Can be purchased in various spots around downtown for resale as they are what the people want! Very delicious recipes. The fluffy soft dough is incredible. The glazed is something beyond festival fried dough with its delicate texture and sweetness. The icing on the jelly is a perfect match in thickness for the dough in how it resists as you bite down through it; spreading its sweet flavor over the palate. The cream in the bavarian is so fluffy, aerated and light that the flavor bubbles over the tongue with each bite; with a light creamy chocolate frosting as you work your tongue through the pillowy layers. Truly a work of culinary art that has taken the concept of donuts to new heights beyond their humble beginnings and iterations. This one is boldly above the rest. I also enjoyed the apple filled, cinnamon sugar covered donut of theirs. Very well balanced and satisfying. Price is great and they do good business in providing a bakers dozen. Variety is limited though compared to every other donut providing business I can think of. Even so, they do what they do, the best.

Went for donuts this morning on a whim and was not disappointed. Got a fresh glaze donut ($1.15) and a bag of day olds ($1.50), which has 6 variety donuts in it. All the donuts were delish and the day old ones just needed a little reheat.Definitely recommend checking this place out for great glaze and simple fancy donuts.

All I will say is Paulas Donuts. Famous has no flavor; no love in the recipe, presentation or service. The glazed taste like straight sugar no cinnamon, nothing. Also, not much variety. Did I mention the young lady put all of my donuts in a paper bag mind you I had a chocolate Bavarian as one; no wax paper, nothing. They fell apart like crumbly; lets me know cheap product or lack of one...or 2. I did mention they give them in a paper bag? NEVER AGAIN ID GO TO WEGMANS FIRST.

Wow, I inhaled a glazed donut in 40 seconds. So delicious. Soft and squishy, a nice thin layer of glaze. Completely satisfying. The other donuts were yummy as well, lemon filled, apple fritter, peanut, and fruit filled. Definitely a treat! Thank you, we will be coming back for more!

I came in this morning around 10:30 sharp [Store Open] and picked up a bakers dozen, after doing some research on the best donut places during a craving. I drove fifteen minutes out of the way and past a few other donut shops, just to show how serious I was about this. If this place wasnt at least a 6/10 after this much investment Id have been kind of disappointed.The woman working was quick and patient as I fumbled my way through my choices, and I walked away with: 2 Blueberry, 2 Cherry, 2 Carrot, 2 Lemon, 2 Boston, 2 CinnRoll, 1 Jelly.Ive only tried the Lemon so far, but it was by far the best donut Ive ever had. It was flavorful & not headache inducingly sweet, unlike most donuts Ive eaten. The definition of a treat. 11/10. And as I write this over a half hour later, still no stomach ache! Nice! Thank you!!

Our Church called Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church goes here for morning donuts each Sunday of which we purchase fresh Saturday. We also get donuts for our Christmas Toy giveaway workers. I have been pleased with Famous Donuts of Buffalo for a long time. They used to be in the Central Plaza. Love their new location that has been here for some time now on Main Street at LaSalle Avenue near Minnesota Avenue. Come and enjoy some Famous Donuts. Paulas you are with great company with them. I am reminded of the Freddys Donuts of my youth. But we grow up and find other places to enjoy.

You can not say your a true Buffaloian if you have never been to famous donuts. They are as iconic to the area as Paulas donuts, and we all love Paulas. Famous donuts excels in fresh glazed donuts, especially the glazed cinnamon donuts. I do not care for the cream filled though, because you can taste the sugar crystals. Famous Donuts has been around for many years. Ive followed them each time they changed locations. I have tried Donuts from everywhere and famous Donuts have always been the best donuts. They use high-quality frostings and fillings whereas other places may have bigger Donuts but the quality of the fillings and glazes are not as good. The staff is excellent and very friendly the owner is very nice and always has a kind word to say.

Famous donuts used to be Freddies donuts back in the day. I like Paulas donuts better. Could be cause no where to park and dangerous Main St. Park on Minnesota and walk to get famous donuts.

NEVER open when its supposed to be. 630am-630pm is NOT the correct time. Ive been here 3 times and only received donuts once due to them not posting correct hours. Not to mention the donut I received was old and gummy. Never again

They are fundamentally good doughnuts, but depending on when you come in (we were there at 10:35am on a FRI), your choices may be few, indeed. (We selected from four varieties. We overhead that new batches were one hour away.)

The only real original doughnuts of Buffalo NY. Cakey, buttery, not overly sugary as Paulas its. They are a take out only place and located within the City which are probably the reasons that most people seem to prefer Paulas, but if i wanted to go buy a donut Id never go anywhere but Famous.

So heres my story. My mom sent me to buy groceries in order to make lunch and dinner. She gave me $20, and I spent $11. I was always so curious if this place was good or not, since one time we walked to Aldis, and it was Easter and we forgot. And had to walk aaaall the way back. (My mom has a knee problem and it was a blazing 85F.) So I walk into the store, and it wasnt so busy, which was perfect for me, my mother worries about me a lot so I obviously needed to hurry. I asked the employee what their recommendations was, since it was my first time there. And oh boy she does have a great taste in donuts! I took a chocolate one, and a glazed one, and I took a bite out of the glazed one, and it was heaven in a donut! And the chocolate one was amazing! I ate both and walked back home.Short Story:Would definitely recommend this place. Friendly staff and AMAZING donuts.
