Omg all the guys that work there we,re respectful nice and friendly but let me tell u that owner or who ever the one in the office needs retire go home he is really rude and so past retirement. Yelling at my boss on phone then yelling at me in front every one. Plus charged us way over and I mean we got robbed.

Our daughter was in a car wreck and her car was towed here. By the time my husband and I were able to get there it was after hours and the staff were going home, but they opened back up to let us see the car (what was left of it) and grab a few things. Trevor was especially kind and helpful. Thank you!!

Please do not go to this place, save your time, money, and stress. I have gone to this garage 3 times now and cant say I would recommend them.When I first brought the car in, I found myself stranded within the week of getting it back and ended up taking it back to the shop. Thankfully after the second visit my car was completely fix and I was able to drive around as normal.The third time I had it taken in (months after second visit) I was stranded in a parking lot. I called, described my car and gave my information, and said that my car would not start. I was FULLY prepared to pay for towing.I was charged a $85 to have my car jumpstarted when it did not get jumped. When I asked at the time of payment why I was being charged for an unsuccessful jumpstart, I was told I had asked for it when I called them in the first place when my car would not start. I did not, and was fully prepared to have it towed at the time I called. On top of paying for a jumpstart that never happened, I also had to pay $110 for towing. I would have been ok just paying the towing fee, but because the jumpstart was tacked on, I was rather upset.I got my car back Monday, and had to bring it back into the shop within an hour of driving home because my check engine light was on when it wasn’t before. After bringing it back in they did fix it free of charge. It is currently Friday night of the same week, and I am stranded once again, same issue with the vehicle and everything. Several hundred dollars wasted.

Our truck broke down at a stop light and needed a tow. They misdiagnosed the problem initially and replaced the cylinders. We kept trying to ask questions on what was taking so long since they told us our truck should be done by morning but they kept hanging up on us and arguing. Finally when they got back to us they said it was the clutch (our own mechanic said it was the clutch and told them to check the clutch before they started working on anything). We decided to send our own mechanics out to get it and fix it ourselves. We tried to pay with a card or company check (they said this was fine over the phone) and they refused to take anything but cash when we got there (I’m guessing because it’s easier to hide from the IRS). They continued to yell at us and be difficult and would not let us take our truck until we called the police. The police said they have been called to the same location multiple times over the same kind of issues.

STAY AWAY, THEY WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX YOUR TRUCK AND DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO MILK YOU FOR YOUR MONEY. HORRIBLE BUSINESS.

Stay away guys they are over charged me the did a force regen and they charged us $499 it didn’t even fix the problem

Always great service and they do their jobs well! These guys are top notch in the business and you can certainly tell. They have the equipment and experience to do about any wreck you can imagine. No doubt they are the best in the area for sure!

I saw a few negative reviews. BOGUS!!! I have used Bartley twice on some hairy stuff. Trevor (operator) has been EXTREMELY helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and polite. Tow truck companies always get a bad name, but these guys were great! Can’t say enough good about them. They have nice, modern equipment with good operators. If you need pulled out, towed, or service, CALL BARTLEY. They will take care of you. Nothing is free, but to people who appreciate quality service ANYTIME you need it, these are your guys. I hope I don’t have to call them in the future, but if I do, I won’t call anyone else based off my last 2 “hooks”. Great jobs fellas. Much appreciated Trevor!

Called before I went for my Sisters car and did not even help crazy 😒

I got stranded in a parking lot after six pm on a Friday with a car that wouldn’t start. I called 9 different repair places and Bartley Garage was the only one who was both open and willing to come help me. The only other place open on weekends wouldn’t reopen until 8am the next day.Dan jump-started my car and very kindly helped me out after that, I was not prepared to catch an Uber to a hotel for the night. I crossed my fingers and made the two hour drive home that night and thanks to these guys I got home safely. Thanks again Dan, you’re a lifesaver c:

We broke down at the beach in Mattoon Saturday. I called these guys and the driver was very friendly and happy (at least I felt that he was) to interrupt his Saturday to come rescue us. After 25 min or so I temporarily fixed my issue so I could drive my car home. We called to say we didn’t need his tow service and he actually was happy about it. He was not upset at all. We said we would pay an amount he felt was worth his time and trouble to interrupt his Saturday to come to us and he DIDNT want any payment. Today I will be bringing my car to these folks to fix my issue with my shifter. After being treated like this being a total stranger I feel the service will be excellent as a customer. Thank you again for being ready to help last Saturday and not being upset when we called off the tow!

Such great service yesterday!! AAA was going to make me wait 2 hours, so I called Bartley and they were there in 20 minutes! Didn’t catch the guy’s name, but he was super friendly and helpful which made the process a whole lot less stressful. I will only use Bartley Garage from now on! Thanks guys!!!!

Listen, When a place has a low rating, its not just random. The customer service in the place should be enough for you to take your vehicle somewhere else where people car about how they talk to you and you dont have to worry about leaving something as valuable as your vehicle with them. In short, would you let a doctor complete open heart surgery on you and he is demeaning? Condescending? No. Take your freaking car else where. There are many other Garages/Auto Body and such across the nation. Pay for the tow and have a peace of mind.

Got myself stuck in the median with TORN up bumper in the middle of a snow storm. Zach got there as quickly as he could, and did everything he could to get me out, keep me safe, and give me all the information I needed. We have to give men like him more credit, they deserve it. Bob is great! You can call him at anytime and hell come to the rescue! Ive used him many times when I didnt think I had anyone else to help me, he was there! He specialized in Truck Towing and also Heavy Duty truck repair and is very professional and came very quick.

Very well trained in what they do. Its obvious they put a high priority on training. Would not trust anyone else in east central Illinois for my towing and repair needs.

I called to have my car towed and an older gentleman (for lack of better terms) said We only deal with quality work and customers and just hung up the phone on me. I dont recommend their services based off of customer service alone. Period.

The worst place for work would not give me a copy of my bill bcause the company i am lease to paid it out of my Maintenance account told me they had it. A tow off the interstate and labor for repaiers was over $2700.00 when i was told shop rate was $90.00 a hour on the side of road. I will never recommend this place to anyone the guys on the side was nice but Bob the owner has a really bad attitude. STAY AWAY BIG TRUCKS WILL RIP YOU OFF BIG TIME.......

These people are rude and only want your money they do not want to work with you they don’t really want to help you and when I called to speak to someone he proceeded to tell me I don’t know what to tell you we have other calls and hung up on me.

I was scared of the previous reviews but I went in for a overheating problem. Zach and Tolin worked on my car and let me stand with them and watch as the worked on my engine. Got my car fixed good as new and quickly. Thanks Boys!!!

Horrible. Customer service does not exist. They price gouge and do not follow IL law. They lost some of my possessions, I asked about them, very apathetic.

Do NOT use this company. The owner, Bob, is very rude and raised his voice at me when I asked questions. He refused to let me see the charges and refused to take my insurance. Definitely overcharged me.

Over price. Charge me for material, man power and equipment that they didnt used.

I had a unbelievably awful experience there! Most unprofessional and ridiculous customer service I have ever received from a business. The owner was rude and shouted profanities at me because I walked outside the building to find someone that worked there. After screaming at me, he told me he assumed I was there to steal my vehicle (that had been towed there after a wreck). I explained that I was there to give them permission to tow it to a body shop, and that I didnt appreciate being treated like that. He told me to shut up and get the hell off his property. After sharing this experience with friends, Ive discovered that this is pretty typical behavior and that they are notorious for over-charging people. I will never do business with them again.

So my car broke down on the side of the road on a saturday night and i googled and called bartley garage,they came and towed my car and told me they fix cars too so i told them to take it to their shop and have it fixed. i called the first 3 days and was told my car hasnt been checked on the 4th day i called and was told my car is condemned and cant be fixed. now i walk 5miles to the place and pay up for the tow and meet this rude old man who ask me to bring in my title so he disposes it for me.i go home and get a scrap shop who are willing to buy my car.so i go back the next day to get my car to the scrap guy and this old guy claims i have to pay for all the days my car was parked in their garage.now that doesnt make sense cos my car was brought there to get it fixed so why am i paying for it when u just cudnt fix it.they were so rude and racist that the old man told me point blank he wasnt taking a check from me or a credit card and unless i pay up all his scam charges in cash he would give me my car.when i paid cash he had to check it to make sure they were real notes.overall i paid $450 to them for a condemned car .i highly recommend you dont take your car to these guys for your own safety especially Eiu students.

I was originally quoted about $90 for a towing fee (in which they took it all of about 6 blocks), and was told it would be $200 to inspect it if I wanted them to, which I declined. When I went in, they of course charged me the extra $200 anyway. When I came back a day later, they had also added a $160 storage fee for keeping it inside, which was never mentioned before and I did not ask them to do. General consensus for this place seems to be to take your car just about anywhere else.

They are the most rude people ever and wouldn’t help me with a thing. They are just here to take your money.
