What a bunch of clowns this location is. Wanted to fill up my truck and the pump said go inside to pay. So I go inside to pay and say I’d like a fill up on pump 6. She asks how much. Are you kidding me I haven’t filled up yet. I’d like to fill up. Is he says I need to know how much. Yeah I won’t be back. I can’t deal with stupid
PSA: if the pump indicates to pay inside (usually because the card is declining or something was entered wrong, pin code, zip code) you can pay with cash or card. You can estimate how much gas is needed to fill up, however if you over estimate you can come back in and retrieve your cash or get an updated receipt. The amount pumped is what you will be charged not the amount of the pre pay. I.e. Prepay $40 but only pump $32 your card will only be charged the $32 once the transaction is completed and not pending. Hope this helps those who arent aware.
Frequent this shell location regularly. never had any issues with staff. the only thing I would say is that liz, the mgr, definitely seems like she needs a few days off. shes never rude, but she does give off the vibe that shes just exhausted and drained. but shes definitely a hard worker. Ive never once gone there and seen her not working. whether shes doing paperwork or checking inventory on the floor, shes always always busy.honestly the only issue Ive ever had there is that on 2 separate occasions, after paying for gas, when Ive gone to pump it, the pump doesnt turn on the type of fuel I selected. 1st time I hit regular button and it selected the premium option instead. i hung up the pump and had to repay for it since I used my card. i had to wait a couple days for the original purchase to go back on my card. the 2nd time I selected regular again and it turned on the medium grade fuel, this time I didnt catch it until after I was already pumping. I dont know what the technical issue is with their pumps but I know 100% I hit the right button both times. it also happened on 2 different pumps about 3 months apart. Ive never had it happen at any other gas station, let alone any other shells.I used to always go to udf which is closer to my house but most recently Ive started going to shell more due to cigarettes being cheaper there and I just opened a fuel rewards account which gives me better fuel discounts than udf. lately, (oct/nov 2020) theyve had good prices on gas. cheaper than speedway by almost .20 sometimes and more comparable to udf (who usually has the cheapest price). its been 1.99 for almost 2 weeks. even after almost everywhere else was going up to around 2.15. including speedway next door.also, I love that I can order dunkin from my phone and swing through, buy my smokes, walk over to dunking, grab my drink and go. its always clean and I rarely Ive to wait in line. the location does kinda suck when trying to get in from hunt road but its not impossible. trying to exit via the hunt road entrance/exit seems a little more of a hassle but I only exit via Plainfield side which isnt an issue at all. they could definitely use a little bit bigger parking lot, though, to accommodate all the traffic in the morning and afternoon.I tried to keep this review relevant to the shell only. while this location does include a Dunkin and subway inside, I view them as separate businesses with entirely different employees/managers & store operations.
Rude employees and management. Most should not even be in a position of dealing with the public in any way. They cant even pretend to sound professional for the few seconds they encounter a customer. Options are slim for most of them, Im sure....but maybe working in a back kitchen of a restaurant or doing dishes somewhere would be more appropriate for them, as they have no idea what it means to be friendly to customers. That way they wouldnt have to speak to customers!
The staff was very friendly. Was looking for a certain item and the manager Liz was very helpful in assisting me finding what I was looking for.
The pumps and grounds are kept clean. The parking lot is a bit tight. Both a subway and a dunkin donuts are available inside. Clean bathrooms.
Put some gas, filled up on air, ordered a Subway friendly and informative staff all around. Was pleased.
Gas, food, drink. Our little local gas station mini-market/Subway sandwiches/Dunkin donuts has it all. Not only does it serve the role of feeding us and our cars, but the fuel is discounted slightly if you have either a Shell or Kroger fuel club account.Only two complaints.First; this is the most expensive fuel within 7 miles, matched only by the Speedway across the street.Second; since one of the property owners placed posts between the parking areas between the China Moon and the Duncan drive-through, there have been a lot more close calls as people try to cross traffic to go West bound on Hunt from the Shell lot.
I was having a bit of an issue with the pump -- forgot to press button (totally self inflicted). An attendant (woman with long gray hair)saw my issue, came outside and offered to help. What awesome customer service!
Convenient place for gas with awesome Dunkin donuts and shell shoppe!
Fast pumps and its easy to get in and out of.
Great location. Hard to get in and out of from Hunt Rd and Plainfield Rd.
Went in after fueling to buy a candy bar. After getting a $20 bill out and placing the candy on the counter, the lady behind the counter accused me of stealing. I wish I could have taken the gas out of my car and given it back. So insulting and rude. Never going back.
Good service and the subway restaurant is awesome.
Quick and easy. Always clean.
