When Petro bought out AtlasGlenmore, their service was so much worse than AGM. I was an AGM customer for over a decade and really appreciated the local feel of the company and help that was given. Once Petro came into the picture, service went down hill fast, cost went up, and the over customer experience was very poor. I strongly recommend going with Falconi as a better provider.
If I could rate lower, I would. I purchased my home in 2016, this company had already been assigned to me to deliver oil. The first year was fine, they delivered ($400) each time for delivery. As the winter months went on, I couldnt keep up with paying the $400 they wanted right away or I wouldnt get next delivery. I called and spoke to many people at this company, who never once mentioned a payment plan to me, expected the money upfront. I would pay $100, $150 at times. they told me that was not good enough. I had put in a delivery request because I was low on oil and in the winter time, they told me it would be 24-48 hours . From not receiving oil, I called company and who ever I spoke to never put in the delivery!I then cancelled my services with them, and found a new company, with a budget plan that works for me, and are much more pleasant & helpful to speak to. Since canceling, I have received letters in the mail offering me low rates, and of course even payment plans( never once offered that to me before) I still had a balance with them, in which they sent a lawyer after me.(not like I wasnt trying to pay off the balance or anything) I would never refer anyone to this company, and even a co worker of mine had them and switched, cant imagine why?!?!?!
Central air installation from scratch at my house. VERY happy with the crew- they were informative, got clearance for vent/duct/equipment locations, explained ongoing maintenance, and were very friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.
The men who did the job explained exactly what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. They were professional and very pleasant. They did a fabulous job and cleaned up every bit of dirt. I would recommend Petro in a heartbeat to anyone looking for heat installation. These people are pros in their work ethics as well as their customer satisfaction!
Beware! Do not have a contract with them, it will be a nightmare! I was with them for 2 years, but when realized that every company around was charging $1.05 per gallon and I was being charged by Petro $2.89 per gallon, I called to talk to them about it, and to ask them to consider charging the current price of oil. They said that they couldnt do anything. I paid my balance and cancelled the service. 3 days later, another charge on my checking account, for a few more gallons delivered at a ripping off price. There are many respectful companies around, Ive never had such a bad experience with any.
We recently changed from oil to gas. We also added central air. Both my husband and I were super impressed with the crew Petro sent out. They were professional and extremely efficient. We would highly recommend using Petro for any updates or changes you need to make with your heating system.
This has been a really great experience so far. I switched from another company (a really bad one) to Petro in January. They have been so responsive. I called for service problem at 9 p.m. and they came fixed it at 10:15 p.m. Thats amazing. And this may be totally psychological, but I feel oil I got from Petro lasts longer compared with the other companies, too.

First cold snap of the year and of course it happened, NO HEAT!I called Petro and they said they would get to me within a few hours.Lo and behold, the gentleman arrived in less than one hour, diagnosed and resolved the issue in less than 10 minutes!Thats what I call great service!
My experience with Petro has been absolutely fantastic! The women that answer the phones, Deb etc., are funny, pro, and down to earth. They giveme service the next day, come when they say, in a short window of time.Clint was not the usual tech from my area, just there to help cover that day,and he remembered me from a previous job company. Fixed the problemquickly and explained what I should do in the future!!! The best!!! No hidden charges!!!
The service techs came early and stayed late to install my new ductless air system. It was a hard job and they worked tirelessly for almost ten hours, without complaint. They were friendly and informative. I highly recommend Petro, and especially Kevin and Ron for their professionalism and efficiency.

Signed up for a service contract and automatic delivery in September. The boiler service went well and recieved our first delivery Sept. 9th. Fast forward to December 18th we realized we had not had a delivery despite being on auto delivery and were out of oil. Called customer service and was told delivery would be out the next day and to call in the morning for a time. Called in the morning as directed and greeted by a customer service associate with nasty attitude who refused to provide a time and stated if it dosent happen today it will be tommorow. As I explained we are on automatic delivery and we are out of oil and they are the ones that are supose to make sure we have oil, thats the point of automatic delivery, and its 24 degrees out the woman began to speak louder and yell over me stating what do you want me to tell you well be there today and then not show up. Absolute horrific customer service, obviously cant manage auto fills, STAY CLEAR

After waking up to find that our oil tank was leaking, Petro Home Services sent a technician quickly. He assessed the situation, stopped the leak and started the process to get a new oil tank delivered. Very professional and everything was done quickly and efficiently.
I had Petro install a brand new $13,000 whole house heating system only 4 years ago. The hot water tank burst and flooded my entire basement destroying many items we had stored away. The hot water tank is still under warranty, however, Petro is charging us more than $1000 in labor to replace it. Outrageous.
Rob the Tech came out within an hour from across the state and did a great job with a tough repair in a short period of time.
A wonderful company, with professional and courteous installers. Given the pandemic, it was comforting to see the team in masks & gloves. Oh and the AC system they installed in our upstairs is keeping us nice and cool already!!

Petro has always been there when I needed them and my recent experience was no exception. The customer service line is always patient and thorough in getting the details of my issues and the service men diagnose problems quickly and fix them quickly. I have never waited more than a couple hours for them to arrive. They are thoughtful cleaning up behind themselves and especially in these Covid times take the precautions that made me feel comfortable with them in my home.

My service technician, Ronnie was great! He was prompt and courteous. He worked diligently and thoroughly. He even discovered a pre-existing issue, most likely made by a previous service technician from another company, and fixed it. Very reliable...they are very neat when servicing your burner and are quick to vacuum up any debris left behind.....I would give five stars but thats reserved for those very special circumstances but I feel that they provide a solid service...Keep in mind that you may wait a bit in the winter time if you are calling them...the winter is obviously their busiest time..moving forward it would be nice if you can leave a call back number for those longer than usual wait times..

I have been a loyal customer since 2006. Overall their service has been good. The representatives on the phone do try to help, but often seem to give poor advice. Now that I am converting to natural gas, my experience has changed. They dont care about any concerns that I have addressed. I have been harassed for months despite my requests to refrain from calling me. Perhaps there is no leadership? Not sure. I can no longer recommend this company for anything. They have ignored repeated requests for follow-up.
I am always impressed with the level of service we get from PHS. Their on-call professionals always show up on time, and prepared to complete the job. Recently, we had a failed component on our heating system. Scott showed up with mask and booties after an extensive interview by the dispatcher to insure that there was no COVID-19 in the house that may have potentially been a problem. The work was done quickly and the heating system was put back in working condition. I spend plenty of online review time critiquing when it is called for. In this case, I felt it would be beneficial for the review reader to gain an understanding of the professional quality of service we experienced from this contractor.
Very quick service within an hour after I called. The technician was very through, spent 2+ hours to fix all problems. The best part is no charge fully covered by the service contract.
He came quickly, and worked until my problem was fixed and my heat was back on. He was also very professional and polite.

Unfortunately, I am a tenant and not the person who holds the account, otherwise I would dump this company in a heartbeat. We haven’t had heat for two days and they now tell me it’s going to be two more days before they can even tell me if they can get the part needed to fix it. Phone call after phone call I have been lied to, being told over and over that someone was going to come fix it in the next hour. It would take too long to explain everything that has happened but take it from me. Run for the hills away from this company.UPDATE:2 technicians came back today and fixed. They were knowledgeable and gave me very clear information about what was wrong and what needs to happen. The technicians are great guys but the customer service department is still a nightmare. Still can’t increase my rating because it shouldn’t take a 1 Star review to get someone who knows what they are doing to fix your problem.Advice to management: your technicians are good, but they can’t do their jobs unless the customer service and dispatch do their jobs correctly. It’s not fair to them to have to deal with the irate customers who are angry because of your incompetence.
Petro Home Services was contracted to perform an annual visual inspection of three furnaces, three hot water heaters and the gas lines in our multi-family and to make repair recommendations if necessary, to ensure that these three systems were operating efficiently and safely. After several hours, the technician from Petro Home Services indicated that everything was fine with the furnaces, but he did express concern at his discovery of some mortar and wooden laths at the base of our chimney. This same technician from Petro Home Services then recommended that I follow up his visit by contacting a chimney sweep to perform an inspection of our chimney. Luckily, I secured the services of that chimney sweep that very afternoon. I greeted the chimney sweep at our front door and while I ushered him downstairs to the cellar, I happened to mention that our heating system had just been inspected by this technician from Petro Home Services only hours before and that he had given us his assurance that everything was fine and perfectly safe. However, within minutes of entering our cellar, the chimney sweep was able to point his flashlight at a section of the flue that connected one of the furnaces to our chimney that was clearly severed. As such, this breach in the flue represented a potential health hazard that would have gone unchecked until next year when we again underwent our annual inspection. This breach in our heating system could have potentially impacted our safety and health, as well as that of our tenants who rely on us, their landlords, to provide a safe and healthy environment. When I discovered this, I immediately tried to call Petro Home Services to lodge my complaint but their phone lines were malfunctioning. It wasnt until my third attempt at a phone call that I was able to connect with a representative from Petro Home Services. I spoke with their field service supervisor, offered to email him photos I had taken of the severed flue and asked what he and Petro Home Services intended to do about this breach of trust that I experienced as a result their perfunctory and lackadaisical inspection. The field service supervisor indicated that it was not his responsibility as Petro Home Services had been sub-contracted by another company and that I should contact that other company to resolve any complaints I might have. Petro Home Services was unwilling to stand by their work- albeit inferior work- performed by their own contractor, and forced me the consumer to pursue any remediation elsewhere, and on my time. I contract for home service safety inspections to provide peace of mind! If you care about the safety of your home, I would strongly urge you to avoid Petro Home Services at all cost! Postscript: The owner of Petro Home Services did call me today to apologize and to try to make this situation right. I respect him for taking the time to reach out and contact me and based on the tone of our conversation, I do believe he will follow up with my recommendation to speak to his employees to ensure that situations like this do not occur in the future.
Great Service, minor leak on my Roth Oil Tank, Petro service Tech came out same day to do both a tune up on my oil burner, and to make sure my tank is ready for an oil delivery. Highly recommend Petro Home Services.
If I could give them zero starts I would. Over priced oil, you never pay market price. The company lied about the renewal agreement fee even after I specifically asked them about it over the phone (charged me $360 ). I Have been a customer for three years, not anymore after my agreement is done. STAY AWAY from this company.

For the past few years I have engaged the services of Petro Home for both A/C and heating contracts and maintenance. The best decision I could have made. Most recently had 3 visits to diagnose an AC issue..the third tech actually was sent out on Sunday...after hours of troubleshooting with long hours (one visit started early afternoon and the tech stayed until 730!!!) then Sunday, miracles!!! I will highly recommend!!
If there was a way to give 0 stars i would.First time customer looking to get a reliable company to do maintenance and take a look at my gas boiler before the winter.Set appointment 10 days ago, given a appointment window of 12-4.... By 430 I called to see what was going on. I was told the person was still on a call and that they would be to my house definitely by 6pm.... 615 I have to call again, and theyre now telling me 8pm they would be there by!I asked to reschedule to another day this week seeing how I waited over 6 hours at my house for the appointment, and I was told no date available until October 4....What a joke. Horrendous
Petro installed new Propane conversion system this week. Technicians were precise, clean and knowledgable. System is on and functioning as expected.
Awful experience. We are on auto pay and auto fill but here we stand during the coldest stretch in decades with an empty oil tank. This was entirely controllable. After 73 minutes on hold at 440AM, we were told that it has been six weeks since our last fill and that there is an outstanding ticket out for delivery. However, they will make no commitment to when it will come. Maybe tomorrow or the next day. It is 47 in my toddlers bedroom. At this point we have no faith or trust in this company and will be shopping around for a good local provider who cares about us as a customer. The recommendation was to go out and pour 10 gallons of diesel into the tank. While that works, that is not what we are paying a service contract for. Go local.

Been with your company since the late 1950s when it was Glen-Mor then Atlas Glen Mor then Whaleco. The staff are great always here when needed. They will return Monday to replace my hot water storage tank.
This place is unethical. They auto enrolled me for annual service after a plumbing job and never told me they were doing that. And I did not want it. They ultimately removed the charge, but I just dont feel they are upfront in general. The plumbers themselves were skilled and do good work, however the sales people and billing department is not to be trusted.
AVOID AVOID AVOID - SCAM ARTISTSThis company is about as dishonest as they come. They continually deliver oil at the peak prices and refuse to give me any sort of warning. I will be contacting BBB and possibly taking them to small claims. They charge, on average, $1.50 per gallon MORE than the local cash delivery place. This is a TERRIBLE business. Avoid at all costs.
If you like bait and switch, gouging, dishonest, disreputable companies then these guys are for you. Pay market prices the first couple of deliveries, then hold on to your hat because you are going to be taken for a ride baby!Call them to complain and listen to their snickering back handed insults as they methodically recite the contract to you and tell you to read the state website on oil company pricing.No really these guys are upstanding, honest and filled with integrity. Pffft! Ha just kidding they are embarrassingly childiish.

In the conversion of Atlas Glen to Petro. I received NO notification of changes of business or business name. My online account was cancelled, again no notification. But I did get was 200 gallons of oil at almost at $5.00. again NO notification or choice. Their response, I have an automatic delivery account & I had never made a formal yearly commit for price protection services. The yearly service plans that I have purchased for the last six years, it no commitment to them. To add, Each time I have purchased these yearly service plans, for no additional cost I could have had price protection, but apparently I never requested it. So they thought I did not need or want it. Lesson learned..Thank you Petro. I am committed to never do business with company again and they will to be reported to BBB.

After changing billing systems twice in 4 years and losing my payment and login information both times without any notification, I am now moving houses and they cant even close my account over the phone. Terrible customer service every time Ive interacted with them. Avoid.

My grandmother woke up in the middle of February with no heat because Petro skipped their scheduled delivery without notification of any sort. She called them and they refused to deliver that day because she wanted to pay by check. I had to call and pay by card up front to get them to come deliver.Petro didnt care that this was dangerous and negligent or that my grandmother had been a customer for almost 40 years. It is a slimy, unethical company.
Called Monday around 8am. The technician was here by 10.30am. Problem fixed before noon, which included having to leave to get a part!

Petro Home Services, formerly Atlas Glen Mor, are absolutely terrible. Their prices are not competitive and their service is hands down the worst. I finally decided to cancel after I tried to schedule an appointment for a technician to come back to look at replacing electric heating in 3 bedrooms. I spent 20 mins on hold before someone picked up. They then told me they would call me back to schedule the appointment. No one ever did. I called back the next day only to be put on hold for another 25 mins. I hung up and called back to cancel the service. I was put on hold for 20 mins after I told them I wanted to cancel my service. Finally was able to cancel after I demanded to speak with an unapologetic supervisor who couldnt even feign concern about losing a customer due to incompetency.This company should be put out of business. There are so many other competitors out there, dont waste your time.
Called more than 24 hours ago for service-- no heat on a 1 Degree Fahrenheit morning. Waited on phone over 21 minutes for a response. Its now been 24 hours and no serviceperson has shown up yet. Boiler and pipes in danger of freezing. Never, ever returning to these people for anything.
Stay away! This company tries to lock you into a contract and makes it looks like youre saving money. If you agree to it verbally, they consider it binding even if its a day later. And if you try to get out of it, they want to change a $300+ fee to get out of it. Staff is rude and unreasonable. My partner agreed to a contract verbally without asking me and this company wont even let us get out of the contract. There are many great local companies in the North Shore that have better rates and have staff that actually have resonable policies.
