I am super unhappy about the way my experience with Public Storage ended. I rented a storage unit for several months and submitted my vacate notice via the app, which was 4 October. I received an automated email informing me of my next steps.. indicating that nothing else would occur until after the manager confirmed I had moved out. On 5 October I noticed that my account still shows the total amount due, which was for the full month of October.. I expected my account to get pro-rated as soon as it was confirmed that I moved out and that I had left the unit clean. Since that hadnt happened, I decided to call to find out when my account would be adjusted and to be sure that I hadnt overlooked something.Apparently, what I overlooked was the fine print - Public Storage does not pro-rate their units. I paid a full month ($170) for 4 days of storage. HOW can you not pro-rate your units?? If I had realized this, I would have indicated that my move out date was 31 October and let that unit sit empty for the entire month instead of allowing Public Storage to take advantage and double dip on their rental.I get it, I should have read the entirety of the 2 point font of the rental agreement, but I will tell you this, if I ever need a storage unit in the future or if anyone that I know need a storage unit, I will not suggest Public Storage for this reason alone.You can do better, Public Storage - be decent.

This place is a den of thieves. I asked about renting a unit until the end of the month they said you can do that. Later I find out they didnt cancel it and charged me for the following month. I also learned that these guys charged my credit card without authorization, as I disabled auto-pay before they charged me. Ill never rent from this place again, and will recommend everyone else to take their business elsewhere.

Came in to rent a unit and Debbie gave great customer service. Helped me get set up for the public storage app. She was very professional and explained everything we needed to know.

Told them upfront how long we needed the unit due to only needing it for helping with a transition of a move. We were told this would not be a problem and would not be charged any auto fees when canceling after one month. This turned out to be false and we were penalized when closing as scheduled. I would not recommend as their prices were not honest.

This place is great! Ive been at other places and this place is temp controlled really well and doesnt have that smell other places have from the rodent control substances. Additionally, the staff is really friendly and have things that really matter like big carts to move things in and out.

Public Storage Centreville was a good place to store our belongings. The staff were always helpful and professional. It was always a clean facility.. The initial cost of renting a 12x20 unit was great. However, within 3 mos. the rate increased and every year we were there the rate increased. Last increase was over $40. The longer youre there the higher your rent will be. Public Storage should give discounts to long term, in good standing patrons rather than sending an email saying dont leave well reduce your rent by $35. None of this issue reflects on the employees...its the business model that seems flawed.

I have had my personal belongings at this particular Public Storage location for several years. The staff here are always friendly. Of particular note, Jay, has gone over and beyond being helpful. When I walk in he always greets me with a smile. I cannot imagine anyone being more helpful than Jay. He is a big plus to this companyAlso, manager Vanessa has been patient with me. I lost my keys THREE times over my time here. She is the one who had to come here three times and cut the lock for me. I bet she knows my storage number by now.As embarrassed as I was telling Jay I lost my keys again, he never caused me to feel dumb or a bother.I highly recommend this location!

Location was conveniently close to my old home; moving things there was quick and easy and I was able to set up over the phone w/o any hassle.The storage locker was fine overall, but there was some a leak in the roof that was allowing water to drip down on my stuff on rainy days near the left middle side of the storage space. I wish I had relented for another locker, but I was in a rush at the time of setting it up and decided to work around the issue, instead. Still : PS Centreville - get that roof fixed on Bldg 8!As a result, I only put plastic tubs that were fully sealed in that area and when I wiped the water off of each one as I was moving out, I was glad I made sure to do that. All my other things were dry/safely stored during the 2 month period I had kept my items in storage.Staffing at the location is extremely minimal w/ COVID protocols in place, so please allow extra time and keep that in mind when scheduling time to manage anything admin-related. Thankfully, their website is easy to use via mobile and desktop for most of the items beyond a physical check-in.Overall a 4/5. Good enough; not great, but it did the job.

I cannot say how horrible this location is. I use to store my items in another storage and there was never an issue. Last night I got locked insider Public Storage. The gate for my car to leave would not open. I called them and the man there was telling me it was because I tried to leave late. NO IT WASNT! When I got there even at 7 there was a couple waiting for what I now believe to be someone to open them, because as soon as I typed in my code they ran into their car and drove off. I then got a police officer there who tried to open me for 3 hours and could not.I called again to speak to a woman who was extremely condescending and rude. While I was talking to the officer she was interrupting me. I told her I was talking to the officer and she demanded that I pay attention to her. I told her he was asking me questions. I ended up having to leave my car there, and the police drove me home. I then had to take an uber to get my car there this morning. When I got there the woman at the desk at had a customer and was waiting to talk to her about what happened.She asked me do I need anything and I told her I had to leave my car last night because the gate wouldnt open. She said oh that was you no wonder you left your car. And the said so... what do you want. SO rude. I have been calling them all day and they wont pick up the phone. Their Instagram has blocked me now since I told them my story. This is the worst company experience ever and the worst customer service ever.UPDATE:On Thursday, May 31, I got a call from Jillian Gonzalez, the area manager of Public Storage. She informed me that she tried to get in contact with me on Wednesday, the day before, not because of the fact that I was locked in the storage place for HOURS, but because she saw my Yelp review. She then informed me that the review would hurt her JOB PERFORMANCE and asked me to remove it. I was actually shocked when I saw such glowing reviews of this place. Now I know why. She calls people and asks them to remove it because it affects her job.She then then tells me that she sent someone over there but when they got there I was gone. WHEN?? I asked her this multiple times but she refuses to tell me when. She then tells me she would refund my uber fare with a Public Storage CREDIT, not a check. Did I use a Public Storage credit to pay for this Uber? She then leaves the most asinine emails. She tells me her boss knows all about her interactions and she is forwarding my emails to her as a way of intimidating me. She wont answer my questions about when this person supposedly came, and is pretending she never told me to delete my reviews, so she can have a better performance score at her job ($$$$$).She is a liar and not to be trusted. I now question the reviews here. I have a feeling shes a scammer, and shes definitely a liar.

I am ALL about some efficiency and needed a space to secure my storage immediately. I had a personal follow-up call from Jay to ensure I can reserve a spot. Had to work through some adjustments from the original sized space that I had reserved online; however, due to Jay’s efficiency and helpful nature, I was able to secure a working space upon walking in. Jay and Neil were present during my walk-in and were extremely kind and quick to answer all of my curiosities, as this is my first utilizing a public storage unit.

Here is a good place to Storage it is clean and the people are nice Jays is a good guy nice and he can help you with what you need to do.

Just signed up for a climate controlled space and was given the Grand Tour of the facilities by the very friendly and informative Danielle at the front desk. Large multistory building with keycode access to parking lot as well as interior spaces. Automatic lighting worked fine and shows good cost-savings on Public Storages part. Except for the pounding and banging =I= did putting together some of my own shelving that I brought with me and right after I signed up, the facility was relatively quiet and the environmental controls seemed to be working fine - reasonable temperature and humidity (in the DC area yet!) I do not fear!And I thought the pricing was right as well.

Jay is very helpful and professional! Finished my reservation and all paperwork within 10 minutes. I’m very satisfied with his service and easy going attitude. I highly recommend this office.

The managers at this location are extremely friendly and very willing to work with you with pricing, the exact space your looking for and including customer service! Danielle especially was very helpful throughout the whole process of getting a space there and was very welcoming and knowledgable from start to finish of what to get. Most definitely happy to get a unit here from the help of Danielle and would highly recommend!

Have not moved in yet however Jay and Danielle have taken great care of me and my family as we transition from central Texas to the Virginia area. My experience so far with this public storage facility has been the best of any storage entity or any Public Storage facility so far. This facility is perfect for me. It is also clean and easily accessible. Mohammad Ali help me with all the details and explained all the paper work. He was very patient while I was deciding the size of the unit and he showed a 3 different units so I could make my decision. Loved working with him.

Property is ok. Problem? Public storage doesnt tell you all of the other costs. I was told a certain price (discounted for first month) and when I checked in, I had to get insurance, a lock and an admin fee. No problem. I understand that they are necessary, but let your customers know when giving the price. Dont be dishonest.Add on to previous review... Very deceptive. Total rip off. I would not recommend using them. Better options everywhere. Rude customer service as well.
