Lived in Bayonne for years. Walked in one day for a sandwich and salad and was hooked. The salads are always fresh and delicious. The rest of the menu tastes excellent. Will always make a special trip to come back. I travel from down the shore now just for the food.

My friend and i arrived today to find the restaurant closed. However E offered to provide the same menu in the cafe area. We thanked him but said no because we were looking for the ambiance of the restaurant. Well, he took us to the dining room, turned on the lights as well as some Frank Sinatra playing in the background. We had wonderful service, great food and a very memorable experience!! This is what can happen when you dine locally with a restaurant that aims to please. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Buon Appetito is a great family restaurant. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Nico & Mossimo are amazing! We are happy to have such a wonderful neighborhood restaurant so close to home.

This place food is like an Italian grandmother I never had. Love it. I’m just happy too happy.

While visiting Bayonne, I had the balsamic glazed grilled chicken, mozzarella and roasted red peppers sandwich one day and The Elwin (chorizo, egg, cheese) on a French toast bagel the next. Both were incredible and I wish I could have tried more items from this spot. Bellissimo.

I left there choking on broken toothpicks. It was very dark in there, and the lights were turned so low that you couldnt see. The 70 year old lady at my table ordered a sandwich. She had no idea that there were toothpicks in it because nobody said anything and you wouldnt be able to see anyway. The bread had many seeds and it was very dark. I pulled a piece out of my mouth that was 2 inches long and now have to go to the ER to check for other part. This is so dangerous and this should not have happened. She said she had no idea about any toothpicks because you couldnt see anything at all. If my intestines get pierced how will they explain that.

Food is great. I do however have an issue with being charged a $5 delivery fee and have to wait 2 1/2 hours for lunch. Ordered at 1030. Got here at one. Not ordering again.

Make sure to order something simple enough for them to handle. This does not include the Caesar salad. Paid extra for the breaded chicken, got grilled. Romaine lettuce? Nope. Iceberg. Parmesan cheese on your Caesar salad? Nope. I literally just spent 16 bucks to have a bowl of iceberg lettuce with some chicken delivered. They did remember the croutons. Wouldn’t recommend this place if you expect to get what you want.

Since living in Hudson County I have missed eating at a quality Italian restaurant. I had heard about Buon Appetito for many years but have not had the chance to eat there until today. All I can say is the food and place were EXCELLENT. Traditional Italian food at acceptable prices. The staff was friendly and made me feel like I have been a lifelong customer. The food was great and the freshness was apparent in the flavors. I plan on making this place my go to place for the best..well almost best food besides mine, place in Hudson County.

I figured I would give this place a try and get some takeout for lunch today. I really wish I had just gone to Fontana instead, like I usually do. $47 and the only thing worth eating was the chocolate mousse. The salad was wilted and full of stale croutons. The coconut shrimp consisted of 5 butterflied coconut shrimp, in a container with half a can of undrained diced pineapples, so they were just a big soggy mess. Then the pizza was literally the worst pizza I have ever tried to eat. It was salty, dry, but somehow so incredibly chewy at the same time. I couldnt even finish one slice. Thanks for wasting my time and money. I will never order from here again.

What a disappointment!! We used to eat here at least twice a month during the two years we lived in Kearny and always praised it highly to our friends. The food, service, and ambiance had always been excellent and the huge portions of succulent fried calamari were a special treat. Because we were going to be in Jersey City for an errand we decided to make the trip down to Bayonne for calamari. We got there at about 5:40 only to be told that the restaurant closes at 5:30 (even though it says 7:00 on the internet) but we were welcome to sit in the deli. Hmm-m not what I came for, so we ordered two orders of calamari to go and took it to the park. Right away it was clear something was different. Even though they were still nice and warm, these werent the familiar juicy, dark golden, perfectly fried rings that I had looked forward to. These were pale, skinny, dried out imposters. At first bite I thought I had gotten a piece of the spine by mistake but I soon learned that underneath the coating every piece had the texture of hard plastic. My husbands portion was the same. Yuck! Its clear Grandmas not in the kitchen anymore. As I said...What a disappointment. Will not go back. :(

I ordered from this place all the time food is good change it up I order grill chicken masala watery no mushroom just water down love everything else but do not order the masala was very surprised with it

I just spent $30 on 1/2 of ham and Swiss with Mayo and antipasto salad. The sandwich bread was Stale, not to mention it was a wish sandwich! When I ordered I asked multiple time no peppers, no onions and itl. bread on the side. What I got was limp lettuce and tomato’s, Drowning in liquid, even though I asked for the dressing on the side. The antipasto also had peppers and onions, the cold cuts weren’t even cut and not a piece of itl bread in sight! When I called they said they would send over the bread, I asked not to do that considering their delivery driver was in a leg cast!!! Absolutely horrible

Went to my local favorite spot buon appetito today for a quick morning bite and when I was about to leave the amazing people there offered to let me try the fresh batch of zeppoles and these were great !! The dough tasted amazing and the texture was perfect had a nice crisp to it. They’ll definitely have me coming back often during the week to get these ! You should too, you’ll thank me later! Definitely coming back here! I would say one of the best spots in Bayonne. Loveeeee their pizza! Their tomato sauce on point, their sandwiches are actually WORTH $20 dollars they are so big you have to share it with someone else. Highly recommended!

Ok giving it 3 stars as I did get a fresh sandwich and the young lady was extremely nice but I was looking for breakfast as the sign says BREAKFAST so I parked put money in the meter to find out they just put up that sign just doing bagels for now! Waste of my time so wound up ordering a sandwich before I starved! Cover up the word BREAKFAST til your ready to serve it. Understand it is a dog-eat-dog world in all businesses but especially restaurants in NJ with no indoor dining but people see advertising breakfast go thru the hassle for parking, paying to find out no breakfast platters. Again the young girl was super sweet to all her customers as I was observing wether it was the tables or pickup I like that will try the place again soon!

The prices were over exaggerated, and they were a little rude. The only thing that they had that was non-alcoholic was water. The food was the only good part.

The service at Boun Appetito is by far professional! They treated me like family and went the extra mile in service and food prep! Boun Appetitos true Italian cuisine is the best Ive had in NJ!

Came here for my friends birthday after hearing great reviews, and I was not disappointed. The servers were friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. The bartenders made several different drinks and gave us multiple suggestions throughout the night, all of which were great! I will be dining here on a regular basis from now on.

Magic fountain is Bayonne’s residents favorite ice cream place. There is no indoor seating. They do have a few tables to sit outside. If your in Bayonne and you want ice cream Magic Fountain is the place to go.

Authentic Italian for sure! Great sandwiches - I love the deli specials and beyond quality food. The bread is so good! Vodka martini is popular and was recommended to me - I see why! The food was excellent. Wait staff were very good and very friendly. They asked if food was left over you want to take it home, we didnt have to ask. They were Johnny on the spot.

This place was recommended to me and it DID NOT disappoint. I ordered the classic Chicken Parm with penne pasta and it was delicious. Very good sauce and the plate was just enough. I got a chance to meet the owner Doug. Very nice and stand up guy. The bartender, Mora was very polite and pleasant as well. Definitely recommend this place...!

I eat in this spot a lot since I work close by. I got to say their service is always good and they keep the place well organized at all times. Prices are fair and they serve big portions.

I’m looking at all the positive reviews and wondering if we ordered food from the same place! Ordered to get a really nice meal, from a top Bayonne restaurant. Shrimp francese was bland, served with rice not pasta. Not to be mean but if we wanted something bland, served with rice we would have gone to one of the hundred Chinese food places in the area.Also ordered cheese ravioli, also bland. Tasted like frozen food, which leads me to believe that nothing we ordered was fresh. Portion size, very small!Very disappointed! I wonder if it’s different when you dine in, because I heard from my fiancée ‘They used to be good’I don’t know. I respect everyone’s reviews but I really wonder if we ate at the same restaurant.

They came by several times to make sure we were having a good time and that are food was good, which it was! I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster ravioli in vodka sauce. It was definitely one of the best vodka sauces Ive ever had. Furthermore, there desserts were top notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

The most okay-est restaurant in Bayonne. They have the benefit of being the only decent italian joint in the city. Where else are you going for a decent sit down italian dinner? Mona Lisa? They used to be fantastic years ago.

Huge portions. Decent prices. The food is full of flavor. Great buffet selection and good menu to pick from. Also the service was good. I look forward to eating there again.

Our server was a wonderful young lady but the food was not like it used to be when i lived in Bayonne. I was disappointed as this was always a favorite place for me.

It was empty at noon on Saturday. The Lobster Ravioli was great. The butter was good too. The veal was thinner than I had expected and it surprised me but the cutlet-like fried surface. My husband and I were too full to try the desserts. The waiters were friendly.

This place is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Highly recommended for anyone in Bayonne! Try the pizza!

I had my mom’s 60th birthday party at Buon Appetito in Bayonne, NJ yesterday and I could not have been more pleased. The food and the staff exceeded my expectations in every way. The manager, Enwil, was so accommodating and went above and beyond to help make the party go flawlessly. He was so attentive and actually helped make the surprise for my mom a success! The family style servings were very generous and everyone raved about the food. The whole staff, the waitress’, waiters and bartenders were phenomenal. I wish I could remember their names to give them a shout out as well but I’m awful with names. I can’t say enough about how great of an experience it was working with Buon Appetito, from the planning to the execution. I would highly recommend Buon Appetito as a restaurant and a party option to anyone.

I am a frequent over-the-phone patron of Buon Appetito. I love, love, love their Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. It is always so seasoned to perfection. But that lobster bisque is HEAVEN. I wish it was available on other days but waiting til Friday is worth the wait.I always receive my food promptly. The staff is always so pleasant. Great place!

Absolute horrible service, called at 1:00 ordered only two heros, called at 2:00 they said the driver left already and then called back at 2:15 and the person said only then did they leave. The delivery person still is not here . Going to cancel the order at this point .
