The young man Michael was the best part of my visit. I couldnt find some of the items I was looking for so I was just a little irritated but then I get to the checkout and Michael was bagging my groceries...a couple hundred dollar worth so it was quite a lot he was handling. My arm was in a sling and he offered to help load my car (Ive had to ask everywhere else!) and he was the most polite, helpful and friendly person Ive come across in a long time! What a breath of fresh air. Thank you!

This is a great location overall. It has a large, easily accessible parking lot, a great produce section, as well as great baked goods. The supermarket was extremely clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable.

Overall, I love food city. But the one one Signal Mountain Blvd. needs some serious attention. It smells SO BAD in there, that when I came back to the car, my husband had to roll the windows down on the drive home. They NEVER have what I’m looking for, even though all of the other food city’s in the area stock those items. Somebody please just give that store some love and make it better…it’s the closest one to my house lol. Please and thank you.

Have been shopping at this location for 40 or more years. The current Food City is clean and well stocked with a good variety. Checkers are courteous and efficient. Prices are higher than the nearby Walmart or Aldies, but you pay for convince . Several times their registers have not had the sale prices programmed in correctly, which results in wasted time you have to show the sales price from the advert. to the cashier. They have a high turnover in personnel which tells you something. But I have the most problems with help at the deli. Been given spoiled meat sliced by the deli, (so now I always insist that they open a fresh package before slicing). When ordering boxes of dark meat fried chicken (they have great fried chicken at a good price) I had to explain which parts of a chicken were considered the dark meat. Three times in the same number of years, they have not had my order of chicken ready ( I order 3 or 4 boxes at a time for parties). Once the order was completely overlooked. The most recent time, I made my order the day before, called a second time a few hours before pick-up and I still had to wait 25 minutes. The cook seemed completely unconcerned about the wait.BTW, the FoodCity on Dayton Blvd. is better, new and bigger and has a pharmacy with great prices and customer service.

I like this store. Its convenient and Im always greeted by an employee when i walk in and through the store. Their produce is always fresh and they highlight whats on sale.

I have always disliked grocery shopping so with Covid and curbside I have become spoiled. As my family fights covid again Kelly went above and beyond and combined my two orders (my next morning oops I forgot things) and ready earlier than expected and wonderful contactless trunk pick up. Thank you Kelly!

Clean, organized, and plenty of stuff. Similar to Krogers. The thunderstorms when the produce gets watered is cute.

Love the employees here, always sweet and polite. However, the entryway smells SO bad like rotting feet, I avoid coming here unless I have to. I always hold my breath walking inside, only because it has been like this for months (and getting increasingly worse). I am not the only one who notices, i hear other customers commenting on it all the time.

Food city is a great place to shop. Great verity on products. Produce has the biggest selections. Fresh baked bread & cakes. Love shopping here.oh yeah,has a in house butcher,get your meats cut the way you want.

Weight shop at food City on signal mountain highway we always are greeted with a smile we speak to people and they speak back they are very friendly and we enjoy the prices and the savings at that store

Just a regular grocery store. The hot food bar is not all that great. Small selection of hot food that has been sitting there all day long drying up. Hasnt been stirred just sitting there for the next victim.

Its usually very clean and customer service is pretty good

Very convenient location, has many produce items to choose from, also was very gracious to replace our melon that was rotten on the inside. Everyone is helpful and friendly.

The florist was so much help today. I really appreciate that someone was available to provide help.

Food City has the best selection of gluten-free products Ive been able to find anywhere in Tennessee or Alabama. They also have the best prices I can find on these items, including online stores. With a 19-year-old athlete who needs these things in the family, this is a big deal.

I mean, they have groceries. The store is a little pricey in my opinion, but I’m really not sure what I expected. I suppose it is signal mountain. I went to food city to buy flowers once and the sunflowers were covered in mold. There was a woman actively working the flower area. Imagine what sanitary mishaps may be occurring in less supervised areas. Call me a germaphobe, but no thank you.

Dairy manager is the best! He will order special items for his customers! Fantastic!

Needed some soy sauce, hot sauce and some veggies for a baked recipe. They even had pre chopped veggies for baking.

Not as great as its predecessors, yet still a most viable option to nearby Walmart.

Nice and clean store well stocked, very nice employees. Dont care for food city rotisserie chickens. I bought one before and didnt like it, I thought maybe it was just the chicken I bought wasnt good, so I tried it again today. I just dont like their recipe I guess. I definitely dont reccomend the rotisserie chicken. Everything else was great.

Prices are a little high, but they typically carry what I am needing, almost every time. Friendly & courteous staff most of the time.

The store is always clean, the employees are very friendly. They have a good variety of items in all departments, including their own brand. They carry items I dont see in other stores, certainly not Walmart. Their deli, store made food, is great. They make REALLY good fried chicken!

I give one star because, I have been in this store many times. I felt the cashier really didnt want to deal with another customer. You would have thought I ran over her dog. Her name started with a D....... she wore a name tag necklace. I feel like next time I go shopping, I will go elsewhere because of the negative experience i received this time. I dont really give bad feedback. I just dont like the cold feel I received here from this cashier when I went this particular time. She was rude and unprofessional and not what I thought food city stood for. She also THREW the groceries down the cash register to the bagger because her attitude was so disrespectful and childish. This was around 7:30pm on Friday, October 30th. 2020.

Y favorite food city

The experiences I have at this food city location in particular have prompted me to stop supporting the grocery chain all together. Consistently horrible customer service, especially from the evening managers, not to mention that I have to constantly fight for them to honor the shelf advertised discounts.

My wife and I just moved here and this is the closest grocery store to us. I will never go back. The deli was disgusting and there was only one worker back there cleaning stuff and she didn’t even say a word to me. Just kept staring at me and taking her sweet time walking back and forth to things. She finally helps me and just said she had to get that done, which I understand, but there could of be a simple “I’ll be with you in just a minute” and if she hurried then this would of been a better experience. I’m sure the rest of the store and staff are great, but it was a terrible first impression and I will not be going back.

Dont waste your time, just go to the one on Dayton Blvd.

First time shopping here today, and was really impressed with the look, layout and selections available. Very comfortable experience and friendly staff.

Had a very unpleasant experience recently. No cashier at open register, several staff just looked at me standing there without acknowledging me, or the customer behind me. Finally, after about 5 minutes, an exasperated employee came out of the office and rang up my groceries.This is not my typical experience here. I hope it is the only negative one I report.

Its the grocery store, I prefer it over Walmart. Less crowds, less waiting to check out, when I use self check out it doesnt seem like its designed to slow you down.

Not our usual grocery store. Ive had issues with my receipt on 5 for 20 or 5 for 8 deals. And they dont fix it over the phone. You really have to check the meat before purchasing, and the produce is just okay. Doesnt feel very clean and dont typically have what Im looking for. It will do in a pinch, however the food city off Dayton Blvd is much cleaner with a wider selection.

Just go to Aldi across the street.

Very conveniently located, bit on the high side of the price ranges but we match any advertised prices.

Today an elderly gentleman fell down in the parking lot, The store manager was fast in calling emergency services and the staff brought out water bottles and towels. This food city is the closest to my house but anytime we get cheese or juice from the produce area it was already expired/moldy.

It was much better when it was Bi Lo. Food City try hard but they have pretty much made it into a grocery store of last resort instead of the first choice to shop in the area. Its always strangely empty on Saturday mornings, which should be the busiest time of the week. They usually only have 1 or 2 cash register lines open at any time, and the staff stand around looking bored. I think its days are numbered and Food City will close it down soon. Its got to be losing money for them.

The rotisserie chicken looks great! Only $5.99 and they have it in lemon pepper.No Reeses peanut butter eggs for Easter though, so I have to dock them a star. oh well.

I order fruit baskets for my company all the time. I have to say that Dwayne from Produce does a fantastic job. Meets all my requests and always does an outstanding job. Hes friendly on the phone and in person and is always willing to help and come up with solutions when Im stuck in deciding what needs to go in the basket. Thank you Dwayne!

Doesnt seem to carry as much as the location on Dayton Blvd and have what feels like tighter aisles, but its usually a little less congested overall. We tend to only go for the sales, and then some stuff on ibotta. Cashiers have always been friendly. I like this location because its easier to get in and out.

The staff is really friendly there. And the lunch from the deli was great.

Great people, great selection, decently fast. Had an issue when my credit card was declined (security hold, quickly resolved later), felt embarrassed and told them Id be back. Didnt expect them to still have my food bagged and ready for me, but when I came back with cash 15 min. later they were ready for me with the food still bagged and no judgement... didnt expect that.

Love the value card discounts and the large variety of product brands that the store carries.
