The manager and his families are super friendly and helpful. Once I was at 30+ weeks pregnancy with my second child and I bought two bags of groceries. I was alone by myself with my toddler girl who can barely walk on her own at that time. They asked twice if I need help to carry them to my car. It was not heavy so I said I was fine. But I deeply appreciate their kindness. And every time when I bought so many stuff that I couldn’t carry all of them at once, they will always help. They have fresh veggies and fruits coming in every Thursday and Sunday. The space is super tiny but they have almost everything that my family wants to eat. If you ever want to find something just feel free to ask anyone at work. AND the prices are the best in town.

This place is a gem. Tucked away on a side street off of University avenue I didnt know it was there for years. Once I found it I go back every week to pick up hard to find Asian cuisine ingredients. I feel like Ive stepped into a Chinatown grocery in a large metropolitan area when I shop here. I love it!

Great selection, fresh things are very fresh, staff is very helpful. If youre looking for something hard to find and Asian, youll probably get it here. The atmosphere is just like any authentic Asian store. Even the store name is painted by hand over the door!Dont try to find anything yourself, though--youll just end up browsing the entire store for hours. Just ask the people working there, they know the store and its inventory backwards and forwards at the blink of an eye.

Have a variety of groceries, much more affordable than any other Asian grocery stores in town. Staffs are super nice, I saw they often help customers carry bags and load things to their cars. Vivia is the Queen of the Fifth Street.

Filthy store that looks like those market in some bad neighborhood. A market with absolutely no windows doesnt feel safe to me. However the goods in there does feel very oriental, much like those you can find in Chinatown. Along with narrow spaces and unorganized shelves, I give this a 2-star.

Warning: if you want Asian groceries, theres a better alternative on Prospect (Asian Supermarket). This place, Far East, is crappy. Cashier is always grumpy and appears to hate you when you are not fast enough to pull out exact amount of money you are supposed to pay, and does not hide that they are in the rush to get money from the next customer by throwing change in your face. And besides its extremely cramped so if you are claustrophobic dont go there.

I visited this place once a week as a part of my groceries shopping. Choose this place for its price (if you are cooking Indonesian, other south east asia, and chinese cuisines). The green vegetables are fresh and cheaper. You may find some basic utensils and snacks here. This place is pretty cramp (compared to other similar type of stores and has no window.. might be a problem for some but not for me. Some items have no price on its display. Ask any staff to check it before surprised at cashier counter with unexpected price.
