This is a big Asian supermarket but the difference from other markets is that it caters to all different Asian countries, especially Southeast Asia. Whereas other markets mostly cater to one region of Asia such as Korea or China and only very few of other regions. They even have a section with selected African food and seasonings.I love this place and have been coming here for years. Employees are very friendly and helpful.I usually go for Filipino or Thai food items.

This is one of my favorite Asian markets. They have a very large fresh produce department. Fresh bean sprouts, snow peas, trumpet mushrooms, all type of fresh peppers, wide variety of dried mushrooms. Many brands of soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, chili sauces. Also a large variety of southwestern flavors of dried Mexican peppers and spices for chili and Tex-Mex foods. Fresh (live) seafood and, in season live frogs and crayfish. It is worth a visit.

When I walked into the store, almost half the lights were off in the store. The store smelled awful, mostly of seafood, and not the fresh kind. Almost all of the employees were huddled in one corner of the store by the checkout, just talking. It was the least busy Asian market I had seen. I looked around some, their selection was good and was different from other local stores. The one nice surprise was the wide selection of Thai foods that I hadnt seen anywhere else. However, I felt unsafe and got out quickly after picking up one or two items. The employees hesitantly moved over to the checkout line to help. I later found the items I bought for about a dollar less at another Asian store. I wont be returning here.

When I walked into the store through the enter-only door, I was greeted with the most awful stench I have ever smelled in a grocery store. I absolutely positively could not stomach it. So my experience in the store lasted about 10 seconds because, without hesitation, I made my way to the exit. I couldnt hold my breath much longer. Sorry for the bad review but this is what I experienced. 😒

I have only been to the store on one other occasion and that was with a friend of mine. I did not have any intention of purchasing items myself. On this occasion I was actually looking for soy sauce and my friend informed me I can get a gallon at this location for about the cost of the small bottles at Walmart. They were 100% correct there was a gallon on sale that cost $0.57 more then Walmarts soy sauce. I was more than happy to pay $0.57 for five times the amount.

A great place to get Viet, LatAm, Indian, and West African groceries. Friendly staff, even when Ive been that guy that forgot how much money was left on his card and had to ask them to put things back (sorry!).Also, if you are trying to avoid purchasing Chinese manufactured goods, a lot of their housewares are manufactured in freer countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Korea and a lot of their Vietnamese foodstuffs are sourced from Vietnamese-American businesses here in the states!Produce is fresh, mostly sourced locally or from neighboring Mexico.Their fresh meat is great and includes hard to find cuts like bone-in pork belly and they have great deals on duck and shellfish.Waiting on the return of their deli, but they do have fresh baked, steamed, and fried food near checkout.

They boast myriad variety of spices, beverages, boxed / canned foods, frozen items, sweets, and imported food. Additionally, they carry items such as:- flatware- place settings- pots/pans- personal hygiene- home decor- beer/wine- much, much moreWhen I first started shopping at Carrollton Plaza Supermarket my visits seemed few and far between. However I quickly learned that I was finding everything on my shopping lists with this one stop! No more looking at my list thinking, going to Kroger for this, Walmart for that, Costco for this, or Whole Foods for that. We moved from CA, we were close to Little Saigon to TX and wanted to find a Vietnamese market so that we could get all of our Asian groceries. This market is big with lots of fresh produce, housewares, meat and fish dept, and lots of Asian groceries. I was impressed. It had pretty much everything I wanted to get and then some! Lots of different cooking products for all ethnic groups. Not just Vietnamese or Chinese. I highly recommend and the prices are reasonable. They have a lot of interesting products. Finally they are doing some MUCH needed renovations. Its kinda hard to find things, but maybe thats due to the renovation. Its very Asian and a lot of the products do not have good English labels. Its sort of like going to a Mexican grocery store & not speaking Spanish. Its easy to be confused. If youre a Westerner whos used to shopping in a western supermarket that might aggravate you. I really want to commend the great service I had on 10/15. I love Vietnamese food, and have begun learning to cook it at home. While there are other Asian supermarkets in the area, few have a wide selection of items needed for Vietnamese cooking. This place is the real deal, the signs in the produce area are in Vietnamese and English. They have a large produce department, massive meat market with both fresh and frozen meats, as well as spice, soup bases, seasonings noodles etc.I was purchasing items to make Bun Bo Hue, and went to check out. A man came up to bag and I showed him my recipe, he was very kind and helpful and told me that I needed a different kind of shrimp paste, and noodles than I purchased.
