Always friendly staff and usually not too busy

I’ve never seen a “customer service” establishment, where management turns a blind eye to employees blatantly being under the influence while working a shift, as much as I’ve seen at this location. I’m not sure if this is because they’re so desperate to keep people, that they allow such behavior, or if they just don’t care what image it leaves to the consumer. Not to mention the safety risks... However, the upper management should pay a little more attention to what is happening on the sales floor while they’re up in their office. Considering it’s been brought up to the “department” manager, and they’ve allowed it to continue.

This location is okay. Its always well organized and clean. Many of the staff members have been there for some time. They are pretty decent customer service oriented employees. Theyre efficient and helpful when needed. This location noticeably runs low or out of sale items pretty much every single week. Sometimes early in the week. The bathrooms at this location are usually clean but have always had a ad smell to them. To the point where I hold my breath or cover my face. Ive mentioned on several occasions via the online survey mentioned on the store receipts. Its never improved and seemingly been unaddressed. Their beer prices are always a little more expensive than other retailers in the area.

Very affordable and truly is a friendly place.

They always have high prices for everything. They say buy one get two free, or buy 2 get 3 free but do you really look at the price youre paying double for everything so youre really not saving. And I feel their vegetables never stay fresh very long. I just dont get how they stay open.

This is a great grocery store. They have an excellent variety, including International Foods. Fresh produce and meats. You can even grab a cup of coffee. It is handicap-accessible, and the staff is super accommodating. If you cant find something, they will actually walking to the product instead of just pointing and telling you an aisle number. It is genuinely one of the better Tops Markets in the area.

The meat department in Canandaigua has been stellar cutting up meat for beef jerky and for every other need that my family and I have had. Everyone from the initial person taking my phone call to the meat cutters have been very courteous and professional each and every time. They go above and beyond for every need. We have always been treated very well from all the employees at the Canandaigua store. That is the reason why we stay loyal to this store. We sincerely appreciate the great customer service. Keep up the great work everyone!

I love shopping at TopsThe employees are always there to help you and very kind and considerateThe prices are always reasonable and affordable and if youre on a fixed budget it really helps. I am very sad to hear Tops maybe closing there doors which will leave me or should I say force me to shop at Wegmans Im not a fan of. So before you close the door please consider all the people who will loose out

I think they have artificially high prices to make their sales look better still some really good deals. There are really good deals on some things clothing stuff that usually never goes on sale. To shop there you must really have their bonus card

Our experience with self-scanning tonight would have been a nightmare without an employee named Justin who has to work until 7 a.m. and was patient, kind and had a great personality! Our experience could have been were leaving, this scanning thing is ridiculous if it wasnt for Justin and his patients we would have walked out! So.... as Im known to say whats on my mind I do believe that Justin sincerely deserves a raise of some sort. My five star rating is because of Justin

Some of their prices are good while others were outrageous. The produce selection was hit or miss. Overall, the store needs a good scrubbing because it has a generally unclean look to it. Dingy floors and dusty items on some shelves

Had to use the bathroom. Finally found it after I asked three times. But it was clean. Customer service could use a tune up but over all not bad.

Smells funny. Not very clean. Good selection of name brands but high prices. Good baked goods.

Only go there if you have to.

They are kicking people out of the store for not wearing a mask even though they have a medical reason and are maintaining social distancing guidelines. Way to go Tops. You just lost our business.

Has groceries. Can get busy. Usually dont have more than 2 registers open at a time. Dont care if there employees quit there jobs. If you get a job at Tops, hourly employees are in a Union after one year of service, so you can get good benefits and cheap insurance, but expect around minimum wage.

Nice supermarket, offer great salad buffet at lunch and all your grocery needs. Open 24/7 which is always a plus. Nice little bakery, but less options than the Tops in Farmington.

Love their produce and the fact that I know where to find everything.

The Canandaigua store is convenient to the airport, but I still prefer wegmans when Im on the other side of the city or at home.

There are some sweet people that work here. Always a great experience at this particular TOPS.

OK products and bakery. Ridiculously priced for this area of the city. Almost $3 more for a generic shampoo vs. leading Big stores..I personally never shop here.

The Canandaigua Tops is Very nice.I enjoyed the large selection of All products, produce,etc... The staff are very friendly. 👍👍

It had exactly what I was looking for and the price was good.

My visit today was rediculose. Shopping was fine but check out was less than enjoyable. Not enough check out personnel and only one person with a key to help cashiers with various key codes and problems. My cashier was very slow as it was and was ready to shut down to go home. I understand that she needs to go home and has good reasons. That is not my concern. My concern is that I have a friend that was supposed to have been hired but has not had her orientation nor put on the schedule . They need cashiers and they drag their feet getting reliable people trained. Im not happy!!!

Tops is a great way to save on your shopping. Free to get the bonus card and I strongly suggest you do.

A big store. You have to check the expiration dates. They dont seem to rotate their stock.

The Tops store I go to on Rd. 332 is clean, very friendly & helpful staff, especially Gerogi & Alex very courteous & polite everyone I go there which is 3-4 times a wk & sometimes twice in a day. Thank you Tops & Love your Seafood Dept. .

I count on the Geneva store to carry the brands I love. I will DEFINITELY miss you Tops!!

Bought some apples a week ago and when I went to get one they were not in my fridge then realized I must have left them in my basket or in the checkout. I had my receipt with the purchase on it and went up to tell the girl at customer service I didn’t get them. She said she has to call someone which I assumed was a manager. The girl came over and I explained it to her and she said she would be right back. So I waited while she changed some receipt paper out for a cashier then came over with a book and looked up the date I bought them and apparently in the book are things that are left. She tells me that only mandarin oranges was the only item on that date in the book. I told her again that I did not get them and she looked at the other girl and said I guess we can call so and so (don’t remember the name) to see what we can do. At this point I was frustrated and could not believe what I was hearing so I said just forget it I am not going to argue over a $5.00 bag of apples! They call themselves Topps Friendly Market?? I come from the south and if I walked into Public’s (best supermarket ever) with or without a receipt they would say go and get another bag no questions asked!! They might not have all the frills like Wegmans but they teach their employees a class on superior customer service!! If they don’t pass the class they don’t go on the floor. Supermarkets up here should take a lesson from them and maybe they might have more business. Public’s supermarket is a pleasure to shop in!!Disappointed Unhappy customer with experience!!!!!

Some really good sales, just watch what youre paying per item, some of the buy some get some free end up still higher than Walmart prices.

I spent eighteen minutes inline to checkout . At the time two regesters were staffed, twenty people wating to checkout. Im not pleased.

Mostly good have shoppe here for years but since mid summer have found the meat dept lacking in high end cuts lots of Chuck but no t bone or strip steaks to speak of something has changed spoke to a manager to no avail may have to start going to Wal-Mart or wegmans for meat

Make shopping trip was fine, but as is typical on a Sunday pricing wasnt up to date. Thomass English muffins were BOGO and it took the wrong amount off. The cashier corrected my bill but thats not the point. All pricimg issues should be fixed before the crowds get there Sunday morning. Thank you

Place is not bad, the problem is they only have one or two checkout cashiers & it takes forever to cash out. I dont like the self checkouts they have as for some reason they never seem to work right.

You can find a good deal on meats, most common brands of grocery and the prices are reasonable

I am a Wegmans shopper all the way! Tops is very expensive! They do have great product in the store is very clean but the prices are crazy

The Olive and Condiment Bar Across from the Deli, Had Rotten Moldy Feta Cheese in The Antipasto Salad, The Green Pitted Olives Were So Old and Dry That They Had Shriveled and Started Molding, The Brushetta Was Already Way Past Its Date As It Had Not Only Lost Its Color But It to Had Cloudy Moldy Juices It Was Floating In. Also After Walking Around Checking Out Some of the Meats I Noticed That the 5 for 5s Were Out Dated, The Cheeses Were Moldy Edged in the Cooler Area, Floors and Edges of Some Shelves Were Filthy Look Like Who Ever Cleaned Tried to Hide the Filth. The Bakery Goodies Were All Unpleasant Looking and Old. And The Girl That Was at The Checkout Had A Very Poor Attitude. I Was Not Happy at All When Visiting Tops Today with My Family from Out of Town.

Idk.. this store is just a puzzle. They say buy 2 get 3 free...but they then double the base price of products. You dont actually save anything. The prices are way higher normally on everything...and produce is kinda sad. IIts the closest store to me..but I will drive to the other side of town...in a snow storm.. rather than shop here.

A little on the pricy side, but convenient to where I live. Also, the staffing should take the customer service classes Wegmans offers. Its just not the same. Observe the staff when you are in. They behave negatively and act as though customers are inconvenient.

I mainly go here for lunch & use the Carryout Cafe. Lately the choices are slim because things are never put out in a timely fashion. One of the girls working behind the counter will flat out ignore customers.

Last shopping trip store employee who were stocking in freezer section was very helpful and even asked me if I needed help. There were a couple other employees that were also asking if I need help. I was suprised bc usually no employees even look at you afraid you may need their help!

The employees are very helpful, but the store smells horrible and the prices are a nightmare. Right now they have buy 2 get 2 on 12 pk cokes at $14.98, at Wegmans they are 4/$11. Tops is always a last resort for me.

Way too expensive. Everything they have is at Walmart for usually $2 cheaper. They do have a great selection of chips and beer though.

Wasnt the greatest experience, was looking for a bite to eat around 2:00pm. Asked for three slices of cheese pizza for my kids and self, the deli workers didnt feel like they should make a chesse pizza.

Tops is overall, pretty terrible. Their deals are never as good as they seem because they raise their prices before doing a BOGO sale. They fruit in the produce section is always bruised or moldy. They have a poor selection in the medicine aisle. They never have enough checkout registers open - prepare to wait.Only reason I ever come here is the deli counter has a few good employees who are willing to slice very thin and they have a better cold cut selection than other grocery stores. Other than the deli counter - your better off at Wegmans, Walmart or maybe even Aldi (if youre willing to sacrifice quality for price).

Negative vibe people making comments due to gossip from others unknown unfo and judgemental people young millennials laughing at you and making you feel discouraged to ever go there I will never shop at tops again and will ask veterans of the military services for not support a place that makes you feel less than when they dont know we already go that we go through that internally

Not a huge fan of the franchise itself but if I decide to visit a Tops, I much prefer this location. Clean, professional, and always pretty stocked.

Its clean, its friendly, and it has donuts! Though by 10am the donuts are pretty well picked over, so go early!

You can usually find good deals on meat, but most of their deals are deceptive. They raise their prices to offer buy two get three free deals that in reality only save you a few cents, if anything.

Its a Tops so no 5 stars (sorry but prices are always higher here). But 4 stars because of the large selection of items its a bigger one. Kinda located further away from canandaigua though.

I will be honest...I feel tops is a bit pricey.

Cant compare to Wegmans, but can get groceries much more quickly as the place is rarely crowded.
