This place is terrible the only thing they care about is money and they do not care about the student and they could care less if the student has any inconveniences. they terminated my contract for no reason because i had exams and could not come to lessons and the teachers do not wan to make up the lessons. they did not give us any details or anything, the owner himself decided to take us out of lessons. I AM TELLING U DO NOT COME HERE. they only care about money not educating u about music.
Overall we really liked this place. The issue for us is that it’s $310 per month (plus registration) for two kids to have ONE lesson a week. That comes out to $38 per child per 30 minutes. This seemed like a lot, then I realized that they also close 4 weeks per year with no proration on top of that... And if an instructor needs to miss a class and they just got try to “reschedule” on an additional day during the week - Which is problematic when you have multiple children in multiple extracurricular activities.
Great teachers, organized program, nice place.
We have two children that have taken piano lessons here for 3+ years and both kids love their instructors. Both have had multiple instructors as they have progressed and have been happy with all instructors. I have seen post complaining about the recital hall being small and the door is in an odd position. Not the fault of the music school and they do great with the space they have to work with. Overall, they truly seem to care about music and teaching it to kids and we have been happy customers since the first day!
I just started taking my 4 year old here for lessons and theyre great and understanding of the age and our good/bad days. My 6 year old will be beginning shortly as well. Very pleased so far.
The owners have a heartfelt story of how they started their teaching piano out of their home and grew it to the size it is today. I see them in the community partnering with the local businesses and schools, and offering their studio for events. And, they have such a fun, modern way to help kids learn to read and play music - ask to see it!
I took lessons and worked at the front desk for several years. I had an amazing experience the whole time. From working at the front I know the owners and teachers are friendly and try their best to make sure everything runs smoothly. After taking voice and piano lessons, I can say that the lessons are high quality and the teachers not only know how to cater the lessons to the student but they also have the background to do their job well. Highly recommended in every way!
I have been so impressed with the teaching as well as owners of East Valley School of Music. I have a little one with sensory issues and music is such a wonderful outlet for her. The owners Mike and Tabitha have been nothing but caring for my family and our needs. I will always refer anyone I know to their school.
I took piano from Mike Kaminski and his wife for about 10 years, and even though I no longer take lessons, I still play the piano and plan on returning to lessons after college. This is the best place to learn, from my experience it wasnt just classical music but often whatever I wanted to learn which ranged from video game music, jazz music, and even orchestral, I even composed a few of my own pieces. My friends tell me Im a very good musician not because I can play amazing but because I understand how music works and can often replicate the feeling the music I hear gives.
I took lessons here for around 7 years from the owners, and it was great! I learned so much and was challenged by my instructor to be the best I could be. I also worked here, and thought the business aspect of this school was great as well. Would recommend to parents trying to enroll their children in lessons due to a positive teaching environment and professionalism of the school :)
We have great experience with the school. Staff members are friendly and our teachers (owners Tabitha and Mike) work diligently with our children to make sure they grow musically. We highly recommend the school.
My son wanted to quit piano until we started going to EVSM. His passion for playing has been rejuvenated, and he has been more excited about the piano than ever. The teachers are incredibly skilled and dedicated. They explain difficult concepts in easy-to-understand ways, having high expectations while also being kind and encouraging. We are so thankful we found EVSM!
It is a great place learn a new instrument or practice and perfect an instrument that you already know how to play and it also good find a good piano at low prices
My son has been learning Piano about 2 years. The experience with EVMS is fantastic. His first piano teacher is Kathy. She is a very kind and experiences teacher know how to teach little kids. Because of her, my son really enjoyed learning piano and music. Within a year, he graduated from little pianist program which normally takes about 1.5 years. After that, he fortunately has EVMSs owners - Mike and Tabltha to be his teachers. I can tell he makes a little progress every single day about his piano skill and more understanding about music. He passed ASP study level 2A with superior honor in April 2019.One suggest I would like to make is that piano is easy musical instrument to start with, but it will be very difficult to graduate. Once a week class is not going to solve all students questions. Practice, practice, and practice is the key to succeed. The most important is that let us enjoy music itself and having fun!
In February/March we signed up our younger son for piano lessons at EVSM and I have to say my wife and I were quite skeptic. He wasnt to enthusiastic about it. Well, I dont know what Mr. M. Parker did to our son, but already after the trial lesson he came out with a big smile and said that we have to get books so he can start practicing.Just past Sunday he had his first recital, that he played perfectly and he got charged up even more.Over all we are very happy to have place in our neighborhood that offers lessons for different musical instruments.
I rent their recital hall for the piano recital. The place and stage were small and they made the entrance door inconveniently. ( the door is right off the stage). The most important thing is that piano was a bad condition.
I was a student of EVSM for almost over 11 years and I couldnt have asked for a better school to grow as a musician and learn with an amazing mentor.
We voiced our complaints about Saturday lessons becoming a craft fair where there is no parking for students and they must walk across the parking lot. The owners asked us to leave. During daughters first recital the owners are eating a sandwich on stage. Tabitha is bitter because she never made it as a performer. Our first instructor was fired and Tabitha sent out a horrible email bashing her. Go elsewhere. This place is run by unprofessional millennials.
They disrespect their employees by firing them for voicing their concerns about having students and teachers in a 8x8 room.
Ms Heidi is the best music teacher! We love Yamaha!
My daughters love this place so much!
Great for Kids
