Ive been to Zaras in over 6 countries and can say with certainty that this is the worst one. Its small, chaotic, the fitting rooms are so cluttered, and there were no baskets to put clothes into. Id chosen a few things to buy but had to try on more things and wanted to put my things aside so I could keep shopping without carrying them, and no one could help. No basket. Told to go leave it cash. Cash said they had no space. Went back to attendant who stashed them in some corner where clothes were being restocked. Line up to cash out was insanely long. Then on my way out, my bag of newly-purchased clothes beeped, and the security guard rudely beckoned me to come over as she took out my items one by one and checked the receipt, and made me hold my arm out to hold my clothes. Ridiculous experience. I was so close to just leaving hundreds of dollars worth of clothes behind and not looking back. Just not worth the headache frankly.
It is the worst Zara that I have ever visited! The employees are rude, No one cares about the customer satisfaction. I had an online order that I wanted to return. Manager Ricardo did not return that for me, though the expiration date was not even close. He said they have a system issue, he can not return that. Though I insisted, because I am a toddler mom who works everyday, I barely could schedule a time to go there to return the thing. I explained him my situation, he just did not care. I could not get help from anyone there.. So, I am just loosing my money because of an unprofessional staff. If you dont want to waste your time and energy, dont go to Zara located at Newbury street!
RUDE staff. Seems like a recurring theme. Clearly, the reviews are not being heard.12 Sept 2021 - Customers were asked to put clothes on hanger themselves before returning (mens section on level 3). When asked if its common, the cashier responded with a rude tone I dont know. Also, extremely slow cashier. He didnt care at all. Not expected of a brand like Zara.
The store has a varied selection of clothes, some you wont find at every Zara. However the reviews out there are true, visit with a lot of patience because youll wait outside in line and youll wait in line outside the fitting rooms and youll wait in line at the register. But do visit if you have the time and lots of patience.
Terrible attendance! There is a queue that does not work, the attendants give preference to customers with goods in hand and do not respect the order of the queue. Regardless of the reason the customer is in the queue, the customer is waiting and must be respected. I spent more than 30 minutes waiting to buy 2 gift cards.
I have visited Zara stores worldwide, I love that brand very good quality and affordable. I wanted to return some online items yesterday around 3 pm at Zara Newburry street, the manager and cashier were very rude, clothes everywhere.. no customer service provided.. Top management please think about these details as they might ruin the brand’s reputation .
The female clerk on Mens floor doesnt know how to properly fold clothes. My grandma would do it better than her.
Wonderful store. Busy. Not much in the way of Big and Tall clothing.
Dressing rooms are closed due to covid. I watched several adult women and young teens try on clothes over their street clothes. At least a couple employees saw this. When I did this I was the only one approached not to try on a dress I had already planned to purchasing. I understand that it is for safety reasons but I can’t help but think I was judged because of the color of my skin. The rules should be applied to everyone. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I left. This store seems a little disorganized and I have mixed feelings about the clothes.
I love Zara, but the employees are miserable. There has got to be a way to figure out how to make the line go faster, or hire faster cashiers. I swear they are slow on purpose sometimes. However, I love the clothes and the prices are usually great. I keep coming back here cause I love Zara but the employees have to do better. If you dont like it here, theres plenty of other stores you can work at.
Usually a long line out the door when you get there. Cute clothes but none of the staff offered anyone assistance.
Cashiers are terrible. They are so slow and most of them pretty rude. That’s so sad because I love this brand and their quality.
Terrible fake clothing that disintegrates in a year. Just buy the real thing used on ebay, 100x better.
Awfullly long lines. Cramped and packed store. NO parking. DO not come HERE! At least Natick has a larger section, bigger store overall and nothing like this place.
Good selection of clothes with frequent rotations. However, like most Zara stores the poor staff is always in a bad mood because they are clearly overworked and overwhelmed by the amount of customers. Cashier line is really slow, so if you are in a rush plan accordingly.
The line is crazy, most off item is sold out and store policy it’s discustting. I do go there because I love qualities and I always shopped at Zara back in Portugal but the difference is huge!
Unbelievably rude employees. Which is so sad because I enjoy their clothes but every time I have an employee interaction its so unpleasant that it just isnt worth going in anymore.
Extremely slow cashier... Be prepared to spend atleast 30 mins in checkout. I will not recommend this store. Shop online or find another location to get better service :(
3 story Zara. Good selection, long ish lines on a Saturday though
The only complaint I have is a long line to get in and at the register. Love the clothes !
I’ve been standing in line for 20 mins and every floor has a packed line but just one cashier on each. All that to return clothes I wasn’t allow to try and most of which didn’t it me because their sizes are not realistic. I don’t think zara is for me anymore
Super understaffed, lines are way too long for checkup. The staff are super friendly though for how frustrating and stressful it may be to be the only cashier in charge of a 30-person line
Staff are extremely slow and bad at there job. You have to wait in a 30 minute line to pay and another 20 minute to even get in the store. I defiantly do not recommend
I ordered from Zara Boston Store, paid extra money for faster delivery and signed up for shipping notifications by text. I received all the shipping status but never received the text saying it was delivered. Package was taking too long to arrive than I decided to check the tracking link directly from the deliver company than I saw It was delivered, anyways I never got the package neither the text or email saying it was delivered. I have cameras on the hallway and Nest Doorbell (front of my door) so I checked the recordings and at the day they said the package was delivered no one walked through my door, no package was delivered to me that day. I filed a complain with the agent and he said he would contact me in 48 hours, well he never did. 5 days after the first attemp to sold the problem I contacted Zara again and another agent started to take care of my case and agreed to give me a refund but he suddenly disconnected the chat, I tried again and had to start the whole conversation one more time, explain every single thing again to other agent whom was extremely rude saying he would investigate the case and return to me at least 5 business days if I’m lucky. I am so disappointed with the customer service provided that I will never bought anything from Zara again.
The store experience was terrible. The issue with a long checkout line has not been resolved for 2-3 months. Waited for at least 30-40 mins to checkout. The staff took wait too long to remove tags and scan items. The second floor checkout never opened for faster checkout. This is the worst. The store manager needs to do something about it. This is not acceptable.
This location is okay but I feel like Zara is “falling off” now. I usually can find great pieces but they don’t stand out as much to me anymore. When it comes to basics and staple pieces you can’t go wrong here and they are pretty on trend.
The store at this location is small itself, long waiting lines outside to get in and long lines inside the store to check out, clothes are scattered, rude staff: will not come again.
Its absolutely insane that my 4 item return, for which I had my receipt pulled up on my phone ahead of time, took 15 minutes to process. If there is a line for the cashier that snakes all the way to the front of the store, that is not the time to be putting the electronic sensors on return items, hanging every single strap up on new hangers and examining the items closer than a doctor would looking at a biopsy. Getting return items floor-ready should not be the priority when the line is 50 plus people deep. Read the room.
Crowded and busy lines. Get there with time.
I went to pick up an order and an item was missing from my order. The employees couldnt find the item anywhere upstairs. The manager directed me to call customer service as they could not refund me in the store since it was an online order. I called customer service and they had to escalate my case several time because they refused to refund me for the missing item after investigating. They said it was shipped from the warehouse to the store. Either an employee took it or they missed it when getting me my pick up order. I did not get a refund and had to dispute it with my bank.TL;DR employees are either stealing or incompetent.
I’m not sure how cramming everyone on one floor to pay is going to help stop the spred of covid when every floor has a register. when i first walked in and went to men’s i literally came in contact with 3 people. Now i’m surrounded by about 30 people sweating in line. In my opinion they just want to save money by not having as many employees work. This will be the last time i shop at Zara i’ve been in line for about 50 mins.
Cashier go slow on purpose. Terrible customer service
Poor service, long checkout lines. Limited choice of clothing
Beware the salesperson at the register does not wear her face mask correctly. This is a crowded store and all the customers are required to wear face masks. The staff need to comply properly. There some really good face masks that are less prone to slip off the nose.
The line was so long and they were in no way trying to speed up. They could have had more people working the register. The employees were also walking around doing nothing and not being helpful at all
Great clothing. Store AC was out while i was there.
One of the worst shopping experiences to be had in all of Boston. Dressing rooms are still closed, store is a mess, cashiers are rude beyond belief, check out line is always long and inefficient. Highly suggested ordering on line
Excellent price and stylish clothing
Very poor customer service. Given we can no longer try on clothes in store, it was difficult to get the right size and we obviously had to return a few items - under normal circumstances this would never happen I would have never bought anything that isn’t a good fit. When we wanted to return the items for the correct size, we had lost the paper receipt even though we had the credit card statement and knew exactly what day and what time we had placed the order, and of course the items were in perfect condition with all the labels on. Not only were they unable to offer ANY type of solution (apart from calling customer service, where the experience was just as bad) but on top of that they were very rude. This is the second time I have a bad Zara experience - other stores like Macy’s or Nautica have been very accommodating particularly given the current situation of not being able to try on clothes in store. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to buy clothes from here but if you do make sure you cherish that flimsy paper receipt with your dear life if you buy something here!
I have just visited this store once in the afternoon. Sadly nearly everything was sold out and the shop was in a disarray. Not a very large store. I walked in and walked out it was crowded, few options for shopping and it was not easy finding a salesperson for help!
I love Zara cloths, but this Zara on Newberry street is the WORST! Cloths thrown all over the place and a nightmare to check out. Also the escalator NEVER works. Ive lived in Boston for nearly 7 years and every time I went in this Zara the escalator AND elevator are broken. No bummer for me because fortunately I have two good legs. However for someone who doesnt, thats a deal breaker. Also the people that work here you can tell hate their job. Like dont hide it AT ALL. My advice is drive to providence mall Zara its worth the gas and miles.
I have been here several times, one time the cashiers were talking nasty things about customers out loud in front of me while i was paying. cashier never talked to me. only to her collegue about the customers. then i went back yesterday to return an item and she said i had to do it online. and there was no way of doing it in the store.. i asked her how come if i always do it in the store. and she said just go online and do it online. and when i did it online it gave me the option of doing it in the store. which would have been faster if she just did it in the store. i usually write reviews when things are great and or when service is bad. in this case... i didnt have a pleasant experience. i hate to complaint about something so small but this store needs to be checked on customer service.
Very long lines, open registers on 2nd floor!
Good store for womens clothes but the mens selection is surprisingly poor wouldnt recommend to men unless you are going with your girlfriend/wife or getting her clothes.
Zara has always new and elegant clothes.
Be prepared to wait an hour and a half just to check out!!
Terrible service, very slow. Just one cashier and huge line. They have to improve service, it is impossible to stay here forever. Ans everything is hows on at 11:45 am, imagine what will be at evening.
Such bad service ! I have been waited for 40mins for checking out, another one hour for exchange incorrect size. There is manager on the third floor, he is really attitude and not trying to help as quickly as possible! I’ve already waited one hour. How Zara can do it not professional like this?!
This store is so poorly managed. Lines are horrifically long, and the employees are slow and careless. Will not be coming back.
If you go to this store please ask for Stephanie. She was so helpful and knew exactly where everything was. when I showed her a picture from the website she knew exactly where it was and her knowledge in sizes were right on point. I bought 5 items and all 5 items fit perfectly with the first try. She was so Nice to Me and my Daughter the whole time. She knew the position I was in right when I walked into the store. Going shopping as a Dad looking for clothes for my daughter which I had no Idea where to even begin 😂. Just want to say thank you once again for the help. Will definitely be going back.
Its always so disorganized!
Zara was great they had amazing fall clothes and I was able to find the turtle necks that I wanted. There prices are not bad either.
3 floors and they are squeezing everyone in the first floor to check out. No space between others at the register. The ladies at the registers look like they hate life. The way they have the sneeze guards at the register just doesnt make sense.
Too crowded, and even longer cashier lines, walked out without purchase anything.
I totally understand how crazy it can get when it’s sale season but that not an excuse for all the mess at this place! I went to different Location during the sale and it was busy with people yet it supper organized and so easy for customers to shop. They really need to find away at this location to keep the place more organized!
Small store, limited selection here. Crowded beyond comfort. Sales rep are engaged in conversation with each other instead of providing attention to staff. Long wait for dressing rooms. Go to the Natick Mall location instead of here. Great if your a tween with friends, not great if you want to shop comfortably
Employee was rude and clothing was very mediocre
Horrible customer service. Not at all friendly. The store or Zara did not add any flexibility or considerations to the customers amid pandemic. Their only statement was - Apologies for inconvenience caused. While they are in full control of resolving the issues.
Its awesome 🥰🤩
It is way understaffed-the operation is so slow
I wish the lines were shorter, but good service overall.
Always understaffed and management no where to be found d.
Checkout line is always too too long
I love Zara, but the elevator there has not worked since I moved in Boston, it is almost 2 years already...I am a full-time mom and always shop with my child. It is super annoying every time to ask someone to help me to climb the stroller upstairs and downstairs. It is super unfair because kids section is also on the second floor......There are also two stairs inside the store on the first floor which makes shopping almost impossible for people with disability or with babies.
Loved the items and staff there
Love shopping here, totally have a blast coming here and finding the right outfit. And I always find the right deals there too.
Good quality and fair prices
They have some pretty good items here. The prices are reasonable. The staff dont talk much as you walk in. pretty much up to you to find what you want
Horrible zara ever!!!!!!!!!!!!Long lines hours of waiting and they don’t help at all!!!!
Very rude customer service, the lights in the fitting room did not work for at least two booths and upon refusing to go inside due to lack of light and not being able to see the employee seemed irritated. Another employee was rude and demanded I wait behind the rack if I was going to for a room with better lighting.
Great selection (!) but seems understaffed for a 3 storey retail store frequented by shop goers on weekend afternoons.I swear that at least a third of the patrons are there for the cool AC on a hot afternoon. Ways to make shopping experience pleasant and inadvertently prolonging shop time. Itd be nice to have additional escalators and maybe in shift in layout so the traffic moves seemlessly!
Love the store but there is one huge issue with this store. I have a child and for the most part travel with a stroller. Their elevator has been out of commission for at least a year. I understand a few months but it’s ridiculous at this point.
Good location and pretty good staff. I think women have a larger selection of clothing here than men, but its still pretty good. Overall, it feels and looks like any other Zara you might have been to.
The worst store policy and customer service.
Don’t buy online and try to return to the store .. night mare ...
Very bad shopping experience at this store. The staff there are very NOT friendly! They overcharged me and not even feel sorry about it. The manager just gave me a mean face and looked like don’t want to take responsibility to their fault. Remember double check the price and your bill when you shop at this Zara!!💸💸💸
The lines are almost extremely long on the weekends so Id say your best best is usually to go mid day if you work around the area or on a Monday or Tuesday around 6 pm.The staff is always running around and are usually helpful. Its a mixed bag because you can tell theyre frustrated too.Overall the place is clean and there definitely a wide range of new lines and sale items. The great part is you can ship your order here but the crappy part is that you have to wait in line.
Pick a really pretty pink blouse. Friendly staff and great sale.
Nice store the staff are helpful
The worst customer service I ever see. Worst experiance with them. I lost $100 for not recieved my package and they dont solve any problems. I will never chose Zara as my favorite brand name. Bye
#zara has been a clothing store that has made a big impact on Newbury Street. I mean most of us who used to be on Newbury back in the day really remember the iconic stores that literally lined Newbury. But its a different economic time. And a new type of shopper(online shopper) has arrived. Resulting in the diminishing of the classic brick and mortar clothing stores. You all have managed to stay afloat and offer incredible clothing, at a price point which is hard to come by these days. And your clothing represents the culture. This location is iconic as well. Having housed Armani, you all are in a perfect spot. And the cleanliness of your store is immaculate.
There seemed to be very few staff persons around to help me.
Super sale makes a lot of sense to the shopping. The best part is the clothing is fashionable in the season!
They got a pretty good selection of fits, but they kinda need to go on sale more often. they prices are cool, but theyre way better when the sale hits
If i could give zero stars, I would..Horrible, non existent customer service, staff not helpful, lazy, took over 15 minutes to check me out, i had 3 items and there was 1 person in front of me. Cashier checking me out was bickering with the other cashier and paying little attention to taking care of me. End result, he left not 1, but 2 magnetic scan locks on the 2 of 3 items i purchased. Of course impossible for me to take off.. this was just a few days before Christmas when I made a special trip into the city to go to Zara and 1 other store in back bay before flying out of the country for the holidays. . The 2 items were Christmas gifts which in the end I could not give to the recipients. I just called the store and after dialing the number 4 times, letting each time ring at least 10-15 times, someone finally picked up. Spoke w a supposed mgr, Isabel, who demanded the only option for me is to bring the physical receipt and items back into the store. I live 45 miles outside of Boston and not planning on traveling into the city any time soon. She did not offer any other resolution. I offered to give her whatever transaction numbers she needed off the receipt which she should be able to print out a duplicate of and view on their system. She refused, did not even attempt to offer apology or resolutio . Basically she implied that the situation I described was not possible and that the items were not scanned.. items were scanned and charged to my card. Im going to contest the charge with my credit card and have the card reclaim the money. Horrible store, no service, never going to Zara again, at least to this store which apparently has, no surprisingly, horrible yelp reviews..
Amazing clothes as always. But what a terrible store!! Elevator doesn’t work, no seat to even rest for a single minute, the cashiers are talking among themselves, taking forever while 30 people wait! Also there’s no one to help, when spending upwards of 300 dollars, you expect atleast a seat to rest your feet for a few minutes. Zara makes billions of dollars and yet cheaps out on these things. Sad!
Store didn’t seem that busy but spent most of my time here waiting in line for the dressing room and then to check out. All staff members seemed to be in a bad mood and not very helpful. Great merchandise though..
Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The sales are good but it is very hard to shop. Everything is a mess. Clothes are everywhere it legit looks like a zoo. Ended up not buying anything cause my brain couldn’t filter through the mess.
Absolutely the worst! Only one fitting room! On weekends you can’t even try on things because the line is so long . The cashier was absolutely rude, threw my clothes on the table with and didn’t even put my clothes in the bag that I requested. Awful! I’m never shopping here again and would rather order from Mango online or other stores.
The elevator didnt work and I cannot even find a seat to rest for mins. The mens clothing section has limited supply of cloths and some of them are already old fashioned.
Good selection of items but horrible customer service. be prepared to wait for a long time in line - they usually have just 1 person working the cash wrap. i witnessed a manager walkie talkie-ing employees to take their breaks while she just stood there folding a shirt over and over while watching the line get backed up with 8 shoppers and 1 girl working the register. very unprofessional.
Affordable clothes for work.
I went to visit the Zara store located on Newbury street this past Saturday September 1, 2018. I love Zara & have been a loyal customer for so long. I was walking around the store carrying at least 10 items & not one salesperson offered me a bag or to start a fitting room. There were times I was struggling to carry everything & not one salesperson helped me. The staff was rude & cold. They could care less about customers. I saw so many people asking for help & I witnessed over & over the sales staff just ignoring everyone around them. 3 floors & only the first floor was ringing in sales. Over 30 people in line & no concern what so ever for the customers. After selecting items for over an hour I left everything by the register because I refused to wait behind over 30 people.Staff in Zara Newbury Street needs a major overhaul. What happened to customer service?! A smile! Who is managing this store?? They need to be replaced.I will never go back to this location ever again. Horrible.
