I absolutely loved my experience with Ceremony. It was the first place I shopped, and Alix was thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, and skilled. Also, the place is GORGEOUS. I didnt find The One at that appointment, but after shopping in NYC and trying on an Alexandra Grecco rehearsal dinner dress, I ended up ordering it through Ceremony instead, because of how much more professional and good they are. If you are looking for personalized and professional, make an appointment at Ceremony!

We spent 2 days in Boston visiting 4 salons. I would highly recommend 3, and my daughter found her dress at one. Ceremony was absolutely visually beautiful, but we were disappointed and frankly shocked with the lack of knowledge, service, and professionalism at this salon.Bridal dresses are stock sizes, and almost always require tailoring discussions and knowledge. Our sales associate offered neither. She would help my daughter try on a dress and then stand silently in the corner, or wander off. As others reviews mentioned, it was awkward at times. All the other locations had associates with seamstress/tailoring knowledge, and happily offered suggestions and visions for what could or could not be done with a dress. In all other locations, each consultant spent time asking my daughter basic questions about her vision, her day, and made her feel special. This should be a the bare minimum with such an emotional and important purchase.Ceremony lacked basic professionalism, knowledge, and personal service. The owner /manager ( Dont know as she didnt introduce herself)came over and said that perhaps this wasnt the right store for us, and we cant, force the magic to happen. We visited many salons that were not the ones we found her dress in, but all others made her feel heard and their excellent service made us feel excited to be there. What the owner doesnt get is that the, magic happening is also in the process of searching for the dress. Ceremony was the only place I got off the couch to assist in a dress search, or inquire about tailoring. In all others, I joyfully sat back and let the professionals do their job.As someone who has been a manager and salesperson in retail most of my life, I personally have asked more questions and made more of a personal connection with clients ordering furniture, flatware and plates. We left ceremony and found her dress at Flair. We also found warm, knowledgable people who were excited to ask a few questions, answer many more, and make our experience special. Avoid Ceremony. If this is how they treat you when you are potentially purchasing, imagine what happens during the tailoring process, or during any glitches along the road to your big day. The cover here is way better than the book, and you deserve so much more joy and basic respect on your journey to feeling beautiful on your special day!

My experience shopping at Ceremony was great.I had already tried on dresses at two other stores, so had a reasonably good sense of what I wanted. Ceremony has a lovely selection of dresses in various styles (modern, bohemian, romantic, etc) and at varying price points. Because there is a fair degree of variety, it helped to have a relatively clear sense of what I wanted going in. (I knew which two designers I was most interested in and which styles I tended to like.)Alix was systematic about helping me identify what I liked about different dresses and make decisions accordingly. For instance, I liked the bodice of one dress and the skirt of another, and she suggested trying a dress that combined the two elements. She listened carefully to my likes and dislikes and was able to understand what I was getting at, even when I didn’t do a great job articulating what I meant.I also appreciated that she used our limited time efficiently. For instance, when it was clear I didn’t like a dress, she would gently encourage me to move on.Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommended Ceremony to any Boston bride!

Disappointing. The location is confusing, so we buzzed on a door parallel to River street and we curtly told to enter on the other side. Sorry, my bad. It was during a heat wave and we weren’t offered water. We had a young sales girl who couldn’t answer my daughter’s simplequestions, such as “ is this dress Spring 2021 or Fall 2021?” We told her our budget was $3500 and we were shown many dresses, but 2 were over $5000. Some of the samples were dirty with old makeup stains. Definitely not the “experience” we were looking for. Off to other bridal shops that will make us feel special as we drop thousands of dollars on a dress.

I had an appointment at Ceremony on 7/12/21. The atmosphere and aesthetic of the space is gorgeous and they carry a unique selection of designer gowns in Boston--the exact kind of modern, clean look I was interested in. The experience overall, though, was disappointing.First off, they only have a handful of dresses in sample sizes above an 8 so I (about a size 14) was packed like a sausage into most of the styles I tried on. To get around this, they seem to have enough dresses in larger sample sizes to give a sense of the general silhouette and feel for each designer. But then its on you as the customer to imagine what one dress will look like on you based on how this somewhat similar dress in a bigger sample size looks like. Thats just too risky for me to feel confident in choosing a wedding dress, considering both the cost and the importance of it.Secondly, the bridal consultant who worked with me was not at all attentive, very hands-off. I was on my own in the dressing room, squeezing into these dresses. Only once I put my arms through the sleeves would I then call her in to clip me into the dress. (Edited to add: the consultant was not with me in the dressing room due to COVID restrictions. I was not aware of this at the time, but I support that safety measure.) When she then directed me to turn around and make my way to the viewing area, she never even offered to help move the massive amount of fabric around my feet--especially frustrating considering when I bent down to pick up the hem myself in those small sample sizes, the clips immediately popped off. Once I made it to mirror and onto the pedestal without tripping--no thanks to her--and I began discussing the dress with my guests, she made almost no comments. No questions to get a better idea about what I liked and didnt like, how the dress made me feel, how I wanted to look on my wedding day--nothing! In fact, I often had to explicitly ask to go try on a new dress after an awkward silence where it was clear I and my party had nothing else to say. She didnt really keep the appointment flowing or guide me through the process, which I had assumed from my previous bridal appointment was kind of the whole point of a bridal consultant. In conclusion, if youre size XS-M, you know precisely what you want, and Ceremony is the only local place that carries that dress, make an appointment. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience at Ceremony in November. Shopping for a wedding dress during COVID can be stressful, but the Ceremony team and my consultant made it feel both special and safe. My mom, sister, and I had the whole salon to ourselves and I had preselected five gowns to try on, but my consultant also recommended styles after seeing what I liked. I probably ended up trying on 8-9 dresses during the appointment.I worked with Barbara, who was so accommodating, friendly, and helpful. She accessorized my favorite dress with a veil and put a lot of effort into clipping the dress from different angles so I could see how it would look in the correct size. She also didn’t rush us at all (even though we ended up staying past our one-hour time allotment) and didn’t put any pressure on me when I wanted to take time to sleep on my dress options. The salon itself was beautiful, not to mention the location in Beacon Hill, and the dress samples were in great condition. It ended up making sense for me to order my dress where I live in NYC, but the Ceremony team was amazing and I can’t recommend them enough to other brides!

My wedding dress shopping experience at Ceremony was amazing from start to finish! Alix, Molly, and the rest of the ladies here are truly exceptional at what they do. I knew I wanted an Alexandra Grecco gown and was able to find the perfect one that I then purchased during a trunk show weekend. My sizing was right on the line of two different sizes, so Alix invited me back in for a second measurement to be extra sure before we ordered. Im so happy she recommended that as she determined the perfect size and I hardly need any alternations now aside from the straps and hem. My wedding was unfortunately impacted by COVID, and Ceremony was extremely helpful and transparent on the updated timeline of my gown. Cannot recommend them enough - thank you ladies!

I had the most wonderful experience at this bridal boutique. One, the store is beautiful with lots of light and space. Two, they do not overcrowd the store, so you have privacy. Three, the women who helped me were so lovely and easy to talk to. I felt pretty intimidated since I had to shop alone, but they made the experience so easy and fun. I did come back to buy my dress!

I had heard terrible things about Ceremony from brides in the past so made a point not to go and found another boutique that carried the designers I wanted to try on. I had found a dress I loved, but wanted to try on a few more as well as the one I loved, one more time. Soooo I went to Ceremony, because they carried THE dress. Lets start off by saying COVID19 is not wedding planning friendly nor does it make dress shopping fun, but as a bride you want to have the experience. From the moment we walked in the women that was helping us was extremely rude and unwelcoming. She said we could look around to see if there were any dresses I liked that were not pulled, so I went to pull one out and she slapped my arm and yelled You are not allowed to touch the gowns. I wont get into COVID antics but her slapping my arm is probably worse than me touching a dress. She seemed disinterested the entire time and had no input on each dress I tried on. I came ready to purchase the dress I loved and quickly decided I was going to purchase from the previous boutique because of her hospitality and attitude. After 35 minutes I was ready to leave. She was trying to get us out the door as fast as she could anyway since we were the last appointment. If I can give any advice to future brides, find a boutique that welcomes you and makes you feel like this is your day, because it is!

Went on 11/27/20 and had a horrible experience. Was in and out in 20 minutes after trying on 4 dresses. The woman working could not have been less welcoming. Did not ask what I thought of the dresses, did not give any feedback, and did not offer to pull out anything else when none of them worked. It was like we were inconveniencing her. Would not recommend Ceremony to anyone.

My experience at Ceremony was amazing! Such a relaxed feel with the staff being very attentive and helpful. I went to another location where there were three other brides trying on dresses and it felt like they were rushing me out of there. At Ceremony I was the only person there and did not feel rushed at all. The consultant was great at seeing what I liked and pulled other dresses to match. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

I can’t even begin to describe how stunning this place is! Absolutely a must see for any Boston brides, even if you don’t get your dress here the experience alone is worth the trip. I went in this past weekend with my mom, sister, and best friend and every moment of dress shopping here made me feel special and beautiful! The woman working here was an absolute gem and made me want to buy a dress from Ceremony just because she was so classy, friendly, and welcoming to us!

Beware, felt like bait & switch sales approach. We Loved our first visit: a cool Back Bay space, lovely dress choices, the staff were warm and welcoming. Found the perfect dress! Once the dress came it was a night mare. Staff were cool, distant with No eye contact; it felt as if we were a burden. The Dress did not fit and we were made to feel it was our problem. They Expected us to pay the dress’s value in Alterations to Correct the wrong sizing. We Thought it was just us but we just heard the exact same scenario from another bride. Something sketchy about their operation. Their recommended seamstress must have a good thing going!

Fabulous experience at Ceremony. Hands down the absolute best visit I had in Boston. Amazing lighting with a giant skylight above the mirror. Best selection of my dresses for my style. Found 3 I loved - returning this month for the final decision! Some places were very stuffy and aggressive, wish I could remember the teams names because they were so relaxed, sweet and helpful.Cant wait to return and pick the dress!!Xoxo

Should be negative stars truthfully. Horrible experience! Worst customer service and all around demoralizing session for the bride and her family. The consultant was not helpful in describing the dresses or getting input from the bride on her taste and style. Left to us to choose which dresses to try on. Handed them through the curtain and didn’t assist with getting into the dresses and then announced they were all size 8 samples! Our bride would have been good in a 10 or 12 and couldn’t even begin to come out of the dressing room. They said they had 2 dresses that might work and kinda left us to them. No fussing, accessorizing or suggesting options. We basically just left - in tears, depressed and done.

I went to Ceremony yesterday and had Charlene as my consultant. I can not say enough great things about my experience. The building is gorgeous and Beacon Hill really sets the tone for an unforgettable day. The space is dreamy and elegant and my mom and two sisters were able to join me. At first I was nervous that my one hour appointment wouldnt be long enough but it was just the perfect amount of time; I was able to try 5 dresses on and really admire each gown. I felt like I had the entire space to myself and everybodys undivided attention (I think there was one other bride trying out gowns but we never felt cramped for space). Charlene was so personable and I ended up choosing the dress that she had picked out based on a few descriptive words that I provided her with. I would absolutely recommend Ceremony to all my friends and family and make sure you check the website for the types of gowns they offer so you know those are the styles you are looking for.

I purchased my wedding gown here just about a week and a half ago...I cannot say enough about Ceremony. From the moment I saw the door on the street I had a great feeling about the store. Alix (the owner) was there to greet us at the door, her vibes as we entered (she was barefoot and invited us to take off our shoes if we would like) made us feel welcomed and at home. The store itself it breath-taking, the white exposed brick and the way the store is set up is so aesthetically pleasing youll want to find your gown there.Molly, the bridal stylist is absolutely AMAZING. My maid of honor and I showed her a photo of the type of gown I was looking for and she pretty much pulled my dress out instantly. She was warm, welcoming, and extremely professional. When I picked out my gown, she was so happy for me you would have thought we were old time friends- she cared about how you feel on your wedding day, and that seems like a rare thing to find. Once I found my dress, Molly put a beautiful headpiece on as well as a gorgeous veil and allowed me to stay in the dress for as long as I would like. We were then welcomed to stay and sit, sip on champagne and celebrate while our purchase was going through. Additionally, we were the only people in the store until the last 15 minutes of my appointment. It really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and all of Molly and Alixs attention.I will be getting married in September of 2017 and I cannot wait to wear my gown from Ceremony Boston, I highly highly highly recommend it to any brides who are looking for the all around perfect experience. As we were leaving my mother said I am going to recommend all of our friends to this shop!Molly & Alix, I cannot thank you enough! Your professionalism yet friendliness is something I will never forget! You guys seriously set the bar! Thanks again! xoxo, Samantha

I wish I could give less stars. I cant even begin how awful my experience was at this shop. From the first moment we walked into the studio I felt unwelcome. Though we of course made an appointment and confirmed it, when the consultant buzzed us up and opened the door for our appointment she acted as though we had interrupted her from doing something important and how dare we. I say consultant because she never even introduced herself and I have no idea what her name is. My sister and I walked in and she sat us down on the couch where the only question she proceeded to ask us was our budget. She didnt ask about my wedding, where it was, what my colors were, when it was, how I met my fiance, if I had bridesmaids, etc. NOTHING except how much I wanted to spend. She only knew what style I was looking for because after an awkward silence I offered the information up myself. She the proceeded to show us which racks were in our budget and then she went in the back and SAT DOWN. She told us to pick out whatever we wanted and then did not help at all. We picked every dress we were going to try on. Maybe Im completely misunderstanding the purpose of having a consultant, but I was under the assumption that the whole point of having one and making an appointment at a bridal boutique is to be given help in picking the perfect dress for the most important day of your life. She finally decided to help out when I finally started trying dresses on, but only to clip me. In the pictures that we took of the dresses where she is in the background you can even see the sour look on her face. She offered no opinions unless asked and I felt like I was the one trying to engage her in the process instead of the other way around. I had to ask to look at a veil or anything to try and customize the look of a dress. I actually found the perfect dress for me, it was incredible and I was ready to buy it there on the spot but I was so put off by her behavior, apathy, and all around ass-holery that I refused to purchase at that store. My decision was solidified when she didnt even take my measurements at the end of the appointment, even though I had strongly expressed my love of the dress, even uttering the words this is it!, and she just simply wrote down the name of the dress on a piece of printer paper (not even keeping a copy or any notes for herself) and said just let us know I guess. I wish I knew what her name was so that they knew exactly who to fire. Earlier that day we had been at Flair, another bridal boutique and had such an opposite experience-- if youre looking for a dress in Boston, I would highly recommend you go to Flair and avoid Ceremony at all costs.
