Extremely disappointed paid $1370 for what was supposed to be a minor repair of the heater controller. they said they would contact me before doing any major work. I dropped off the truck 2004 GMC the night before. I stopped by late in the morning to see what was going on . the manager didnt know and was very evasive . I called again about noon again very evasive didnt know anything. Stopped by later in the afternoon still didnt know and was very evasive. I picked up the finished truck$ 1370. to say the least I will never go there again. I talked to another auto repair shop and they said there they have new ownership a few years ago, and many really bad stories like mine .

It was 8pm and one of the owners was still at the shop helping another individual that had broken down. He was so kind & after helping the other stranded person, he helped me get my truck taken care of & on their list to be looked at right away so I could at least get my horses & trailer home. I have a 1989 GMC K1500, I really like it and Ive had it a long time. My wife wanted me to get a new truck but I had no desire to spend what Im guessing would be somewhere near $50,000.00 and besides, I love my old truck. I took my truck to Power Train Plus. Also, Ive known Stacey for many years (in fact at one point I worked with him a short while). Ive known him long enough to know you can trust what he says and he knows what hes doing if it has a motor and tires on it. Its a great feeling to talk with someone that can help you figure what needs to be done on your vehicle, write it up and then hand him the keys and go about your business without having to think about it again till they call ya to pick it up. On top of that it is done the way its suppose to be at the price you agreed on, these guys are true professionals!I have to mention the top hands Stacey has working there, top notch through and through, great guys and a real team there to help you!I had a new motor and new factory remanufactured transmission installed as well as a number of other things to many to mention. I tell everyone I have a brand new truck with 195,550 miles on it.I did have a few things done at other friends of mine but all the real work and heavy lifting was done at Power Train Plus, I couldnt be more pleased with their work! Ive been approached at the gas station a lot since it was done by guys that hear that V8 grumble and wanna talk trucks, I recommend Power Train Plus to all of em.Hats off to Stacey and all the great guys on the team out there! I am so happy with the service I received at Power Train Plus!  Stacey and his team are great.  You hear about women getting taken advantage of at some businesses, but I feel the service couldnt have been better.  I was given a thorough explanation of what was going on with my truck; what should be fixed now and what was not a priority but an option to fix, and then asked what I wanted to do.  I felt totally informed and not pressured into doing excessive work.  I have found my forever shop!  Thanks!

Ive gone back and fourth with dealerships and privately owned shops with my 06 Ford F350 6.0L. After investing over 15K into repairs my truck was never reliable. I have been told before Power Train is more knowledgeable about Ford and Dodge diesels than most repair shops. I was explained why my truck had the problems it had and how to prevent them. After doing a few EGR upgrades on one of my main vehicles, it is finally reliable. The honesty of the mechanics and service writers was better than I had ever had before.

We ended up breaking down outside of Belgrade on a Sunday. No mechanics were open and Monday morning called every shop we could find. No one was available to even look at the truck for 3-4 days. The guys at powertrain plus rearranged their schedule to help us out. We had the truck towed to the shop and within three hours they had us back on the road with a new ignition module. I cant say enough good things about this shop, their decency, hospitality, and will to go above and beyond to help us in a bad situation. The price was fair and after their work completed our 2982 mile journey with no issues at all. I highly recommend this shop and if Im ever in the area will not hesitate to go see them again. I had a check engine light telling me that cylinder 2 was misfiring on my Mazda Tribute. I took it into PowerTrain to fix the problem, explained the symptoms, and told them that the last time I had the vehicle in their shop they had told me to replace the fuel injectors (which I didnt have money for at the time). I also asked them to fix two doors that had broken locks. Three weeks later I called to inquire on the status of the work, and they told me it had been done for a few days -- but they had forgotten to call me. I paid them over $1000. The engine misfired and the check engine light came back on before I even reached home. Only one of the doors was fixed. There were dirty rags and broken door parts left in the vehicle. I have to assume that they actually installed the new parts that they charged me for, but why didnt they test to see if they fixed the problems?I took the vehicle back in a week later, expecting them to make it right and only charge me for new parts since both issues should have been fixed already. They replaced all six plugs and the coil on #2 with one they had laying around the shop -- whatever that means -- was it new, used, what? They were unable to find the parts to fix my door (even though my google-foo leads me to a few different sources with 2-day shipping). They charged me for a new coil (I hope it was new), new plugs (even though the plugs in there were less than 2 years old) and 2.5 hours of time. I fail to see how they spent 2.5 hours replacing the plugs -- I did it myself in less than an hour, and the coils have to come out during the process -- so installing the coil should have been included in the labor cost for the plugs. They had my vehicle for over a month in total. The front office guy was very rude, and I suspect that the front office lady I originally talked to failed to give the mechanics all of the information that I provided about the symptoms and what I wanted done.Their mechanics might do good work, but it seems like they just keep replacing parts until they fix an issue rather than spending time to actually diagnose the issue from the get-go. Their office staff seems to be unorganized and their prices seem to be higher than their competition.I highly recommend avoiding this place.

I used Power Train many time before but because of my recent visit, I will not be going back. I was changing shocks on my truck and broke a bolt on the bottom shock mount. I brought it in to them to help get out because I couldnt get it and didnt have a torch to try and get it out. I called them and asked them to get the bolt out and replace that shock while they already have the tire off. They finally got it out and charged my 240 dollars. I went and picked my truck up and found that they did pull the bolt out but did not replace the shock and didnt even put a new bolt back in it. I asked them about it and they said they didnt know I wanted them to replace the shock either. Even if I didnt specify to replace the shock (even though I know I did), dont you think a company would replace the shock when it is sitting there on the seat in order to increase their customer satisfaction? They already had the tire off and on a jack, it would have taken them 5 extra minutes to put the shock in. I am not impressed at all and will never be going there again, I also will not be recommending them to anyone.

I took my Toyota Rav4 in for its scheduled 100k mile service. As the tech was finishing up that job he gave the rig a once over while it was up on the hoist. He noticed that my fill plug on the transfer case was almost falling out. He check to find that there was no fluid in the transfer case and that the gears has almost destroyed themselves!!! Powertrain found me a used part from a wrecking yard and had it installed within a week of diagnosing the problem. They also quoted me a price and ended up charging me less because the tech was able to get it done in less time that the book said it would take and they passed the cost savings back to me! I cannot stress how grateful I am to have found a shop that takes the time to look at things, It would have been a disaster to get to the middle of ND in winter and have the transfer case lock up!!! Power train has earned my business completely and I will refer everyone I know to them.

Took my 1983 chevy into powertrain plus in Belgrade,Asked for heater core, and water pump replaced, and to check the leaks out for the transfer case.Get a call in two weeks stating the water pump, heater core was replaced and hoses rerouted. When I get to powertrian they say they pulled the transfer and resealed it as well.Paid the Man his money and walked out to the ride to see the water pump was the same one that was in it before.Come back inside and 45 min later I have shop credit and a good pump so no need to change $700 ...Drive her 4.8 miles home and park her.Coolant and transfer case drips in the same pattern as when this was dropped off and repaired, drove back down to powertrain and was told to leave it so they can check the coolant leak and t-case leak out,Called a few days later and was told the t case has a cracked section that just happened since they sealed it and I needed my drive line and U joints replaced, oh and coolant leak was a head bolt now. so another $700 ...Went to pick it up and realized they didnt check the coolant leaks from before so it was left and come to find out waterpump was leaking as well so that was now replaced.Wow $1400 later and this should be done right... nope . Drive home and let it sit to another leak in the t case.So I drive back down and have to schedule a week out. Oh its the front and rear seal as well as the center section leaking and they want another $600+ to do another job they were paid to do.Come to find out each time they repair one section of the t case and not the other . So when I was told they resealed the t case and fixed the leak they just did one so they can rape me over the coals over and over. Now I have an appointment at a transmission shop for a complete rebuild of my transfer case for another $600 when I paid powertrain well over that to do the same job.

I have used Power Train many times however over the last year the service has went downhill. Recently I brought my Excursion to the shop for repair. I gave specific instructions to be called about all costs related to Excursion before the tasks were performed (I always do this, as you should). To my surprised I was called and told that they had replaced parts that did not fix the problem, invoicing almost $500. Power Train then gave an estimate of $2200 to dig deeper to find out what was wrong. From my last couple experiences with Power Train estimates I knew I was looking at about 30% above their estimate. At this point I stopped all work and had vehicle towed to Bozeman Ford. Bozeman Ford was able to completely diagnosis problem before replacing any parts, and I approved all work before it was completed. The invoice was exactly as they said it would be.Unfortunately I would recommend avoiding Power Train Plus.

Jed brought his truck in under the guise that it belonged to his employer and signed to have the bill charged to his employers account (he was previously approved to sign for company vehicles) and then he lost his job. Jed has not paid any of his bill at all. He had us put the pump in knowing it was a temporary fix, which it was, and his truck still needs a motor.
