Today was my first time going into this store. What a great experience! I need to go back and really take time to explore all the beautiful merchandise the owner has in his store.

Absolutely fantastic! Each item deserves to be spotlighted with its own story as every single piece was delightfully exquisite. Definitely one of Chicago’s best antique shops.

What a great place! So well curated and so many pieces in such a compact space. John, the owner, has an amazing eye for detail and knows the story on virtually everything in his shop! Check it out! A mid century treasure trove for accessories and objet.

I never leave reviews but I simply need to rave about my wonderful experience at The Penthouse today! John, the owner, is so warm and lovely and full of wonderful knowledge and stories. There is something for absolutely everyone at The Penthouse — I walked away with two fantastic, reasonably priced purchases, including a vintage Texasware bowl which is something I’ve been hoping to stumble upon for a while. This store is a true Chicago gem!

This store reminds me of the grotto of beautiful treasure in “The Little Mermaid.” Really, go there & you can understand why the little mermaid sings to her forks—the stuff in there is gorgeous. High end pieces, prices run the gamut, but a person can find a great deal if they look. & there’s lots to look at. The owner, even in the amount time I spoke with him, seemed genuinely kind and was a wealth of knowledge.

Beautiful merchandise. Warm, friendly and attentive service. The owner has a passion for his collection and provides history and background on the pieces. He spent a great deal of time with me, as I searched for some jewelry for an occasion. I highly recommend this store for interesting and fun merchandise and great service.

This place is FULL of some of the most gorgeous jewelry and decor I’ve ever seen. The owner is genuine and friendly. I only stopped in for a minute or two, but you could spend HOURS in that store and not see everything. There is a good range of prices and the quality and condition of the items is superb. I’ll definitely be back.

Great shop and the owner, John, is so so kind and friendly and just a sweetheart. Hes not pushy and his shop is stocked with the most amazing finds. Def go there!!

So much to see, a treasure trove of fab! Very clean and orderly, beautiful presentation of the jewelry in the show cases.

The items here a gorgeous! The behavior of the man in the shop, however, was the opposite. He was very unfriendly and rude. He didn’t engage, he wasn’t helpful, and when I was shazaming the song playing, he tried to hassle me for taking a picture (which I did not). Also prices were very high, even for the merchandise in question. I’d be more accepting of that, however, if the staff wasn’t worse than a Walmart worker. Do better, penthouse, or leave.

Really cool unusual things. This is not mass produced stuff! Some things were a bit high priced but totally worth it
