Great service! Tracey at the front is super helpful and friendly. I was expecting to have to leave my car for a couple days, but they stayed a little past their normal closing time to get my car finished. Very much appreciated. Everything is fixed and working perfectly. They also took pictures of my tire tread to show me how bad of shape they were in (even though they don’t do tires) I had no idea and got them replaced immediately. I highly recommend them and will definitely be returning next time I need work done on my car.

Torres was recommended to me by the entire Maintenance staff at my apartment complex and glad I listened. Theyve worked on my Ram 1500 and Honda Civic and tell me exactly what the issues are. When I was doing an oil change for my Ram at the Dealer; gave me the inspection report of items I needed done including a transmission leak. Took vehicle to Torres they resolved the issues and informed me that there was no leak to be fix so no work required or performed. Price was reasonable and timely repair. During my next oil change for my truck another courtesy inspection and they said everything was fine. Guessing there wasnt truly a need to fix a leak since this time they didnt find any leaks.

Short story, avoid! Torres installed my clutch incorrectly, wouldnt return phone calls, and refused to reimburse me for the replacement parts.In May 2018 I had Torres install a new clutch in my Nissan 370Z. I dont drive the car very much and put 800 miles on it since May 2019, when the clutch started to make whirring and creaking noises. I dont drive the car hard at all and babied it for the first 500 mile break in period. So I took the car back to them and they referred me to a local transmission shop to take the clutch back out and see what the problem was. The attached pictures are of the pressure plate, clutch disk, and flywheel which were all scored on one side because the clutch was rubbing even when the pedal was pushed in.I contacted the owner of the company I bought the clutch from and sent him back the parts because they were still under warranty. He told me the clutch disk was installed backwards by Torres which caused it to rub the pressure plate and flywheel unevenly and heat up to the point that it damaged both. He replaced the clutch disk for free, was able to machine the flywheel for $50, and had me purchase a new pressure plate for $250.After that I contacted Torres to tell them what the owner said, and they told me the clutch disk only goes in one way (not true) and that it was caused by a machining error at the factory. Then they completely dodged my calls and didnt respond to any emails with the attached pictures I have here.The owner of the clutch company only works on 370Zs and only makes parts for this car. He has over 30 years of experience working with them. So do I believe the owner, who answered every email and call within a half hour and was completely helpful through the entire process? Or do I believe Torres who acted completely shady, wouldnt return calls or emails, and refused to pay for just the $300 I asked for to compensate me for the parts and not even the labor?Now Im stuck with just eating the costs of the initial installation, clutch, new clutch, and new installation. I will absolutely never take my car here again, and make sure no one I know in South Carolina, let alone Charleston, to ever use Torres.Response to Torres:Every time I called it was multiple times and you never once answered an email I sent. So there was no official correspondence between us.I am aware of the start year of my model car. Before that came the 350Z. The owner of the clutch company has been working on the Z line of cars back since they were Datsun. If he didnt stand by his parts he would have made me purchase an entire new kit. Instead he gave me the clutch disk for free and had the flywheel fixed from your damage in one business day. Further, you have no idea how much I spent on that clutch. It was more expensive than an OEM clutch from Nissan. I did my research, nearly every Z owner looking to increase performance for their car uses this company. They also make more than clutch parts which you should have seen if you actually tried to contact the owner like you said. Strange how he answered me immediately for everything but never replied to you. He included pictures he took when he received the parts showing more detailed damage and explaining exactly how it happened as well. Where with you, youre just trying to write it off like a bought a cheap kit from someones garage.And really? The unbiased opinion from the shop YOU referred me to? After they were aware of everything that happened with the clutch? Of course theyre going to back you. If I just wanted money to extort from you I would have demanded that you pay for the initial clutch, your install, the replacement parts, and the reinstall. I never wanted that though. I just wanted the $300 and would move on with it. Clearly you dont stand by your work by your immature post saying I destroyed my clutch, found the cheapest replacement, etc.This is the last you will be hearing from me until a complaint is filed with the BBB.

I really liked this shop. I was impressed while I was waiting how the technicians came in the office to let Ms. Torres(she runs the office) know they completed a car and are starting on the next. The technicians here were very focused on what they were doing and Ms. Torres is very knowledgeable about cars extremely nice to all her customers. A church sister reccomended this shop and I am glad she did.

Simple power steering pump replacement, with some other minor services I wanted done. Young guy installed it, and there is a warning on the pump about flushing the system and vacuuming the air from the system or it will cause failure of the pump and void the warranty. I watched the young man close the hood and asked him if he performed the air bleed. He insisted that all the air came out with the line to the pump, and therefore would be OK. I was skeptical, but alright..... It was not. When the air in the system caused pump cavitation and failed the day afterwards (blowing out the front seal of the pump and spraying fluid everywhere), I returned and spoke with the senior mechanic, who said it was a product failure, not their fault. I have a loud voice, I admit, but was not shouting as I do not treat people like this. My wife was in the car as they looked on. However, the lady came out of her office adjacent to the shop and said I was shouting. Being told that I was shouting when I was not was just icing on the cake, so when I informed her I was not shouting and are they going to hold up the quality of their work, she refused saying it was a product defect. So I went to a real professional shop, who actually had the vacuum tool to perform this warranty-voiding function. They knew exactly what I was talking about, as the pump comes with a QR code to watch a video on the importance of the vacuum bleed. This was never done at the previous shop and they immediately diagnosed that. So I will never use them again, and if you have sensitive work requiring proper installations in order to protect your warranty, or your car safety, then I would not use this place at all. The insult of the accusation of shouting at someone was especially uncalled for. My wife works retail, and I post videos of entitled Karens all the time. I do have a loud voice, but I was certainly not shouting. I totally expect that they will probably delete this, or have something to say to protect their rating (which is what cause me to go there anyways). I am not going to respond to such things.... I am just done.

I had my car removed off this lot prior to any service. Their quote is ridiculous and the lack of professionalism with the lady(wife) of the owner was insufferable. From the time she walked up with a plate full of food to the nasty texts she sent as well as blowing my phone up. Im a nurse and sometimes im away from my phone. She is the most undesirable person Ive ever dealt with. Consumers please beware of this shop. I recommend you seek another mechanic.

Dont ask them if they stand behind their diagnoses. Apparently that is offensive and they will ask you to take your vehicle and leave. I know your first thought is to assume I was rude and something else must have happened to be refused service. No. The first time in my life I have been refused service. As a former business owner of a service related business I would never treat anyone without respect. I was questioned many times about my commitment to customer satisfaction and welcomed the opportunity to tell people how they could expect a different level of service than they may have experienced in the past.I was recommended to this facility by customers who had great service. I will never know.Dont ask questions and you may get to experience great service as well.FYI - I(the customer) called back to apologize for the miscommunication. I was told thank you then politely scolded for questioning their diagnoses. Without a doubt one of the most confusing customer service experiences I have ever had.

Super friendly, helpful, and personable.Now my story, if you care to read....I was brand new in town, I had just moved here. All of my belongings packed in a budget moving truck and my car towed behind it. So here I am, ready to move into my new place. First things first, gotta get my car off the tow dolley. Theres just one problem, my car wont start. Im in a tough situation because I need to return the truck today to avoid a late fee. Im a bit called panicky to say the least. I call the place a few times before they opened, no answer, but thats to be expected from any business. I didnt leave a voicemail because its 2019 and nobody has time for that.I pull up around the corner with the truck and my car behind 10 minutes after they opened and am about to call again. Lo and behold, before I can hit redial on my phone, I get a call from them. Its the receptionist calling me back asking if I needed any help. I explain the situation to her and she was incredibly helpful. Put me on hold for a minute or two while she conferred with her team. They told me to pull up my truck, tow dolley and all. The guys from the service team help me push my car off the tow dolley and roll it into the service bay. They tell me not to worry, theyll take it from here. Im relieved to say the least.I go on about my busy day and return the tow dolley. Its been about an hour and a half and I get a prompt call from the receptionist saying the diagnoses is a broken starter and it should be an easy fix. I finish up unloading the truck and get another call saying my car is all fixed up and ready to go. I drop the truck back off at the budget office and get back to the repair shop. My car is back in action and Im back on the road in a jif.Hats off to the whole shop for going the extra mile and helping me get my car off the tow dolley and into the shop for a quick repair!So long as Im stationed in this area, youve got a customer whenever Ive got some car trouble.

Ive been a delivery driver for over a decade, so Ive been to a lot of shady mechanics and been raped over the coals on some repairs. Needless to say, Im always wary about mechanics. Torres Auto Repair came highly recommended by a lifelong Charlestonian, so I figured Id get a diagnostic on the broken A/C of my 2008 Honda Civic. The woman working the phones and running the office was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. She broke down the process of what they were going to do to identify the issue, how long it would take, and the price range Id be looking at for the labor. It was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend Torres Auto Repair to anyone looking for an honest mechanic shop.

Simply the best ! I was told at the dealer that I needed a 350 dollar tire sensor replacement. I went there and the quoted me a better price. After they inspected my car they found that my spare was low on air and reset the tire pressure light. Cost = $0.00Needless to say they have my business. They replaced a few light bulbs and I bought some new wipers.Thank you

I stumbled into this establishment by default and I must say the customer service was excellent. Not only did he diagnose the problem but gave me plenty of options based upon my finances. After the service was done before the time issued I was called and was offered a pick up if I needed one since I was on vacation. Needless to say before I got back on the road I returned to get other needed repair. The thing I really like was I was called a week later to make sure things was ok.
