Nice little comic shop. They have some cool collectibles to browse through. Not a whole lot of variety but they will have most of the mains from marvel and DC. The one guy at the counter, I believe he was the owner, he was very polite and pleasant to converse with. His wife makes a lot of the cool stuff they have in the shop. They have like 80 face mask designs for most of you fandoms.

The owner of the store has everything organized so well, with the latest issues at the front of the store for easy access. and he also cares so much for comics and gives great recommendations.

I came in to pick up the first collection of the Young Avengers which Elise held for me. Its something that is currently very hard to find but First Aid Comics had one copy and not only was Elise nice enough to hold it, but she was just as nice when I came in. Thank You Elise! The staff is so so friendly! I accidentally placed an order for the wrong item and when I arrived to pick it up, they allowed me to swap it out for the correct one!

This is a cool little comic shop. They carry a wide variety of titles and action figures. You can always count on a good comic conversation when youre in there as well. I try to stop in when I get a break from work. On the days of COVID, if youre looking for a cool mask, this is a great spot.

First Aid Comics is a great comic book store. They have a large variety of comics and some magic cards. They have magic tournaments there too. The people who work there are very knowledgeable about any/everything comic related and are always friendly and helpful. The prices are very fair and they treat every customer with care and special attention. We love this place and would recommend it to anyone in search of a good comic store.

It has a HUGE selection of every and any chic no you would or could want. If they dont have it they will direct you to where you can find it. Always vertu friendly and courteous acme a must visit point on the street. We always make a visit when visiting Chicago.

Cool comic book store. Has enough comics for its small space. Nice selection of graphic novels and cool toys. A little gem in the neighborhood. Going strong for a good couple of years now and hopefully will stay around for a bit.

While visiting from out of state I found this place on Google maps and was not disappointed, the gentlemen at the counter was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. This is a great place for comics. Very cool atmosphere. Its got a nice selection of comics and graphic novels. Its really well organized, clean and friendly. The workers gave me good recommendations on new stuff to read that I ended up enjoying. Go visit.

This is probably the best comic book shop Ive been to in Chicago. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a good stock of current books, I came in looking for one issue of Squirrel Girl I couldnt find and left with 10 issues as well as an issue of Spider-Man I was having trouble locating. They also have a large assortment of buttons and even coasters (along with other nerdy necessities).This shop is well worth visiting even if its a little out of the way.

The sweetest employees, wonderful manager, friendly and welcoming evironment. I knew right away I wanted to start a pull list at First Aid. They keep track of the comics you order, not forgetting you when they come in even over a month later. They even have D&D campaigns going every Saturday! Love them, they deserve the best.

Man...if youre looking for the worst shop in Chicago, keep it moving because this is FAR FAR FAR from that. They are on the opposite end of the spectrum. I love this place. I come in VERY OFTEN with my wife and kids. Tom and Suzie and the rest of the staff are very welcoming with a handshake and a smile and always a great warm welcome. We come in and literally spend HOURS here browsing and being kids all over again. We are rarely ever in and out and Tom is such a funny and EXTREMELY knowledgeable guy. I love walking in and shooting the breeze with all of these wonderful people. Before i forget...Tom LOVES hugs.

Unbelievable place, they have all these homemade items that are super cute and cheap. Homemade buttons, magnets, and soaps that have different pop culture themes. The owners are really knowledgeable about everything comic and non comic related. They always seem to have interesting window displays, I saw a Halloween one and a Simpsons themes too. They also have game nights, for when you want a childhood throwback with some late night D&D...! Favorite Comic book shop in the city by far.

This is a welcoming place that really is part of the neighborhood. If you want to go in & have a deep conversation about the books you read or hit up a game night you are totally welcome there! New to the world of comic books, just looking for a cool place to pick up a graphic novel, or rather clueless & searching for a gift for a friend or family member - you are totally welcome there!The owner/operators & their staff are both knowledgeable & friendly (no Simpsons Comic Book Guy condescension here).They also strike a fantastic balance between being family-friendly without being a place where you feel strange being a grown up. A lot of the kids who come in are really cool & well behaved & theres material for them & the staff interact with them in an age appropriate way - but often its college-age and up as far as whose in the shop. Ive been there with & without my kiddo & can always sense a slight difference & the tone its always spot on.Did I mention its a very neighborhood place? They gave out some pretty great Halloween treats in 2016. These are some dedicated & passionate people - no phoning it in for them!

First aid is a great shop where anyone young to old, first time comic buyer to grizzled veteran can find what they want in a low pressure environment. Ive been frequenting the shop for years and all the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. If youve never bought a comic the always keep some great introductions in stock and help long time readers find items they may enjoy but never thought of.

I stopped in on a whim a few months ago, wow this place is great. Friday Nights they have Magic the Gathering (standard and draft alternating weeks). Great crowd, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The store owners (Tom and Suzie) are both very friendly and accommodating. Very glad I stopped in, and will continue coming here for the foreseeable future.

I love First Aid comics. Its a classic comic store that gives you the feely-goods when you walk in. Tom is also such a good dude and he is passionate about what he does and he has a way of bringing his customers into that passion was well. I visit the store as much as I can when I come to Chicago. First Aid is such a cool place and should be on every comic collectors must visit list. If there was a Diners Drive-ins and Dives type show for comic books, I would put First-Aid on the list!!!!!

Even though it was crowded today. Gatherers of Magi(Magic the Gathering) Were in the shop, I will definitely be back. Liked the feel of the place and it is close to Maxwell Street.Everything displayed well and the people who work there seem Awesome.

Tom is an awesome guy. Best person I know to talk comic shop with. If he doesnt have it in his store Im sure he can either get it or point you in the right direction to find it. Theres also awesome pins, MtG cards, DnD books, and dice and more. Even since moving out of the city, I still make the trip to First Aid for my nerd needs.

I have been drafting magic the gathering here for the last month or so and without a doubt this is the best store I have ever been a part of. I have never had a comic book store owner accommodate me better or be as focused on cultivating a great and welcoming atmosphere. The crowd it brings is not nearly as aggro nerd as I have experienced in the past and is full of cool people. I highly recommend this place for MTG, comics (Tom knows it all), or board games.

Real friendly staff who can recommend you a title based on others you like or bring you up to speed on what is out right now. Lots of cool stuff beyond comics like buttons, toys, collectables, shirts. I have also played some MTG events here. Lots of fun and a pretty large crowd for the drafts I went to.

Really cool place, and just as cool an owner.

Can be a bit pricy but thats because they are a local shop. The staffs seems knowledgeable and I was glad they had Vox Machina Origin series. Also responds in a reasonable time to Facebook messages.Can get a bit cramp for some event though but thats to be expected in Chicago.Nothing in particular is outstanding beyond what is expected so I rate a 4*: above average.

This is a hidden gem on Taylor Street. Absolutely awesome - great vibe and selection. Run by a great guy who is super passionate about well...comics! Definitely recommend for comic lovers, but they also have a variety of toys and other knick knacks for everyone to enjoy.

Great selection of comics, compendia, and graphic novels. The staff are super kind, happy to offer advice but equally as happy to let you browse in peace if thats your thing.

I’ve been shopping at first aid for at least 4 years now. The staff is friendly and helpful. They almost always gets my pull right. If there is a problem, I just email and *bam* it gets fixed.

This place may be small but the customer service is huge. If its not there, ask and, if they can, will order it for you. I love this place and Tom is great. Definitely make this your new favorite comic book store.

This is a nice little comic store near the UIC neighborhood. I stopped in after working UICs bacon fest and the owner and i had a conversation on spider-man and the festival i was working.
