Adorable Gelato and gift shop in Carlsbad Village Shops. We also continued our week long Macaron taste-testing adventure, and the ones sold here, imported from a little shop in Beverly Hills, were both yummy and beautiful to look at it. They had the biggest selection of flavors to pick from that we had seen all week. Everyone in our party who ordered Gelato said it was delicious, and I would definitely visit again for a chance at their Macarons. Bonus! They make custom cakes too🎂🍨

Gelato was delicious. Would have loved some other flavors that pop. Macaroons were delicious. Wasn’t a fan of the cookies tho. Very clean shop with a very cute setup. Staff was friendly and moved thru the line quickly.

Weve visited Carlsbad twice and both times we came here almost every day. Our son loves playing in the kids area by the fountain and this place is just too good to pass up. Cant go wrong with any of the flavors.

Fresh, high-quality gelato that tastes delicious! You cant go wrong with any flavor here. The restaurant was very clean and the workers were very sweet and helpful.

My sister and I were so excited to try the “flight” of gelato - I love that option! - but were pretty surprised at how lacking half of the flavors were. Maybe it was an off day, but we weren’t impressed and ended up going to Hendel’s after to get the ice cream fix we were wanting.

My first visit and to my palate of surprise-this is the best gelato that I have ever tasted. Creamy, best ingredients and definitely not overly sweet. The shop is quaint and completely adorable serving coffee and desserts. I had the pistachio and stratatella on a waffle cone.

Excellent gelato! Luca is cool, good sense of humor, knows his stuff. The gelato is super creamy, smooth...no shortcuts taken by adding water like some places do. The spicy chocolate gelato is amazing!

Great place for gelato! A ton of yummy flavors. Lots of variety. There are some fruity flavors. A couple of chocolate flavors. They even have a blueberry lavender flavor which was really yummy. The place is nice and open with lots of space. There is room for seating both inside and outside. The pricing is a bit much in my opinion, but overall a very great choice.

The Best Gelato!!! They make it fresh on site, great flavor assortment. Try the spicy chocolate cherry or lavender honey for something different. The cookies and cream as well as salted caramel are some of our favorites.

Some of the best gelato and flavor combinations Ive ever had! Im usually a salted caramel kind of person but it was a tad too sweet here. Opting out for the nocciola (hazelnut) was one of the best frozen dessert flavor decisions Ive ever made!

Get the gelato flights!! You can try 4 different flavors. We got mint chocolate, chocolate, stracciatella and pineapple. The best is the stracciatella, rich and creamy... you can tell it’s homemade. The mint one lacked mint flavor, couldn’t really taste it but it was still really good. Friendly service.

Great ambience. Lovely furniture, decorations, lighting. They have many kinds of gelato flavors, including almond liquor, better than Nutella, whiskey and cream. I had the better than Nutella and it was soooo good. Pricing is very competitive with other gelato places, we paid 8.75 for two small comes (good serving sizes each).Oh, they make their own gelato too! Love this place!

Its a healthier choice for ice cream, the waffle cone was not so fresh, the ice cream was good, but the portion was small for its price.

SO tasty! I had the chocolate coconut and the tiramisu flavors in a waffle cone and it exceeded expectations. They say it has less sugar and less fat than regular ice cream. Either way, its delicious.

FANTASTIC SERVICE ! My wife and I were lucky to have the company of our eldest grand daughter ( 6 years old ) for a few hours today. After picking up our little one at Mommy and Daddys place in Oceanside we headed to Carlsbad Village to enjoy our home made lunch and then buy our little girl an ice cream. I took the little girl with me into GelatoLove and I believe Paola the co-owner looked after us. I ordered 2 x double shot small lattes, a Funfetti Cake Gelato in a small sugar cone for the little one and a few assorted chocolates. Our lattes were made precisely the way I ordered and tasted perfect. The chocolates were also very nice. And most importantly our little girl totally enjoyed her Funfetti Cake Gelato in a small sugar cone. HARD TO BEAT !

I walked in and asked if I could use a napkin and the girl said yes. Minutes later a man follows me out and starts yelling at me and my boyfriend because we didn’t purchase anything. I’ve never seen so much drama created from a napkin before. He was very aggressive and rude.

My favorite gelato place. Some great, offbeat flavors (my favorite is the chocolate cherry cayenne). Very nice Italian family-owned business, fun vibe, and they are happy to let you taste as many flavors as you like. Not inexpensive, but well worth it in my opinion. If you are feeling extravagant, take a quart home!

Best gelato in San Diego, maybe in all of California. Cant go to Italy for gelato? Well, this is the next best thing! I moved to Colorado almost 2 years ago. I still fly back to Encinitas every few months & one of the 1st things I do is go get gelato from Gaia/Gelato Love. Its also the very last thing I do before heading to the airport to fly home. Do yourself a kindness & go treat yourself to Gelato deliciousness!

Just took my 3 year old daughter. She wanted shake but liked the orange sorbet but they assured me they could make shake out of it. I was skeptical. It was horrible so i gave it back to them after she took one sip and i took a sip to see how bad it really was. So i ordered her small orange sorbet. They charged me for both. Pretty lame.

Its hard to resist stopping in every time I walk past (or anywhere near) this little shoppe! More than a dozen wonderful flavors of gelato at any one time (the selection varies from day to day) and a nice selection of fancy little dessert items too. Delightful, friendly service. A fairly new local treasure.

Yummy Gelato. Over two dozen flavors, every day. They switch up the flavors too. Great staff, consistently. Very Clean and welcomed by atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Love the gelato and flavors. They have some unique flavors and some traditional flavors The lines are never long and the servers are very nice. There is plenty of seating inside and outside of the location, but parking may be harder to come by in the evenings sometimes.

Best ice cream and italian coffee that you can find in California

For a lacto vegetarians, they had a good variety of ice cream which was eggless for us to try some. The ice cream tasted fresh, creamy and of right sweetness. They also had waffle cone that did not contain egg and my kids were excited about it.

Several sorbets to choose from for the dairy free diet. Everyone else in our group said the gelato was delicious too. Interesting flavors, such as cherry chocolate cayenne.

I love this place! Just had the pumpkin gelato! this place never disappoints! It has the kindest people working here and they make sure their gelatos are always fresh, delicious, and exciting! My 4 year old even liked the dark chocolate with very little sugar and no dairy! That is how good all of their flavors are!

Fantastic location, both inside and out. The Gelato is amazing; made in house on the dailey. Their espresso menu is compact, and as such, every drink is consistently high quality. This is a definite stop, tourist or not.

Super creamy and I loved the subtle flavors. Pistachio, salted caramel, cardamom, honey lavender, pumpkin, cherry chocolate...real flavors. Wont disappoint, its amazing! We went 3 out of our 5 days here in Carlsbad. Wish they were open on Monday, would have made it 4 out of 5.

Absolutely love this shop! Specially made flavors and a staff thats knowledgeable about them all! Try the Sicilian Custard or the Berry Cheesecake. The staff is extremely friendly, uber helpful, knowledgeable and ready to help. Ive met the managera a few times and they seem to love what they do, and it shows through in their shop! This place is a must if youre looking for a quick dessert. (And theyre pastries are amazing). Ive never come in and had a less than stellar experience.

This is a great place to get amazing gelato. If you are visiting from out of town, it is worth it to make a visit. I definitely recommend the flight of gelato where you can choose 4 flavors.

LOVE Gaia Gelato, same taste, flavors and experience I was able to find in Florence, back in Italy. So Glad theyre in Carlsbad now!! My favorites are Almond, Dark Chocolate Sorbet and Honey Lavender. Also try their brioche gelato sandwich... its to die for!!

Three words Cheery Chocolate Chip, maybe one more word yum! This is by far the best gelato I have ever had. Wonderful flavors beautiful store with the owner as polite and friendly. There isnt a bad time for gelato and this place makes you want to try every flavor. The presentation of their goods is impressive, heck it is artistic. Some seating outside in the sun or inside their airy and pretty store.

We had the pistachio, caramel cashew crunch, mascarpone/ kumquat. All flavors were excellent. Great customer service. Can’t wait to return.

Authentic Italian Gelato!!! I missed the gelato I had in Florence but luckily found this place! The owner is from Sicily and brought a gelato machine from there. The result is amazing gelato! And so many choices!!! Something for everyone ! The portions are perfect, the service is friendly!!! Manga!!!

This is without doubts the most authentic Italian gelato in North County! I am Italian and I know how a good Italian gelato tastes :-)This is the real thing. Great tastes selection and excellent service. I went there with my kids and everyone loved it. My favorite taste is the pistachio and my favorite specialty is the affogato : ice cream with a shot of espresso coffee.
