set up repair plans A and B. Because I would be offline and out of cell-phone range for 6 days, we pre-approved additional work & options, if needed, to move on to plan C.When we raced back through Barstow, the following Sunday, the shop was closed, but everything was exactly as promised. Key hidden in the right spot... Old parts in a box inside the van... Receipts for everything on the seat... And best of all, the cheapest repair option worked out & the van ran smooth and safe all the way home to Northern Cal.Thank you Midas! I now have a dependable honest shop to recommend to friends en route to SW rafting, desert trips, and Joshua Tree NP.

Very disappointed in the way Midas handled my two online attempts for an appointment. They never got back to me. I didnt want to give them any stars, but I have to at least give them one so Im able to post my review.

My husband took our truck here for wheel alignment and balance unfortunately we spent the entire day waiting for it to be done... He was there at 8am on a today and was told itll be 2 hours because they had a couple cars ahead of us from the weekend. So I picked him up so he wouldnt have to wait there. After 3 hours passed with no call from Midas we decided to see what was going on. We were told that it still hasnt been looked at! And that the time we were given was an estimate only... Its almost 6pm and our truck isnt done!! Never again.. Id rather pay extra for the dealership to do it.

Bad experience got work done at this place and light came on not even the week after will not recommend nobody to this place

Honest dealer. One of there employees accidentally hit a customers car. The guy stopped and told his boss. I watched the whole thing. They tried to fix the dent. Ended up giving the customer a voucher for repair. Honesty counts.

I have three vehicles that Ive taken here to the Barstow Midas. Their team is always great! Theyre always so nice when I call or go in for a service, theyre efficient, theyre quick, and they have very reasonable pricing. I have never once felt like theyve tried to over charge me, or given me any wrong information. I will continue to bring my vehicles here because I trust them and their judgement. Not to mention, I really love that they have women on their team as well, and it makes me feel like they respect and treat their women customers the same as they do their male customers. If youre a woman reading this, you know how important it is to feel like theyre not just trying to sell you stuff. Thank you Barstow Midas!!

Had my old truck serviced (very pleased) I like going here because if they see and issue and it does not need to be fixed right then they dont try to make you spend more money. They let you know they just need to watch it.

We encountered some overheating and A/C issues in Barstow on a hot 110 F Saturday afternoon in August. We didnt know how bad it was and were hoping to get a shop to look at it before heading north into the unforgiving desert with a loaded van full of 7 people. After calling around and learning everyone was closed or booked, someone suggested we try Midas. On the phone she told us to come in and theyd fit us in. Our long wait was comfortable and cool and they made sure we had water. They diagnosed the issue and remedied it for us. We made it home to Utah that same night safely with no further issue.

I took my car for a tune up and oil change 2 months ago now my car is shaking I called them they said if I wanted to find out whats wrong with my car I had to pay $140.00 just to find out why its not working right

They were thorough & finished in a reasonable amount of time, there prices were pretty reasonable, & they offer discounts & rebates; Personally I was so very happy they didnt first take all day, & especially didnt ask me to leave my car there all day, basically squeezing me in when they had extra time. Instead they only took like an hour, hour in half tops. I really appreciate that cause people- MYSELF; DOESNT LIKE HAVING TO LEAVE MY CAR ALL DAY LONG BEING ABLE TO DO/TAKE CARE OF CERTAIN THINGS I HAVE TO DO,ESPECIALLY HAVING TO GET A RIDE TO DROP OFF & PICK UP MY VEHICLE. THATS REALLY COULD BE AN INCONVENIENCE TO ALL INVOLVED!!!! I DONT UNDERSTAND why THEY CANT JUST CALL U WHEN THEIR READY TO ACTUALLY LOOK/ REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE, I FEEL THAT WOULD be ALOT MORE OF AN CONVENIENCE TO ALL PARTIES INVOLED; JUST A SUGGESTION TO ALL OTHER mechanics out. My experience at the Barstow Midas was awesome and absolutely worth it. The manager Daniel Chuy, personally diagnosed my car and found a solution for me within 15 minutes. I had gone to a mechanic prior to this, who kept my car for two days and could not give me a solution. I am very happy with my experience at Midas in Barstow, and will be going there from now on!

I had a bad experience with a local mobile mechanic. Once I got my car towed to Midas, they kept me updated, fixed my car and got me on my way. Very professional and great customer service!

I spent 3 hours waiting outside with an appointment because no one wore masks in the tiny waiting room this place has horrible service cant comment on whether they do a good job or not they never once looked at my vehicle in the 3 hours I was there not to mention I waited a week to even get in. Very nice and reliable and very responsible

Had to flush and change my transmission fluid in my 2015 nissan Sentra. We all know that Nissans CVT transmissions are sensitive as hell but they took my car in and did an amazing job to it. No slipping of gears and no grinding noise and they had my car done the same day I brought it in. I highly recommend Midas to anyone that needs car maintenance. Amazing and very professional service.

Dropped my car off at about 10:30am because there was a power steering leak. By 3:24pm the next day they still hadnt had my car back on the lift to see which hose was leaking so of course no parts were ordered (which I was told would be 2 more days) . When I called initially before even bringing my car in I blatantly told them it was a power steering leak (which I knew becasue the power fluid reservoir kept going empty after only a few days). Instead they tried telling me it was an oil leak, even though Id been keeping tabs on my oil level and it had been fine. So there was obviously a lack of proper communication with staff. The excuse I got as to the delay was that they are busy and understaffed. Thats not my problem. Not bringing my car here ever again.

We have been using this shop for over a year. They are very helpful and great to use. They are quick to resolve any issues. They have gone out of thier way to make sure the service they have provided is done right.

I took my car in for a/c repairs and the typical something else goes wrong while one problem is being fixed happened. The lights were left on overnight in our vehicle and ever since our battery hasn’t kept a charge. It’s a two year old battery. The a/c works great after the repairs, but they didn’t really care about the battery issue that only started after that night in their shop. They told me to bring it in for a charge, I work full time on the military base and I don’t have the time to go in. My car wouldn’t start a few miles down the street front the shop, so I had to walk to the auto zone and purchase a battery charger and jumstart kit. What was just an a/c repair has turned into an additional car battery replacement. I won’t be going back, nor will I refer any of my colleagues to this place. In fact, I’ll be sure to advice them against this establishment for all car repairs.

I came in without an appointment and am from out of state. From the very beginning the service was excellent. The shop owner was very knowledgeable. The staff was great. They test drove my vehicle twice. Scanned all the codes and corrected the problem. They did all this knowing that since I am out of state I most likely would not be a repeat customer and charged only $25 . I hope everyone in the local area use these guys. Cannot say enough good about this shop and being from Texas that says a lot.

My check engine light was on and the code was an Evap system code. I took my vehicle in to have it checked at Midas who i already use as my go to repair shop. They found some problems with my system and made repairs and soon after my light was back on so i brought it back into Midas to have it checked at no extra cost i might add. They found an additional problem after an intense smoke test and repaired it at no charge. I have always considered Midas as a professional shop but this was going beyond that call. I reccomend Midas for anything you have going on with your vehicle. The Midas team in Barstow is the best we have in town.

Save your money! Go somewhere else! Taking advantage of being the only place open during quarantine. Charged double what I’ve ever paid for an oil change. Did a terrible job, took 45min for bare minimum effort, and not only did they not close it but they didn’t put a screw back so the plastic cover is just dragging underneath my car.

On our way to San Diego we had a car issue. We stopped and they were outstanding at helping. They were busy but worked us in, and even delayed their lunch to help get us get on the road again. Even knowing we were from out of town they did not take the opportunity to over charge us. The pricing was extremely fair and we arrived at our destination without any further incident. I highly recommend this place knowing that they could have taken advantage of us and did not.
