Went in on a Saturday for a coffee with family. No line and went to order. The lady at the counter was extremely rude. After ordering a coffee and asking the family what they wanted she literally yelled at us “want anything else!” With a scowl on her face. Everyone in the family couldn’t believe that she would yell at us. She continued to be rude and short with us and then left as the barista took over. Never again will I go there. And no I’m not a “Karen or a Kevin” and have never given a bad review but couldnt believe what I just saw.
Wanted to like this place more than we did. Cute, comfortable setting, ample portions, solid selections. However, we found service was disjointed and slow. Didnt appear short-staffed due to COVID, just felt neglected.Over an hour for easy breakfast of four...empty beverages for duration of meal...elongated service gaps.Hopefully we caught on bad day. Too many good factors.
Thought this place was decent, but Id probably try somewhere else if I could. The food was mediocre - I got a hamburger and it tasted burnt (like it was cooked on a dirty grill). The side salad was okay, but they didnt have ranch. Bizarre. And no draft beer. Service was good, though, and staff was friendly. I just think the menu is a little odd and the food only mediocre.
The Coffee served here is noteworthy. Perfectly roasted beans served expertly brewed. The food wasnt half bad either. Curious staff.
Food was decent, added fresh fruit was the highlight for me. I would have liked more flavor from the French toast though.
Love this place. Good food reasonably priced. A little busy closer to the afternoon so showing up at 8 is a good way to avoid the rush. Friendly staff.
Had a lovely lunch on the patio with my dear granddaughter. Good food and service in a peaceful setting.
Best breakfast Ive ever had! Polenta and black beans. Yum yum. Fabulous service. Delicious coffee.
Used to frequent Tonys all the time when we lived in Bellingham. Its So good to see them still operating with all the charm its always had. Great coffee and atmosphere. A must go destination and a Fairhaven cornerstone.
Drinks were made good. And server was really friendly.
Good coffee.Took me a while to determine the internet was unavailable, checked if password was correct, yes. Mentioned lack of internet to staff which was met with a shrug. Their food ordering system down at the time as well.
A lovely, cozy cafe with friendly staff and delicious food. Portion sizes are just right for the money!
I love this place. This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places here in Bellingham. They have an incredibly wide and inventive menu (for Bellingham). They have a gorgeous little outside back patio that is so fun to sit on.Their food is so good that Im able to eat my whole plate which is a pretty big deal right now! I really do want to thank them somehow for that. Hands down favorite restaurant here in Bellingham.
This coffee is superb - worth every penny! Im pretty picky when it comes to coffee, as I have gotten sick repeatedly if its burnt, but Tonys coffee is spot on!
Hands down the best place for breakfast in town! Always come here for especially the coffee
Great food. Terrible customer service lately. It has convinced me to take my business elsewhere.
One of the most unique menus excellent quality food well prepared good service One of the best spots in Bellingham
Excellent breakfast options that rarely miss. Coffee is excellent, too.
A friend who went to WWU recommended this spot for brunch so we gave it a try - and it did not disappoint! The menu is full of great and varied options for all types of folks: meat lovers, vegetarians, vegans, etc. We both had scrambles and they were very tasty. We also had lattes from Tony’s, which were amazing as well. The outdoor patio ambience was fun, too, on a sunny winter day! Will definitely be coming back for another brunch when we visit Bellingham again.
A consistent staple in Fairhaven. You will never be disappointed
Foods delicious, outdoor patio is beautiful and servers are very nice.
Love this cafe-- delish, healthy fare in the heart of Fairhaven. Attached to a bakery/coffeeshop which is popular with students and writers.
If you are planning on doing take out for covid, don’t expect them to answer the phone. We called 5 times and the last three they hung up after one ring. They lost our business and we are spreading the word! Stop hiring lazy college kids that don’t answer the phone and do their job. It makes your establishment look bad.
The barista was super sweet and fast! The coffee was delicious! 11/10 recommend
The service here is always top notch, and the food is always amazing! Their outdoor dining experience is very comfortable.
*COVID PRECAUTIONS BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY*They have an awesome, open air dining area outside where you’re completely separated from other folks eating. Felt safe and food was super delicious. Staff came and checked on us multiple times, and was doing great at taking Covid precautions seriously. We sat outside with our masks on & only removed to eat, and felt very comfortable the entire time. I recommend to anyone who wants a good brunch/lunch spot that is super tasty!
The food is great. The people are awesome. The clover.com online ordering is completely unintelligible. E.g., Plain breakfast sandwich. Great. Says order meat on options menu. No options menu. Coffee?? Tony’s is right there. You can touch it! But nowhere to order coffee on the clover.com menu. Actually took less time to walk over and stand in line to wait for order.Probably suffers from what many online services suffer from: the people who create the sites and sell their services never actually try to use it. Too bad. Hurts Tony’s and Harris Ave business.
This place was surprising on all accounts. From service to food. Loved it.
Excellent breakfast options (we went for omelets and it was 5/5) and great cold brew. They even have a pickup window, which is kinda cool. Everyone was nice. Would eat breakfast again 👍
Harris Avenue Cafe is a quaint place to eat with friends and the staff was friendly.
Located in the heart of Fairhaven on the corner of Harris Avenue and 11th Street, Tonys is one of the villages GoTo Meeting Spots.A mainstay in Fairhaven, Tonys has probably served more espresso drinks and cups of java over the years than all of the restaurants around them combined, If youre lookin for a good cup of Joe, 9 out of 10 Villagers (who, by the way, dont refer to themselves as Villagers, but tend to eat, meet and shop in Fairhaven whenever possible) will send you to Tonys. If you like their coffee, youll find it sold in bulk a couple of blocks away at Haggen Fairhaven Market on 12th Street.
We came for a late lunch and were lucky to beat the crowds that I remember from my days in Bellingham. I couldnt resist the huevos rancheros, and my mom opted for the Reuben sandwich - which proved to be too big for her appetite, though she made an honorable effort. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was exactly what I remembered and loved. Grateful for this place.
Came here because there were photos of what looked like good cappuccinos. I think this qualifies as the worst cappuccino I’ve had. Ever. The shot is disgusting, burnt doesn’t capture the rankness. Couldn’t drink, asked for a cup of drip which was also not good. Ambiance is nice, but won’t be back tomorrow. Disappointed. (And the soundtrack is Avril Lavine and Elton John?)
They offer the beyond burger and it was amazing and the balsamic salad dressing is the best I’ve ever had. It’s a lovely place with a great atmosphere and delicious food. I highly recommend it.
Kind and joyful staff, quality ingredients, delicious food, comfortable atmosphere.
Favorite lunch and breakfast in Bellingham.
Ordering to-go was quick, safe, and easy! Food was delicious as always...I always want to save for leftovers and I always eat the whole meal.
Harris Ave Cafe is a delightful spot for breakfast or lunch. The owner and crew are hard working and welcoming. I highly recommend a visit.😊
Great spot for breakfast! Friendly staff and good eats!
Terrific food and beverages of several varieties...blackberry lemonade mimosa and hibiscus tea were delicious.
I often buy beans from here. They are fresher than the ones at my local store, and they have a good decaf that isnt super dark. The cafe itself is a decent place to get a cuppa and have a conversation with a friend or coworker.
Yum. Tasty. Despite looking heavy on paper dishes we had seemed suprisingly light. We hit tail end of a breakfast rush. I was impressed by how fast the kitchen turned it around despite the place seeming to have fled just before our arrival. Tonys coffee from next door also great!
Tonys is a great place to hide away and spend an hour of your time reading, writing, talking with a friend on the weekdays and off tourist-time hours. I especially like the Mayan Mocha. Also Harris Cafe, next door, will serve you breakfast/lunch at a table there if you ask.Its not quiet. Square footage is cozy & when its busy the staff would like to turn tables. Because of its corner location and popularity, the tourist hit it hard on the weekends. When that happens its sometimes = 45 min or more wait, but yummy still the same.
Great breakfast place! Try the El Diablo and be sure to order espresso from next door!
Clean, comfortable, good coffee, maybe Im just old school but when I walk up to a counter and somebody looks at me and says yes? As opposed to how may I help you or what can I get you this morning it just sounds like Im being a bother to them. Thats the only reason I didnt give five stars. Am I being petty?
Ive loved Tonys since I was in school here in the early 2000s. Great coffee, crafted to perfection. A wonderful place to spend a rainy hour watching the world go by.
We had their custom mollasses granola -- quite good. Theyre adapting to the (capricous, in IMO) state health rules very well.
Great little shop. The coffee was wonderful. My only regret is that I had lunch before I went in. The food that they were bringing to tables looked wonderful
I was excited to visit Tonys as they are my colleges coffee supplier. The cafe is quite expensive but very cute and the baristas are friendly. There are a few options for food, including soups and meals as well as pastries. The atmosphere is perfect for studying!
Great soup, very good coffee. The coffee house got a little crowded, and Id been sitting a while, so I began to pack up. I saw the attached cafe was clearing out, so I asked if I could sit up there, and staff encouraged me to come up and hang out. I asked about a beer on tap, and the cafe was shut down, but a guy grabbed me one anyone and said I could pay in the coffee house. After I paid, I thanked for him for the great service. Then I asked, You do work here, dont you? And he said, Yeah, Im the owner.Really mellow. Staff seem to like working here. Nice place.
Cozy, great location, very good food and service. I had blackened salmon on a bed of lettuce rather than a bun. They have several good options to make sandwich offerings gluten free. Their yam fries are delicious. The iced tea was fresh and brisk. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and the setting was perfect for a long, in-depth conversation between friends.
Food was delicious! Staff friendly and give great service. Highly recommended!
Great place
Updated with latest COVID protocols. Brunch with no wait! [email protected] Same amazing food, now with face masks.
Great place even in COVID times.
Great cup of joe, not too slow, whats not to know. So, why not go, you know! Hard working staff, specially that short order cook, hardest job in America next to stock brokers or maybe before them.
Comfy, great service and friendly atmosphere. Had the Matterhorn omelette and was more than satisfied. Great location.
Absolutely love this place!
Tonys is a BHAM staple. Good coffee but its never consistent. Good amount of seating. Prepare for a line on Sat and Sun mornings.
Good food but the service could be better. Had to flag down the waitress to order when there were only a few other tables. When ordering, my Dad asked for coffee but didnt get it. At the end of the meal he asked again. The waitress asked if he wanted cream and he said no thank you. He was given cream anyway. Not a huge deal but it did make me feel like it wasnt worth spending $35 for a couple of sandwiches and yam fries
One of my favorites. Good quality ingredients, great coffee including espresso from Tonys next door. When the patio is open there isnt a better brunch in bham
My French toast wasnt super flavorful but still good with a lot of syrup. We were told we could sit inside wherever we wanted so we sat in a bigger booth. Then later on we were asked to sit outside at a two person seating. It was confusing. The bacon was some of the best bacon I ever had.
One of the best coffee roasters in the state of not the country. I do believe one of their roasts won a reward in a National competition.
This is a great cafe in a quaint town. They have a great menu to choose from. I have only been here 3 times but the breakfasts and burgers are great. They also have vegetarian meals. And a great coffee shop attached.
I love going to Harris. It has been my go to for breakfast and lunch. But unfortunately it has gone downhill. The past two times I have been there, i have been very unhappy with the service. When we were sat at a four top, the hostess said normally Im not allowed to seat a table of two at a table for four, but we will do it today. They had multiple tables of four available, and no wait. Even after our two top was sat, zero tables of four came in. It made us feel like we were unwelcome since there were only tables of four left. We waited over 20 minutes for water, even while the hostess just stood around, and even after having given the waitress a drink order and asking her for water. After watching the hostess walk by us multiple times, we finally asked for water again. They were busy, but not busy enough to leave us without service for almost 20 minutes. We also watched a guy sitting at his table get asked to move to the coffee shop and he said he was still waiting on his food (from what I overheard.) Then the hostess bussed his table while he was in the bathroom. He seemed annoyed. My friend and I ordered mimosas which were only a third of the way full which is inconsistent with previous serving size. Our waitress seemed snarky, and unfriendly at best. She never noticed we didnt have water, and that happened two separate occasions with the same waitress. The only reason Im leaving a review is because I love this place and really hope they can go back to their regular outstanding service.
Pretty good coffee, love that its local. The atmosphere is very mellow and warm. Staff varies but is usually friendly.Tonys offers a single vegan baked treat, and its always the same. Wish there were more options and varieties as with downtown Bellingham coffee houses.
Absolutely wonderful....Nate & staff prepare & serve such tasty food..best quality and presentation is so artistic...BEST French Toast/Fresh Fruit...my husband Garry loves the Scrambles..every meal weve had is great...weve taken sister/brother-in- law from Wales in & they raved about it too...a MUST GO for all of our visitors..waitresses feel like friends.. thank you!!!
Super adorable and trendy place. Dishes are all interesting and good, but not great. I would go again though just because the menu is so interesting and the atmosphere is fabulous.
Great place for breakfast and lunch, the service is fast and freindly even when they are crowded.
Got a classic burger and fries for a quick take out lunch. It was amazing I could tell immediately how much care they put into their ingredients. Will be ordering again:)
Normally a solid 4 star place, but not happy with the service on Friday November 8th, as the 2 young ladies were more involved about their weekend plans then finishing my breakfast burrito and scone, which I asked to be warmed up. At least 10 minutes later I asked if it was ready, and one of them said - oh, sorry I forgot.Next time in Fairhaven, I will probably go to another place to try !
Great breakfast and good coffee in a cool spot. Cheap tasty options. Out door seating in good weather.Tip. A half order is plenty of the potato dishes! Yum!
Tonys coffee is one of my favorite coffee places in Bellingham. I go there every time I am in Fairhaven. They are usually pressure busy but the staff is always nice. They have good options and prices. They roast their beans locally and you can often find their coffee in other restaurants and grocery stores. They are attached to Harris cafe which is also great. Highly recommend, just their regular drip is great but they have many options to choose. My favorite is usually a Latte with Mexican Chocolate. Go there and try it at least once, worth it for sure.
Food is good. Typical Bellingham. Service is usually very good. This time not so much. Slow. Had to ask for silverware. Etc
I will ALWAYS recommend this spot for anyone stopping through Bellingham! Do yourself a favor and try the Eggs Toulouse if you get a chance; someone gave me this tip years ago, and Ive never eaten anything else there since. Also, the coffee is delish! Its generally pretty busy though, so prepare yourself to wait a bit for a table.
Absolutely delightful.Excellent brunch options (no egg benedict though for you eggs benny fans). Delicious and friendly service. Busy on a Friday lunch rush but still easy to hold a quiet conversation.
Loved it! There is something for everyone on the stellar breakfast menu. The food was familiar, yet different with bright, fresh flavours. If it was in my neighbourhood, Id be a regular.
Phenomenal little friendly place, with some of the best Quiche Ive ever had! Love the coffee, love the awesome staff, love the food, and the environment and atmosphere is super friendly and gorgeous, being in the historic district and all! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed, nice little coffee shop (or looking for a great meal!)
Great, homemade food. Not quite 5 star, but really like this place. Funky. Real. Healthy. Thankful to have a place like this to eat at from time to time.
No one does breakfast in Bellingham like Harris Avenue Cafe, in my opinion. This has also been a favorite for my parents when they used to come visit me. The breakfast potatoes are phenomenal. Theyre always spot-on with everything. The service is always very nice and the prices are decent. The atmosphere is the best by far. It is incredibly charming and relaxing; a great place for breakfast or lunch alone or with others.
Tonys is a Bellingham staple. The coffee is good quality, especially if you prefer dark roast. Good baked goods and food selection, and great setup for sticking around a while.
Local Fairhaven spot with great food, friendly staff in a warm, cozy setting. Terrific coffee! Well worth the wait.
Food was good. Quick service, they dont split checks and if they do, they charge a dollar extra per separate check. They have cool menu items not found at the other bellingham cafes
Love this place, the food, service and decor is fantastic. Get there early if you dont want to wait. But it is worth the wait too.
