Upon entering the Office of New Highlands Self Storage in Bartow, FL I noticed that it was organized in such a way that both information and supplies were tidy and easy to access. Mr. Juan Perez greeted me and engaged in conversation to help determine the unit size most suitable for my needs. He answered all of my questions in a very professional manner and thoroughly explained each portion of the contract along with any associated fees. After signing the rental agreement, he explained the gate entry/exit process and escorted me around the well-kept facility to assure that I knew the location of my unit as well as address any addition questions/concerns which may have come to mind. Having used storage unit rentals in various location in the past, in my opinion New Highlands Self-Storage sets the standard of professionalism, security, and cleanliness for all other like facilities to follow.

This place has all of your standard storage spaces 5x10 to 10x20 etc, but also has 20x30 just in case you need to house your car or need a storage for your boat. The parking lot is big enough to get around in a large truck if need be. Highly recommended.

This is the second time Ive had to rent a storage unit from New Highlands Self Storage. The first time was awesome. Everything was done to accommodate me. This second time I was in such a hurry and didnt know which size I would need, but once again they came through. Mr. Gonzalez was the agent and he stayed stay late just to make sure I was able to unload my things before he left. He even stopped by when I was offloading to make sure I was able to fit all of my things inside the unit. I cant say enough good things that I have experienced personally about New Highlands storage. Raul is the best! I was trapped in North Carolina because of the hurricane and really didnt know when i was able to make it back this way. He gave me his word that he would have the unit I needed available but he wanted me to be careful traveling to Florida because that was most important. Great experience! Reserving a storage unit at New Highlands was the easiest part of our move! Communication with Juan was great. Saturday evening, while our movers were unloading the moving truck, we realized that all of our belongings were not going to fit in our storage units. My husband and I were freaking out a bit because the office was closed for the day. My husband suggested calling the after hours number and Juan was able to assign a storage unit over the phone. Customer service at New Highlands is top notch! I highly recommend this storage facility!

This is my second time around with this company and Im very overwhelmed.

Over the last year it has become very very confusing as to the business model of this company. I have received repeated unsolicited emails about prices increases at least three times a year. The price increases do not include any additional services for the increase or an explanation as to how the increase benefits the tenants. Just last week another unsolicited email about paying through ACH without any reason. No mention of the encryption being used by New Highlands to keep the account secure.As all of these changes take place, when you call the manager, who has done a GREAT job for the 8 years I have know him, he has NO knowledge of the announcements in the unsolicited email. It is hard to believe that a management company would share NO information with the local managers who would be able to explain the program to the tenants especially since the management company hides in their ivory tower with NO contact with the actual customers. How major decisions can be made without the input of the mangers, or even talking to some tenants at random, seems to say that the management company has no regard for those tenants actually paying their salaries.If the owners, who are ultimately responsible for the company, continue to allow unsolicited emails and program changes without regard to the tenants eventually the tenants will begin to leave for one of the other 5 storage companies within 10 minutes.One final, important, note. When a tenant opts out of unsolicited emails then the company MUST stop sending them or as the FTC has stated there will be a substantial fine for each subsequent email. Do the calculations on all of the units filing a complaint with the FTC. That should concern the owners and management companies.

Been renting a space for a few month now. Place is clean, affordable, easy to get to and staff is friendly. Recommend it!!FYI- if you are having a big mover come, the place is not able to have a semi enter the storage area. The roads have too much pitch for drainage and trailer cannot make the turns.

Have had many storage companies I used around the country but New Highland is by far the best one I have used. I talk to the manager Juan all of the time with my special needs concerning space and he is always helpful and provides the correct space for me. (I have had between 2 and 6 spaces while storing here.) I have just started taking advantage of the truck rents and that has been a very helpful service. THANKS to all at New Highland.
