I like this market because Ive never not been able to find what I wanted. The restaurant is good but the last time I was there it looked open but there was no one working. Someone else in the shop said they thought the restaurant had closed for lunch but there was no signage and online it says its open all day...who knows?

I always get fresh produce and grocery from this store but from couple of weeks i found expried products on shelves. I bought a product, when i wanted to use it i came to know that it was expired two months ago. Found lots of small stones in Musterd seeds. Green chillies was rotten. Please check expiry date before buying it. I hope they will work on this.

I have experienced consistent billing fraud at this Indian store. Sporadic extra changes and incorrect weight is entered while billing. This has consistently happened to me three times in the last 6 months. When reported, the extra charges are immediately recognized and refunded in the pretext of human error while it clearly is planned and intentional. If you dont carefully scan your receipt after every purchase you might be paying extra without noticing for things that you did not get. This has been reported to consumer protection agency.

Nice buffet lunch inside a legit Indian grocery store. The Vada Pav was delicious and so was everything from the buffet. I grew up eating Indian food so I love it. This strikes me almost Pakistani style which I like best. If you’re hungry and don’t have lots o money, the buffet is worth it.

Out of all the indian grocery stores in the area India Supermarket clearly ranks no. 1. Its still not perfect. My fav indian snacks are only available here, 1. Crushed peanut chikkis, 2. Chatpat khakra, 3. Spicy Soya sticks (discontinued 😔). Theyve comparatively fresher stocks compared to others (dont be surprised to see some expired items stocked in nearby (with the exception of India Imports - my 2nd fav indian grocery store) stores.Ive found mold growing on vegetables a couple of times (ive also seen them in nearby major grocery chains including fred meyer). So, be careful when choosing the veggies.Best vegetables: Indian eggplants are almost always very good. Okras are good most of the days. Raw mangoes are good. This is the only place where ginger is absolutely amazing. They sometimes stock verusenaga podi which is our favourite. Hope they have it in stock always.

Have had not so good experience with quality of food products served. Got two Amul ice-cream boxes from frozen section. Both when opened were half or more than half empty!! This indicates that all these ice-cream in their freezer were let to melt completely during transportation and delivery was accepted by India Supermarket without checking. And even worse the price they tagged were super high - a rip off. Dont buy ice-cream if they dont accept returns when customer brings issues like this to notice. Markets like these dont accept returns and customer service when it comes to such thinks are questionable

Great food and grocery items.Customer service is terrible. Feels like Im in India. No smiles or greetings. When you ask for a bag, they just throw it at you and except you to bag everything on your own. This is all mostly with the elderly employees.

The customer service is so bizarre, where in one aisle youll find a gentle elderly man kindly ask if you are looking for anything, while five mins later the younger cashier walking around will try to bite your head off if you ask for help. Just dont expect much in terms of service, but youll likely find some random south asian item youd forgotten about until you find it here. Delight in the products you may find here and know what to expect.

I’m fed up with the rude behavior of the employees at this place. Time to go to Vancouver for my Indian groceries.Yesterday, after spending $40+, I was asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes and then the lady placed a bag on top of my groceries... what is this? I have to pay your high prices and then also do your job of bagging the groceries? This is not Winco!Furthermore, after asking for a second bag, she said it would be an additional .$10. I agreed and gave her my card. Nobody carries dimes around in their pockets these days. Later, I noticed that she charged me $1.10 instead of $.10.The only reason for me to go back to this place is to make a scene when they treat me rudely again. Maybe that will encourage other customers to fight back against being treated rudely as well.

I am surprised that I have not reviewed this grocery, yet. Its pretty darned good for being in the US. They usually have a good variety of well-kept asian vegetables, excellent choices for basmati rice at a number of different price points, all the spices you need for a good Indian meal, coconut milk teas and supplements, all at reasonable prices. The service is reserved, but knowledgeable and the treats they make in-house smell and look pretty good. I go there for ingredients, so I have not yet tried them. This store is tidy and well-kept. I strongly recommend you try this store if you have been buying your spices, Asian vegetables and rice at Whole Foods or another chain grocery. The spices are fresh, vegetables lovely and you have more choices than at chain stores.

Our family shops for Indian groceries and this shop is close to home. I appreciate they are working through the pandemic as an essential business. Quality and selection is generally very good. The aisles are really very narrow, so I would only recommend that they have some one-way markers down the aisles to keep people at a proper social distance. Good quality, I did notice some ground spices with some older dates, so they should work on turning inventory and bringing in fresh product. I didnt check dates (shopping very quickly, minimal touching of product), so I found out at home.

Went to Super Market today . On the Front door they have posted a note to wear Mask and Gloves . Went in the shop and was amazed how easy to differentiate between customer and employee there. Most of the Employees ( or may be 80 % ) were NOT wearing masks . Forget about gloves. They were handling stocks in the shelf and vegetables with bare hands and no masks . Employees laughing and talking loudly. Probably adding micro droplets to the surrounding and infecting themselves and others . It was so disappointing to see this. Manager Please take this seriously and help your employees follow what you post on your front door.

This speicifc indian store india supermarket - They are selling majority of items too pricey.I am in US for last 6 years but I never honestly came across so pricey Indian Grocery,Never!! They MUST reduce their prices which are not even at PAR, i would req. owner to consider reducing the prices overall for all the non-perishable items specially which they are really expensive. One example - 20 LB Sujata Aata for 21$+ Common man, I never paid more 12$ Max across the US in 10 differenr states from east to west I had stayed in the past . So cut the chase and reduce your prices for all these items. Aata being the staple food of 99% of indian families and you are selling for $21+ I can’t imagine how much margin you are getting out of this. It is Insane. Not just aata for all the other items which can be actually bought on a cheaper price in Walmart which is at a walking distance from your shop . Otherwise ppl will stop buying from this store. And i stronglt advice ppl to look out for items in costco and walmart which are far below than this store is selling all the time and never recommend this store to anyone in portland.

Wish there was 0 stars. Worst experience of my life. Went to exchange a bag of rice I bought last week. My mistake, I did not have the receipt. Walked in and as the guy at the counter was helping someone, my husband and I waited behind. When our turn came we asked about the possibility of exchange. He started accusing us and asked if we just took a bag from the store so bluntly. I said no and that we were waiting right beside him. He doubled checked with my husband and kept saying that we should not roam in the store prior to informing them. That is all we did, wait in line to tell him. Did not go to any aisle. He kept saying the same thing over and over. He said people do it and I agree some people might have. But that is not the way you treat every customer. Never going there.
