They always have plain, salted, and Cajun, and the day we were there they also had boiled peanuts in Old Bay - so good! Great stop for local souvenirs if you’re passing through or traveling.

There is something about being able to get fresh boiled peanuts without having to track them down on the side of the road from a stranger that just seems right. I have never lived anywhere that had a shop like this, and now I think every city in the southeast should. Alabama Peanut Co has upped the game with its ever-changing flavors, adorable peanut adjacent gifting options, and fun location on Morris Ave. Grabbing a midday snack of boiled peanuts on a cobblestone road sounds like a dream but Birmingham is lucky to have it as a reality. These delicious peanuts have become a favorite weekday treat at our house and sometimes even a weekend lunch option!

I try to stop in whenever I am in Birmingham. Their boiled peanuts are perfectly cooked. Their flavors are amazing! I got salt & vinegar, buffalo ranch, and low country boil in addition to the classic salt. The low country boil was just unbelievably delicious.I havent even mentioned their roasted peanuts. Just as delicious.

I stopped by here quite a few times a few years ago when I was worked in the area and can undoubtedly say that the Alabama Peanut Company knows how to make good peanuts - who knew?APC sells it all - peanut brittle, roasted peanuts, cajun roasted peanuts, and boiled peanuts in such a large variety of flavors you never even knew existed. They also have a lot of miscellaneous Alabama souvenirs that even a local would appreciate.At the moment theyre doing a curbside pickup system through their website that is easy-to-use, quick, and efficient. Definitely worth checking out if youre in the area!

Our visit was just before pandemic. It was a very tourist-trap with shirts, hats and other kitsch that was interesting (we did succumb to the “southern and salty” slogan with the purchase of one hat and one shirt). What they did have was pretty impressive was multiple flavor options for your roasted peanuts and something that you don’t see every day: boiled peanuts (think peanut flavored beans that you have to shell yourself). It’s not shockingly amazing but well worth dropping in for a few minutes to check it out. I personally was hoping for a tour but they were not doing any tours that I could see.

I have always loved boiled peanuts, but really only tried them at gas stations. So I was blown away when I tried Alabama Peanut Company for the first time. Their flavors are so creative and soooo delicious. Such a fun addition to Morris Ave. The building has a lot of history, and they serve classic beverages like RC Cola and YooHoos. *Dang Dijon is my favorite flavor, but I havent tried one yet that I havent liked.

Excellent, love this place. I stop by and pick up Boiled and Roasted peanuts every chance I pass thru Birmingham (and theyre open). Everyone LOVES their boiled Jalapeño Ranch flavor. If you buy a small container, better upgrade to large, and get a second one for later or share. Because you WILL regret not buying more. Their Roasted Peanuts are 100%, the absolute best Ive ever had, amazing flavor penetrates through the shell and into the nut on the inside.

These are the best boiled peanuts I have ever had. Really appreciate the ability to get these delivered during the virus. It is a great pick me up. The peanuts are piping hot when they arrive at your door. Very impressed and cant wait to try more flavors.

The weekend is the time to come because they have so many boiled peanut flavors. I would recommend the firecracker sweet tea or the cajun.

You can read articles about this place all day and know its a cool place, but its seriously one of the best things about Bham (assuming you like peanuts and appreciate antiques).

Walk in and you see old Planter’s roasters from 1920, humming and spinning with the savory aroma of ballpark peanuts in the air. Old glass Coca-Cola bottles sitting in the fridge. Freshly boiled craft peanuts with flavors so unique you have to try them to fully grasp it: Buffalo Ranch, Siracha Lime, Salty Dill Pickle, Dreamland Sauce, Milo’s Sauce. You name it. This is quite possibly the most ‘Alabama’ place in Alabama.Mouthwatering boileds. Perfectly salty or spicy roasteds. All paid perfectly with a local craft beer, your go-to ice cold light beer, or even a Mexican glass-bottle Coke.This is easily one of the best and most unique places in Birmingham, possibly even the state. A true staple. Housed in the famed “Peanut House” that’s stood on Morris Avenue’s cobblestone since 1907. This place deserves a sixth star - and a historic marker.

I have a new found love. Their Cajun roasted are amazingly delicious. The customer responsiveness is top notch. For a small little store they sure do excel in all aspects of customer satisfaction and have an absolutely delicious product.

If you love boiled peanuts, then this is the place for you. A rotating menu of specially flavored options that are all delicious. Special mention must be given to the Wickles flavor.

This is the greatest peanut factory in the world. The shop is in wonderful hands with the shopkeeper who had moved from Washington state to Birmingham (we’re still sad that we didn’t catch his name!). He showed us all the peanuts that were roasted fresh and also the most amazing peanut brittle that I’ve ever had in my entire life. I grew up with peanut brittle in Australia and as an enthusiast, let me tell you - there is no other brittle as magnificent as this one - it’s got this perfect lightness to it that you won’t find anywhere else. This place is a must visit if you’re in Alabama. Go out of your way to find it - one for the ages!

I am in love with the old, historic, vintage atmosphere of this place, as well as, its location on Morris Avenue. As a Bham native I cant believe I have not know about it sooner! Glad to know about it now. Fun place! Where else can you get fresh roasted peanuts from a vintage roaster plus other goodies in an 1885 building and experience Bham in days gone by! Cool architecture- especially the spiral staircase!

My wife’s family is from south Alabama where boiled peanuts are a staple and pastime. This is an awesome spot with perfectly cooked boiled & roasted peanuts. The atmosphere is super historic and the service was friendly. Check out their Instagram for daily menus that feature some truly outrageously unique selections. From pizza flavored to Greek style. Check out the cool merch they have also while you’re there. Glad to have a unique place like this in downtown Birmingham thriving and doing well.

What a little gem of a place went as part of a tour I was on, fabulous, never knew anything like this existed, not just your plain everyday peanut, they are cooked in different ways and the flavours are yum, what an experience, would have loved to buy a jar of their pickled apricots but dont think customs would allow it..

I feel like Ive been missing out my whole life. As a northeast native, boiled peanuts are a foreign object. However, now that Ive had one, I cant stop. These folks make the best Ive ever had! Of course theyre the only ones Ive ever had but who cares ... Theyre delicious! And very friendly service to go along with the peanut experience.
