I was really nervous to bring my daughter to get her eyes checked in general because she is VERY shy and doesn’t do well talking with people she don’t know. But everyone was so patient with her and super nice. We were able to get the whole exam done.
They claimed they had my glasses done on the 16th yet no call or message. They claimed they called and left a message but only once. If it was my place of business I would have made sure the client received more than one call and letter to get items, do they really understand how important sight is? I understand though its only their job the customer doesnt matter.
I appreciate how patient Tom was with my daughter as she was having a hard time figuring out which frame to go with. Also he took the time and explained in detail. His opinions were helpful and he was extremely pleasant. My daughter is very happy with her purchase today because of you Tom. Thanks.
Horrible Service!!! Product unsatisfactorily and unacceptable!Unwilling to refund for useless lenses! Pressured into up sale of lenses that are no better quality than that of the dollar store! Not a good place. I had new glasses made that were not correct. When I return to tell them I got a lot of excuses and was told I just had to get use to them. I tried but the new glasses gave me a headache. I made an appointment to get things corrected and they wanted all the billing info AGAIN! They said they need that info. The person got rather upset and rude when I said no billing for this. I asked for a refund, they said NO, it was too long...after they wasted time with excuses. Nope, not a good place I think Im just screwed
We just have a very disappointing experience with General Optical in Burton. My Mom has been going there for well over 20 years. She needed new lenses for her sunglasses and has a prescription from her ophthalmologist. She decided to get the lenses at General Optical because she has been a client for so long. My Mom is 86, has Parkinsons with some mental confusion. I was not allowed to go in with her for the original appointment. I understand COVID restrictions. The man she worked with had her sign something that she was very confused about. He did not make sure she really understood and did not talk to me. I was waiting in the parking lot. She got her lenses and they are unusable. We were told we had to go back in the office. She came out upset and did not understand, they man just kept speaking quickly and said she signed something. I think the lenses were not made correctly, but I am not sure. We will go back to the original Dr. and recheck the prescription. She paid $200 for something that is completely unusable. She was not treated with respect. I told the office of my concerns about her understanding ability every time I have called. After decades of being a loyal customer we will end our business dealings with the company. So disappointing.
I’m shocked by the bad reviews. I went here last week and thought all the staff was incredibly nice! And the price was reasonable too.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Office is a scam and does fraudulent business. Greg is lazy, rude and unprofessional and will lie right to your face. Amy is even worse! this place needs to be audited and shut down. Dont waste your time. I hate I had to give them 1 star, they dont even deserve that! I see from all the other terrible reviews, im not the only one.TERRIBLE BUSINESS AND STAFF!
Paid over $400 at your location.. Needed a screw put in. They told me appointment only. Tried calling several times couldnt get through. Went around the corner to Pearle Vision they gladly put one in for me in less than 3 minutes at no charge.
If you’re a single parent you can’t get your eyes examined during covid even though you have masks on. But it was okay I was here a few weeks ago when my child was examined. Trying to be rude was one thing, but when it comes to common sense by the receptionist when applying reason to situations forget it
Fast and efficient. Everyone has great sense of humor and always has a smile. I wouldnt change anything. The staff its awesome. Most definitely recommend.
The day I received my exam, the person fitting me for glasses was telling me that I no longer need my prisms or bifocals (lie) and placed the order without them. I waited 4 weeks just for the wrong ones to come back and get shipped right back out. It’s been 2 additional weeks and I still haven’t gotten my correct pair yet they were “rushed”???
The whole place is a scam. They ordered me the wrong colored glasses which is whatever. On top of that since I didnt reorder my contacts within 3 months of my exam ( because I did not finalize it which I was told I did not have to do because I have worn contacts for years) I now how to pay for another exam. This office is a joke. I will be going to Americas Best.
Instead of waiting an extra 3 minutes for their lunch they made me and my 3 children Made wait 30+ minutes to get his glasses. (It was only a pick up thing) Never received a phone call that they were even ready to be picked up. Very unhappy. Will no longer go there. My 5 other children will find somewhere more customer friendly !
I had no problem at all getting the information so I could order my frames online at a cheaper price. The gentleman that helped me and my family was very informative and helpful. Not only was he about saving my family money he was funny too! Very personable. We all recieved our glasses much faster then expected too! I give general optical in Burton 5 stars!
I will never go there again. They checked my eyes and we decided that I would try progressive lenses. I picked up my glasses they didn’t seem right but was told I need to adjust to progressives. After a week and a half I could not seem to adjust. They rechecked my eyes and gave me a script for single vision lenses. I picked them up wore them for a week they were horrible I couldn’t see correctly and I couldn’t drive at night. I went back they said they checked my script and it was what the doctor ordered. I argued for 1/2 hour they told me there was nothing they could do. I kept arguing until they had a different doctor re-examine my eyes she came up with a totally different script. They ordered new glasses. When I went to pick them up my chart had a note saying this is the last redo. Well it’s not my fault the hire incompetent doctors. So now I have the 3rd pair and their still wrong. So I have to wait until I can afford to go somewhere else to get correct glasses. I’ve been wearing glasses for 50 years and have never been so unhappy. NEVER GO THERE EVER!!!
I came a few months ago to get a contact exam. When I left they rescheduled me for a follow up which I showed up for but ended up having to leave after an hour without seeing the doc because they did not schedule properly. Well today I go in to get a copy of my prescription so I can order online and they told me I owe $80. $25 for missing the appointment that I showed up for and $55 because they couldn’t bill my insurance because I didn’t get my follow up. I confirmed that they had my correct phone number and not once did they call to notify me of these charges. It was their fault I was unable to see the doc and now they’re charging me for it. They are unethical, dishonest and disorganized. They will never have my business or my recommendations. DO NOT GO HERE. Go to a place where they appreciate your business and won’t scam you.
I went here with an injury to my right eye. I wound up at The Kellogg Eye Center where the biggest miracle that could have. On September 12th, I am having an intraocular lens implant in my left eye when I have been told that I would not be a candidate for the surgery. Praise God.
My experience was great. Prompt service and friendly staff. Dr. Jeffries was awesome.
My cousin went to this place to get an eye exam and also needed her PD measured so she could order her glasses online. They would not give her the measurement. I talked with the tech, Monica, and told her that we needed the measurement for online ordering and she refused, saying they could not LEGALLY give out this info. Its not an NSA secret and its not covered under a privacy law. It is simply GREED on the part of this Company. People do what they have to do to save money these day, and if that means ordering online, then so be it. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR YOUR EXAM OR YOUR GLASSES!!! The whole place is a rip off. We will never EVER go there again, and will not allow our family to go there either. I will make sure to let all my friends know as well.
I rescheduled an appointment and was charged a $25 no show fee when I arrived to the next appointment . I was told that I would be charge another $25 if I left. Ordered my glasses and was told it would be 3-6 weeks before I would receive them. I called during the 5th week to see if they had arrived, and was told that they had not. I called again the following week, just to find out that my glasses has been there for a month. Won’t be returning here ever again.
Do NOT get your eye exam here if you would like to get your PD (Pupillary Distance) to order glasses online. They refuse to give it out. There are places that do give this. They are simply not happy to have your business for the eye exam only. They want to make sure you buy your glasses here also.
The staff and doctors here are so kind, Ive been going here for years, and will continue to do so! Ive never had a bad experience.

My wife bought a pair of glass and she had them almost a year. we sent in last week to have them fix but they said they call her Monday and never did. Today she was at work and her glasses brook and she took them in to get them fix and they said that they could not help he cause her warranty expired yesterday they would not even straighten them so she could see

Went in to schedule a eye exam had a very hard time doing that a male who was very rude argued with me for 30 mins over a lie he told about my insurance not covering my eye frame and lenses one of the other workers step in to help and everything he told me was a lie will never go there again horrible service
