Brought a product from them. I couldn’t get it to work. Drove back to there location to get help on how to make it work. Customer service horrible, they offer to have a tech to come to my home at a cost. Refuse to look at the product. spend your money with them then they forget you did business with them, treat you like a stranger in the street. This is not the first time this happen to me but it will be the last. Money wasted down the drain twice.
What ever happened to Professionalism and Principles.I called to confirm an item is available and obtained a price over the phone. When I showed up the Female Cashier claimed the price is 20% more then quoted on the phone. I asked why the price changed, she stated its an online price, which does not exist. The item is not listed online. I called the store in Morton Grove, a store I frequent often and was told the price quoted over the phone was accurate. When I called the Fullerton store the Male Employee was very unprofessional and hung on me three times, and also would not give me the Managers name or the Female Cashiers name. I spent lots of $$$ at the Morton Grove location. I will avoid this location as well as the Morton Grove store. You lost a long term Customer. Teach your Employees Integrity and to behave Professionally. You lost a Long Term Customer.
I have been working with Perry and the U-Spy Store for years. Ive found them to be highly professional and a great value. Theyve installed security cameras on my income property, my business, and my home. On the rare occasion that a camera had a problem, they were very responsive to my request or assistance.Their installers are top notch technicians who are courteous, efficient with their time, and all around professionals. I highly recommend U-Spy to any individual or business with security needs!
Mr. Perry, the store owner, accused me of being a BOT and a competitor writing a bad review rather than addressing their poor business practices. I DO NOT recommend doing business with the U-Spy Stores (There are two locations; Chicago and Morton Grove).The stores’ customer service is POOR, which unfortunately also did not serve my mother well, she hears and understands English well, but struggles with communicating herself in English. She spent over $5,000 with the company. From the moment they came and installed the cameras, they did not set up the cameras correctly, leaving one opened (CCTV camera) and did not give my mother any guide books of any information or how to even install the app to watch the cameras from her phone. It’s the stores’ responsibility as a business to provide the customer with the appropriate resources to understand, manage, and maintain a consumer product. That is YOUR job as a business to your customer to make sure they have what they need and know what they need for the product. Additionally, they gave my mom a refurbished (when it was purchased as “New”) NVR (recording box) it was dented and old (which other reviews also highlight this issue) and when my mom tried to contact them, whoever had answered was rude and upset my mom because she felt she was taken advantage of, they told her they couldn’t help her and hung up.I was out of town when my mom had the cameras installed, so unfortunately I couldn’t be there to help communicate, coordinate, understand the system, ask the appropriate questions when the item was purchased or installed, etc.When I called both locations, they both gave me two different prices ($100-200) to help me install the app on my moms’ phone and they told me that they needed to change the WiFi information, which would be ANOTHER ‘hidden’ fee. When I came to the Chicago location with my mother and explained to them the situation and that we wanted an apology, Perry was sarcastic and blamed the dented NVR box on us even though it had JUST been installed and he stated that they do not give their customers any guidelines/manuals on how to use the cameras/app and wanted to charge us for ANY assistance with the cameras and software, it should have been included because of how expensive they are. That is one thing they did NOT state to my mom from the beginning, she thought she would receive a manual when having her $5,000 cameras installed. Perry said No, they make their money based on repairing any technical issues. If this is their profit barer, then why are the cameras so expensive and don’t come with any manuals for a customer to understand this product they are buying, nor any included maintenance visits, or anything? Perry ran a diagnostic test on the NVR box and told me that it was an issue with my WiFi.Additionally, they did not advise my mom that the expensive cameras did not come with audio. She had to pay an additional amount to get that installed PER camera out of four.Perry proceeded to say that it’s not legal for audio to be included with the cameras. But the fact is that they NEED to advise their customers what is and isn’t included when selling cameras, which again should be in manuals or info pamphlets with every product. I had to play phone tag with Perry and eventually, he helped me remotely from my computer with the WiFi settings. I told him that with the emotional distress and unexpected financial position these extra fees had further burdened us if he would exchange the WiFi update for not giving us a new NVR box. U-Spy Store-Chicago provided bad customer service since day one. The owner takes no responsibility and only sees customers as a transaction number, neglecting to inform customers of additional fees that accompany the product as part of their maintenance/upkeep requirements. I wish I could have helped my mom from losing over five-grand with this store.
I also don’t recommend. There was a worker there whom voiced her concerns about my mask. It was a bit lower than recommended. But the whole time she seemed as though she was uncomfortable with me. I choose to stay at least six feet away from her while in the store since we were following health guide lines and I also chose not to take anything from her directly since I hadn’t known when was the last time she cleaned her hands but honestly I feel like if someone with the same skin tone as her would’ve been treated better 🤷🏽♀️

Awesome little shop. They have a wide variety of spy gadgets along with security cameras for your home. They have taken extra precautions due to covid too, which I appreciate, def check them out if youre in the area.
Many good items, at the price they should be. Anyone whos complaining about 20-30 more expensive than ebay is buying knockoffs. This wont fail you in a week, like most ebay items. Great customer service, very polite employees too!
I bought a GPS tracker from here and it works great! They don’t help you set the tracker up but they did explain what I needed to do to get that done and were nice about it. Thanks for the help!
I came in today and spend a good amount of money with them over . The problem I had was it seemed as the lady working didnt want to be bothered. Everytime we asked a questioned regarding a product her answer was I dont know. She wasnt able to answer not one single questioned. At one point we ask if there was any examples of how the product worked she turned to her computer and said my computer is slow today so not really. She sold me memory cards that once I got home my product did not need. Also with the cube camera I asked if there was anything to attach it to like a keychain, Her answer was I dont know what people do with them. Once Home all that was included in the box. This experience would have been a lot better had someone shown interest in helping us understand the product we are buying and if they atleast had knowledge of what they are selling. She did not leave the spot she was stading in the entire time we were in the store. The products seem to work well. I have mixed feeling about shopping here again.

I ordered a camera/clock radio which was received defective as it came without the on/off switch. Long story short, this company proceeded to send me a refurbished item which was missing screws, falling apart and completely defective. The item was not in an even remotely new condition. Upon contacting them and providing ample documentation of the defect immediately upon opening the box, this company proceeded to accuse me of tampering with the item and causing the damage myself. There is no way a screw completely comes out, rips through a QC sticker and falls out of 2 completely sealed boxes as shown in the photos. Also, brand new items do not come with QC labels, especially ones that are torn. This company is a complete scam; dont waste your time or money.Side Note: When fighting me through the BBB, they provided photos of an item with a completely different serial number and QC stickers stating that I must of bought the same product from another company and am trying to return that one to them. Their responses were incredibly outlandish and the owner has absolutely no compassion for others. I have never had a worse customer service experience in my entire life.
This is a great store!!! I love the convenience, the service and the employees. You should really invest in a security camera for your home!
I work in property management and recently was in need of major help getting my security system back up and running. I call these guys and not only were they fast but extremely knowledgeable. They solved my problem and left me happy. I notice a problem with a CPU powering on and off at another location about a week later so I thought I would give U-Spy a try again and once again they knocked it out of the park. James went above and beyond to not only make sure everything was working but also break down what caused the problem and the most economical way to fix it. And did it all in about an hour. Ordered video surveillance from them. Great customer service. 2 years warranty. Installer was very professional and patient with my and my wife explaining us how everything works. Highly recommend.

Over priced cameras, the sales agent was very nonchalant and doesnt seem to be knowledgeable about their products. It was a very scary experience, and Im still in need of camera equipment smh.

They quoted me 149$ for a roll of RG 59... I THOUGHT THE TRIANGLE CAMERA STORE ON LAWRENCE WAS EXPENSIVE AT 79$ a box... Hell im gonna start selling this cable for 69$ on craigs list cause im up the street and usually have it for my installs... What a rip off. Microcenter sells the spy stuff they sell for a third as well.. You need lock pick tools ill start selling those too.. What a jip!

This place is a scam, dont trust, they dont back up their equipment, they charge a lot for their cameras and they are cheap cameras, my first camera was waterlogged after just one year, Emil scammed me into buying a replacement camera for cost, which was a lie, and the 2nd camera broke when I tried to focus it. Really cheap stuff you can buy online for way less money.
