Almost perfect for a neighborhood grocery store. They should be moving to the new store soon and I fear the new store will be upscaled and lose the informal charm of this location. Many of the customers shop here because they do not need to get on a busy highway. It is not uncommon to see these customers several times a week.
Diverse selection of items but the store is small but they are preparing to move to their new building and location which is close by.
Outstanding customer service. Young black man assisted my client Who is a cancer patient & me . So kind and respectful. Wish i got his name. He worked with the cashier on number one; check out lane around 12 noon 4/12/2021. Awesome workers... We will be back... It pays to be kind.
Love my Pig!Staff always super duper nice!Great Meats!Only place I buy ground chuck!
Nice people, need more organic items like flour
Great hole in the wall place. You can find more local brands here than anywhere
Always a pleasant place to shop Staff is very friendly Stores always clean and neat
They always have everything you need and not crowded. Support your local grocers!
A little run down but great selection of local items
The greatest Piggly Wiggly ever. Wonderful staff, clean store, great prices. The best part is the massive selection of local and craft beer. Great wine selection, too.Theres also free coffee, nearly all the time.If you live nearby, or are just visiting, stop by this Piggly Wiggly. Youll be glad you did.
Very good and clean friendly
Great selection of meat and beer!
The store was clean and the staff were helpful however prices were considerably higher than say, Walmart. None the less, it does have that neighborhood feeling that big box stores like Walmart can never hope to achieve.
Very friendly, and helpful folks!
I love the Piggly Wiggly. Its so convenient.
Nice store when you need to make a quick run to the grocery store. The staff there is always very nice and friendly. They also have a great selection of beer and wine.
They have a great selection of items. I like the produce and deli departments. The staff are friendly and helpful and if its not on the shelf they will check the back. They give rain checks for specials if the run out of an item. Its very clean and organized.
Love the Pig
Store was clean, workers that were stocking the shelves were very nice and helpful. Cashiers need more knowledge and training though concerning how to cash out customers that are using gift certificates and coupons because they had no clue whatsoever.
This place is very racist, they treat black people poorly. The staff doesn’t appreciate hard workers. They pay and treat white people better in position and make the black people work under low pay and standards. It’s pathetic in this well being time. Even as a customer that don’t offer all deals as other neighborhoods for black ethnic. The store manager Shane has a red neck attitude that he give and hire others to follow in his lead. It’s not fair being in a world of other races that they discriminate towards people who they ask for help from. They want to use teenagers so they don’t have to offer pay and use it all for themselves to have and live off of. They over pay the ignorance of people who are in management that uphold this distasteful character... while low paying the hard ball manager who has a good heart towards all races, especially when they show favor towards a black person. I don’t understand how such people can call their self human beings and stand for Christ in the Lord. That is the devil works and people abusing their position of authority. I wouldn’t spend any of my money to a place of business that doesn’t treat humanity with dignity and respect.
Small store but layout is well designed. Large variety of wines. Meats are on sale at the same time each week. Butcher will be happy to see that you are satisfied with your cuts.
I really enjoy the employees. I love all the local fare they sell. Plus the events they hold in store and in the parking lot!
The produce is excellent. The meat is better than I expected from a grocer over a butcher shop. I went once and had a cart full of food, after check out I realized no check book or debit/credit card. The manager at that time told me to bring money the next day, he let me take my groceries home. You better know I was back in the store the next mooring at 7 am with the money !
Great service
We only go here if we absolutely have to. Dont buy the produce. It goes bad immediately and is often already expired upon purchasing. Have had this same experience with cheeses, lunchmeats and so many other items that I got home and found mold on more times than I can remember. The prices are comparable to publix where you dont get expired food and theres no place to change a baby here.
Neighborhood store with surprisingly good selection. 20 tap craft beer station to satisfy any taste. Wine store has more great $9.99 choices than anywhere Ive been. Best value meat for hamburger lovers! Shopping the specials leads to finding a great value almost every trip.
Great as a quick stop. Never buy the meat, Ive had to return literally a dozen times, every now and then giving then another chance. The last time I had to open windows in my kitchen to air out the smell. Stick with packaged goods.
Im there every week
Thank Goodness for this Store!! I Love It is So Close and Quick to Go in and Grab what you need!!! I do not drink Alcohol but I do notice the many choices of wine and the Help they Give to Customers who Enjoy a glass of wine or a beer after a long day of work...
This store had exactly what we were looking for. The employee that helped us in the back was so friendly and informative. They had a large selection of products that are not offered at other stores. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
The store smells rancid, like spoiling meat. As soon as I entered, I had to keep myself from getting sick. The closer I got to the warehouse doors, the worse the smell became. The meat department has a health rating in the upper 90s, so take that as you will. The floors, the carts....dirty. The older, short-haired Caucasian woman who was the cashier was rude and clearly viewed me as someone with whom shed rather not interact; because of her attitude, the feeling was mutual. If it had been my choice whether to be in that store or not, I wouldve hightailed it at the first whiff. Maybe the worst part was that I felt like I carried the stench of the store after leaving. Disgusting. Do better. Choose another store for your groceries needs.
A typical Pig. Convenient location for Bluff Park, its almost iconic. Store was not super clean but the staff was very helpful and friendly. Has the feel of a real neighborhood market.
Awesome grocery store. Has that small town vibe to it. Everyone here is so nice.
Great beer and wine selection, and the guy who works in that section is super helpful if you dont quite know what you are looking for. Good selection of locally made products. Produce leaves something to be desired.
Ive shopped at this grocery store since I was young and it is just a good old fashioned neighborhood market. They dont carry everything you might be used to in your larger grocery stores but you may be surprised at what kinds of specialty items they carry.
Nice small town like grocery store. The newer giant stores have their place and so do ones like this one!
Service usually great. Good selections. Love the neighborhood atmosphere
Great customer service and friendly staff.
This was my first job,I do like the employees of this location. Overall a great store.
I called to speak with the manager. He was short with me, rude, and hung up on me. I did not use any bad language, he was simply too busy to listen to me. I am a senior citizen, and often panic when I am rushed. It actually makes me slower, and some folks think I do it on purpose. I will not do business here again. I was calling to ask if my 90 year old mother could get change at the office there occasionally instead of having to drive to Riverchase to APCO credit union. I own property in Bluff Park, and voted against the Neighborhood Wal Mart. Give me another chance, and I will vote for it!!!
Always have what you need!
Didnt find the canning lids, but I did find canning jars
Been coming here for 40 years. Love it. Its the central hub of Bluff Park. We say: See you at the pig. Meet me at the pig. I got it at the pig. Go to the pig.
Love the Pig! They are adding new items in produce and are carrying more local products. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. I am in so often, they know me by name. Thank you Bluff Park 🐖!👍
Good place to shop. Got what I was looking for. Saturday will have special sell items and a number of vendors with free samples.
I thank Jesus everyday for the Piggly Wiggly. It protects me from Wal-Mart
Good prices, good selection of productsYou wont find at Walmart!
Small store and can be a little pricey but all the workers treat you as if theyve known you forever and its nice to have a grocery store that small and close. The alcohol section is also super amazing and they have beer on tap.
Great store. Small town atmosphere. Friendly staff. Well stocked. Great meat dept.
I think the people (the staff) here use drugs. But great prices on a few things.
We love our local Piggly Wiggly! Its so convenient for us and the employees are always so helpful and friendly. The beer and wine selection is top notch and we love that they fill growlers here!
Not the biggest or flashiest store, but bargains are easy to find, especially in meat aisle. Wine and beer selection are great.
Update: they consistently close before the listed time. I will not be back even if they are the closest. This store is very hit or miss. Mostly miss though. The produce is rarely acceptable. Its always old and wilted and if it comes in a package they hide old produce in the middle of the package so you cant see it. Dairy is sometimes ridiculously close dated. If it wasnt so close I would stop going completely. I dont buy much meat besides chicken but the chicken Ive bought is usually pretty.
Loved the store great customer service loved the shopping experience
Customer service is great, usually fast lines when I go through there. And they have the best beer selection in the area.
This Should be a nice place to shop, considering that they are the only grocery store in BP, but unfortunately it is not for MANY reasons.I have purchased food that was expired, molded or stale. The first time I let it slide because it was ice cream. The second time I threw my receipt away, so I couldnt return in. The third time, I was just so fed up with them, I said good riddance! Today one of our clients brought us a cake and it was COVERED in mold; it was absolutely disgusting and I will never personally shop there again. We (other co workers) used to spend a lot of money in this store because it is right down the street, but an extra five minute drive to Publix is worth it to avoid all of this!It is pretty obvious too that all of their prices are WAY over-priced, so there is no reason for food to bad/expired. Everything in the store is dusty also, so you can tell they dont clean or check food that has been out for awhile.Lastly, the majority (there are a small number of nice ones) of the cashiers are rude and/or unfriendly so that always makes the visit even worse! Someone really needs to do something about this place, otherwise I cannot see them staying in business!
Great selection of beer and wine, and I love that they carry so many locally produced foods!
Piggly wiggly nowadays is more of a convenience grocery store which means the prices are way too high! So I try to avoid going there unless its an absolute necessity or emergency
Good selection of local items and management is very responsive.
Awesome, properly prepared for social distancing, courteous, and professional
Always a good place to grab something quick and the staff is really nice.
Not the best prices, but it is the most convenient grocery store in Bluff Park. Sometimes they have great selections available, but other items have fewer options. Nonetheless, Im glad to have the Pig close by in case I need anything.
Excellent beer and wine selection. Great service, too.
Great beer selection for a grocery store this size; you can even refill your growler. The butcher isnt bad either. But the building itself could use a facelift.
A friend of mine shops here a lot. I live in Hayden/Blount springs Alabama so quite a distance for me to drive
Some of the best sales around and the employees are top notch.
Piggly Wiggly is the only grocer in Birmingham who was able to help my company make a special order. Their customer service was helpful and did not give me the run around that other markets did. Thank You!
Love this store staff is helpful and they have a great wine selection A+++
You have to catch the sales to get a good price. Majority of the time everything in here is overpriced.
I go here all the time for the excellent beer selection. In terms of routine grocery shopping i would probably go elsewhere such as publix/wal mart/super target. The interior of the store is fairly antiquated and the produce looks somewhat questionable, but its hard to beat the convenience in the bluff park/hoover area.
Great Friendly NeighborhoodStore !!! In & Out ! QuicklyW/ Good Inventory &Employees ! Half or MoreLess Walking Than Say!!!Walmart, Target or Publix!
Good quality but Piggly Wiggly prices have increased.
Always a nice easy, friendly shopping experience
Clean, quick fresh Fruits and vegetables small
Friendly helpful employees
Fairly good and fast service and prices
Best place in Bluff Park to go for craft beer in bottles, cans or on tap. Excellent wine selection also.
Nice neighborhood hometown feel. Friendly staff. Located in Bluff Park, Alabama.
Good for picking up small staples and harder to find items
Great store, great service, excellent wine and beer selection.
Great craft beer and tap selection! My go to place for meats, usually fair priced and good discounts if you keep an eye out.
I work for Publix, but what can I say. I love the pig 🐖
Friendly, helpful service. Everyone is so helpful and kind.
This store is seriously outdated and old. It should get a face lift finally.. it is 2018 not the 60s. They have decent beer selection for a grocery store, so that is a plus there. They sell a bunch of cheap, unhealthy products on their shelves for quite expensive. I was trying to find REAL bread, (not Sponge Bobs bread) and they did not have any. SPROUTS will be my only go to store i guess. Honestly their meat selection is nothing special, and it looks not appealing to me at all! They sell the SAME DAY expiring products and also orange juice for a dollar quite often(piggy brand).😲 That just lets you know how much of a quality grocery store it is and how well the management is on the top of their game. I had to use their restroom(disgusting, smelly, old btw) and my way there almost tripped on a pallet laying on the floor. Everytime i walk back there, there is ALWAYS an unorganized mess. I wonder if the management does not feel embarrassed about it when customers see it?! 😕Their fresh sea food selection is almost non existent. I was trying to pick up a good sea food dip...did not have any luck with that. 😔 Bottom line is, after Trader Joes and Sprouts, or even after a Publix it is a BIG let down.Their only luck is that, there is no competition in the Bluff park area. Now put an Aldi in that area and it would eat them alive. Even those close minded ppl of bluff park would end up in there. Final verdict is: please bring in more healthy choice to ppl, otherwise just like their name says it, if you shop there, for sure you will end up a 🐖.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff and a great beer selection. If you dont see what your looking for just ask and theyll get it for you.
It was very clean and the cashier was nice.
Always able to find goods items
Love our Bluff Park neighborhood market...
My home away from home lol...I mean WHO doesnt love shopping at the Piggly Wiggly!? I know our family does and its not just because its convenient. The newer baggers need to learn a little bit about bagging but anytime anything is smooshed its an easy fix by going in and grabbing another item.Sometimes we like to walk down to the pig & shop it makes it a fun mommy-daughter adventure.
Not a great place for everything, but the beer and wine selection is pretty amazing, and the meat always seems to be the freshest and best value I can find here.
Very helpful &friendly staff. Normal Piggly Wiggly.
Great selection of beers. Be sure to bring your growler for a fill up.
Friendly helpful staff!
Good sales 👍 for the weekend holiday
About as good as one would expect from a Piggly Wiggly
The sale the Worlds Best Salsa!
This grocery is a nice neighborhood store. Quality meats often discounted. Friendly staff.
Local, good selection, nice people.
Prices are jacked up simply cause of the hoover/bluff park location! Kinda like they are saying eaither you pay 5 for this or drive a couple of miles to walmart or publix and get it cheaper. The convience of it all is ok i guess but to save money i would rather travel. Just my opinion... the manager isnt friendly eaither.
