What a great craft bottle and can selection.

As a theater industry-centric drink spot, Matinee is where youll find the whos who of Buffalo Arts and Entertainment. Their beer/wine-only drink offerings may leave cocktail lovers wanting, but the bar staff all have an excellent knowledge of the extensive beer list at their disposal, and can make a recommendation to suit any taste.

These gentlemen know their beer, and I know how to drink it!

This was a great find to end our evening...great decor and two fantastic engaging young men own and run this little gem.

Went here for the first time the other night to celebrate a friends birthday. We absolutely loved it. Such a cool vibe, great music, local art, and an amazing extensive beer list! The staff were friendly too! Oh, and great free popcorn 😍 Definitely will be back again soon.

The place is a little gem with a relaxed ambiance and cool patrons. They have a great canned beer selection & some really good stuff on the cellar menu (which you should ask for).. The owners Rex and Kev are awesome and are very knowledgeable with beer. 5 stars all day long

Excellent bar, super cool vibe with silent films and large craft beer selection. Plenty of space too. Marked down a few because they wouldnt serve my sister a few days after her bday, with a license and paper docs. Not sure what that was about.

Rex and Kevin are the best. Awesome atmosphere and an incredible selection. Knowledgeable guys that can tell you everything about everything they have there. Not a bad thing to say. Reasonably priced. Great chicken wing dip too! Great for a nitecap or the long haul.

I was there for the first time tonight during tje Curtin Up celebration following the opening night of the theatre season. I tried 3 new beers and overall had a great time.There also was an interesting photography exhibition hung on the walls.

The moment I walked through the doors of this place I absolutely loved it. The bar is my type of place. Has a artsy feel too it, almost as if you are in a coffee shop, except its a bar.Place has wifi and entertainment and a ton of craft beer and wine to choose from.I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. If you are at Sheas Buffalo, you need to stop before/after your show.

This place is exactly what Ive been looking for in downtown Buffalo. A wide selection of beers that are hand selected by Rex and Kevin who are very knowledgeable on their beers. I asked for an obscure beer that they didnt have and not only did they know the flavor profile but they suggested a beer that I actually enjoyed more. Very highly recommended ✌️

Matinee is the perfect little spot to relax and try some new beers. Perfect for before a show or if youre just in the area. You can have a conversation in here and not have to yell or deal with an overcrowded bar. Cant go wrong with fresh popcorn served to you and a underrated chicken wing dip app. If you like a quiet and cozy night, you wont be disappointed. Especially not with their diverse and deep beer list!

This has to be one of my new favorite places in Buffalo. Ive only been once (after months/ years of wanting to go) and Im definitely going back. SUPER-cozy atmosphere feels more like a comfy cafe or lounge that happens to also have a bar. Walls adorned with film and theater posters, leather couches, nooks and a large projection screen playing obscure films makes it more of an off-beat cinephile hangout than your typical bar. Add on the highly curated craft beer menu and performative bartenders--who may occasionally wear a wig or change costume late night--and youre in for a unique experience. The owners introduced themselves and welcomed our crew personally. Limited hours, so make the time to go.

We had a little party of about 40 people here, what an exceptional cozy, unique and inviting place. The ownership bent over backward to accomodate us and made their place an extention of our home. Exceptional selection of beers and wine and their service topped it off.
