09/02/2021I dont know, I really want to give Lidl a higher rating but just cant seem to muster up the reason to do so.Perhaps I came at a bad time as it was quite late in the evening mid week. One of the items I was very interested in getting. Lamb, was lacking in quantity. Other, more ethnic (read German) items - there were not many. I thought they would have had more in this department. I think Id found more German products at an Aldi.The place was clean, Ill give them that.The store is not all that set up for tractor/trailers as this is what I drive and really cant fault them for that as this store is located more in a non-commercial neighborhood.Yeah, I took a lot of pictures of the wares on the shelf. Just check them prices...about average, I think.Okay, Ill change my review to 4 stars ... just because I am nice.

Not your average grocery store. Most times are Lidl branded. The prices are great, and even at 12:00pm on a Saturday the place was dead. Awesome store

I love this store. It is so convenient, and the environment is peaceful. They have a lot of nice things, and although you cant find every name brand item, they do offer some. You can get most essential items and nice meat as well. They do not have a lot of variety for certain products, but that is okay because you can go to another store for those things. Nevertheless, they have some great things that I dont see elsewhere. Some of the seasonal items are my favorites. They have very good German chocolate. Oh, and they have some good international items that other stores actually dont carry, and they are my faves as well. The bakery items were also good as well as the frozen desserts. And, mostly all of the Lidl brand products that I had were very good. 🥰

This place is nice and clean. It is so much better than the one on Staten Island.

First visit to Lidl in the US, this is like an XL version of Lidls in the UK. Great selections for lower prices. I hope the company will continue its sustainability efforts. Tip: check out the vast array of cheeses, frozen seafood and bakery goods section (tho I wish the ones they have in the UK are here).

Great experience every time I shop.Staff friendly, helpful and store is clean, isles clear, if they r stocking staff move out of the way!!!Know your prices, get familiar with store layout.Organic produce and regular products most r from USA or Canada.

Love some of the different items they sell but store is always out of stock on so many things. Go there a few times a week to get fresh baked bread. Its awesome

The bad: Always only just two check outs/ customers cut the line and block the aisles/ you pay for bags/ limited produce / weird non food section is a waste of space. No hand sanitizer or cart wipes. Very hard to get there on foot. No public transportation unless you like running across the interstate to get on the light rail. Oddball in store brand. Hard to comprehend its name brand equal.The good: cheap! Cheap! CHEAP! Its clean too. Decent Bakery. Ok restroom. Enough carts. Lots of interesting European items. Good lighting. All carts seem to work.

Lidl is great. I wish they had self checkout at this location. There is always a bit of a line as they only keep 2-3 checkouts open at a time.The one thing about Lidl is they have a somewhat limited selection so if you have a specific recipe needing specific items you might not find everything you need.They have rotating weekly specials and featured products. They also have additional weekend deals if youre okay with the extra crowd.

Great prices! Not really big on name brand but you will find a few here and there. Most items are of lesser known brands as well as the Lidl brand items, which is why things are priced very well. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to save money on groceries or anyone who isnt concerned with name brand.

Small and quaint. Reasonable prices and good products. Bakery is small and very cute, we love everything weve eaten from there (e.g. french bread, donuts, etc). Excellent prices on meat products and great quality. Everything I really need! Great location and easy to get to.

I always find something I want or need. Love the quirkiness of this store. Fresh or potted flowers, fresh or frozen fruits, vegetables, meat. How about a summer blouse or sandle. Dont forget the chips, dips, cheese or sweets.

I usually dont review grocery stores. But this one is because of exceptionally great staff. Had a very good experience. The products are good and value for money.

Best place to bring kids to shop for some items cheaper than other shops. Little kids cart make shopping fun and adults dont need to push anything. Favorite of my 2 kids.

Nice store with fresh meat, produce and bakery. Lidl brand items at a considerable discount. Ample parking.

Okay place to pick a few things up. Not a great produce selection and theres never enough check outs open. All in all, a fine place to shop in Bayonne

Can always find a bargain here. And they often have interesting foods, like European chocolates, frozen Indian dishes, fish on cedar planks.

Very small store with limited stock of items. No beer/alcohol available. Bakery items were good and had a nice selection of fresh baked goods. They also had many items that are not generally in your typical grocery store.Having said that, they do have a lot of items that are cultural so if you are looking for something specific to their cultural genre, you may find it there.Overall though, we were very underwhelmed. Probably would not make a return visit for our needs, but wish them all the best!

Love Lidl. I do most of my shopping and I get orders delivered. The shelves are always stocked. Definitely my go to spot. Never have a problem with delivery. The store is very clean and the restroom is also very clean. Staff are super nice. Im Thankful they are so close to me.

The Lidl in Bayonne is I feel above the rest. When shopping here the experience is always a positive one ....Items that you come to love and buy ...guess what they have them on a consistent basis ....the prices are on point and the store is always clean...not to mention the bakery section which never falls short of amazing do pick something up for your ride home ....

Came to this location to take my DISABLED brother food shopping. Not only was he yelled at for putting cookies in the bag without a paper (even though he bought all the cookies on the shelf). He ate one and was accused of stealing a 59 cent cookie that is going to be paid for along with the other cookies upon leaving. Then my daughter accidentally broke the packaging on the mini tomatoes as I tried to help my brother with the cookie issue. The store employee proceeded to speak to minor child and once again said dont forget to pay for the cookie I never been so embarrassed trying to help my disabled brother while having 2 small children isnt easy. Store employees should be trained on how to Handel people with disabilities.

Hidden gem of bayonne. Not many people know the brand, therefore they tend to go shop in Walmart or shop rite. Little do they know the prices here are way lower, while you still get good quality product. Definitely get the Lidl app it applies your coupons for you automatically. And every 3rd purchase you get $20 off your total.

I could not believe HOW RUDE the employees here were. I like the store and I like the prices, but my goodness, I havent been treated this rudely in a long time. Bad enough for me to review it.If you dont want to be here, get another job. Ill keep shopping here because of the prices and environment, but they really need to tell their employees to not be so nasty to customers

I love the fact that you can find random stuff in the back, you never know whats on sale. On the other hand, its not going to be there the next time you look for it. Their produces okay and the prices are generally fair. However theyve recently discontinued carrying the cereal in a bag, that is gluten free and that was one of the number one things I went there for...Its sort of has the warehouse feel, but not as nice as the big warehouse stores.Their house brand is crivit for a lot of merchandise.

Wonderful selection of quality goods at fair and sustainable prices. Here youll find food from various cultures that can suit nearly any dietary need. While the selection isnt as large as say, Shoprite, it is fulfilling nonetheless.

Many brands that I am not familiar with at cheaper prices. Other brands that are popular at fair prices. The store offers mostly foods but there are areas that offer clothing and other non consumable items. I was at the store in Bayonne and I liked it.

It’s clean and feels like it has a more modern build out than most grocery stores. Options are very limited and there is way to much processed everything and the fresh produce section is really small. It’s totally lacking in whole foods and real food.

It’s a great brand chain market from Germany. It’s my favorite supermarket ever

I always love shopping at Lidil clean and workers are helpful and very respectful

Very different food shopping experience

I have been enjoying shopping here since there opening. I dont go here for all my grocery needs, but there are some great products here that they dont have anywhere else. From my experience, Great frozen department, frozen dinners, ice cream, cereal, Orange juice, potato chips, baked goods, fruits and vegetables, etc... I find the prices better for a lot of things here but not everything. Im surprised that it isnt busier than it has been when I go there. I expect not enough people know its there or havent tried it out. I recommend everyone give it a try. Even though I do like the short and fast lines and the time I can get in and out. Enjoy

I didnt know about this place until yesterday. If you are coming from the Costco across the street, you wouldnt know unless you looked it up online. You probably wouldnt want to go because the crossing is a bit of a nightmare. As for the store itself, it reminds me of Aldi, which is great since I probably dont have to go to North Bergen anymore to scratch that itch. Good produce, some nice bread options, frozen section is substantial, I think its a great addition to the Bayonne/Jersey City area.

Good place. For some reason, and thats on me, I expected it to have more brands of the items they sold. Selection was fine. Prices were good too. I went early, so there werent many people. 5 stars I give to something like Whole Foods. Theyre expensive, but their varieties on items can be mind boggling. Would I recommend shopping here. The answer is yes.

Great new supermarket, they have a really good selection of different items and good prices, the bakery products was really fresh. And found some good deals on seasonal items.

Clean, not crowded, everyone wears mask. First time in a different kind of store. Right next to the Costco we normally use. Different brands. I like it and will return.

Not many selections but the ones theyve got seem good/healthy. You can find good german products.

Lidl is the best. I only shop there now because everything is so fresh and well priced. I love shopping there.

Never heard of this place and came here with my friend that is a penny pincher . Its across the street from a Costco so they kind of opened in a odd spot. Alot of good prices on good things but there produce section does need some work.

My first time going to Lidl was good. I was able to find products that I needed. I just wish that there was a Lidl in Manhattan.

Love this store. Just dont go looking for something in particular. They do have the essentials but its better for discovering new things. There store brands are excellent. The baked goods are fabulous. I am guilty of overdoing the imported cookies! Do not go here hungry.

Such a nice grocery store with fresh baked goods and little bit of everything.

Small inexpensive grocery store. Prices are better when you buy Lidl branded goods, other than that they are competitive to Wal mart. A big plus is they have some items other stores dont carry. Worth a look or two.

LIDL REVIEW:The store was neat and clean they have sanitizing stations on the outside where the carts are and a sanitizing station in the foyer area when you first walk in the store. It’s bright and vibrant inside. Yes they have their own brand items but they also have name brands as well. You can actually do ALL of your shopping there. Prices are reasonable and comparable. The produce is “ehhhh”. I had to look through tons of grapes to find a good bunch. That was the only down side for me. The meat and seafood looked good. Dairy and frozen looked good. Service was good! Will visit this store again!

Good products and decent prices

I loved the supermarket when it first opened but lots of fruits and vegetables being sold are rotten with mold. I made a complaint to the manager a few weeks ago about rotten grapes however, they weren’t taken off of the shelves. Very disappointing.

The prices are great and the staff are very nice. But thats where the good ends. You cant really find everything you need. The produce selection is terrible. And quite literally everything is plastic wrapped. It also feels incredibly cramped and tight even when its not particularly busy.

The isles and traffic flow does not make for safe (COVID19) and comfortable shopping experience. Every time I walk in, I can’t wait to leave.Decent bakery though.

I almost want to leave a bad review so no one else goes because this is my new “go-to” store in Bayonne. Prices cheaper than any other store around especially for produce and perishable goods. The customer service I’ve received is top notch and it’s just an all around easy store to navigate with a plethora of different and exciting things to try.

Reasonable prices...especially breads & pastries. Meats are vacuum wrapped. Bought a broom - manufactured in Virginia. U.S.A.!!! Highly recommend Lidl.

Was beyond excited to get this store here in Bayonne. Was disappointed as many of the european favorite foods were not there. I was hoping we would finally have some great european foods here. Some but not enough. Prices are fair. Shopping experience was great also. Socially distanced and clean. Only complaint is they don’t have the same european foods available

I came to shop on Thanksgiving eve. Very nice set up,very clean, & brightly lit. The produce looked very very fresh and that section was very organized as well as the rest of the store was. The prices were okay I shop at Aldi as well their prices are a little lower. The reason I gave this rating only 2 stars is because during check out I did 2 separate transactions And the second transaction could not go through. Lidl does not allow separate purchases on the same card. It didn’t matter that when the supervisor came over to help the cashier we did the second purchase as a debit still would not go through. And for the reason for my two star rating the supervisor then says to the cashier “well if she doesn’t have enough money to pay for it we have to void it”. Hold up!!!🤬🤬🤬 I never said I didn’t have money to pay for it I pull out my cash flash and fan it in front of him and let him know I didn’t want to use my cash as with most credit cards or debit card you acquire points when you use it in supermarkets so I wanted to use my card no matter if it was for points or my own personal reasons. How dare he!!! I do have his name but I won’t give it because everyone needs their job especially when they are scarce due to the pandemic.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to the cashier Briana!!! I work in corrections in the healthcare aspect and I come across a lot of young men and women. So I want to commend Briana on her patience and understanding of the situation that was at hand never once did she acknowledge or show that she was upset with the situation, or that she was nervous about the situation, and she exhibited immeasurable Customer service. I applaud you Brianna and when Lidl accepted you as part of their team that was a great choice. Going forward I will only buy my produce from Lidl because they are fresh and I really have lost my desire to even shop at the store and I agree with another review it is a horrifying nightmare trying to get out of the parking lot in that entire area very disappointed with my first shopping experience at Lidl, I hope when I visit the store again it will improve like I said I’m only going there for the produce.

I went to this store my first time yesterday. Not sure I can say I will be back. The produce was decent, the other grocery selection was different. Reminds me of Aldi’s/IKEA mixed. Upon the end of my trip with a full cart going to the register I noticed protein bars $.75. I took it up to the register. It didn’t ring up. I went back with whom I would later find was the manager. He said I didn’t get the right ones. I picked up another flavor that he said was the right brand. He did a price check. It didn’t ring up. While all of this is going on my groceries are still being scanned. Now my groceries are done being scanned. I’m waiting and I’m told no I can’t have the bars unless I pay full price. He said he can’t change the price but he could give me 30% off? If you can’t change how can you give me 30% off? A store is supposed to honor their advertised prices. Don’t expect stellar or even good customer service which in reading reviews on this company alone it seems they lack.

Doesn’t really have much .. not really any “deals” that you can’t find else where . Only good thing is the bakery that’s half decent . Will continue to drive past.
