Once you can find the place as I was visiting from out of state, (its in the basement) it was great. But seriously, I have never been to a supermarket where they had more security dressed in black hsn actual employees dressed in red that will follow your every move. Its like big government watching u. I was in law enforcement 15 years and its obvious the amateurs with walkie talkies are following you as I looked like an outsider. Lol just really weird! And I had minimal food items in my cart, look at my cart! Milk and chilli, lol. Is that how Boston is? I guess it keeps out the homeless!
The staff was cordial when we originally entered the store, and they likewise supported us in recognizing the things we were searching for. It was all pristine and, as opposed to different pages, exceptionally modest. It is verifiably an absolute necessity attempt!
Surprisingly giant grocery store for a downtown location. Its downstairs. Full produce, meat, floral, and deli counters. Good liquor/beer/wine selection too. Not the cheapest place to do a big shop, but you can find everything on your list there. Really easy, in-store T connection too.
I had a fantastic experience in the beer/wine/alcohol section. Was searching for a nice tequila for my boss, who has particular tequila preferences, and Frank was extremely knowledgeable of the various brands in stock and helped me select a great option - my boss loved it! Truly grateful to Frank and his very helpful guidance!
Always busy! A little higher priced, maybe cause of location, not sure. Pastries look amazing but I notice everything has soybean oil in it! Yuck! I try staying away from unhealthy oils, so for now, Ill be considered a pastry window shopper til they get a healthier oil in the foods, (even hot food) uses soybean oil! Location is good though and they carry lots of stuff! Has a microwave if you need to heat something too!
Great little stop to get what you need for dinner. The meat and produce are amazing quality. If you dont feel like cooking they have already prepared meals including some hot items. Some of the prices can be high, but the quality will always be great.
Had a four pack of local craft beer along with $100 of groceries. In addition to my ID (which they reviewed) they asked my wife for her ID too, which we explained she had left in her purse at home. We had two kids with us and we are both greater than twice the required age. :) They refused to sell the beer. The manager showed no more common sense and also refused.
This market is a gem. Wonderful assortment of fresh and prepared foods. Plus its in the old Filenes building. I get a warm cozy feel from that.
Selection is sufficient. There is liquor section too. Location is perfect. Price could have been better.
Hot bar food is usually good. But half the time its unlabeled or is mislabeled, which goes against food safety rules. Considering how often I see food with common allergens mislabeled, Im surprised they havent had problems from this.Just went there and they were out of ketchup packets, which is fine. But the had an open unrefrigerated bottle of ketchup sitting on the counter next to the condiment station for people to use, which is kind of disgusting.
Its a good store at the very center of Boston. Should have literally anything you would need. Prices are a bit more compared to others..but its convenient - right on the subway.
Well laid out store. Has the feel of both a big grocery store and a smaller one at the same time. Its a great city grocery store. The check out line can be long around lunch time but other times I have breezed right through.
One of the best supermarkets in Boston. They have a great variety of things.
The sale this week was spectacular and the people who worked there quite helpful and I like to say to Michael supervisor for working with me and I appreciate it. I cooked 3 of the things and was quite pleased. Definitely going back again love location downtown Boston its easily accessible to get to unlike the other branches. The food is great and they have a variety of things and I consider it a one stop shop Business.
Worst store ever! No parking! Can’t take the carriages outside the store not even to the curb. No the prefer you lug all ur bags outside. It’s rude and this market could not be in a worst spot!!! Won’t be ever coming back here. EVER!
Very neat, very clean and they have an escalator in store! Everytime i am here i am able to find whatever it is Im looking for and more and that makes me very pleased. 😊
Didn’t know this place existed until a friend brought me inside. Such a cool place. It’s so much bigger than i expected and has a wide variety of products.
Clean well spaced store. Many prepared foods. Fast check out.
When you ask for white refrigerated anchovies and a guy in the fish dept sends you to aisle 10 frozen fish you then stumble across 2 managers and you ask for white refrigerated anchovies one says herring I say, No ANCHOVIES and leave. Now you tell me, do you really want to shop here. This location gives Roche Bros a bad name and I love Roche Bros in several other lications.
Best place in the area to buy liquor. They have an excellent selection and the prices are reasonable
Great practical location just not the cheapest grocery store in the world
Good selection of food and drinks. They offer an array of items for all pallet from Cheese and wine to ice cream and whip cream
Really clean and a lot of different items!! awesome store in general
Variety of foods. Nice market
Got pretty much all you need, line is never too long
Awesome ! Options ready to go for lunch and dinner
The best thing is, it was near the city center. I went to this grocery shop this morning and I bought some foods for my kids. They had the best homemade sausage than any other brand we had before. They have the friendliest and helpful staff, as well. They got it all here, from your household to your personal needs. AMAZING!
The market has a happy buzz, and you can sit and enjoy a drink or an ice cream - whatever you fancy - while indulging in a bit of people watching. A couple of hours should be good enough here. There are some souvenir shops there as well, with interesting, typically touristy stuff.
Good prices and product quality.
Love the fruits and local grown items they have when in season!
Nice surprise in the heart of downtown. Well stocked considering it’s relative small size.
Yummy food - cool place to get literally any food your heart desires.
Great location, got my grocery items and was in and out quick and on the subway train right down the elevator .
This is the first time I really shopped around in there they have great food!
Convience, Very knowledgeable, Polite employees.
Craig was extremely helpful once again! He went out back and grabbed fresh mint when I asked if there was any left. He also directed me to exactly where I needed to go in the store. What a great employee!
I love this store. There are so many different things to pick up & its convenient.
Clean store. Limited meat dept. Small produce section but it meets the needs of the neighborhood and the staff is friendly.
Its so nice to have a market in the downtown area. Its great that I can walk over on my lunch break and get what I need for supper.
Cant beat the location for transit access, and it has a decent selection at reasonable prices.
Had an upsetting moment, a employee mis-gendered me
It was A Beautiful Store.. Very clean . All The staff were Very Nice...
Food was fully stocked. The deli looked awesome. There is also large helpings of sushi. You can get it at the upstairs entrance or downstairs.
Am giving this establishment a rating of 3, they have some of the best produce store is always clean and organized. They are very helpful when you are in need of assistance,. The bakery is one of the best items always fresh. The meat department is especially good, butchers always there on site to help assist, and if you need anything special they are there for you.Reason for the 3 rate, they have hired an off site security company that treat people very poorly. I watched them physically account a homeless man because he felt he didnt belong in the store. Other than that it is a good store to shop at.
Nice location and easy to get and out. Well organized.
If you live in a food desert or need a small couple of things, by all means stop by here on your lunch break or on your way home. The prices are preposterous, though; what they charge is probably to cover the Downtown Crossing rent. But trust, there are so many supermarkets in this city with better prices, whether or not theres a sale. Even Whole Foods, on a non-sale day, has cheaper prices.
Go to the downstairs if you want to see more items and real grocery shopping! I alomost missed it.
Very clean and convenient location
This little gem of a grocery store and deli in the back is so awesome + amazing!! The gourmet selection of foods is incredible and the sandwiches from the deli are absolutely delicious!
This place is insanely good... Everything you want in a shopping center
I love the store great customer service and good variety of fresh healthy food.
Rich enough. Polite. Good quality fruits
This place is amazing! Ive literally never seen so many individual carrots at once. In general I would say the produce section is where this place really shines.Their meat selection is pretty light, so if youre looking for something hyper-specific there are better places to check. This place rocks though
My new favorite market, starting shopping here since i had to change my diet - my family and i can feel and taste the difference in our food now- upgrading ourselves from save alot and stop &shop - since food prices have risen - we decided to go all in. This place and location is great, fresh food and ingriedents. Im so happy to be a customer- my guts can agree!😀
The store Is losy. The Delivery Is awful. Iam.always getting someones delivery that Is not mine. They did correct the Issues about the Delivery and have Excellent Food and Customer Service
Terrific! If you are going to shop for necessary and non-essential items, no more hassle. This store has everything. Their area of parking was very open. The place wasnt that crowded because it was huge.
Not a bad place to shop. However, a lot of items are overpriced.; in particular seafood. Too bad necause we all like seafoof. The roche bros. Just seem to squeeze every nickel out of you. We dont all live in the Millennium Towers where cost is no problem. In addition, cashiers make mistakes everytime i shop there. When i did bother to bring overcharges to the mgmt. Attention, Iwas made to feel like a liar although i had my receipts. I have neverencountered such rudeness from any other supermarkets in my years.I never write reviews.
Convenient location. Prices a bit high. High quality produce. Nice selection of wine, beer and liquor, at surprisingly reasonable prices. Have your I.D. They will card you.
The merchandise is of high quality, the store is spotless, and the staff is friendly and courteous. Furthermore, the premiums are all the same. As a result, being here is now a fact!
Easily accessible by T or on foot. Prices and selection are reasonable, especially since its in the middle of the downtown Boston. Lines can be long and when they are theyll add extra cashiers. Ive never had to wait in line more than 10 minutes.
Great shopping experience best meat especially if you are lamp eater. Chicken is fresh with no odor. Professional all the way.
Not my favorite supermarket. While the products are great, the lights are very dim and there are not enough employees to whom ask a question. The prices are high and not enough local and or organic produce.
Service was good as usual.
To crowded no one wearing mask plus the line are longsomewhat like Logan AirportIf know what I mean then you have so much homeless peopleTrying to steal along heavy police presents around the area mind you south Bay is same
The location is convenient but its expensive and hard to exit if you decide to leave without buying anything.
Rude and disrespectful staff, including management and security. Better prices elsewhere, also.
It was great and organized just a little bit too expensive
Love them.
The food grab and go place was off the wall. The cash register didnt even work but downstairs in the supermarket it was incredibly good.
Market basket quality at Whole Foods prices. Also, they no longer accept returns or exchanges due to covid-19 (even though we know covid doesn’t spread through surfaces) but they are more than ok with customers AND employees walking around maskless in the store.
Security is stupid but other than that its a gud place to shop.
Busy, but everyone was maintaining their distance. Store was well stocked with all the essentials (snow coming), all registers open so the line moved quickly.
I love this little fancy market. Roche Brothers is a cute store. It like a whole food and trader joe make a baby. Alot of fresh veggies. Lets not forget therw fancy cheese, when you having a people over. Did i forget to mentioned they have alcohol. Yes alcohol lets make it a cheese and Wine day 😍😍😍😍😁😁
Roche Bros always has everything Im looking for and more!!
Best place in downtown Boston area to pickup some groceries if in the area! Great for tourists staying close by as well as local population. They have a great pastry department as well as great choice of hot and cold bar for prepared foods. Love this store. Great getting in and out as line for checkout moves extremely fast.
Its a roche bros so you know bro
Love it just wish there was a larger selection of keto friendly products
Convenient downtown place
Store is always well stocked and super clean
I mean the selection is good, but they have a habit of locking customers out before the end of their actual hours. Extraordinarily infuriating not to be able to grab a couple of essentials after a long work day.Do you close at 8 or do you close at 7:50? Because if its 7:50 please just say that on your posted hours.
In the middle of Downtown Boston, across from Macys, next-door to Primark
Security is very rude. Despite being a regular customer security follows me around the store every time I visit.
Finding what you want can be a hassle but a good store nonetheless
Main shopping area is downstairs here. Street level is where prepared foods can be purchased to eat now! Place is pricey, but about the only Super Market in the Downtown Boston area!
The staff was really helpful and it wasnt to crowed. Its average as for pricing.
Very convenient, clean, and well stocked. Cashiers are friendly. Some of the security staff arent too friendly (not mean).
Good variety of products in a large space (old Filenes Basement) in downtown crossing.Prices are a little high.
Great store! It has been so useful having this Roche Brothers in Downtown Crossing. The salad bar and hot food bar upstairs is a good option for a quick lunch out of the office, and the downstairs store has tons of grocery options. As an added bonus, you can access the store directly from the T station.
Great grocery store for a city. In many large cities it is hard to find a large full-sized grocery store with reasonable prices downtown. The store is efficiently operated in that it was very busy, but checkout was quick. The hot food in the restaurant area was great, better than I was expecting.
Definitely a limited selection of brands but still a good variety of options.
Great variety of goods... especially helpful to fill in the gaps WF, TJs, and StopandShop fall short.
Grate place no parking
Great store with awesome friendly customer service. Very convenient location!
Not worth it. Too expensive.
