The new owners are so cheap. This is a photo of my medium soft serve. It is supposed to be swirled to the top like every Carvel I’ve ever been too and what is shown in all of the advertisements. Notice how there are barely any sprinkles. I’ve been here 3 times and every time my ice cream is melted and not swirled to the top. It is family owned so they are clearly trying to cut corners on spending money and I never had any problems with the previous owners.

Ive been to great carvels who give you proper sized sundaes, this place did not know how to make a sundae and I gave them two tries. They refuse to fill up the ice cream cups. Everyone goes to carvel for a decent sized sundae and you pay for extra toppings. These workers sprinkle, and I mean sprinkle, toppings on. They also do not fill up the cups properly and work extremely slow. It is like the owner instructs the workers to not give out the proper amount and to take their time with each order. So much for a nice Labor Day treat. Time to call Carvel corporate! These guys cheap out on servings and give out melted ice cream. Won’t ever come back and I’ve been going to this Carvel for years. Shameful.

Went here for a large sundae. They barely filled my cup and when I brought it home there was a large piece of hair in it. I took it back and they refused a refund. I also paid for 3 toppings which I expected to get a decent amount of. There were barely any toppings. I really recommend that this Carvel go to any other Carvel and get trained on how to serve ice cream. I’m not sure how the owner was sold this business without proper training or maybe he is trying to save money like the other reviews say? I don’t know, but I’ve never been to a Carvel and left disappointed. Hopefully they can get a trainer in there or something and possibly get some hair nets if they aren’t going to shave/ tie their hair back properly.

Great service and friendly staff. Was craving ice cream and went in 20 minutes before they closed and they were able to still serve me. Really appreciated it!

New owners don’t know how to serve ice cream and have their kids doing it for them. My sundae was a melted mess. Won’t be back.

Just bought a cookies and cream ice cream and I almost threw up, there was a piece of food in my ice cream it was disgusting. Not happy at all the service lately has been horrible

Service was quick and friendly! The young lady that serves me was training another worker and somehow managed to only have to state my order once! That stood out to me.

Order an ice cream from this place and it had a long hair inside of it. Went back and asked for a refund and was refused one. The ice cream does not seem to be as fresh, freezer burned in recent times. It seems to be under new management. Extremely disappointing and unbelievable service.

My mother waited an hour, the male manager didn’t know what a Vanilla Malt was, he kept saying milkshake?? Instead of giving us junior cups, he gave us baby cups!! The woman was more helpful in trying to get our order, but I’ll never wait an hour to be served again!!

A nice little ice cream place. Soft serve vanilla Ice cream is good. The customer service was acceptable. I avoid peak times so theres never been a line when I go. Prices are a tad higher compared to alternatives like dairy queen. My only complaint is that they no longer serve Cinnabon, which was pretty much my main reason for going all the time.

Basic ice cream shop, youll find what you need but the service will not impress. You can just expect a grab and go.

Without a doubt my favorite ice cream. A little expensive but worth it. Their only fault is presentation as some of the staff have trouble with operating the soft serve machine, dispensing instead a lackluster cone missing the swirl and peaks like the advertised renderings. Other than that the staff is attentive, friendly and helpful, offering samples to taste in case one is unsure which of the many flavors to try, and lets not forget their legendary ice cream cakes which come in many different varieties and designs, all of which are readily available, always fresh and sure to please plus they come with extra crunchies.

Had the large fudge sundae - A LA RAT HAIR - Manager Maria, ever so nonchalantly, refused to give me a refund as she pointed to a NO REFUNDS sign. She did give me a replacement ice cream which she said cant have rat hair because it is factory sealed from the carvel factory. How reassuring! ABSOLUTFLY WORST experience Ive ever had at a carvel. Dont worry folks, Im reporting this establishment to the FDA. I really wonder what an inspection would find or how many children have gotten sick from the ice cream at this establishment

Not the original Carvel you grew up with.This Bayonne Carvel is far from the original I grew up with. The ice cream products dont seem fresh tasting to me. In my opinion, they dont even taste the same as they once did. The service in this store is not good; the kids that work here make you feel unwelcome. They also seem to lack the knowledge of their own products when you ask questions. :-( But my brother and 2 little nephews love the chocolate flying saucers with extra chocolate crunchies on the side so I will continue to be a customer.

Good place for ice cream and shakes....never buy their hot chocolate. I payed $5 for 2 small cups of there water and powder. I then asked for some whip cream and the girl gave me like 1 strand and charged 60 cents for it. The service is most of the time decent, but that girl that day kicked us out right when we sat down. We already werent happy with the price of some water and powder (and whip cream), and right when we sat down she told us to leave because they were closing. Get yourself the ice cream, but never get the hot chocolate. Its tasteless.
