Had soooooo many comics. Tons of smaller artists that we have never seen in a store. Back home we would have to order them. Great, helpful, and friendly staff. Loooved the bookmarks and cat books 😊

Love this store. Im not a big comic person besides watching the Marvel movies, but this store makes it so nice to go in and get birthday/Christmas presents for my brother who does love them - and I get to support local. I also just like wondering around since they have a nice atmosphere and some really cool items. The have a little section in the back with books from local authors and small publishers which is cool to wonder through.

Awesome selection of comics! And the employees are semi friendly. My only complaint is that their wall of goodies behind the counter need bigger price stickers so the staff doesn’t have to take each book down one by one so customers can get a closer look.

I stumbled across this cute little local shop. Heres the thing, I do not know anything about comic books but I still thought this place was great! They have tons of unique things and local comic books.They even sell non comic book items.It was overall a cute store with tons of stuff. Also super friendly staff!

Ive been visiting this shop for decades and as a comic collector for most my life I must say that Chicago Comics is great. They always have their new books in stock in multitudes as well as having a healthy stock of back issues that are constantly changing. Their crew are friendly & knowledgable. Parking is always available which is nice. Highly recommended for any comic collector.

Popped in here on a whim and found it to be a very cool comic book store. Lots of fanbased trinkets and books. Many comic books, good selection, and even a good discount rack. I bought 3 books which Im very excited to read.Also very lgbtq+ friendly and I felt very welcome there. They even had a section dedicated to lgbtq+ books and comics. It was great.

Excellent vintage back issue selection. Polite, friendly. They dont treat their shop as if it were a museum, or area 51. They dont follow you throughout the store. I highly suggest for fantasy lovers to shop here! You wont regret it!

Great comic book store to check out if youre in the neighborhood. Been here a few times, but had a pretty bad customer service experience the last time I went. Not sure what her name is, but she was really rude to me when I asked for my book bag that I had checked in when entering the store. All I wanted was to get my book bag back, but she denied my request several times with an attitude. I was being respectful the whole time during the verbal exchange, and was just perplexed at how I was being treated for requesting to get my own property back.Lo and behold, I was actually given a card from the other staff member who checked my bag. Unbeknownst to me, he had dropped the card on the front counter, but I walked away before realizing that. I wasn’t aware of the bag check-in process. I had a long day, and just wanted to see some cool stuff at the store.You can say that I was at fault for not noticing and not being aware of the bag check-in process, but giving an attitude to a customer who was being respectful the whole time in the store is unacceptable. The guy who checked my bag was cool though. Maybe that lady was having a bad day, but because of that experience, I don’t think I’ll ever want to go back to that store if that lady is still working there.

This was my first time going to this shop. I absolutely loved it!! The amount of golden, silver, and Bronze age comics is unreal. This shop is just amazing and all around fantastic. I will definitely plan another trip again soon.

I really like this comic shop. Everythings well organized, its bright, they have a lot of local mini comics, and there are plenty of interesting non-book fandom items to browse at the front. Also, the employees are really cool, especially the woman at the front that my friend and I talked to on November 1st. Youre great, so keep doing what you do!

I am not a comic collector or reader, but I wandered in and really enjoyed looking around. Spoke with the owner a bit. Sounds like they have everything you need! On top of comics they have loads of graphic novels, which were more interesting for me, and memorabilia. Really fun to just peek around and see what they have. Would be the place to go for comic books.

Easily the best comic shop Ive ever been to. Vast alphabetical stock. DEEP independent and local artists. Frequented by Chicagos own Alex Ross. If you visit one shop on a trip to Chicago, this is a must!

We were ignored the whole time we were in the store . I was visiting from Wichita KS (the comic book stores there acknowledge customers and try to be helpful) and made special arrangements to visit this shop( very sorry I did) I was going to buy some books had them in hand at the front counter and was still ignored, dropped the books and left, I would advise anyone thinking of going to this shop just IGNORE it and dont 😬

This is a great shop to pop into for a copy of any pop culture magazine that one may have missed. They always carry unique items and they play great music. The staff is very helpful and friendly and can order any random item of ones choice. This is an excellent shop.

Good selection of comics and collectables, staff was very nice and knowledgeable, guy behind the counter was able to answer all my questions satisfactory. We were looking for Godzilla stuff for my son and even though they had a few items the guy was willing to order me some from their site. Very happy we stopped by and will definitely be back if Im ever in the Chicago area again.

Being a native New Yorker and having comic shops like Forbidden Planet and Midtown Comics, I was expecting to be greatly disappointed with the comic book shops scattered around Chicago. Fortunately, I stumbled onto Chicago Comics and it blew my mind! The staff is incredibly intelligent and informative...and most importantly customer friendly. The collection of local independent artists comics and big name comics made me stay in the store for hours, browsing each and every shelf. This is my new home for everything comic book related and I couldnt be happier!

The staff is very helpful and friendly! Family oriented, and the only place I know that has a very chill environment! Meaning, while you are searching for certain comic books, their is always a variety of music playing in the background! From Rock music, underground hiphop, to jazz (satellite radio)

Its a cool store with lots of options but I feel like the staff isnt quite as available as in other comic book stores in the area. The flipside is that its probably the one of the largest stores in the area, so if youre looking for a specific gift item or comic book and cant find it, its probably here!!

I love going to Chicago Comics. Tuesday is their buyback Tuesday when they have a buyer in the house. As for me, I am no aficionado of vintage comics. However, I love to read them and have started collecting them again since moving near to Chicago Comics.They have a great selection of graphic novels, trade, and all the other varieties of book you are likely looking for. They have great discounts on overstock, a section of art books, an adult/offbeat section, and a courteous staff.Whenever one of my stories has a new issue, I am always more than happy to head on over to the store.

The best comic shop in Chicago, if not the entire United States. Everyone who works there is awesome, friendly, and knows a lot about comics. Everyone is welcome, and I always leave with books I know I am going to love.

I adore this place. Being female, Ive had regrettable experiences at other shops. These guys are incredibly friendly, knowledge, and supportive. And have absolutely no judgement or snobbery if you have questions or are looking into gaining knowledge about comics. I cant say enough good things about this place.

Cool little gem in Chicago

This shop is incredibly well stocked and has a lot of merchandise to choose from. I was able to find the Walking Dead Compendium 3 there, which I have never seen at another store. The only downside is pricing. This place is a little on the expensive side.

Its an understatement to call this place the best comic shop in Chicago, they have amazing selection of comics, as well as indie comics. They occasionally also have great artist in-store meet and greets. The place is an institution. Friendly staff as well.

When we found out we were staying at a hotel a block away for a concert we knew wed end up at Chicago Comics. The store is huge but feels small because they have SO MUCH AWESOME inside. My favorite things: they pre-package whole series/arcs in easy to grab and identify bags for a huge discount so if you heard about some off the wall thing like Great Lakes Avengers you can easy grab the ENTIRE SERIES for about $2 a book and be able to enjoy the entire thing without having to hunt for that one missing edition from 9 years ago. They also have a huge backstock of books, a number of custom items made just for their store, and the staff was awesome looking up a few things on my hunt list, and even better, having some of them in stock!
