Wow! Tom was friendly, fast and efficient. Absolutely the best! I tired to repair my muffler that fell off myself and he fixed it is 1/8 the time I spent trying to just find parts! This man needs to charge more for his skill. Hes 100% the expert I want to be working on my car. Less than 30 min and this car doesnt scream down the road anymore, whisper quiet!

Great service. Went in to have the resonator welded (as another repair shop said a replacement could cost anywhere from $300-$500). Ended up with a fully replaced resonator & a great sounding car for less than 1/3 of the expected cost. Oh, and it was also completed in less than an hour!

Then when Im dropping off the key, you say there is a new price for the same work. I own a small business in town too and know what reviews are meant to do, they warn the people of dishonest business transactions.

Honestly probably one of the best experiences Ive had when I came to a auto repair shop/muffler shop. I told him what I needed and they agreed and also give me some more information and things I might need in the future. They werent trying to upsell me and they werent trying to drain me of my money. There they were very professional and very caring. I did the math of how much I would be spending and it was pretty accurate. 10 out of 10 Im definitely coming back.

I called Tom Cherry Muffler 2 hours before they were going to close to see if they could fit me in same day. The owner answered and said they could. I drove over with my new borla axle back exhaust, and they installed it on my 2020 Camaro. It took about 30 minutes.The cost was cheaper than other places that couldn’t get me in same day quoted me. The owner and employees were friendly, honest, did great, and fast work and I’m very pleased with the service I received, my car is sounding amazing. Next time I need exhaust services I’ll be back, and I’ll let other Bloomington locals know. Thanks for everything.

Let me start by saying I don’t normally take the time to do Google reviews. Someone stole my catalytic converter and I was having no luck finding help here in town. After a friend who worked here recommended their services, I brought in my paseo. The exhaust pipe had damage near the engine and was separated near the rear axle. They offered drop off services, but I made in time to meet the owner. Next day he called me and was to the point on damages, gave a fair quote, and was quick to complete the work. Charged as quoted, very pleased. The work was fantastic. I recommend the repair I got here and am likely to recommend other services through them. Thanks a ton!

In and out, car doesnt even sound like its running!

Took my drag car in for some cut-outs years ago and knew they were the guys to take my truck to for a custom tail pipe to hook to the flowmaster 40 series I installed. A lot of places get spooked when you ask them to work on non-stock stuff, but all the guys I worked with at Tom Cherry did exactly what I was looking for, to tuck it up close to the bedside and leave extra on the end so I could cut it at the angle I wanted. Great work, service and price!

Went here because my car squeaked everything I applied the brake. The guy who worked on my car found that the brake pad had been horribly installed by the previous installer.Was able to fix the issue in 30 minutes for less than $40 and now my car doesnt squeak anymore!

I would highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and they are very patient. My car is notorious for being incredibly rusty and it took way longer than expected to replace my break pads and rotors. They didnt charge me any extra labor. The price they quoted for me at the beginning was the price I paid. I was very impressed. They even addressed an additional issue with the parking break and let me use their wifi while I waited. I felt very well taken care of.

Wow! Just wow. Excellent and quick service! Our muffler came apart after a previous owner had a bad weld job done. Took it to Tom Cherry Mufflers and was done in 15 minutes. Staff is great! Definitely recommend!

This is such a great place fast quality service at a fair price. Had my catalytic converter changed out in 30 minutes ... When I noticed I had left my wallet at home. No problem ... Didnt have to leave any collateral. 1 hr turnaround and all was well. He even thanked me for being honest! :)

They fixed my car fast and cheap, what more can you ask for?

My wife called and asked specifically about exhaust manifold gasket replacement. Unfortunately this shop does small welding and mufflers only. They refused to replace an exhaust manifold gasket. Told me to go find a shop and had no referrals. Tom cherry is not a full shop. I would be afraid now to let them rotate my tires or change my oil after speaking with them in person. If you have time to waste with a rude manager call tom cherry. All the 5 stars are from little cracks in tailpipe they weld and people with no automotive experience think they are magicians. Buy a 150$ welder, and learn something, dont line the pockets of scammers. Good luck if you use these hacks

I can confidently say that I will never go anywhere else to have my vehicle repaired. These guys do excellent work, and with them you know you’re not being ripped off. You can trust these guys to take care of your car quick, and at a price you can handle. Again, 5 stars just isn’t enough for this place.

Simply the best service I’ve ever received. My son and I drove his car from PA with a loud noisy exhaust. Our first stop in Indiana was to Toms to repair the exhaust. Eric was friendly and professional and did great work at a really affordable price. He repaired what could have easily been replaced for an much more expensive price. It felt good to experience integrity and fairness from a mechanic. I wish I could move this shop to Philadelphia and have all my automotive needs done by this fine shop. I highly recommend.

In a world filled with dishonest mechanics, this place is a breath of fresh air. Ive had them do work a couple of times and they wont pull sleazy tactics like selling you stuff you dont need or charging you for work not done. In other words, theyre honest and charge reasonable prices. They can do quite a bit more than mufflers so take a look at their website or call and ask if they can do the work you need and theyll do it right.

This is the best auto shop in town. I took my car in with some serious issues (brake lines, axles) and received great service at a fair price. Ismail (the owner) was open and honest when diagnosing the problems and did not attempt to sell me work I did not need. He presented me all the options available, including ones with different costs and outcomes. In the end, he left the decision up to me and didnt attempt to influence my decision in any way. I will definitely be back here again when I need work done on my car.

Tom Cherry Mufflers is a splendid place to take your car in. They offer a wide range of services, not just exhaust related issues. They did brakes and a cat replacement for me and did it cheaper than any other shop around.The only reason I knocked off a star is because the job took longer than promised in a time I really needed the car.That being said, they are very quick to make things right, and treat their customers with full respect.Would recommend them to friends.

My muffler was dangling and the muffler tip had almost fallen off. Was expecting to need to replace it or pay a couple hundred to get it repaired. They fixed it for $60! Looks great and cant even tell a difference before and after.Got an oil change as well, the gentleman at the desk said it may be a bit pricey because they get the oil brought in, but it turned out to be even cheaper than my usually place, grease monkeys.Definitely recommend if you have any car troubles.

I couldnt be more pleased with the service we received at Tom Cherry. The original exhaust system on my 2003 Camry finally bit the dust on a drive from Milwaukee to Indiana for a family visit. I was only supposed to spend 2 days before heading back, and these guys did everything in their power to make sure I was able to get back on the road in a timely fashion, including overnighting parts, fabricating a part that didnt arrive in time, and sending someone out again for a different part that was needed after the initial repairs. Dont take your car anywhere else- these guys are seriously the best. Thank you!!!!

While the staff is friendly enough, I do not recommend. I have had my car serviced with them 4 times, and the last 2 visits have ended up costing me more money to fix a problem that THEY CAUSED. The first such instance was diagnosed by a different auto repair shop as being the result of a bolt having been tightened to tight, the result of which cost me $370 to repair, which was more than the original repair that caused the problem. The second time was a simple battery change, during which one of the mechanics switched on my lights to On, which, being the daytime, I didnt see until several hours later in the evening. This led me to have to take several Ubers to and from work, as well as to a different auto repair shop to purchase a new battery.

After dinging up the connection between my cars catalytic converter and the back half of the exhaust system, I ended up with a VERY noisy drive back home. After figuring out that I might be able to make a haphazard repair which might or might not hold up, I figured that I would give Tom Cherry Mufflers a try. I used to go there years ago and I always had good results with them, so I figured that I would be better off in trusting the experts. Im happy to say that I was not wrong on this decision. I showed up at 8:00 AM and they took my car right in. The $50 repair estimate that the technician gave me was spot-on and my car is running better and a lot more quiet than it has in quite a while. Give these guys a try -- theyre top notch!

Absolute joke of a shop, I went in on October 13th, 2018 for a simple fix.I had the engine code P0038 (which is an oxygen sensor) and my parking brake was malfunctioning triggering the brake light. I was told that they were unable to repair my parking brake because I needed a new brake line and their shop could not perform that work. I was also told that my engine code was for an airbag, and they can also not repair that. I promised them that the engine code was not for the airbag, but they disagreed with me and assured me my airbag was broken and I needed to take it somewhere else to get it fixed. So they charged me $37.50 to adjust my parking brake shoes.I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND Tom Cherry Mufflers. I took my car in for a simple fix and they proved that they cannot handle simple work, they cant even properly diagnose a car.

Loved my experience with them. Dropped the car off over night, they called about 2 hours after the shop had opened the next more and let me know that it was finished. I would say the guy who I spoke to could use some communication skills, but with their quick work, great prices, and general good atmosphere, Id go back.

All of the reviews are accurate. I was in and out in 30 minutes and they fixed my issue for $45. The mechanic even showed me under the car and explained the problem to me. Very respectful and reasonable. I highly recommend!

Its my first time visiting there. I like them. Though they didnt find the exact issue of my car, I was impressed by their good manner. They diagnosed my car for free, and found my car having several tough issues. So I understand they werent the experts. I will consider this store first next time if my car has issues.

The best auto shop Ive been to. Other places in Bloomington simply dont compare. They hooked me up with excellent service, pricing, and help. Blazing fast work. The employees work hard and fast and dont delay their work like other auto shops. They got the job done for a great price. If you actually want your vehicles problem fixed correctly and for a good price, there is no better place to go.

If only Id known to take it here first, I could have saved myself a whole lot of time and money. $65 and roughly 30 minutes later theyd repaired my Catalytic Converter and the exhaust line. Went to Tom Cherry when I had a hole in the muffler of my Honda Civic. The staff was great and there was a very friendly man from Hungary whom I really enjoyed talking to. They did great work on my muffler, took about 40 minutes total, and they gave me a very very fair price.

I was referred to Tom Cherry Mufflers from a larger auto company and Im very glad I decided to go! My muffler was falling off and rusting out, and I was given a straightforward generous cost for a new muffler and bracket. Once I agreed, it took less than 20 minutes to complete all the repairs! I was dreading servicing my car because I am a student and I have very limited free time. I definitely recommend Tom Cherrys, they make time!

Went in because of the good reviews that they had on Google only to be extremely disappointed... Had a simple question about how to quiet down the exhaust that I just put on my car and was told there was nothing they could do when they never asked anything about the exhaust, car, what I wanted to accomplish or even looked at the car. The person that I talked to acted like I didnt know what I was talking about and said we are swamped, can you come back later? Yeah right... Wont bring anything to them again. Went to another Muffler shop and they suggested an easy fix and acted like it was nothing hard to do!

This place is great!! Had a problem with my control arm that someone replaced on my Acura. I was not even sure what the problem was but these guys gave me a free estimate then also found time to fit me in on the same day. The guys said hey you k ow we might not be able to fit you in today we have a few cars before yours to be done, but damn they fit me in and got me done spick and span. Also my car is great now. So thanks guys ill be back!!!!!

Within 5 minutes of the tow truck dropping off my car it was being worked on. 20 minutes later my car was fixed and I was driving away.My car has never been quieter and I was shocked how cheap the repair was. The owner is genuine and wont try to sell you parts you dont need.Dont hesitate. Go here!

Got me in and fix my brakes for a good price. When my analog brake system messed up a week later they rechecked my car just to make sure it wasnt something they did for free. It wasnt. And referred me to a different store which could fix the problem as it was electrical and they didnt do that part.

I was sent to Tom Cherry by a local mechanic who told me I had exhaust issues. Turns out I was missing a very long piece of pipe from under the car. He fixed it immediately for what HAD to have been a fair price given how affordable it was. I was so appreciative of his honesty, as my husband and I were obviously desperate to get it fixed - its our only vehicle and Im almost 39 weeks pregnant - and probably would have paid three times what he charged us had he said it was necessary. The whole experience was disorienting - when are car repairs ever easy or painless? Never until now!

Very fast and they did a good job repairing my exhaust

Two experiences with this place... both bad. Had them do brakes all around. When I drove off, there was a clunking sound from one wheel at every bump in the road. Took it back to them and they fixed the problem. A caliper was not reset properly. Six months later, that very same brake locked up. Took it back to Tom Cherry. They denied any responsibility. Within one year of this place doing our brakes, I have had to have all of the brakes replaced (at another shop!!) Tom Cherry did very shoddy brake work for us. They might be good for mufflers, but I would never have this place do your brakes. Oh yeah, almost forgot, they damaged a quarter panel of our (late model) car in the process of fixing our brakes. Denied any knowledge of how it happened.Added Edit: In response to owner... Like many people, I prefer to stay anonymous online. I assure you that I had the work done in your shop, and events happened just as I said.

I took my car this shop with no appointment for replacing flex pipes. Maybe Im lucky, maybe not. But they replaced them right away. Their job is Accurate for Decent price and Fast. What else do you need? Ive lived in like seven cities in US, and have never experienced an wonderful service like this time. I can say Btown people dont need to worry about mufflers as long as Tom Cherry Mufflers stays in Bloomington.

Tom Cherry did a very good job on changing a wheel bearing. They showed me what the problem was which was very educational and I would recommend this place to anyone. It was fairly cheaper than some other places.

Tom Cherry Mufflers for me is a rarity in the automotive repair world - the cost of the repair is almost always less than what I expect it will be going in. I have used them a few times over the last several years and each time I have been well satisfied with their service, pleasantly surprised at the relatively low cost, and in one case very appreciative of the advice they gave me on who to use when they couldnt do the repair themselves.

Went in to get my brakes fixed. I was told itd be about 15 minutes to get an estimate and it was an hour and a half before they said anything to me. They ended up telling me a bunch of things needed to be replaced and no existing parts were salvagable. I believe they took advantage of the fact I obviously dont know much about cars and couldnt tell what was actually necessary and what wasnt. Ended up costing me about $650. It was done that day however, which was a plus, but about 2 hours after the estimated time they gave me. I wouldnt recommend going here to get your brakes worked on.

Best experience at an auto shop of any kind in 20+ years of having my cars serviced. Put me on the lift as soon as I got there, even though I didnt have an appointment. Quoted me an unbelievably fair price on everything before servicing; even let me come under the car on the lift to show me what needed done and why. He was committed to replacing only what absolutely had to be replaced (in my case, a resonator and a hanger bracket). Meinecke quoted me $1200; Tom Cherry charged me $58, tax included, and had me on my way in 30 minutes. I was so satisfied that I went home, got my other car, and brought it in for servicing that day.Staff are both knowledgeable and nice. This is a local business worth patronizing far before letting of the chain stores at your car.
