Only has macall patterns but has a HUGE selection of fabrics and trims. The staff are very knowledgeable.
Tons of fabric selection and a well marked store make for a pleasant shopping experience.
I have been to many fabric stores/shops in many states. The staff was helpful and friendly. The fabric choices were truly mill end in that they seemed older fabric styles. I am mainly a quilter and found prices rather high for what I saw.
Great little local place to shop! They have a huge selection of fabrics, trims, notions and everything else you would need. Staff has always been really friendly and extremely helpful. I’m a complete novice and teaching myself to sew and they’ve always been patient and willing to explain what are probably very basic questions. I’d rather go here than any of the national chains, it may be a little pricier it’s worth it for fabrics I like better as well amazing customer service. I’d also rather keep the local places around as long as possible.
After telling this assistant what I needed she showed me different material. I needed so much that she let me put the pattern onto the material there It was such a great help I really appreciate it thank you Great customer service
I go there for good quality fabrics. They have everything you need for your project.
The staff were so helpful in teaching a new sewist like myself how to get started
Lots of different, awesome fabrics to choose from, as well as other sewing notions and supplies youll need. Great locally owned place, I like shopping here much more than big chain stores like joanns
I quickly found the tablecloth material I wanted, and was helped immediately and professionally.
Good service. Good quality of fabric. Short on thread.
Great place. Awesome selection and service.
Was looking for Sunbrella and not much in stock....
So much fun! This store was fabulous! We spent alittle more time and money than expected because, we had to have it all. We mailed a crafting care package to my aunt living on maui with our finds from here. Thank you
Mill End is the most well stocked Fabric with every kind of fabric including Designer fabrics and Bridal fabrics. I shop there often because I am a Fashion Designer. It is not just crafts and quilt stuff. You can make clothes or decorate your home from Mill End!
Beautiful fabrics but most of the staff are either rude or simply unhelpful.
Mill End is a fantastic place to find the fabrics you need for your upcoming project. Knowledgeable staff is ready to answer questions.
Always find good manly sewing stuff like cordura camo pack cloth etc.
Great place to get fabrics and supplies!Friendly and helpful staff.Huge selection to choose from!Downside: They do take coupon up to 20%, but not any more than that. I wish they had more/better coupons like Joannes.Especially if you are making a larger purchase, there should be some kind of deal.
Amazing selections of fabrics, super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Well worth the trip.
Easy to social-distance, wide variety of great quality!
Love the fabrics and really appreciated the help I received. Thank you so much.
We went there to get a new zipper for a coat... like replace the whole thing. Once the ladies there realized what we were in need of they started working on the zipper in the store. They spent a good 15 minutes helping us replace the zipper (they didnt think the whole thing needed to be replaced and they were right)! They were so helpful, saved us a lot of time and headache!
Great selections of fabric! You guys literally have everything in this shop. Its fabric heaven! I recently dropped off my viking huskylock for a repair, so Ill update my review on how that goes in the future.
Super friendly staff. Really great selection.
Super chill fun place
I’m a quilter and was in Portland for a day and thought I’d add to my stash. I was so disappointed! Kona solids were $8/yd and small selection. I can do better online.
Always a 5. Fab fabric selection, love the people.
Very helpful, attentive, staff. Excellent prices. Lovely selection of bridal laces and trims. I have been a customer for over 10 years, and have always been pleased with this store.
The fabric on one of my patio chairs ripped out after 5 years. I could buy replacement slings but they are 1/2 the price of a new chair and I expect the other 5 chairs to also need the same repair soon.Amazon had a netting material that I could use for $15 a yard or the original tweed pattern for $25 a yard. I was going to buy the netting but my wife convinced my to go to Mill End and talk to the sales ladies.I got 1/2 yard of the tweed fabric which was going to cost $8 but it was the end of the bolt so it was 60% off that. I looked at the netting I was going to buy on Amazon and realized I never would have been able to sew it on a machine.I also bought German needles and thread. The needles I was going to buy on Amazon were $1 cheaper but they were the wrong needles for the fabric and they werent German.
Not the largest selection of fabric, but more specialty fabrics than youll find at a big chain. Id also been told that the staff here can be a little snooty, but that hasnt been my experience, everyone has always been very friendly to me. They also have a pretty big selection of piping and cordedge, I recently found some Id needed for a project that Ive been looking for elsewhere for months.
The only place to find excellent, vintage prints and retro oilcloth! Fabric may run more expensive than Joanns, but quality & selection cant be beat in Beaverton area.
Best selection of apparel fabrics in town. Silk, wool, cotton, etc! Also great selection of hard to find trims. Its where I look first. Ask about using competitors coupons.
Friendly, kind employees who are always happy to see you. They know what theyre talking about and are always open to giving you advice on your project. The store has an excellent selection of many different materials including high quality bridal fabrics, knits, suiting, upholstery, and quilting.
You didnt really carry what we needed, but they had a very nice and helpful staff.
Friendly ladies who have experience with sewing of all kinds. There prices are fair. Trims and notions are especially well priced. There fabrics are good quality and not over priced like some places.
So many fabrics, upholstery, specialty, and well organized!
This is a lovely fabric store with community spirit. They have the high quality quilters cotton of the smaller quilt shops. In addition they have large sections of formal/bridal and wearables fabrics, bolt sales, Trim, buttons, & other sewing needs. They allow the local Surface Design Group of Columbia Fiber Arts to meet in their classroom at not cost. Support this store; it is the kind we need in the community.
A huge selection of fabric, definitely the best in the area! The only downside is that the vibe in this store is a bit uncomfortable.
I found an interesting-end-of-bolt print that will be a perfect base for my next project.
Endless bolts to examine, feel, plan and create. Possibilities endless, not limited to a sewing project preference, covers all. Quilting, suit material, swimsuit material, selection is practically endless.
Went with freinds so much material we loved it got some material happy happy
Surprisingly large collections of multiple fabric types. Love looking at luxurious colors in the silk dupioni. Beautiful vintage lace and other notions available. Comparable to Fabric Depot, but on the west side of Portland.
Horrible rude staff! Manager definitely needs to be taught how to speak to customers! No returns on cut fabrics!
They have large selections of fabric plus notions, devices and tools. The employees were knowledgeable however they were rude, talked down to me. I asked the lady if they carry woven Lycra, she tells me the possible areas, and also asked her where the knitted Lycra was, and she tells me such thing doesnt exist. The common Lycra is usually knitted, but in theses days, we have flat weave, denim, twill Lycra with modern technology. To separate from those, I said Knitted Lycra. I didnt like her attitude that she knows everything and I dont. She is wrong.
I have had nothing but great experiences, and good buys on fabrics and notions, in the many years I have shopped at this store. The staff with whom I have spoken have always been exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable in many subjects, and polite and patient. It makes me wonder about the people who have complained!
This place has fabric, notions and elastic for making ladies undergarments, swimsuits, and sportswear which I havent been able to find anywhere else. It has a huge selection of fabric in general. Also, the prices are excellent and the customer service ius great.
This is our favorite fabric store. They have enough employees to allow for fast service and short lines and they dont treat you like youre an a-hole which we have found some other stores kinda do. Which is weird for a fabric store, right??
I still like to pull out my sewing machine from time to time. Happy this fabric store is around for all my sewing needs.
This is a great fabric store. Unlike a major chain store the employees actually know what they stock, how to sew and how to choose an appropriate fabric. True professionals. QUALITY fabrics.
Great store. They always have what I need.
Lovely fabrics, helpful, friendly staff and good prices. Its always a pleasure to shop here.
Great service. Spoke to an associate about my home decor project and she was very helpful in sharing a number of fabric options including a new textile called Crypton which is durable like upholstery but can be thrown in the washing machine.
This store is not open - though online shows it to be. Shucks - a drive for nothing.
Staff is always helpful. Its easy to find what you need. And the do take competitors coupons.
Went in looking for lace but a huge amount in one piece. 13 yards. They said they had the one I want they had to grab it and would send it for free to store near me. Yes one big pice 10 yards or so but other store had like 4 something yards so be ok. Alright. Go home. Call another day to double check on yards. Its in 5 pieces of different sizes. I specifically said had to be one piece and you said was one piece. Advised did not want. Go to store near me pick other lace. Said have to get from this store, they call to see how much they have in one piece need 13 yards. Ohh have more than that all 1 piece will ship to the store. Get to this store again lace in pieces. So this store TWICE does NOT check when asked if have material in what condition and length. Twice. For a customer asking not for when the store called and asked for it. Horrible service.
Does not matter which Mill End Retail fabric store you go to in Portland, Or. or Reno Nevada if you need/want fabric or notions for sewing this is where you are going to need your credit card and a nice high limit because if you are serious about sewing this is the place for you no matter what you are making.
Very good selection of higher end fabrics including home decor and fashion. Embellishment section is a little less than expected in comparison to the store size.
Theyre always willing to help me work on my weird projects, like mermaid tails and cloaks.
Go for the employee expertise, return for the great deals.
Friendly, helpful staff and a great selection of products. The Milwaukie store had more and is made for browsing. Beaverton is still a great store when I know what Im looking for
Best button selection & prices within 5 mile radius of Aloha.
Great fabric store. Lots of helpful people.
A very fine selection of sewing supplies.
Lots of variety! Great place to find what you are looking for.
I really cant say much as I cant afford this, but its a great place for my sewing machine parts and service.
Great variety and usually they have what you need.
Pay attention when you are checking out so that you are not over charged.
They always have what I need, and much more.
Great selection of fabrics from fashion knits to cottons for quilting. Not the greatest selection of thread for sergers, but every other accessory Ive ever seen.
Great service. Friendly staff and great fabric selection.
So much good stuff :-)
Lots of selection and the help was top notch in the bridal department
Great fabrics at great prices. Don’t go expecting to find the same fabric every time, it’s more of a surprising treasure hunt.
Huge selection on fabric and everything else. They had specialty ribbon that I didnt know existed!
Really like this place has a good selection of fabrics
A nice store for any type of fabric
So many different types of material
Very helpful, very nice staff.
Very helpfull staff.
This store is a wonderland to anyone who designs, crafts, sews, etc. Be prepared to lose yourself.
They were nice and very helpful
There were a lot of fabrics here. They should have a holding area for husbands with a couch or chair while they are stuck there when their wives are looking at everything they have
Its a far cry from Fabric Depot but it works
Customer service gets ruder every year. :(
Clerks very helpful!!
Great variety of fabric.
Unfortunately the staff at both locations are very rude and unhelpful.
Always excellent selection
They have fabric for clothes, not just crafts.
Wonderful.
Not a great selection, unfriendly staff.
Wow what a huge selection
Just loads of stuff
Lots of fabric
