Great store with an incredibly knowledgeable staff! All of their gear is high quality at a variety of price points. So awesome to have an alternative to big box guitar stores!
I love Twin House. Not only does it have top notch guitar repair (they have repaired a broken neck on our Gibson acoustic from travel) to setting up guitars and getting them in the most readied state. I’ve purchased 3 guitars and a mandolin from Twin House as well as all my strings, picks, straps, pedals, etc. and will be a loyal customer for as long as they are in business.
Amazingly nice and friendly staff with selections most guitar stores don’t carry! I think I’ve found my new favorite shop.
Incredible selection and impeccable service. Setups are pristine and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I have spent time in many music equipment shops as well as working in one in the past and this is by far the best of the best.
Fantastic music store with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great section of guitars and accessories. Expert set ups and repairs.
Employees will refuse to sell you anything if you ask why they require masks for the fully vaccinated (for context we put on our masks immediately when asked upon walking in the store). Bizarre how quickly they escalated the situation. They didn’t know that the CDC has said that it’s incredibly unlikely for the vaccinated to be carriers. Apparently they must have been wearing masks their whole lives to avoid getting measles because no vaccine is “100% effective”. A month ago I would agree that people should be wearing masks, but the scientists have officially decreed it to be unnecessary now. It’s no longer anything but a way to make yourself feel morally superior while losing business.(Edit: I’m happy to remind that we did put on our masks right away. We were told to leave (“you should leave, the door is right there”) when one of us remarked that we found it “weird” to still require masks. They absolutely have the right to ask us to wear masks (which we did) but it was bizarre how they immediately treated us like anti-vaxxers at that point, escalating a conflict. The business is happy to believe in science until it no longer requires a physical symbol of who is good/smart and who is bad/dumb. I’m sure they’re getting a lot of business right now, so it isn’t like they could use our money. They even have so much money that they think it’s cool to insult a poor student for going through a McDonald’s drive-through, so be sure not to hold a fast food drink in your hand.)
Very helpful staff. Great selection of effect pedals with an emphasis on gear from local companies. I feel like I learn something new each time I stop in, even if Im just buying cables
I love what they did with the place!I had my third and fourth guitar lessons right next door when the place was the Music Loft in 1999.Stopped in for a clip-on tuner, and pleasantly surprised the price was lower than Amazon!Bought some strings as well, which are almost always more expensive if bought in person these days, no exception here. The guitar techs definitely know what they’re doing. Though I haven’t had anything setup there, wouldn’t hesitate to!Will visit again, recommended!
This is an incredible store in person, but I also strongly recommend them for mailorder. Their in-store setups are as good as it gets and their packing is bulletproof, so you can buy a guitar from the webstore and it will arrive at your door in better shape than you would get off the rack at Sam Ash. Knowledgeable staff, well-curated stock. This is as good as it gets.
Brian Dylan and Spencer are all cool and a nice alternative to guitar center and samash
Brian, Spencer, and Dylan are top notch, they are knowledgeable, and helpful, and articulate, friendly, engaging.... I like it.
Brian McGee is an absolute wizard when it comes to setting up a guitar for you. He has absolutely TRANSFORMED every instrument Ive ever brought in for repair or setup into something amazing. And hes a helluva nice guy with fantastic customer service and some very nice guitars and awesome pedals for your perusal. Folks, he deserves your business.
Very cool and also nice. Good stuff knowledgeable staff.
Incredibly rude staff and discriminatory mask policy. Hopefully this building is torn to the ground and replaced with something better.
Had a setup done on my bass. Brian did a great job and in a timely manner. Can’t recommend enough.
Bought a great little drumset here. It was a better value than anything on Craigslist in a 70 mile radius. Plus it came with new heads and accoutrement.
Great shop and customer service! Dylan could not have been more helpful and nice to work with. Even with the new Covid precautions he made it really easy to set up an appointment and walk away with what I needed. Fun and easy, thanks so much!
Exceptional! Brian and his team are welcoming, knowledgeable, and talented. We are thrilled to have such a growing, dynamic local music shop. Whether you need a new or used instrument, repairs, or accessories, you should do yourself a favor and check with them before going anywhere else.
Great instrument shop...have had several guitars repaired or set up here and its top notch work. The assortment in the shop is super cool and has just the right amount of gear. Nice place to just hang out and shoot the breeze too...
Brian is a wizard at guitar repair. My guitar teacher sent me to him. Any guitar player in Chapel Hill would.
Convenient, very knowledgeable staff, clearly like music and what they do as there is a general chill / positive vibe. Decent selection of guitars. Also think they do repair?
This place is everything I wished the Music Loft wouldve been. Store is neat, gear is great, selection is constantly improving, and the staff is very friendly. And they carry my heavier string gauges!
Great people! Some really good deals on new and used instruments. Highly recommended!
This place is everything a local store should be!Nice people, good selection of known and eclectic brands, new and used goodies at all price points!
Great music store with a laid-back feel and a very helpful staff!
Ive fretted for years about having a pickup installed in my Menkevitch nylon and finally bit the bullet this week at Twin House. Brian installed an L.R. Baggs Anthem system and it sounds exceptional, and the workmanship was excellent in every way. Plus he rushed the job for me for a very reasonable fee. Hes got a new customer! I feel really lucky to have a luthier this good so close to where I live. Go Twin House - Hats Off!
Excellent shop, whether you need gear or work done on your instrument.
This is a really well run shop. The owner is an excellent repair man/luthier, and a great guy at that.
One word....Honest! Now go.
This place rules. They are great.
Good spot for lessons.
