Love this Store/Restaurant. When you walk through the door you feel like you stepped into a market in Mexico. They have everything from Gifts, including Beautiful Leather Goods, to Groceries. They even have a butchers market so if you are looking for fresh meat they have everything, also including fresh cracklings. Step into their restaurant for the most Authentic Mexican Food in Baton Rouge it is really good. Great service family friendly I cant say enough about this Place. It is very clean. Great grocery store if youre looking for authentic Hispanic foods, but we went for the tacos! La Tiendita is a taqueria inside the grocery store and makes a killer taco. Hand made fresh tortillas with fresh ingredients! We are on a quest for the best and most authentic taco in Baton Rouge and we have found a contender!

I highly recommend Valdez Market. I go there to get beef shanks for my two year old GSD she loves meat and bones and the butchers are very knowledgeable butchers and if you can not speak Spanish they always have someone to help you get whatever you need. Yes I highly recommend this family owned business.

Wonderful little store! I had forgotten to get carrots for my recipe that I was cooking & was hoping this little store had some frozen carrots Since it was so close to my house. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have a small little fresh produce area and an excellent selection of meat. The steaks and roasts were to die for. Everyone was very friendly And I was out in a flash.I also noticed that half of the store is a small Mexican restaurant. I plan on hitting that up really soon because I bet it’s excellent!

We went in for a specific item in the market and wound up eating at the restaurant connected to it.Seriously, delicious, authentic mexican! Awesome choices, great prices and flavors that will have you begging to come back!

This place is great. I am referring to the grocery store. There is also a restaurant that I havent tried yet. This place probably has the best Latino product selection in Baton Rouge.

Went yesterday got chorizo fresh. That is all i ate yesterday twice was chorizo. 7 hours later throwing up diharea and major stomach cramps. Food poisoning beware of there meats

This place seems to have it all. There are aisles and aisles of Hispanic groceries. They also offer hot food and there is a lady that makes fresh tamales right in front of the store. Their produce side is somewhat small in my opinion, but maybe its just out of season. They have a meat counter where you can order chorizo or marinated steak or just plain cuts of meat. They also offer services to families who have relatives in Mexico.I usually just make tacos, but I would definitely come here if I ever expand on Hispanic flavors. I did find this strawberry aleo Vera drink with strawberry and oh man I would make the trip for that all by itself.

Broad variety of very different & assorted items & services being sold & provided @ this store/place of business. However, if youre not very familiar and/or advanced/fluent in reading & speaking Spanish then this is probably not the place for you to shop, do business at, and/or visit (only unless you happen to have someone that you can bring w/you when you do go there such as a companion, spouse, friend, etc is advanced or very fluent in Spanish).

Unless you are of a Mexican heritage, the staff people ignore you and are rude. So sad because they have lost my business and others in my family.

After eating here for years today is the last day. I got some tacos de carne asada like I have been getting since before the august 2016 flood. The tacos were no carne asada they were another type of meat and the flavor was not what I was looking for or wanted. The tacos went up 50 cents and when you checkout they dont always give reciepts. I was very angry to have someone tell me something that is not true. The waitress and people working here are nice but the NEW owner should have never went up on tacos and made the meat different. This situation that occured really messed my day up.

Perfect in every way: food, drinks, atmosphere, cost, etc. Ive never been disappointed here. It should be on your list of priorities when visiting BATON ROUGE
