Delicious donuts and late opening hours! I highly recommend their apple fritters and french crullers, especially if you can visit a few hours before close when theyre fresh.
We drove about 20 minutes from our hotel to check this place out. We are glad we did. A lot of donuts, fritters, and turnovers. We had 2 filled donuts and one fritter. We really enjoyed the cream filled donut and lemon filled donut. They are fluffy, not too sweet and hit the spot. However, the fritter we had was just fine, a bit on the sweater side for our taste but still pretty good.
The donuts are to die for. Every single one Ive tried has been delicious. I especially enjoy the buttermilk bars, old-fashioneds, and crullers. Last time I was there we could see one of the chefs forming the dough and that was neat to see the big mass of pillowy dough being shaped and formed. As an extra bonus they also sell ice cream! Basically all your dessert dreams come true.
When your lady requests donuts, you do-nut say no. We asked around about donut shops throughout town and learned about this spot. They have an amazing spread of choices to please anyone in the family. I’ve had donuts when after eating, they kinda feel heavy sitting in your stomach. There is a weird film in your mouth from the grease they were fried in - not this place. I have not had a bad donut from this store at all.Staff has been great each time we’ve been here. We usually snag a half a dozen for the family.
Lafeens has the best donuts in the world. Try the apple fritter!
Great selection, tastes as youd expect a donut to, nicely priced.
Best doughnuts ever. Local and made fresh daily. Maple bar thankfully wasnt over-iced to the point of tooth-aching sweetness.
This place is as awesome as it is delicious. You know there the best donuts around when people are willing to wait in line to get in.
Great local donut shop that has been locally owned and operated for several decades in the same spot. They have ice cream as well, but nothing to write home about. The donuts are fresh in the evening around 6:00 p.m. Great variety and prices, dont forget to check out the pumpkin spice donut in the fall season! My favorite!
The best donut holes around! They almost melt in your mouth. Highly recommended!
Best.Donuts. Ever. A friend introduced me to this place and now I cant leave...
After making do with store bought or chain bought donuts it was really nice to get donuts from a real/classic donut shop. I got an old fashioned and my daughter got a chocolate glazed old fashioned. It was around mid-afternoon so they werent the freshest donuts, but they still had a great flavor and texture (good crust with soft moist cake inside). Its probably good that we dont live nearby or wed be visiting way too often.
This establishment has the very best donuts Ive ever had. Once in a while I get an incredible craving for these goodies. I drive down from Ferndale.
An iconic Bellingham business. Best donuts I know of. Grab a couple warm ones and coffees. Stroll over the bridge and enjoy a perfect early morning date with your favorite human.🙂👽
The best donuts in Bellingham. So good, lots of variety, and reasonably priced. Prepare to wait in line on the weekends, its worth going early when theyre fresh & crispy. The folks behind the counter are super friendly! I dont have any photos to post because the donuts never last long enough to take a picture 😂
Amazing donuts! Very friendly staff. 100% coming back!
Best time to go is early morning or after 6 at night if you want fresh doughnuts. Thier doughnuts are very good.
Lafeens has the best donuts Ive ever had!
A seemingly small donut shop with great recommendations, we stopped here for 2 dozen assorted varieties. All of them were baked thoroughly, frosting sweet and creamy without falling apart. The coworkers were very pleased, and wed be happy to come through again.
Who doesnt like doughnuts?!? I have tried Lafeens several times in the 5 years Ive lived here because of all the raves, but either Im trying the wrong items or it simple pales in comparison to our favorite Michigan bakery. My go-to is the Apple Fritter. It should be plump with a firm outside and filled with bites of warm apple and cinnamon. The last one was dry and all I could taste was the fryer grease. We bought 3 donuts (different spelling ;) and at almost $7 for the experience, I expect a decadent treat. The search continues with Rocket Donuts out of the running.
So good! Its a hole in the wall with great donuts!
Cute home town vibes. Delicious donuts and decent coffee. Lots of options and everything is freshly baked. Can tell its a local favourite. :)
Shame on you for turning people away without a mask. Our family and friends will not be stopping by almost daily in the summer. You better research your mask effectiveness...
Always excellent donuts! I make it a point to come here whenever Im out this way.
Besides the lazy, rude kids working behind the counter, they do make a decent donut.
Had placed an order for a kids birthday party for their donut holes and when we showed up to pick them up they said they didn’t have the order. They took our order well in advance and must have not put it in their system or lost our order.
The best donuts ever this is Bellinghams finest pastry shop but prepare to pay for that scrumptious treat they are spendy.
Theyre maintaining strick Covid protocols well beyond CDC relaxation of mask and distancing requirements, which wouldnt be so bad if you didnt have to watch the clerk shoot the breeze with someone for several minutes while people were standing outside. Kudos to them for sticking it out through the pandemic but as other donut shops open I dont see people tolerating such hubris.
Best donut in Whatcom county!
We found this amazing dessert spot one night after already indulging in dinner. Despite our best efforts to NOT over-do-it... we over did it. And I dont regret it.Lafeens had coffee, ice cream (fudgy wudgy was all the chocolate I needed), and donuts. Oh my god, the donuts. Boston creams, cake donuts, turnovers, classic glazed and chocolate-frosted, and fresh-from-the-fryer bear claws. Mind you, this was after 9 pm.I was so impressed and excited to have found this place. We will be returning regularly.
Really good coffee and spectacular donuts served by people who care. They ask only one family at a time in their shop due to COVID-19 restrictions, which made us feel all the better visiting their shop! Theyre very considerate, and from looking at their bulletin board they seem to be very community minded! They are pinned on our map so we can find them again!
They should have more than one table outdoors if they’re only allowing one group in at a time, and maybe have someone at the door to let you know when to go in so you’re not yelled at by the lady to go out and wait.We got ice cream and had to stand around to eat it.
Great people great food would definitely go out of the way to eat
Great donuts. Really shouldnt eat there myself but its good I cant help myself when Im near.
The Donuts is good and different than other Donuts we have had in the past. The texture is very thick. The plastic spoons are almost kot strong enough to scoop it out. Everything was very clean and it was a comfortable environment. Washrooms were clean as well. We will be back.
Good donuts, good ice cream. YUMMY!
The best donuts ever. I stop every time Im up from Seattle. Added bonus is the awesome staff. This place just cant be beat!
Best donuts! These are the classic donuts you grew up with.
Excellent donuts! But you should make the maple bigfoot into a double bacon bigfoot. Id pay $5 for that.
Coffee blueberry fritter maple bar and a maple crueler all sub par
I changed from four to five stars as the service has GREATLY improved in last year or two. Donuts have always been good. Especially the buttermilk bars and fritters.
We LOVE Lafeens!!We got up at 5 Am just to get some fresh donuts, these are the best donuts around. But one thing I hope theu can do in the future is make donut cones for ice cream. Since they also sell ice cream I think it would be an amazing item on their menu!
Their donuts are delicious, especially the apple fritters. Prices are a little high but well worth it.
OMG these donuts! Its a 45 minute drive, each way..... So worth it! Try the buttermilk cake donuts!
They had crullers! The service was friendly and the crullers were tasty.
Super popular donuts worth the wait
I purchased several types of donuts and they were all great. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The person assisting me was very pleasant. They took every safety precaution for Covid. I will definitely return and highly recommend!
Good place to eat donuts and ice cream
Delicious! I came to this donut shop on a whim. The cabinet was empty but I was told that there were some fresh old fashioned, chocolate and Maple glazed that were still warm coming out. I chose the old fashioned. It was warm, with a delicate center and a slight crispy edge! It was warm, sticky and delicious! I should of taken a picture but I ate it too fast! I will be back!
Place was awesome, donuts were better than rocket. Customer service was great. Very friendly.
They are a local bakery that has great tasting donuts.
Doughnuts were awesome
Our go to in Bham even when there were other places... Its a Bham institution.
Hot dam this place is the bees knees! Every had a maple bar the size of a foot?? Come get one from this place!
Worth the trip. Great donuts & ice cream
Lafeens local family owned donuts are AMAZING!!! Theyre always sooooooo fresh and tasty, makes it easy to support locally! Staff are super friendly and its a pleasure to enjoy their donuts! 5*!!!
Every good and friendly
The best donuts your mouth will ever have the privilege of tasting, period. They melt in your mouth and leave you feeling like you are dreaming the best dream you ever dreamt. Legendary. Local.LONG LIVE LAFEENS!!!
Super savory. Definitely worth a return trip. The bill was appropriate for the quality.
Went to order Donut holes and a cinnamon roll but as my cousin went in to order, She was yelled at for the first custom to leave then once she went to order, The cashier was rude and told her practically everything was sold out so she had to settle for a box of miscellaneous donuts which was the only thing left for the day.
Best donuts Ive had so far!!!
They were rude and was happy at other costumer for yelling at us to hurry up and get out and thanked them for that. And happily returned our order.😠😡😠
A Bellingham Institution! Good treats and great service
Ive been going here for years. I live in birch bay and its worth the drive. Great place.
My favorite doughnut shop!
I know they have amazing donuts but if you want a decent sized ice cream cone go somewhere else! Tiny scoops. I felt ripped off especially when I was buying cones for my huge family.
Biggest/Best small bakery donuts Ive had in years. Even with the covid slowdown their service was speedy & top notch.
They dont have any deals for getting bulk donuts, but they do have a large variety of donuts to choose from. For 7 donuts I was out about 15 bucks. They were quite tasty but they arent going to be the best donut youve ever had.
Only 1 person in at time took 4 ever ....but worth it since I live in Everett yummm 👍
She was the sweetest person ever. Ice cream was so good. And doughnuts were fresh
Donuts were stale Very disappointed.
Best donuts in Bham!I wish they would clean up the inside of the store. The tables, seats, floors, and restroom are dilapidated and uninviting.Great place to grab a donut to go then walk it off at Whatcom Falls Park.
Hella good and classic donut shop.
Adorable little neighborhood treat.
I used to go here after school with my best friend, and it was the perfect thing after a long day at school, but to be honest the deserts are just alright.
The doughnuts are amazing. The customer service was splendid.
Great blueberry fritters. The people helping there are always very nice
Cute establishment. Lots of seating and tons of options to choose from. Cake donuts galore
I love going to Lafeens. Despite their out of the way location, their long hours make them very accessible. The donuts are always fresh but they are often sold out of different things. I havent tried their ice cream. Drip coffee is classic diner style youd expect to get with a donut. They have some really cool merchandise! I think the prices are very fair, especially for a ma and pop store. They have cruellers (spelling?) which are my favorite donut and are hard to come by. Ive never had a bad experience here!
Best donuts in town!
Small friendly shop with some good options if youre craving a snack
Delicious, Worth the snowy drive from Lynden!
Its a great shop! It looks a little bit basic but its kinda cute! The doughnuts are super and they have some smaller ones if you just want a bite. Theyre super soft on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. The coffee machine looks a little old but the lattes are actually quite good!
Very friendly, good doughnuts, great customer service and adorable boxes
Old favorite. Great donuts and brownies. They also have ice cream which is great to take across the street to whatcom falls in the summer!
Coming all the way from Ontario, Canada. The ice cream was fantastic. My sister and I walked in feeling a little shy, but the folks at the counter lifted our spirits instantly. All in all lovely family-run business.
Best doughnuts after 7pm
Great family run donut shop. Late night has less selection, but the service is good! Price is also very good!
Pretty great place. Clean facility, attentive employees. Didnt have chocolate powder for a mocha, but otherwise well stocked for a mid morning Sunday visit.
Fresh batch of donuts cooked up upon arrival. Good crowd of people. Some funny kids in the background while we were ordering. A delightfully cheerful place with all due respect
Fantastic donuts!! Friendly and conscientious service! Keep making those Bismarks, Ill keep eating them! Yum!
