I only give it a four because its so small. Otherwise its still a Sephora
Went to purchase a lipstick and they found one similar to what I use for a great price!!!
Unfortunately, I dont remember the sales associates name, but they wore incredible rainbow makeup on their upper lid. They were super helpful and knowledgeable in explaining what each product did and what would work best for my skin tone and face care needs.
Got a pair of shoes. Experience was good.
It was Great! Your associate was terrific 👏
There was very nice customer service
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this Sephora location. It is a boutique store so its not going to stock nor be as large as a standard Sephora, which this mall doesnt offer. Short of not carrying any gifts for redeeming points I liked the location. It was clean, located directly inside the JC Penny mall entrance and the staff was pleasant and helpful. They didnt both me and besides saying Hi they left me alone, unlike in a regular Sephora location. The shelves had a far amount of products and the selection was decent in my opinion. Sure, they didnt carry a palette I was looking for but it was a 50/50 if they even would given the location. Heads up though if you buy from here you CAN NOT return to a regular Sephora location. So if you are Canadian, like me, be sure of your purchases. Otherwise, you can collect points and use the app, try out products and check out without a mile long lineup. Oh, Im not sure if they offer beauty services at this location but I dont think so. I didnt see any chair or beauty lights for those types of services.
Friendly & helpful, definitely preferred over ulta
Really helpful and nice staff.
Not impressed.
I dont know much about makeup but I am really into the skin care products and am expanding my makeup collection. I got a lot of help and samples of each with no pressure from the sales associate. I felt attended to. That was my first visit. My second visit the sales associate was very helpful however she may have been a little under educated in the products I was interested in (a lot of turn over?). Everyone was very nice. Will update if anything changes, but at this point Shad pleasant experiences.
Love coming in there! An amazing girl named Sydney is the most helpful and sweet employee they have! Shes killin the game 💕💕💕
I had the best experience at this Sephora location. Assisted by the amazing Lilly, I discovered a new beauty regimen and The living proof hair products. She really knows her products and was so willing to help!
Worst experience at a Sephora I’ve EVER had. Someone teach these girls about sales. This was the third time I went in here and the third time I was disappointed and decided I’ll never go back. Not a single girl working (there was two) asked if I needed help when I was the only person walking around. Rude, unprofessional and snotty employees. I would have spent quite a bit of money in here had the employees worried more about their sales and customer service. If you’re representing Sephora and the brands they sell you should be out on the floor making sure anyone who walks in is taken care of.
This is the third time I’ve had an issue with this store. Only this store. The one inside penny’s at bellis fair. I’ve never had any issue with other Sephora JC penny’s. So I live about 35 minutes from the mall and I decided before I drive all the way there, let me call and ask if I can return a purchase I made online, that I got yesterday in the mail. I realize their inventory is different then typical Sephora’s so I totally don’t hold them accountable for that (also why I called as well) so I called and I asked the girl if I could do this return that I got online In their store, told her exactly what the product was, and she said “yes as long as we sell those products in store you can do a return in store for sure” she was very kind. I was even told to make sure I had the Debit or credit card I used for the order, so I said okay I will bring it. I’ve done this before mind you but I still wanted to call to be extra sure. I drove all the way there and the guy that helped the girl out basically told me he can only give me a jc penny’s gift card. Even though I had the full receipt, I brought my debit card like I was told by his own coworker, and when I told him this he didn’t even take two seconds before cutting me off to say he couldn’t do anything. I said to him that I called and I drove a really long way, again he interrupts me to say he physically can’t do anything and call Sephora and return it that way.I’m not expecting them to do everything for the customerBut my first tip would be to 1. Actually apologize for the fact that that your own store told me to come on In and bring my card 2. Don’t interrupt and act so eager to not helpIt’s not that this employee was rude at all no he wasn’t, but he wasn’t considerate at all of my time and effort and money spent to drive there. Didn’t even say a simple sorry. It would do him well because he had a really polite tone but once I even mentioned that they told me he had no consideration for the fact that maybe it was their mistake and he should try and own that mistake and offer some sort of help. I’m sure there would have been a way. If you can take the product and give a gift card then you should be able to do the return on the card. Especially because I had the receipt and it was brand new. I have also done it before and when I asked how come I’ve been able to do it in the past he didn’t even answer. I don’t know man, just a pretty bad experience. Over an hour round tripI never write reviews but it’s the 3rd time I’ve had a pretty bad experience in this store and this is the first time I’ve spoken up. It’s just constant being told one thing and another thing happening.
Had a poor experience here. I’ve always worn TARTE, and the gal that was “helping” me didn’t even bother to assist me in getting what I needed. I went to MAC instead and they did a wonderful job. Plus MAC is very clean compared to Sephora.
How has the manager not read these reviews and fixed the issue yet? The girls at this Sephora are extremely rude. Why work in retail if you’re going to be hostile/snotty to people trying to spend money in your store?? Save yourself some time and go to Ulta inside the mall- they are super sweet there
Ive had a good experience maybe once since going in. After tonight, I wont be returning. All of the girls but one (the lady with glasses and usually a side braid?) are completely rude. When you ask about a product, other than giving a professional opinion considering they work for a makeup store, they nod and say its...good. What? Today I went in at 8:55pm to grab a last minute concealer as Ulta didnt have what I needed (what can I say, I like variety) and one of the girls approached me immediately to say the tills were down and they wouldnt be taking any more customers. Not sure what their policy is, but anywhere Ive worked in retail, weve been required to stay open til the actual closing time. Not 5 minutes early on a Friday night.
Most of the staff are really uneducated about what is in stock and the products themselves. One of the managers is very nice, but one nice representative doesn’t make up for the lack of service overall from everyone else.
I wish I could give a minus rating. There is one clerk named Lucrista who is very, very, very rude. I shop here quite a bit. I have had to do some exchanges and she is never friendly. She acts like it is the biggest bother to do an exchange. She should definitely not be working in customer service anywhere. There is another clerk named Jasmine who is super kind and always friendly. They need to get rid of Lucrista and hire more people like Jasmine!!!!!! Customer service in Bellingham needs to change, big time.
Its amazing how I went to look at the reviews on this store imparticular and they were exactly what I was going to put down. The staff are rude with most the customers needing help or there to just buy things. Im asked constantly if I need help as if I dont know a thing about makeup, I also feel judgment from when I first step foot in there to when I leave. The staff also whisper to each other to what looks to be like theyre gossiping about the customers! Not to mention they will follow you around the whole time so you cant even look and/or swatch things in peace without feeling judged by these girls. Also when youre ready to check out you basically stand there for ten minutes while the employees are chit chatting with their coworkers or watching the customers. Absolutely ridiculous!
Thank ypu KAYLEE im appreciativeOf your service. Im an older woman with er..difficult skin. Kaylee was busy with others but atill multitasked taking the time to acknowledge me and my needs....thankYou i will be your forever customer
Girls were nice enough and everything but really messed up my order at check out. I originally went up with a number of lipsticks, but when the girl saw one of the colors Id picked, she very nicely suggested I buy a mini 4 pack for the same price than the full sized lipstick. I thought all was great, discard that one Im no longer going to buy anymore, and get the other two lipsticks. Well she accidentally scanned the lipstick I wanted, but put the one I was no longer getting in my bag. So now my receipt says Peach Kiss, when I actually recieved Dead Roses, which was the color in the mini pack I bought. I didnt check the bag or realize it until I got back to Oak Harbor. So now I dont know if I can return it since the receipt and the product dont match. Honest mistake, and nice girl, Lili, but now I mightve wasted $20.
As someone that works in retail myself I get that you want to be as helpful to customers as possible, but it becomes aggravating when you keep getting bugged by employees every five seconds when your trying to swatch products...This is what happened when I went to this Sephora location. One employee was really helpful and made some helpful suggestions and said she was going to make two samples of product for me, and offered to order the product they were out of for me . (They were out of the shade I needed, but had a tester ) and then she went to lunch.I go up to the front and start the transaction with a different employee, who basically rushed me through the whole thing. She didnt say anything about the samples when I mentioned them. When I asked about ordering the product I talked about with the other employee, she bascially said she had to ring someone else up first(the people in line behind me ) .I get being busy and all,but by this time I was just so diappointed and stressed out by the whole experience I just said I would order it myself. Not a good experience.
I felt like an outsider and the level of caring wasnt enough for my liking
Sephora Bellis Fair-Jcpenny...I will rate them as a big fat - 0. & sad people that stereotype you for the color of your skin....#Prejudice does not get you know where in life I am #Brown & #Proud
I went in and they didn’t have the foundation I needed in my color and they offered to ship it for free, very friendly and helpful but when they told me to confirm address I told them it was missing my apartment number and they said oh no it’s on there just doesn’t show. I said okay and 2 weeks later I was just waiting for it in the mail, no foundation, no email nothing. Called and they said it had to be shipped back because it was missing my apartment number. But I was uninformed of this, so here I was waiting and waiting for a foundation that was never going to come.
I wish you could give a lower score. I try as hard as I can to be extra caring to those working retail because I know from personal experience how frustrating customer service can be. I went into our Sephora looking for the Ciate London Liquid Velvet that was in the December Ipsy bag in the color Pin Up. Not only did the representative rudely scoff at me, exclaiming that I was looking for a DRUG STORE brand, the second representative stated I must be looking at an online only brand, at which point I pulled up the website on my phone that specifically showed they had the color I wanted in stock. Not only that, but the Ciate London Liquid Velvet in Pin Up is a SEPHORA EXCLUSIVE color (drug store brand my butt). They then proceeded to pull the VERY SAME website up on their tablet and showed me in the incorrect color that they didnt have it in stock. I pulled up the correct color on their tablet and placed my phone as a side by side comparison to show them it said in stock, to which they replied well maybe its something we have in the back that isnt out yet. Instead of spending $150 dollars in store, I decided to just order online. I qualified for free shipping and samples anyway. 0/10 would not recommend.
How odd it is that when I finally got around to leaving a review, they all say the same thing: This location is awful.First off, I am a seasoned makeup buyer and lover, so I hardly need anyone to hold my hand. The small amount of help I have I need shouldnt be an issue. The first time I went in, I was looking for the foundation I already wear. They only carry a smallll amount of shades here, which isnt the staffs fault but is still highly inconvenient. However when I tried to ask if I just wasnt seeing it, the sales bright blonde associate shortly said, What is out is what we have, and kept walking. She didnt even look at me! Seems like a missed opportunity to suggest a foundation I might have been satisfied with in the mean time? Or she could have offered to order it? Anything but blowing me off to go stand behind the register and talk to her coworker... Which is what she did.Despite my instincts, I went back twice. Every foundation Ive wanted to try in place of my current is always out in the lightest shades. The second time I asked, my friend asked if there were any vegan products. The sales associate didnt even know! Kat Von D is infamous for practicing vegan, I feel like that information is department store makeup 101. And, this is Bellingham, has nobody at all really asked about vegan products? She also asked for paraben free, and once again all she got was an I dont know.Today, I finally asked another associate for a recommendation and she seemed totally irritated to help me. She didnt offer to swatch any foundations, and the one she put in my hand (which just happened to be the one in front of her) was atrociously yellow and too dark when I swatched it myself. Feeling her attitude was making me uncomfortable, so I kept saying thank you over and over again and smiling, but she was pretty committed to having a bad attitude. Regardless, I bought a foundation and I am majorly regretting spending my money here.I am not ever going back to this location, and if you are the kind of person who likes a knowledgeable staff then I suggest you dont either.
As someone who worked in cosmetics for a major department store, I am NOT impressed with this Sephora location. Staff was rude about a return, testers were filthy, and none of the rewards in stock... wont be back!
Awful, always out of stock, way too small, pointless. Time to build a real Sephora this place is way too small and has zero selection. Hateeee it.
This place doesnt even deserve a whole star. The most rude/racist Sephora Ive ever been to! The workers basically stalk you if you are of any color and constantly ask if you need help. I couldnt even enjoy myself there & they had a worker from the clothing department come in and watch me while I shopped. Stick to online shopping if this is your nearest Sephora.
They don’t carry melt cosmetics.
They dont answer there phones at all!!!
Went to this location for the first time yest. morning around 11:30am 5/6. NOT a pleasant staff to deal with at all.
