Not a bad store for what it is, but selection is a bit limited and they really kinda jack the prices up due to the relatively captive student audience.
One of the stores with better produces and meats. Convenient location for most of the student apartments.
Absolute scam. Everything is they sell is about 200% higher than everywhere else. They take advantage of students without cars, like myself, that dont know any better. Definitely not going here anymore. Ill take the bus to Ruler Foods on Springfield instead.
Nice place, good vibes, family friendly but still a cool spot, decent nonalcoholic options w a good food truck in the parking lot
The prices can be a bit expensive compared to Target, Walmart, or Costco, but the selection is much better than the local Target, and the location is much closer to campus than the other options.
We had the prepped seasoned salmon from the steamer bags one week and it was fantastic. Tried it the following week and it was not done nearly as well. Consistency is important if you want repeat business.
Walking distance to many apartments. Great selection of meats and cheeses
This review applies to the County Market on Springfield Avenue in Champaign, IL. Im leaving prices out of my consideration and focusing on perceived value that I derived from my experiences shopping here. The selection is good. Deli area exceeds expectations (always great pre-cooked products such as rotisserie chicken). They offer a nice variety of baked goods. Produce selection is fine. Checkout service moves quickly. The location is convenient to work commute and proximity to downtown and other nearby businesses. The store is maintained well. Great job!
Great variety of items. Definitely catering towards the college crowd. Theres a whole section for frozen pizza and hot pockets, and a sizable selection of hard beverages.
Food bussing products not bad 10/10 for me😁
Convenient location and a good selection. The prices are a bit higher than other grocery stores in town but if I only need a few items its great.
One of the cashiers made a negative comment about my clothes to my face the other day (a white man with blondish/light brown hair and In his late 20s or early 30s) and today I saw him again and he was talking ridiculing me to another employee (a young african american woman with her hair pulled back) who also laughed about it as I walked past. Definitely won’t be coming back. I don’t know how you can just treat somebody you don’t even know like that, especially when you don’t know what they’re going through. Shame on you. County Market doesn’t care who they hire clearly because I always leave with a bad taste in my mouth.
Overpriced produce, but everything else is fine. The store is clean and has its own parking lot so you don’t have to pay for parking. They sell personal care items and some limited cooking supplies as well. The sushi counter and ready-to-eat foods also taste great at an affordable price.
Good sales. Fresh items
A good example of supply and demand. The demand for food on campus where most don’t have cars is high. The supply is low, and until the target came in, County had a monopoly. So it’s overpriced here. I always get a kick out of what has to be the largest frozen pizza selection in America. You gotta know your market.
Big enough, clean and variety of products.
I go here almost daily. Theyre usually pretty good at keeping their shelves rotated, but look out for their coffee cakes...i think theyve been there all year
The employees are friendly. They have a great selection of Korean foods and spirits. Its a small space but they pack a lot into it. Great place. Really liked it.
It was a very clean and well lit market with friendly staff. Great shopping experience
This one is far to over priced imo...6.50 for a small stick of deodorant that is always half that price and twice that size at walgreens of all places. Its not them, its my wallet, it doesnt wanna be empty!
Best place for fresh goods on campus.
One of the few places in town with Bitcoin ATM, thats great.
Love the fried chicken its better than the other grocery stores. I can say its always crowded though
Good experience with all the shopping done there!
Probably the best meat abs seafood counter in town. Excellent cheese and beer department. Good produce. Small store but what selection they do have is great
Manager was rude, Vikki. I was a regular customer, but not anymore.
Always able to utilize my penny pincher sheet. Love my chicken wings!💯
Fresh products but at the sametime it is costly.
They have all the basics you need. Good meat and seafood selection. Lots of premade lunches. A bit pricey on some things. Lots of parking.
A lot of items are way overpriced here.
Thought the prices would drop when the target opened up but its still just cheaper to go anywhere else. Decent selection tho
Sort of a life line for many students for day to day groceries and other stuff. Convenient location especially for people residing in Champaign near the Engineering Quad. However, fair warning, things are a little on the pricier side in comparison.
It has all that you need in terms of food and basic living supplies
Best choices food products, high price items but great services
I am sad to say one of my favorite stores is short stock staffed. Didnt have all of what I was looking for.(first time since starting to shop there.
Lots of items, you can find. However, the market is pricey.
Always good service when I go to pay my Ameren bill and its on campus so always bizzy & full of cuties ijs!
Very clean and well stocked, was very comfortable that students who are still on campus can shop safely.
Wish they would of made this a Harvest Market. The prices are high but the products are very ordinary.
It’s convenient for all the students neighborhood even though the price is higher than big markets. For people who don’t have a car, this is likely the biggest market you could easily access around UIUC campus.
I got a red velvet cake from them that was not good will not get another piece of cake from them again.
Clean, great selection, nice staff
A super clean and everything well organized market. Its fresh grocery and butchery really save me a lot. I can get almost all food and daily use items I need.
Its a really convenient location. The prices are relatively high though and there are few cashiers. One entrance and set of check out machines of the store is closed at night. There lacks a good selection of healthy products (for example there is almost no whole grain pasta or no sodium beans offered). Overall it offers a good way to get items you cant get on Amazon pantry since its in walking distance of a bunch of apartments.
Prices are a little high relative to Target and Walmart but its pretty high quality for the produce so it has that going for it.
Up charge bc they know students have no where else to go
Easy to find everything I need due to its smaller size. Easy to get too as well. Friendly helpful staff. Great prices, even better with the penny pincher coupons.
Smaller cramped store.
My go-to market for lunch during my stay in town. Lots of ready to eat food. Sushi is fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Nicely located near downtown Champaign. Fresh produce. Reasonable prices.
Very clean and fast cashiers and prices are nice..
Service was great
If Im there its because im desperate. Really bad value, not great selection.
I loved it! The best thing is it is open for 24 hours, which is very much needed fir me in an emergency. But the price of its products seemed a little higher for me. By the way, whoever like sushi, can go there and grab a box of fresh sushi. Yumm. 😋😋
Very convenient for grocery shopping. The bakery is fantastic, especially the banana bread
Great customer service but not much stuff to choose from wasnt able to find liquid bandaid either time I whent
Reliable, dependable and cost efficient.
Nice store, a little dirty.
24/7. It just sells everything. I love to buy the sushi from County Market. Really fresh
Hope they can fix their carts. Most carts here make really loud noise and dont roll smoothly. Everything else is fine.
Nice market. Produce looked to be above average.
One of the few stores that are open 24 hrs. At store that is open 24 hrs a day is helpful especially since we go to work early in the morning and we have a place to go in case of an emergency. The customer service is ob point and you never have to wait too long in line.
I noticed your guidelines for protection of your employees, but what about the public. You should have disinfecting wipes upon entering the store. Perhaps antibacterial for the persons entering the store. You need to protect your employees by supplying the public with antibacterial available to the public. Perhaps upon entering the store have an antibacterial station for your customers entering the store.
Was shopping in the frozen foods section when Barracuda by Heart came on the speakers. That alone should tell you how awesome my shopping experience was.11/10 will shop again.
I get what i want, when i want and the way i want it and im not selfish or ugly.
Quick and easy.
Trendy Market! This place has everything youd need for campus life. Theres a nice deli there and a soup bar area, so if youre in the mood for some food, you can get something ready to eat here. They also have a wonderful cafe and plenty of places to sit and catch up on your work. The place is very clean and welcoming. Its one of my favorite stores to get food at.
Always have every thing I want just the way I want it, Thanks COUNTY market
Go to place for groceries in a walking distance for people living nearby university campus.
The aisles are really small. Its awkward just walking around people in the aisle
They have the best prices for the quality and quantity of their food
Huge place with lots of variety in the food that you can chose from. There is a whole lot of choice when it comes to food here. They also have a lot of cheese and meat options which means Ill most likely have the type that you want which is nice. The people here are really nice as well and are willing to help you find what you need. All in all, a pretty nice place to shop.
Right in the middle of Champaign Campustown, easily accessible even at late hours.
County Market is really the only supermarket thats convenient on campus. The prices and sales are always pretty good, all the aisles are really neat and stocked. I never have trouble finding what I need here. The biggest plus about this place is that open 24/7.
The produce section is good and has fresh stuff. Variety of produce and other food is limited but good enough for a small market. The selection of non-food products is significantly smaller than food related products. Location is very convenient and its open round the clock. Prices are a bit higher but if you were to utilize sales and coupons, its not too bad. Staff is helpful.
I bought some milk from this place. It was expensive and decayed very fast.
You get most of the things here. Best part is it runs 24x7!Especially, in winter months, the proximity to campustown really helps.Do try the fried chicken!
Good place to buy food and other things to the house.Site with a large variety of products at reasonable prices. Outstanding the sections of fresh products (fruits and vegetables) and fresh bakery. The treatment of staff is really very good.
Best grocery store in town. You can get almost anything you are looking for here. Prices are decent and there is plenty of parking. This is a good place to go for your one stop shop.
Overpriced, especially on the frozen foods. Ive also gone there enough to notice this store raising prices just before a big sale, to give bigger discounts, so only four stars. The staff makes up for it though. The absolute worst staff members are just quiet, which is barely a complaint, to me. I cant think of another business I e gone into and said, No one there has ever been rude to me, ever. In fact, the staff is actually pretty great and the quality of their deli products is high.I still would say drive somewhere else, if you can afford to, just because the prices on some specific items are higher than normal, but of youre stuck near this store its not a bad place to shop.
The store is very well stocked considering the massive demand of all the students on campus, with a little bit of everything. The shelves and produce are always neat and tidy. A huge selection of liquor for obvious reasons. The prices are a bit high due to being the only grocery store on campus and the staff, specifically the cashiers, leave a lot to be desired in terms of customer service. Overall, a good place to stop in and do some light shopping but I try not to do my regular shopping there.
For a campus grocery store, this is a great place. Some of the staff is less than helpful, but overall no complaints. Note, this is not a full grocery store so they have a little less selection than the full sized stores. They do have all the necessities, and a decent variety.
Great selection and convenient location. Shout out to the awesome and helpful staff here especially! Their ice cream selection needs to improve though, they only have the very classic but best selling (read safe) flavors.
Good variety of mid-tier groceries, with a few higher quality treats. Decent little cafe by the check out, deli, and buffet. Free WiFi and a small lounge. All in all, if you dont want to give the mega stores more money, this is a delightful alternative.
The grocery store for the students on campus. Easy to go and grab.Fresh products and Grocery are okay, everyday essentials are okay, cooking tools are also available, but home products like beddings are least available. The items are more expensive than other stores if I dont use the mail-in coupons here.Although it is not my favorite store, I happen to go there often because of the proximity to the campus.*I visited the coffee shop there at the back door once, and the coffee was surprisingly good.
Great employees, the Country Market deli is fantastic. The fried chicken is great!
Ive seen this in another country I cant believe theyd betray us like that
Great prices, good selection.
Go to grocery spot within Campustown. Really joking the new Target doesnt make them lose business.
Its really convenient to have a 24×7 store right on campus and everything is decently priced and almost everything youd want is available.
Decent grocery store. The produce isnt very good, meat selection is okay and the rest of the store is pretty good. The prices at the store are much higher than they really need to be except a few items when theyre on sale. There arent a lot of other options nearby that you can get to without a car though.
Great store, helpful and friendly staff.
Very close to my residence. Nice staff and very helpful. The deli rocks!
Easy to get to by public transportation, open 24 Hrs, prices are fair and compatible to Walmart. And other services are available here like bill payment area.
Very good selection, often I find the deals they offer are better than even Walmarts prices if I drive all the way out there. Only grocery store open 24 hrs that I know of, so huge plus! They have foreign import food, vegetarian/vegan options, and general grocery store items. Unless you need something really, really specialty, County probably has whatever you need covered.
A little pricey but good layout, good selection and quick service!
Best place for groceries on campus. Open 24/7 all through the year. Great Deli and fresh fruits.
