Not someone that usually writes bad reviews on businesses but this one really got me. I ordered a bike in august 2020 and this bike finally got here last week. The fender was completely broken and bent, the entire bike was scratched and the paint was chipped. It honestly looks like they gave me a used bike but charged me full price. I have emailed and called customer service multiple times but I have yet to receive a response. Do not order from CrimsonBikes.
Be careful. Be careful. Be careful!They make big promises before your purchase, but after they take your money, it is a different story.There is a scratch on the fender (see photo), and they told me they would order a replacement fender and call me to come in and get it replaced for free. I trusted them and took the bike home. But after a week I emailed them to ask the status of the fender replacement, they did not reply. I called them, they just asked me to leave a message and it would be forwarded it to manager. Its been 3 weeks and I emailed them again to get an update with no reply at all.I dont know if I will ever receive the promised replacement. But I want to warm everyone to be careful when you buy a bike from here. Dont believe everything they say.I will update this review if things change.
Rude and impatient. I tried 2 bikes and then they suggested one more higher price bike for me to try. I liked it, but it’s a bit over my budge. I told the owner that I loved it but needed time to think because of my budget. He gave me a weird look and said “How long do you need to think? Our price is fair.” I said until I feel comfortable. He didn’t look at me again after. The only good thing about this place is they have a sweet dog and they have a parking lot to try the bike. I won’t get anything from this bike shop, because of the owner’s rude attitude.
Dropped by to get my bike assessed and fix alignment. They were busy but happy to take a look during the week which was fine with me. They emailed me after the assessment before doing more work. My partner got his tires replaced here too and was happy with the price

They were really helpful on the phone with picking out a bike that would work for my size and the kind of trails I ride on and exceptionally pleased how quickly my bike got here (5 days from MA to GA). Unfortunately the derailer was bent in transit but they were equally quick replacing the part and I absolutely love my new ride! Would definitely recommend Crimson Bikes.
We had two bikes that hadnt been ridden in years and needed significant tune ups. Crimson showed up right on time and did a fantastic job. Both bikes ride even better than before! Highly recommend - great service at reasonable price.

My team over at the Boston Converse Headquarters office came across this bike shop in our research online and after looking through their inventory online for a few days straight we came to the decision to order 6 new bikes for our office. Excelent and very friendly service. I had a flat tire which actually required full replacement. They replaced the tire fast, in less than half hour as promised. The price was very reasonable.Strongly recommend store!
Due to the pandemic and the closing of gyms in NYC, I ventured out to get an affordable bike for physical activity. Through a google search I found Crimson Bikes. I ordered the bike I wanted online during the summer, however it was on back order due to nationwide bike shortages and supplier issues because of covid. I would check back every so often via the website for updates. Fast forward to November, I reached out to the company directly via email to get some options. They were extremely responsive and provided me with three viable options. I was able to exchange the original bike I ordered for a different model. The bike shipped and I received it in a couple of days although I live in a NY and they are based in MA! I was very happy for that. They even offered free shipping! I’m very pleased with my purchase and experience with Crimson Bikes.Side note: I see the other negative reviews but the back order is not exclusive to a crimson. The entire country had been experiencing a bicycle shortage. It’s a pandemic and the country shut down for months! So it’s not their fault. Give them a break!
We ordered a bike during pandemic, July 2020. We were informed it would be several months before we received the bike which was completely fine. The staff were in communication, and when it was determined the date was still unknown for the bike (made in Japan) they offered to provide us with a bike and an additional $100 on what I spent.I’m only rating four stars as I had to reach out for feedback, but once I did they were SUPER quick in getting back to me. I will purchase from them again.
CrimsonBikes is just past my halfway-to-work-point of my ride and, luckily, was within 10min walking distance of where I got my last flat! Wanted a second opinion since I had very recently changed a flat on my own and wanted to make sure there wasnt glass etc on the wheel. The staff was speedy and respectful and patient with my questions. Wheels are still holding up. Purchased a new air pump there too but luckily havent had to use it yet! Haha. Thanks guys
My bikes brakes were making a very loud screeching noise for a while. I tried to self repair, which didnt work, so I took it over to CrimsonBikes. The wait time was very long ~7 days. I would have ideally liked to get it sooner, but it wasnt too bad. Giving 4 stars for the long wait time only, not for the service.The service was great and they repaired my bikes brakes (both front and back) really well, costed $20. They are very transparent about what they are charging for each service, which is really good.
Its amazing how patient, kind, and helpful all the staff are at CrimsonBikes. I just ordered two Fuji Touring Disc bikes from them. Being a bike touring novice, I had so many questions. Kid you not, Charles, Tammy, and Eric answered my questions for over an hour! I will for sure come back and visit quite often. Love the friendly customer experience and their EXPERT knowledge!
I had a great experience at Crimson Bikes. I brought my bike in for a tune-up and I’m very happy with the results - my bike is working great and they turned around the work in a quicker timeframe than estimated. They were also helpful in answering my questions about the work being done on my bike. I will definitely bring my bike here again.

Favorite bike shop in Boston! I started going to Crimson a few years ago- Im a 4 season cyclist and have shopped at just about every shop in the Boston area and Crimson is the only shop Ive ever felt truly comfortable, welcome, and included (and its now the only bike shop I go to). Being a female cyclist there is a common feeling of being discounted/ dismissed in a white-male-dominated cycling community, and its something that frustrated me a lot in Boston over the last 7 years. Crimson feels like a community that I never have to fight for footing in, and I appreciate that on so many levels.I bought my last bike from them and still go in for regular tune-ups, gear, etc. The owners are really great, the mechanics are super nice and knowledgeable and- big bonus- theres occasionally a guest appearance by Frankie the dog!! I would recommend them to everyone and anyone.

I just started using my first bike and ran into an issue filling the tire. I stopped by Crimson Bikes and they got me in and out within 20 minutes, for a low price, and explained to me in simple terms what had happened! So helpful and kind.
Do not buy anything online. If they are out of stock they will take the money and it will take months of calling before you reach anyone. Then they will give you so much workaround about getting your refund that it just isnt worth the hassle.Just avoid this place at all cost

I ordered a bike over a year ago online. Never received the bike or a refund. I was told to contact my bank for a refund and they were unable to. Then I was told I would be sent an E check…i waited. Then I was told it would be sent 10 to 15 days. It’s been over a month! Now I’m being told to wait longer. I will be starting a Facebook group dedicated to the people that have been screwed by this company, and believe me, there has been a lot!-Robert
I needed a last minute adjustment to my bike before an event. I called several shops to see if they would be able to do a quick repair. Of those I called, Crimson Bikes staff were the only ones who were polite on the phone, letting me know that they may not have time to do the repair but would try. The tone of voice and treatment on the phone led to my decision to take a chance on Crimson. When I arrived, they were professional and kind and able to make the adjustment to my bike quickly. They even took the time to give my bike a through once over, ensuring that my brakes were working and gears were shifting well. I will most definitely return to Crimson Bikes for future biking needs.
The service was a lot quicker than I expected after waiting in line for a few minutes. They were efficient in making an appointment to tune up my bike and I got it back in the time frame they promised. Friendly staff too

Ordered a Fuji Declaration and received timely updates. I opted to change from delivery to in-store pickup with only a quick email. In-store pickup was an easy process. I was assisted by Daisy over the phone who was very kind and the bike was delivered to me curbside by the gentleman who assembled the bike. (I did not catch his name!) Everyone was so great and professional. I will be back to pick up a bike for my wife and daughter in the summer!
Customer service representative was very helpful and forthcoming about bike frame size and proper fit. Unfortunately, the bike I wanted wasn’t available in my correct size. But I am very happy that CrimsonBike rep was honest and advised against purchasing the size I was considering. It was not going to be a good buy in the long run.
We had a good experience purchasing a bike here recently. Great service by knowledgeable staff members. Good safety protocols were in place during the pandemic. A bit of a longer than expected wait in line outdoors...recommend/suggest separate lines for order pickups from new customers to expedite service further. Good job overall!
Crimson is one of the most conscientious bike shops around. They have super helpful staff, reasonably priced repairs, and a great selection of regular and ebikes. And, Crimson does great work for local nonprofits. They’re good people.
Came in with two bikes that hadnt been serviced in a while, one of which also had a rear wheel stolen. Crimson Bikes replaced the missing wheel, serviced both bikes, and did so in a matter of days even though pandemic parts shortages, and long lines worked against them and me. The best piece of this was when they called me to say that they think I dont need the fancy tune up I already asked for and was willing to pay for, and could do with one thats a fraction of the cost. Decent, good, quick, and efficient.
Excellent service! Went in to get a mountain bike tuned-up after assembly, and they really got it up-to-snuff in a hurry. Prices were also pretty reasonable, and Im very happy with how the results ride.
My time there was great! Everyone was so nice. I’ll have to take away a star though because the wait for the bike was longer than expected, and the lock sort of broke down after 2 uses.
I dropped off my bike the other day to get a tube and a chain replaced. I was told the service will take 30 min. My husband and I ended up waiting for 1.5 hrs. Everything was fixed but overall the service ended up being almost $100 since the bike required splicing two chains. I was happy with the repair otherwise.
The worst company I have worked with in forever. Ordered a bike in June 2020 to be delivered in October. October comes - nothing. November - nothing. Being told due to bike shortage. Okay, I get it. Finally January 2021 I ask or a refund and told will process in XXX days. Those days pass, nothing. More follow up - a few more days nothing. All because their CC processor lost their credit card info. BS. They see receipt, they see money paid, I show them bank - tell them just send a manual check. They agree but XXX days later - nothing. More excuses. Then they stop answering. Ultimately I lost more than $1000. Clearly this was a big issue with many others reporting the same. So I filed reports with every gov agency and now I will be talking about what type of legal remedies there are for everyone affected (class action). Do not buy from this awful company.

I love CrimsonBikes! First- the staff are all super knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Second, their location is incredibly convenient via public transport. Third, they are great at what they do!I needed a flat fixed on my bike and they were able to accommodate me quickly and got it done under 15 minutes. I also left a bike with them to give me an estimate on fixing some issues (e.g., rusty chain, pedals falling apart, handle bars being a mess) and when I went to pick it up they explained why they gave me the estimate that they did, and did not pressure me at all to go through with it! I definitely recommend CrimsonBikes to all my friends!
Charles was super helpful in finding a bike for my needs. When they needed to troubleshoot installing a fender they stayed after closing to make sure it was installed correctly and I could have it that day. Would definitely recommend.

I went here for the first time in the Spring of 2021 and brought two bikes in for repair, one after the other. I was very happy with every interaction, I felt like I got a fair price, and was not judged for the state of my commuter bike that got more than a little rusty over the winter. They were super friendly. I was warned by the staff that they were super busy and still got my bike back faster than I expected, maybe 1/2 week. Im decent with mechanical stuff but dont know the names of different bike parts. That said, the staff understood what I was asking, had helpful suggestions, and didnt give me any grief for my lack of bike vocabulary. I will happily be going here for years to come and would definitely recommend them to friends, coworkers, and strangers. :)
I had the pleasure of using Crimson Bikes remote service for the tune up of my Ride1 Up 700XR electric bike. The rep was ontime and did a great job. He answered all my questions and left the bike in fantastic shape.
I found Crimson Bikes purely by accident! I wanted to buy a mountain bike to get in shape, saw Crimson Bikes, I like e-commerce companies so I thought Id give it a shot. Ordering was quick, COVID had to show up. Delayed the original bike for over a year. Couldve cancelled, but I didnt because I wanted to support them. They found me a replacement, I selected it, they sent it, FedEx lost it, they sent a replacement which I received last week. Love the bike, and I would buy from Crimson Bikes again (in spite of being a Yankees fan)!
I BOUGHT A 850 BENOTTO ON jUNE THE 6TH AND HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR HUB [BEARINGS WERE SEIZED],REAR TIRE HAD THREE FLATS[ SPOKE WAS PUTTING A HOLE IN TWO NEW TUBES] AND THE DISC BRAKES HAD TO BE COMPLETELY ADJUSTED
First let me say that customer service was better about a year after my order. I know the whole bike shortage has affected the entire industry. Updates could have come at regular intervals but didnt. However after close to a year, they made concessions on another bike model as it still seemed the bike I ordered was another decade away from being delivered. With that said, they were quite fair in the swap for another model and that bike was shipped quickly. In doing so, they turned my review from a 1 to a 4. Thank you.
Honest and direct customer service. Helpful and informative. We had a few hiccups along the way with suppliers and shippers but they were deftly navigated by the CrimsonBikes team and I have a great bike.

ALMOST 1 YEAR SINCE PLACED ORDERIt has almost been 1 year since I placed an order for a Fuji mountain bike. Placed the order in August 2020 and it is July 2021 while writing this. I was told that the bike would be delivered in one month originally but the pandemic caused disruptions, which is understandable. No one can plan for a pandemic.Was subsequently told that the bike would be available spring 2021. Waited patiently until February/March 2021 and asked what the status update was on the bike. Was then told that the bike would most likely be delivered April 2021.Well, May 2021 rolled around and still no bike. Finally got tired of waiting and asked for a refund. Was told that they dont keep records that far back and will not be able to refund the money to my credit card. Was told that they would cut a check for the refund.It is now July, and still no refund. This is kinda getting ridiculous..........
Never buy a bike from this place. I bought a bike here and every time I go out in it something breaks…..the first time the pedal came off. Then the derailer broke, had to buy a new one. And now the pedal and break broke. Literally threw the bike in the garbage can after using it 3 times. Never again.
Awesome service in an unfortunately poor shopping experience. Pandemic-related product shortage was a major issue and was the story of my order. We ordered from Crimson because it appeared you were one of the few vendors who had bikes on stock in April-May 2020. Unfortunately - we waited 13 months to get an alternative bicycle to the one my daughter originally ordered. However - this is not a complaint review. Throughout the delays during this time period, the CrimsonBikes staff was outstanding to work with. While the overall experience for my daughter was frustrating, we understood this was not CrimsonBikes fault, and that was a good lesson for my teenager. Your service personnel were awesome to work with. They provided details of the delay, an apology for something completely out of their control, and alternative options to assist us with our order. This business is deleting comments made by unhappy customers on their social media accounts. They have failed to send bikes to customers that have paid HUNDREDS of dollars to get them. Do not give this business your hard earned money because they will steal it and then silence you.
My bike was suppose to be shipped to a bike store for assembly. However it came to my home. I was given a name of a bike shop to assemble it. I had to wait two weeks for them to do it. Though I then got a message that a part came in broken . I was out of town so I just told them to order the part and get it put together. I can’t tell you yet how the bike is because I haven’t picked it up yet.
Spent $400 back in June. Never shipped my bike. Been trying to get my money back since January of 2021. They blame other issues, promise e-checks that don’t come, don’t call you back or respond to emails. It’s been over a year now, no refund and no bike. Awful company, awful customer service. Go elsewhere and never give them your money.

Nice bike shop, but took over a year to get a bike. Originally I ordered a FUJI, but they were so backordered I ended up having to pick another bike (and paying $150 more). Not really their fault I suppose. I was disappointed they wouldnt give me a discount at all on the new bike though. But they threw in free accessories.
I was actually scared to order this bike online, I called them and also called from my local bike shop to verify them. They were kind and professional over the phone and through email. The bike came very well packaged and safe. Great price and free shipping. The best and smoothest transaction on a online bike sale. I have ordered many bikes online. These guys are great. I bought a bike in June 2020 and didnt hear back on my order for a long time. I made many calls to their office, but they couldnt provide any information as to what was the status of my order. I was told that my bike was delayed due to unavailable Shimano parts. Four months later they offered me to go in store and choose from the available bikes or keep waiting for my bike to arrive at some point. I was eager to get the bike I chose so I decided to wait. I kept waiting without any news until end of January 2021. I finally decided to emailed the store and find out when to expect my order. They emailed me back in a day or so and gave me 3 different choices. I chose to buy from the bikes available online with very good benefits in return. I received my bike in less than 2 weeks since my email. I was upset in the beginning, but over all I got a beautiful new bike and great refund in accessories. I am extremely happy with the way they resolved the issue. Thank you CrimsonBikes!
I had an awesome experience with CrimsonBikes.. sales and customer service did a bang up job with my order.. I had originally ordered a mountain bike, but I was in back order. I mean back order so I asked if it was possible to change my order to a road bike and I was told, “ yeah, it a problem “ so I was issued a credit and I applied the code I was given for the refund and I picked the bike I wanted that was in stock and within a week or two my bike arrived.. and I’m so happy with the bike and my experience with CrimsonBikes.. I’ll definitely buy from them again.. oh btw, I have.. I’m new order was just shipped and I’m anxiously waiting for it to arrive.. I have my eye on another bike from CrimsonBikes and Plan on buying it.Great job guys!!!

Crimson Bikes has a mobile repair service! When I got into a car accident, they picked up my bike at no cost and did a crash evaluation. They communicated promptly what would be done, and long it would take. The bike was ready in two days. Highly recommend!
Although it took a while to receive my bike (due to shortage all over the country) Crimson Bikes was very communicative with the process and explain my options. Once the bike I wanted was available, receiving my bike went smoothly. Only bad thing was that no intructions were included so I had to spend extra money taking it to a near-by bike shop and make sure I put it together correctly.
My bike needed a tuneup and some tire work (after a long year in 2020!). The service was very friendly and professional and the work was completed sooner than expected. My bike is better than ever now.
I spent a couple of very important hours at Crimson on Mass. Ave., in Cambridge, learning about the endless variety of modern bikes. They had the bike I was most seriously considering at that point ready to go for my test ride when I arrived. The personnel were patient, friendly, non-pressuring and informative. The welcomed as long a test ride as I needed. Their customer service in talking to me before my visit to the store was quick, helpful and friendly.

Ordered a bike that WAS NOT LISTED AS PREORDER on August 2nd 2020, its September 11th 2021 and not only have I not heard ANYTHING about my order actually intending to be sent, I have discovered that they have gone bankrupt, and have no real intention of ever sending my order. I now have to go through filing a dispute with my bank, which is in no way an equal repayment for being lied to.

I bought a new road bike 3 weeks ago at Crimson Bikes. The buying experience was positive, though be prepared to pay the full retail price for a bike in this environment where good bikes are hard to come by. I had to revisit the shop to get my bikes derailleur adjusted. I was also interested in purchasing a better seat and a set of new clipless pedals, as mine are worn out. I needed to understand the tech specs of some of the products they sell. However I got no help by the person manning the front of their shop. On the other hand the technician who adjusted my derailleur was very good. She took the trouble of meeting me, discussing my needs and offered some very helpful suggestions. I do like the COVID protocol they follow of restricting the number of customers in their shop.
The store staff are incredibly kind and helpful. However my experience with the service department was more mixed. Their pricing is higher than other local bike shops, and they tried to upsell me on other expensive services after I asked to have one specific problem fixed. In the end my issue was resolved and I got my bike back after about a week. I would recommend them as a location to buy bikes and accessories, but look elsewhere for for better priced service options.
I have used Crimson Bikes a few times for parts etc, and once for a repair, over all my experience has been great, only once this was not the case, and I was dealing with a very condescending young man over a repair and in then end I did the repair myself.Would I use them again, yes I would for sure, I have seen them dealing with other customers and they have been great, so I put my experience down to getting out the wrong side of the bed or no coffee.Good Bike Shop
My total experience with Crimson bikes was online. Loved the ease of use on their website. Was very easy to find what I was looking for. The only issue was that the bikes shown for sale were out of stock so I really couldn’t get a bike that I wanted. Hopefully they will get more bikes to sale.
I love that this store is a minority owned business and the people who work there look like me. No more bougie sales people selling you high end bikes. The staff here are educated and know their stuff so it’s super helpful to get you on your way! Prices are fair as well!
Wife and I went to purchase 2 bikes as ours were stolen. Although they didnt have the Raleigh I wanted due to low supply/covid, we were able to purchase 2 Fuji bikes that we love. The staff was patient and knowledgeable. They asked questions in order to determine the best bikes for what we were looking to do with the bikes. They even offered delivery. Black owned business was a plus.
I was happy to come across CrimsonBikes on my Google searches for just the right long sleeved jersey-jacket to wear on cool Northern California rides. They had a great selection and had some sizes and colors that were out of stock on other sites. I bought a beautiful teal colored Pearl Izumi jersey that arrived in two days. Exceeded my expectations and I love what I bought!
Crimson Bike is one of the Few places I would visit and buy a bike. They are very prompt in responding to any of your queries even on emails or phone calls. The Crimson Bikes Website has all the bikes available starting from Beach Bikes to Performance Bikes. The stock is always up to date. They even ship the bike free across USA for free. Helpful staff but a bit pricey
Great shop! I bought my first road bike here a couple months ago and had an awesome experience all around. The staff were knowledgeable, there were wonderful dogs there, and I was encouraged to test ride the bike before I took it home (free tune-ups for life cant hurt either!). Would definitely recommend!

Purchased a 24” bike for my kid. The bike quality is decent. The gear indexing is off such that the chain doesn’t reach the largest back gear at the small front chain ring. I had to watch YouTube video to figure out how to fix it.But overall, good price for the bike.
Great service, had some issues on my old bike which they fixed while I waited and with minimum labor costs. Would definitely go back again.

Not great. Does not take your repair needs seriously and returned my bike in a worse state than I gave it to them.
I ordered a bike and it arrived pretty quickly, however when it arrived it came damaged. One of the brake levers was broken, when I emailed them to inform them of the damage the only response I got was that theyd send a new set of levers. No instructions on how to install them, no offer to pay for the repair. I emailed again asking if they would pay for it to be repaired at a bike shop, and I still havent gotten an answer despite a few weeks passing. Its honestly really frustrating.It was supposed to be signed for when it was delivered but no signature was asked for. I didnt even know it had been delivered until I got an email notification that it was outside. The box was pretty badly damaged so Im going to assume that whoever delivered it just didnt want to have to deal with explaining the damaged box. The bike cost nearly $500.00 and its beautiful. But absolutely useless since I have no working brakes on it. Even the front brakes, which as far as I can tell are connected just fine, dont actually work for some reason. So I guess I just bought a very expensive coat rack.
