I organized getting t-shirts from bread & butter for the UNC Womens Club Soccer team for our 7v7 tournament that we unfortunately had to cancel because of Covid-19. Despite this we still decided to buy t-shirts for our alumni and we couldnt have had a better experience. They were flexible during a hard time and the final product was just what we wanted. They helped us come up with a great design that we love and the t-shirt quality is great. Not only this, but they were great at communication and were always happy to answer our questions. Bread & Butter is a great place to have shirts made for any band, club, event, etc. Ive been making shirts for my local band there for several years now. They do excellent screen printing work, always meet your deadline and are very knowledgeable. They can help you make your idea come to life and suggest ways to improve how your design looks on a shirt. We are so lucky to have them in Chapel Hill!

I have done business with Bread n Butter since the 80s. Mel has printed thousands of shirts for at least a half dozen businesses and events. While not always warm and fuzzy, she is very honest and does fantastic work. I have never had a problem with her work.So if you are looking for great artwork and screenprinting, this is the place. If you need a cherry on top, get over yourself!

After Hurricane Dorian devastated Ocracoke Island last fall, I needed a printer to produce “Ocracoke Strong” benefit shirts. Melanie Wall, proprietor of Bread & Butter Screen Printing was the obvious choice. Mel’s been designing and printing for 27 years, and as a part-time island resident, I knew that she had previously produced beautiful shirts for Ocracoke events. Although it was her busy fall season, Mel graciously agreed to help. I am an art director by trade, and Mel collaborated brilliantly on concept and design to produce a high-quality, marketable product. Together, we navigated several challenges including the fact that our award-winning, world-renowned marine science illustrator Val Kells needed her illustration to be meticulously and accurately reproduced on the shirt. Mel worked endless hours and weekends to meet all challenges and deadlines. The final product greatly exceeded my expectations, and the illustrator was ecstatic with Mel’s attention to detail. The shirts were hugely popular, and thanks in large part to Mel and Bread & Butter, the benefit was a total success. We sold hundreds of shirts and raised a total of over $12,000 for Ocracoke relief through the Outer Banks Community Foundation. Thanks, Mel and Bread & Butter Screen Printing!

5/28/14 - I went into Bread and Butter Screenprinting on my way to another meeting simply to ask a few questions. Please keep in mind, my company has purchased T-Shirts (Blue Blood Rivalry T-shirts to promote our film) from this organization previously and I potentially had another large order, but I wanted to discuss the order with their management. I walked into the shop and I was greeted by their manager. He asked if I was soliciting business and then he asked me to leave the store. We have a big promotion coming up that will require us to have T-Shirts and I wanted to know if they wanted to get any corporate branding within our promo. So I was inquiring about T-shirts and I wanted to see if they wanted to play a bigger role in our next promo. I have never ever been treated so rudely in my life. I then proceeded to ask to speak to the owner and she was equally as rude and they didnt even listen to the purpose of my visit. In short, I will never walk into that place again in my life and I will tell everyone not to work with them because they treat customers poorly.Melanie Wall is a liar and I have the receipts to reflect my purchases from Bread and Butter. Perhaps, I will post them next. I just stopped in because I was in the area and I didnt know their policy. However, they could have been nice about how they communicated their policy rather than treat a person with the level of rudeness that they displayed. I go into businesses all the time and I have never been compelled to post a rating until today and this was absolutely the worst experience of my life.

Ive been working with Bread & Butter for the past 8+ years, and I have ordered shirts for a public school student team each year based off of our own student designs. The staff works with the (sometimes crude) drawings our students produce, and make it into a shirt which we are proud to wear year after year.
