I had never rented a storage unit before. Online registration was a snap. The facility is spotless and all summer the climate was controlled perfectly. I had trouble hitting the code and elevator buttons at the right time and the staff was so nice and helpful! I also often had to visit the site by myself. The place is wel lit and safe.

We came here today after leaving public storage on Centreville Road while was very dirty and it smelled bad as we walked to check out a unit. They had very bad customer service and we decided to come to extra space storage and Mr. Sanchez was very professional and patient with us because we were undecided. He helped us choose The best unit for us and believe it or not he chose the right one, we were truly please with the service we received and we will be referring our family and friends. By the way it is very clean and didn’t smell bad and we got a really nice deal on the 5x10 unit!!!

I am extremely disappointed. This company is fraud. I rented a storage for one price and signed a contract. I then went ahead and arranged for a moving company to take my stuff to the storage room. As soon as I settled - the next month they sent me a bill for a completely different price. They increased the bill for an additional $60 on top of my original price. When I called to inquire as to what happened, they had no valid explanation and that the rate had changed. And also recommended that we either take the new rate or leave. So they know that once you move and go through the entire moving process - you won’t do it again- that’s why they change the rate. Stay away from them. They are crooks and thieves. In the beginning, they will give you one price and as soon as you move, they will send you an updated bill with the so called “ price increase and adjustment “ do not take your stuff here - find a different storage. Save yourself the headache.

I was disheartened after visiting other public storage companies today. I was told there were very few units available so the cost would be higher. I decided to go to one more place with hopes there was availability at a more reasonable price. When I entered Extra Space Storage in Centerville I was greeted warmly by Edwin and immediately noticed how clean everything was. Edwin is what made the difference at this store. First, I asked a few questions and surprisingly there costs did not fluctuate with availability. Edwin asked to show me the facility, this was not offered at the other companies I visited. He showed me the units that would work with the items I needed to store, along with several ways to access the unit. He took the time to answer all my question, I had a lot, and showed me the process of getting into the facility. Edwin through out the entire process never once made me feel pressured. His professionalism and sincerity is what sold me on this company; they are very fortunate to have him as an employees.

I had to move quick from an apt in Oxon Hill MD to keep my stuff safe until I moved to a new apt in Centerville VA and I found Extra Space Storage after googling storage units in that area. The reverse process on the website was easy. Once I got to Extra Space Storage Edwin was incredible. He helped me understand the contract and the features they have to offer. He brought me up to my storage unit to make sure it was large enough. My contract was sent to my email and the keypad login to get in was sent to me via text. Perfect experience, great customer service!

I hired movers on a Monday to move stuff out of my house. I went back on Friday and realized that my storage unit was broken into and furniture was stolen. I reported it right away to two store associates in there. They were to my unit, took photos and said will look at cameras to see what happened. They gave me a pamphlet with an insurance email/phone number on it to call and told me make a claim; to call the number and follow protocol. They said will start an internal investigation and that was it. I called the insurance and also place a police report. When the officer arrived, he looked at the unit and noted that the lock was not picked or the door damaged. (BTW, I bought my own lock, and Im the only one with the key to the lock. Also, did not leave an extra copy of the key with them). The officer told me I was the 4th person reporting stolen goods from this location since December 2020!! - 2 reports in Dec, 1 in Jan and now mine in Feb. When asked, the store associates stated that they have cameras on the outside at the loading docks and at the main entrance, but NO CAMERAS IN THE HALLWAYS to protect the customer privacy. What privacy? Hallways are of common use. As long as they dont have cameras INSIDE the units, that is privacy. I also called the HQ of the company and placed my complaint. I researched for further reviews of this location and another customer mentioned it happened the same to him. Apparently he was told they have somebody who is roaming around the storage and breaking into units, and have a lead. Looks like an inside job. THEY KNOW WHO THE THIEF IS! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Aimee (Amy) went above and beyond to assist me with gaining access to my storage unit. I had difficulty gaining access, Aimee fixed it, I had problems getting the elevator to work once entering my access code, Aimee did not talk me through my issue but she actually came to the elevator, showed me how to gain access to the correct floor and then guided me to my storage unit. Aimee demonstrated excellent customer service. Kudos to Aimee.

Extra space storage is so convenient. It is right off 28 and 66. It is clean, secure and easily accessible. We rented 2 10×10 units. Even though they were on the 2nd floor we had no difficulty moving in or out. Plenty of carts were readily available. Elevators were fast and spacious. We readily rented another spot after emptying the first two. Staff is pleasant and easy to work with.

Very nice and clean facility! I love that there are plenty of carts in front to roll your belongings in and out easily (I’ve used other storage facilities in the area where you’re lucky to maybe find one wobbly cart stashed somewhere random). I rented unit at this storage in first week of Dec 2020. I came back 6days later to add few more boxes and realized that my storage unit was broken into and all my electronics were stolen. I reported right away to store associate and she said she will look at cameras to see what happend. I called the police right away and they are doing the investigation. Storage manager never even bothered to call me and see what happend or to offer his help. They just gave me paper with insurance email/number on it to call and literaly told me make a claim we dont care, call this number we have a protocol. Next week store associate told me that she looked at the cameras and saw what happend but they dont want to share any informations with me nor the POLICE since thats their policy. Apparently they have somebody who is roaming around the storage and breaking into units, they have cameras everywhere and they are protecting the thief, THEY KNOW WHO THE THIEF IS! While moving out I have met couple of renters and informed them what happend, let say they were terrified and they moved out immediately. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! I rented Cube smart for years and never had any issues! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Ordered a space online. Their office called right away to set everything up (it does take a few minutes, but I suppose thats standard). Texted me the login code and I was up and running right away. I moved my stuff in the next morning. They provide a lot of moving carts, and the storage space was clean and well-lit. Awesome experience!
