What a lovely shop with a huge array of lighting and decor choices. Much of the lighting options were contemporary modern but we saw a few traditional and unique pieces as well. We came in as the owner was closing but he stayed open for us and gave us a great amount of help and attention, even though we were only looking for a lampshade and bulb. I especially appreciated his kindness in giving my mother a place to sit when she was hurting. Overall, a great shopping experience.

Very nice quality lighting store. They have a tremendous selection of top quality lighting solutions, traditional to modern. Customer service is top notch. I often get antique lamps repaired here and I’m always happy with the results.

Great staff. They were able to locate a replacement part for me that was a little tricky to find on my own. I will definitely come back.

We got all our lighting fixtures here for our new house. The clerk was knowledgeable and courteous. We got everything we needed in one place and it couldnt have been easier. They held them for us until we needed them and then delivered them free of charge! Each fixture was labeled for the room it went in and the bulbs that it used. Wonderful customer service and great merchandise at all price points. Why go to a big box store with limited stock and zero customer service? This place has them totally beat.

My wife and I visited Village Lighting in Bellingham after trips to Lowes, Home Depot and Ferguson lighting store. Only Becky was able to show and display the different types of light. What a DAZZLING & unique selection of on-trend lighting fixtures!! My husby and I were in awe the moment we first set foot in this store! FINALLY, Im able to find glamorous, contemporary lighting that most of the competitors in B-ham dont sell.Village Lighting carries a vast selection of fixtures, in every decorating style, WITHOUT price gouging. Their prices are incredibly reasonable! If Im unable to find exactly what Im looking for in-store, Village Lighting has a plethora of books I may order from. Additionally important is their customer service, of which was exceptional!Kent Moody, the sales rep as well as Craig, the owner, patiently took time with us, climbing up & down the ladder to give us as much info as we needed to make a savvy decision regarding which flush-mounted ceiling lights to purchase. Then, the most shocking thing occurred! Given the description of our needs, Kent said that he honestly believed we would be happier buying a pair of the lesser priced marble fixtures. Say what?!!!! No upsell of the merchandise?? This was the icing on the cake! We truly praise Kent for treating us with such honesty. Due to our stellar experience at Village Lighting, we plan on doing all our future lighting shopping here. And you know what? At home, we couldnt be more pleased, for the new ceiling lights we installed are spectacular!

I got 95% of the lights for my new home from Village Lighting and they were wonderful.Ann is a gem, she helped me all along the way with selection, helping me stay within my budget and overseeing the installation and their prices beat any I found on the internet. Thank you.

Beware of extra charges.I found a light on their website I liked, but instead of purchasing it online, I decided to go into the store see if they had it in the store. It wasnt but I purchased it in the store with the sheet I printed of their website. When I went to pick it up 3 weeks later, they charged me an additional $43 freight..... even though it was free shipping on the website!! Told them it was crazy to charge in-store purchases freight while advertising free shipping online... staff said to come into the store to get a refund, then when I went into the store, they said I had to call them. I could tell by their faces, that they had no intention of giving me any refund. Bad customer service.UPDATE: got my refund a week later.

Worst Customer Service Ive ever experiencedOur small business had an absolutely terrible customer service experience dealing with Village Lighting, I would recommend avoiding them at all costs. We were verbally quoted around $100, and a one week turnaround to rewire 13 lamps.When Village Lighting finally fixed the lamps, one week late (twice as long as quoted) we were told that the charge would be nearly $500, or 5 times what we were initially quoted.When we said that was not what we agreed to, the staff and owner were unprofessional (said that they laughed at us, provided contradictory statements, ignored questions about reasonable business practices) and were 100% unwilling to compromise. When we offered to pay for the lamps they refused to take a credit card payment for fear of losing the transaction to a chargeback, and made us wait 30 minutes while they processed a business check from a local business. We had to pay the fee to complete our project on time, and as a result our only recourse is to take them to small claims court, file a formal complaint with the BBB, and the State Attorney General.I would recommend that you do not do business with this company. Even if this was an honest mistake rather than outright fraud, they are unwilling to provide good customer service. If you do choose to do business with them, I would highly recommend getting anything in writing up front, as a good faith estimate from this company will be treated as anything but.

My wife and I were impressed with the selection and purchased many items at this store. Down lights, accent lights, table lamps, floor lamps and some other items. Everything we purchased has been of a significant price and expected to have equal quality. No such luck. The disappointment and their inabilty to actually repair these items have forced me to write a negative review. We will not be returning customers.75% of evrything we bought has failed some in less than six months, others in less than two. We advise researching another source.

DONT BE FOOLD BY THE PROSPECT OF SERVICE FROM VILLAGE LIGHTING -BUY YOUR LIGHT FIXTURES ON THE INTERNET!My wife and I recently competed construction of a home on Lake Whatcom. Our experience with our architect, the contractor, his trades and suppliers and all of the workmen was stellar - with one exception. When we built we tried, where possible to buy local. this included light fixtures and lamps from Village Lighting through our electrical sub-contractor. BIG MISTAKE!After sale service worse than non existent - it was discourteous and insulting.

Staff was rude and unattentive. Dismissed my husband for a part request and just walked away. Not even a we dont carry those very busy talking to each other about things on their streets at home. Went in for multiple things to possibly purchase but after the first response we walked out and will NEVER darken their doorstep again!!
