Sweet and small bakery/restaurant tucked in the middle of the charming NoDa neighborhood. I got to-go brunch and ate it on a picnic bench outside of the storefront. The eggs Benedict were amazing and everything was super fresh. They have a variety of coffee, sodas, beer, etc to enjoy with your meal. Really sweet staff and nice calm spot.

We are from FL but someone local recommended we stop in Noda for lunch. Local Loaf was great! I had probably the best eggs next to my Great Grandmas I’ve ever eaten. The staff also made some delicious ice cream cookies for our kids. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in Charlotte.

I love supporting local businesses as a NoDa native, and I was so excited to try Local Loaf having driven by here a few times, but my experience here really missed the mark. Came around 2:00pm on Sunday after placing a pickup order online that was timed for after 1:50pm. When I arrived, the doors were locked, no one came to greet us, and there were no signs indicating a pickup spot. I 100% understand being short staffed with the pandemic, but the pickup/order system is something that can easily be solved by communicating with customers. I had to approach a worker for my order (which was already sitting on the counter) when she briefly popped out to give another customer their order. We got two everything bagel B.E.C. sandwiches and neither of us could eat them because the bagels were sadly inedible. They sat in a huge pool of grease, and the bagels themselves tasted as if they were baked days ago and left sitting out the entire time because of how stale and difficult to chew they were. Super disappointed because the rest of the food looks delicious, but we spent $20 on our food and couldn’t even eat it. ☹️

I ate so fast I didn’t even have a chance to get a picture because it was that good! I ordered the chicken and the egg so luckily there is already a pretty good pic of that here. The egg was a little over done and the cheer-wine was amazing but I’d get it on the side next time I order to go because it was a little too much for me. The micro greens were good but a little wilted but the time I got home so definitely to order in. The homemade biscuit & hand breaded fried chicken stole the show. They were a little behind on their online orders so I will be back to eat on site at one of the picnic tables next time.

I stumbled upon this place while flying out of Charlotte a few years ago and it was so good I sought it out specifically the next time I flew out of Charlotte. I had an egg and cheese biscuit and it’s been two years now but I still think about that breakfast sandwich, I just searched through all my google maps history to find the name of this shop because I was thinking about it today and thought if I’m still dreaming about that breakfast sandwich years later I should write a review. They’re great, check them out if you’re in the area.

Local loaf is currently online to go orders only on he weekend (as of Oct 2021). They have several large picnic tables outside to wait or eat at. Its a nice quiet side street in NoDa. We got brunch for 4 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. We got the chicken and waffles, croque madam, breakfast burger, and the chicken and egg biscuit. The chicken tenders and hand made in house, well seasoned, and fried to crispy perfection. The chipotle cheerwine sauce on the chicken and egg biscuit should be bottled and sold (and let me know if/when this happens so I can stock up). You cant go wrong with any of the sides, everything is super fresh.

I’m shocked to read the 1 star reviews. I couldn’t disagree with them more. Let’s starts with the staff. The young lady who helped us was super friendly and accommodating. My sister has dietary restrictions (she a vegetarian). They went out of their way to make her the croquette madam with the ham on the side (for me since I am not a vegetarian). And they even seared the ham for me. Super awesome!I think the food was excellent. Granted, I preferred my sisters croquette madam more than my fried chicken sandwich but that’s not a reflection of the food (the chicken came with a syrup drizzle which was good but not what I wanted on my sandwich). Also, anytime an establishment serves home made freshly made chips, they get a thumbs up in my books.Lastly, let’s talk about price. If you want good, quality, freshly made food, you shouldn’t complain about the price. My sister and I are San Francisco, CA natives so we know all about pricey food woes. In my opinion, the food was reasonably priced and more importantly, delicious! This place is worth it! We’ll be coming back when we get a chance to visit Charlotte again!

I have enjoyed supporting this small business for a few years now. The lobster rolls, broccoli burger, grits, cucumber.and tomato salad, breakfast burrito, and chicken and egg biscuit are always on point. They also have local products to enjoy such as honey, flavored syrups, specialty drinks and gourmet snacks. They adapted well during the pandemic. One of my absolute favorite places in Charlotte and Im blessed to be within walking distance. Since moving to NoDa Ive been working my way through the menu and havent been disappointed (only extremely impressed!). My favorites so far are the Breakfast Burrito and Spanish Migas. Breakfast food is my favorite at all times of the day and Im not sure theres a place in Charlotte that can beat them on quality of what they offer and their prices are exceptionally fair too. Ive been ordering meats and cheeses from them and Id recommend purchasing from them instead of the grocery store. Finally, the staff are great and so friendly - literally knew my name after the second visit.

The food was unique and a nice change of pace for breakfast. My wife got the Monte Cristo which is very good tasting (see picture). Her dish was supposed to come with cinnamon fried ice cream, but they were out and hadnt changed the menu yet, so that was a bit disappointing. I got the chicken and the egg which was overall very good. The chicken was excellent, and so was the sauce, but the biscuit was dry, and the egg was tasteless. As stated, a nice change of pace, but I wouldnt spend $22 here again for breakfast. Also, they dont provide free tap water, only bottle water which added $2 to our tab.
