With an excellent view of the commons and a varied menu for a coffee shop, this was a nice start to the day. Pastries, biscotti, oatmeal, and some breakfast sandwiches, coupled with some pretty darn good coffee. We found a small table (old newspaper embedded in the top) and enjoyed a quick breakfast. The staff here was friendly, everyone wearing a mask, quick to serve us, and got everything correct.
Crazy busy here!! 99.8 people wearing masks. Ver uncomfortable to have people talking in my face who chose not to in such a small crowded space. Staff was hustling and all wearing masks, keeping their cool despite the crowd. Food was good, coffee was fine. Gluten-free options available.
I bought a medium oat milk latte and it was the best latte Ive ever had. Besides their impressive coffee art, the latte was very creamy but not too foamy which is for me, the perfect balance for a latte. The espresso par had a strong aroma and flavor but it was not too bitter. They also offer pastries, I did not buy one but I wish I had, It looked and smelled pretty good in there. I will go back again for sure.
I was so impressed that they frothed the milk on my iced latte. One extra step to go above and beyond. Customer-friendly pricing. Wide selection of breakfast options. The egg in my breakfast sandwich was the fluffiest egg I’ve ever had in a breakfast sandwich. Plenty of seating. I would come here with my laptop if I was local.
Thinking Cup is the best. The drinks, latte art, food, ambiance… Haven’t found any place like it since moving away from Boston and across the country. Don’t ever change!
Had a good experience at Thinking cup. Friendly staff and the atmosphere is chill. Got a decaf coffee expresso and a jittery hen sandwich (which I highly recommend)Decaf expresso 4/5 - very rich and tastyJittery hen 5/5 - one of the better cafe sandwiches I have had. Very unique and tasty. It has an interesting coffee taste to it, which I liked.
The quality of the ingredients here seemed amazing, and the cozy ambience is a perfect peaceful spot for studying or catching up with a good friend. Only reason I dont give 5 stars is because the prices are little higher, which I suppose is expected of a hipster city coffeeshop. Otherwise, would absolutely come again!I got the smoked salmon lox bagel, a hot apple cider, and a slice of carrot cake I split with my friend. As you can see, it was beautiful and fresh. The bagel was also fairly exceptional, I usually dislike bagels because of all the dense ones Ive had, but this was fluffy on the inside, crispy warm outside. Apple cider was standard, but exactly what I was craving on this cold, rainy day.
My mom and I are visiting Boston and I am very disappointed in the way the girl working (oct 31 evening) treated us about our coffees. The guy who we ordered from was very polite and admitted he got the cup sizes incorrect so when we picked up our coffees we were confused. My mom asked the girl and she was extremely rude responding to us! Also, we were going to get pastries and there were gnats flying everywhere around the food inside the glass cases. Overall, the lattes tasted lovely. Thank you
Great prices, comfortable environment and awesome wait staff. Food was delicious! And very kind manager or owner. Everyone was up beat. I cant say one bad thing about this place. This is hands down my favorite breakfast place in Boston.
Latte is good. I tried the hazelnut. Very different than other shops (you can actually taste the hazelnut texture). I got the latte in hot and its not too sweet at all.No wifi here.
It was about 7am and I had to pee like you read about. After being refused by three other coffee shops, the guy here was gracious enough to let me and my son use his bathroom. Ended up buying a coffee and some waters even though I didnt want any. 10/10 would pee here and give them my service again.
My coffee lover girls were in love with the coffee experience. Wide selection of breakfast options with delicious sandwiches. Try to seat with the view of Boston Common.
Love this place yummy food n coffee is outstanding. ..was just there yesterday..lox on a bagel too too good .ice coffee hit the spot!Servers r always quick, efficient n most of all friendly . I highly recommend!
Just got a bagel from here. They gave me one tiny thing of cream cheese so we asked for extra. They charged me 1.08 for an extra tiny thing of cream cheese. Also, they cook bacon on a griddle but then microwave eggs. How does that make sense
Every time I visit this coffee shop, I will have a great time. The employees here are very friendly and accommodating. It was such a cozy shop, with plenty of comfortable seats to sit in. I couldnt have asked for better service from this establishment. This is a must-visit for any coffee enthusiast.
Great coffee. Had the medium roast drip. Just Great to drink black
This is a nice place to get a cup of coffee. This restaurant deserved more than five stars. Its a spot youll want to return to time and again. This coffee establishment has my highest recommendation.
This location, as well as the Newbury St one, were both great. Top notch coffee with baristas who know what they’re doing. The breakfast food and custom grilled cheeses are great, and the pastries are also delicious. Very fair pricing for specialty coffee.
Delicious coffee and banana bread. Cool environment
Pleasant surpriseMore than I wanted to spend but well worth it for the quality. Willing to return.
Service was slow, but the food was quite tasty! Especially the Barcelona Bliss. Finally a sandwich that met my unrealistically high expectations :) Definitely recommend this spot for breakfast.
Desserts and coffee are great. Dont get their food items like sandwiches its mediocre and disappointing.
The shop is located on a busy street. There is street parking but not too many in the area mostly garage parking. The store is small with seating for about 20 people max. The orders are delivered quickly and with great quality to the food and drinks. Once you are done with your meal you are responsible to clean up your mess and the table you choose if you decided to take your order to eat in the restaurant.
Macaroons were the best here according to my son, who sampled several places nearby. :)Breakfast is made for you and there is dine-in seating but the 5 of us found it a bit challenging as there are no tables large enough for a group that size. Most seating is setup for singles or couples. Overall a decent place to grab a quick bite to eat.
Brownie: stale.Boston cream pie tart: rubbery.Hot chocolate: hot water. (Really though, it was gross.)Atmosphere and aesthetics: nice.I cant speak to the quality of the coffee or sandwiches, but if you want anything else, go somewhere else.
Its so cute here. Food selection was great for a cofee/lunch spot. I got their ABLT (avocado blt) ans it was soooo good.. even the sourdough bread it was on! Only thing I didnt like here was that alone areas/tables were dirty and wasnt cleaned up at a timely manner after one customer finished eating, for another to start..
Its a nice cosy place.. I found it reasonable pricing .. we opted for hot chocolate which was nice on a cold breezy day outside. The restaurant staff following protocol for safety during corona times and social distancing was followed in sitting arrangement.Overall nice experience.. I would recommend a visit when going to Boston commens for a day out.
Nice place, great food and coffee. The only thing I did not like is a constant cold draft on a mild winter day. I know they have a sort of curtain at the entrance but this does not help much. I felt cold there during my half hour stay all the time. Will be going to the shop on Newbury street next time which is not that far.
Good coffee fast service and nice bakery goods
This place was fantastic. The food was phenomenal and coffee outstanding. Definitely worth a visit.
($$)- Indoor seating, limited- No wifi- GF sandwiches!!!LOVE LOVE THE THINKING CUP!!!! Their coffee is amazing and so is their food! I recommend the gluten free grilled cheese sandwich!! The people there are always friendly and the ~vibe~ of the cafe is so nice. It’s very quiet; people are there working or reading (i bring a notebook to write). Overall, a very enjoyable time!
Good pastry, awesome coffee and latte and excellent environment. Ask for the delicious salted caramel cheesecake and matcha latte! Well, only ask for a matcha latte if you are a fan... It can get really busy in some hours of the day, but the visit is worth it. Coffee, tea and food menu is better than selections of other famous Coffee houses. I completely recommend it if you want to have a little rest after walking and enjoying Boston Common.
Charming place which lives up to its reputation. The BLT sandwich was delicious. It had a nice and yet unconventional flavor. The bread, especially, was very good. Coffee was delicious. Atmosphere was quaint and memorable. The service was good and the folks we sat next to were self proclaimed Bostonian and very kind to us tourists.
You must be at the top, guys! I am one of your customers, and I am so happy and satisfied with your services. Your staves were so friendly and courteous. They were also active and fast in serving the customers orders. The ambiance is so cool and relaxing. If you are looking for a perfect place to unwind, then you can visit this shop. Thank you, guys! I highly appreciated your service!!
Some of the best coffee in Boston! Terry is a great barista 😊
Good place, very friendly, and the best cold brew.
Outstanding place for a nice breakfast from local coffee shop. Clean tables, friendly service and good food.
It was fine. Nothing special.
Food and coffee was great but they got out coffee order slightly wrong.
Quaint spot for fancy coffee or fancier desserts. Good selection of delicious cakes which are simply delicious. Tried one of their cheesecakes and it had just the right balance of sweetness and tart. Great place to bring a date after a walk in the Common. Gets busy in the evenings with people who wear fancy hats and fake glasses.
This coffee shop is always super busy but you can get Stumptown cold brew on tap so its worth the wait.
I loved this place! Great atmosphere; it’s cozy, it has nice seatings. I was daydreaming about living in Boston and coming this place every morning for a cup of coffee! I didn’t take the picture of the grilled cheese because we ate it so fast it was gone in a minute! 😅 it had havarti cheese and mushrooms in it. It was delicious! 😋 I absolutely recommend this place!
Very very good coffee.
They have great chocolate cake and great sweets.
Great breakfast menu selection including juice
Pastries were pretty sub-par and the hot chocolate was nigh undrinkable. Cant speak to the coffee or sandwiches, but it was enough that I have no plans to try them in the future.
Came in due to rave recommendations from a caffeine-addicted friend like me. I went for a simple iced coffee and a slice of key lime pie and man they both did not disappoint. I especially recommend their key lime pie (vegan and gluten-free as they claim) which is on the sour side and I absolutely love it. A bit of a bummer is that they do not have free WiFi as most other coffee shops usually provide.
I Blame my friend for getting me addicted to this place but their chocolate cake and sandwiches always hits the spot
Good coffee, cute ambiance, good sandwiches. But I payed for a lg and they gave me a medium.
Good prices. GREAT coffee!!!
Delicious everything! The English muffins are amazing.
Great selection and location. Nice place for food, pastries and coffee.
I am very picky about my coffee because Im hispanic and I make good coffee myself lol but the quality of coffee in this place is great! The place was clean and has a good look. Guy from last night (9/14/2020) was super nice and thats all you can really ask for, specially during these times.
Love it! And that they arent a chain & have interesting things no one else has, like tumeric latte, which true to its actual name, does NOT have coffee in it!! Starbucks ruins everything....
Actually open for dine in with limited tables during Covid. Very clean, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Great for an early morning respite before boarding a train at Park st.
I was surprised that they do not have WiFi, a shame really! Coffee was great though, I would suggest for a take out. Breakfast burrito was average, all I could taste was the ketchup. Blueberry muffin was underwhelming. Staff are friendly though, and there’s a lot of choice so maybe other items are more flavourful. Worth a visit for a coffee to go, do not recommend to stay in if alone, given no WiFi.
Prices are a lot $$ but quality and taste is out of charts 🥰😍
Such a great coffee shop. I meet girl friends here periodically. You cannot go wrong with a drink, a snack and conversation of those folks you don’t see enough!
This is an awesome coffee shop if you find yourself in the area. Their coffee drinks aren’t very different from any other place, but the quality of their espresso and the milks they use are great. I have never ordered savory food here but they seem to have some pretty good choices for lunch. When I’m in the mood for something sweet, I usually go for one of the spectacular almond apricot muffins. They don’t have outdoor seating, but you can take your coffee accross the street to the park.
Hot apple cider and gluten free options like a gluten free tiramisu? Yes please! It was really lovely, the folks there were pleasant, and it was a darling place to have a good chat with folks at. If its winter time and far below freezing like it was last time I went I do recommend not sitting by the door as the draft is rather strong.
Wonderful coffee and food is excellent. My personal favorite is the affogato (espresso with gelato); its such a treat! Be warned that finding a seat may be difficult; tables are small and due to its local popularity it can be packed. If youve got time to spare and need a caffeine boost (or wanna look like a local), check this place out
It did not make me a better thinker
